อันซุและยูกิกำลังพักอยู่ที่ริมลำธารระหว่างทางที่จะเดินกลับไปหาพวกโจวโนะอุจิ ยูกิบอกอันซุอย่าเพิ่งฝืนเดินเพราะเจ็บขาและให้พักไปก่อน อีกด้านพวกโจวโนะอุจิกับฮอนดะก็กำลังเจออุปสรรคกับงูที่ขวางทางเดินอยู่บนรางรถไฟทำให้ไม่กล้าเดินต่อไป

กลับมาที่สายการบิน Kaiba Airways ไคบะและโมคุบะกำลังเดินทางอยู่บนเครื่องบินส่วนตัวของบริษัท Kaiba Corporation ขณะที่กำลังมีปรากฏการณ์ออโรร่าเกิดขึ้น และทั้ง 2 คนก็สังเกตว่าไฟในตัวเครื่องบินกระพริบผิดปกติ ไคบะพยายามติดต่อลูกเรือแต่ก็ไม่สามารถติดต่อใครได้่ ทั้งโมคุบะและไคบะจึงเดินไปดูรอบ ๆ เครื่องบินก็ไม่พบใครซักคนจึงแปลกใจมาก ทันใดนั้นทั้ง 2 ก็ได้ยินเสียงอาเมลด้าออกมาจากลำโพงทำให้รู้ว่าอาเมลด้าแอบขึ้นมาบนเครื่องแล้ว ไคบะโมโหมากและบอกให้รีบเปิดเผยตัวออกมา โมคุบะบอกให้ลองไปดูในห้องนักบินแต่ก็ไม่พบใคร เครื่องบินก็ถูกขับด้วยระบบคอมพิวเตอร์อยู่ อาเมลด้าพูดออกลำโพงอีกครั้งว่าไม่ใช่ห้องนักบิน แต่เป็นชั้นล่าง เมื่อทั้งไคบะและโมคุบะเดินลงมาที่เคบินชั้นล่างที่เป็นห้องประชุมก็พบอาเมลด้านั่งรออยู่แล้ว อาเมลด้าบอกว่าด้วยอิทธิพลของ Doom แล้ว การแอบขึ้นมาบนเครื่องบินนี้ก็เป็นเรื่องง่ายมาก อาเมลด้าท้าดวลกับไคบะบอกว่าเป็นการตัดสินเพื่อการแก้แค้น โมคุบะนึกกลับไปถึงอดีตของอาเมลด้าและพยายามห้ามไว้ถึงจะดวลกัีบพี่ตนไปก็ไม่ใช่เรื่องที่ถูกต้อง อย่างไรก็ตามไคบะก็ยอมรับคำท้าทั้ง ๆ ที่รู้ว่าหากแพ้แล้วจะต้