At night, Bakura Ryou is running away from something
around the city. There is a voice following him and asking him where
he intends to go.
Bakura doesn't answer but keeps on running. Then he reaches a cathedral,
opening its gate and entering there. While walking, Bakura sees candles
on the altar all lit up. He looks very scared now. The voice behind him
tells him that there is waste of time to run away. It claims that Bakura
has a mission to compelete. Bakura really wonders what kind of mission
it means. Then it starts talking
about the millennium items. Now the millennium items are all together
in Pharaoh's, Shadi's and Bakura's hands. Shadi is supposed to submit
his holding millennium items to Pharaoh later. Although the seven millennium
items are gathered, it is unlikely to open the gate to the other world.
There is the 8th key that Bakura has to search for. It is the key to
open the gate and that key is hidden inside Pharaoh's memory world. Bakura
tries to refuse and says that he doesn't know anything. Suddenly, the
voice becomes louder until it breaks windows and the darkness starts
covering Bakura. The voices leaves the last message "Nameless
Pharaoh! When the door to the memory world is openned, the ultimate game
over 3,000 years will start [ laughing !] ".
1960 in Egypt
Sugoroku with two guides have reached the Valley of the
Kings where Pharaoh's tomb is situated on. A guide says that this torritory
from now on is an area of death. Sugoroku understands that here is the
valley of royal family for burial of ancient Egyptian Pharaoh. He has
come here to search for an ultimate game. The guide continues saying
that there were around 60 graves discovered in this valley. By the way,
no one has ever arrived the inner part of the tombs. Another guide adds
that during the previous war, there was an English archeologist who had
surveyed here and had left a message "A Shadow Game [Yami No Game] "
before he died. Then Sugoroku looks very excited to hear that sound of
the interesting game. The guide explains that there were many traps set
up inside the tomb to protect treasures sleeping at the destination.
He claims that Sugoroku has to lead him to the treasures following what
they promised. Sugoroku agrees to keep his promise because his aim isn't
the treasures at all. Then he proposes to take some rest for before entering
the tomb. At night, when people are ready, Sugoroku tells them to prepare
for the enter. Both guides are interested in the treasures while Sugoroku
tells them that he cares only the shadow game. He is a game master and
would like to face any challenging games. In his life, he has passed
many kinds of games: chess, card, gambling and roulette. Anyway, he is
very interested in an invincible game in Egypt. It encourages and challenges
him to come here and beat it. Then three of them are ready
at the entrance of the tomb. Two guides tell Sugoroku to go first.
Walking inside the tomb, they've reached a room with many corpse lying
everywhere. Sugoroku says that this is the end of people who were defeated
by the shadow game. Then the guides see big red diamonds in glowing eyes
of giant stone snakes, trying to get them. However, Sugoroku stops them
and throws his cigarette in to the front. Suddenly, needles are launched
from the stone snakes'mouths and cut the cigarette. As Sugoroku is thinking,
the shadow game has already started. After that, three of them keep on
walking, reaching another room with a stone statue of Horus standing
in front of them. Looking closer, Sugoroku sees a slate and
there is a hole beneath it. He knows that this should be some kind of
a trap. Then he lights inside the hole and hieroglyphs are shown up on
the wall. It is written that Pharaoh's remain is sleeping beyond and
is protected by gods. Whoever intrudes will be given punishment by darkness.
The two guides are amazed by that Sugoroku could read ancient language.
Even Sugoroku wonders about himself. Then people are curious where the
exit is. Suddenly, the floor opens up and reveals a stairway. All of
them start moving down there to the next room.
Horus: Horus
is a facon headed god of Egypt and a royal protector. It usually
stands in front of the entrance.

People have reached a new area with a maze floor. There are also many
corpses around the maze while the exit is at the opposite side. A guide
looks scared, so his brother tries to tell him not to be worried. He
takes out his gun, saying that Sugoroku will lead the way, clear the
game and cause no problem to both of them. Then he accidently steps on
a trap. As a result, the wall behind suddenly closes down the entrance
and many walls with several spikes are moving closer to people. The guide
draws his gun towards Sugoroku, forcing him to go on. Sugoroku is worried
because he hasn't understood the maze yet. Anyway, he has no choice but
move forward. After that, he is stuck by a stone statue that is attacking
by its swords. Sugoroku tries to figure out and moves his step back.
At this time, he's noticed that the statue stops when he steps his right
foot back and puts his left foot forward. Accordingly, Sugoroku comes
up with an idea that Egyptian Pharaoh was considered a god. All statues
had to put their left feet forward to show their respect. When he can
solve the puzzle of the game, he tells the guides to walk by stepping
left foot forward. Sugoroku and a guide pass the maze successfully while
another guide misses and he is attacked by the statue. Sugoroku feels
sorry with the guide, saying that this is the result of the loser to
the shadow game. The rest guide
gets angry and tells Sugoroku to move on the way.
The rest guide and Sugoroku are walking through the path, reaching
an exit to the main hall with hieroglyphs on the wall. They are written
that Ka sealed inside tablets give a punishment to who has fear. His
soul will be taken and only a courage will be given the way. Behind
the door, it is a room with a long pillar over a ravine to the other
side. The pillar is divided into many blocks with an image of Ka sealed
inside. At the destination, there is a golden box on an altar. The guide
tells Sugoroku to move on. While starting to walk, Sugoroku feels something.
He doesn't understand what kind of this feeling is but he thinks that
he has ever felt it before somewhere. Walking through the pillar, he
thinks that he is ever close to get the legendary game. However, the
guide shoots Sugoroku by his gun. Sugoroku almost falls down but he can
catch the edge of the pillar in time. The guide betrays him and moves
on to get the treasure alone. Anyway, he is eaten by a giant monster
coming out from a block of the tablet. Sugoroku thinks that this may
be the end because he can no longer hold himself. After that, there is
a shadow of Pharaoh Yugi walking toward Sugoroku and offering his hand
to save him. Pharaoh says that "I have been waiting
for you, Shimon.".
When Sugoforu gets up, he finds himself on the pillar and there is nobody
there. Then he walks to get the treasure, a millennium puzzle box, at
the destination. This is the story how Sugoroku got the golden puzzle
box.
Ka: Ka
is an ancient term to call a spirit of person mind. It is sealed
in the tablet and is summoned at any time. In
other word, it is a monster played in duel monster game while the
sealing tablet is a card. This explanation is given in comic
episode 285.
Shimon: Shimon
is a previous name of Sugoroku's past life as a right hand of Pharaoh.

Back to Yugi's present room, Sugoroku finishes his story about the millennium
puzzle box. Yugi feels excited to this story. Both of them are talking
about the next plan. Tomorrow, Yugi is going to Egypt because the ancient
tablet has already returned there. He knows that he has to show three
god cards in front of the tablet again as Yami Yugi ever did before.
Then Yugi asks whether his grandpa remembers where Pharaoh's tomb is
located on. Sugoroku says that he can't remember because at that time
the guides leaded him there through many ways. Pharaoh's tomb is such
a mysterious place. Hearing that, Yugi feels pity a bit because he would
like to see the original
place
of the
millennium
puzzle when he reaches Egypt. By the way, Sugoroku asks Yugi that he
would like to see god cards again. Yugi isn't happy with Sugoroku's act
because his grandpa has already asked for the same thing for 5 times.
So Sugoroku starts crying. Seeing that, Yugi has to comply and take out
his god cards for Sugoroku. When Sugoroku gets them, he claims that he
really wants them. As a result, Yugi tries to take them back, claiming
that he won't definitely give them to anybody. These cards are very important
to Yami Yugi. So Sugoroku understands and thinks about Pharaoh's soul
that Yugi talked about. He reminds himself of Pharaoh whom he found in
Pharaoh's tomb. Pharaoh's soul was sealed inside the millennium puzzle
and is now inside Yugi's body. Yugi, who could solve the millennium puzzle,
becomes a vessel of Pharaoh's spirit. Looking at Yugi, Sugoroku tells
him that Yugi is a chosen guy who inherits Pharaoh's will. He has a coming
destiny to face many difficult tests. Sugoroku also tells him not to
give up, no matter what. Yugi accepts that he will try his best. Then
both of them go to bed.
At night, Yugi can't sleep, thinking about what he talked with Yami
Yugi at school. Yugi tells Yami Yugi that he has something to talk to
Yami Yugi. He first asks whether Yami Yugi is hesitating about himself
(little Yugi). Yugi notices that Yami Yugi has sometime looked uncertain
to travel to
recover
memory
since he got three god cards from Battle City. When Yugi could solve
the millennium puzzle, he found Yami Yugi. After that, he got many friends:
Kaiba, Jyonouchi and etc. Thus, Yugi really appreciates what he received
from Yami Yugi. Anyway, he understands that Yami Yugi may be so worried
about him that he is uncertain to leave him. As a result, Yugi tells
Yami Yugi not to be worried about him anymore. He will be fine although
he has to stay alone without Yami Yugi. Hearing that, Yami Yugi clearly
understands Yugi's feeling. No matter what happens, memory of all people
remains in Yami Yugi's mind forever. Yugi also says that he already finished
solving his millennium puzzle. Next is Yami Yugi's turn to solve his
memory puzzle. Until this mission is accomplished, both of them are good
partners.

While Yugi is sleeping, two shadows of Haga and Ryusaki appear at his
room's window. Both of them breaks into the window, stealing Yugi's bag
with three god cards and running away. Yugi gets up and follows both
of them at once while it is raining. Haga and Ryusaki stop at a street,
openning Yugi's bag to take out the god cards. Then they first see millennium
items. Suddenly, a millennium ring is glowing and flying out from the
bag towards Bakura who has just reached there. Then he attacks Haga and
Ryusaki. Their scream is so loud that Yugi can hear and follow the direction.
When he reaches the street, Haga and Ryusaki are knocked on the floor.
Yugi asks who did that to both of them. Then he is amazed by turing face
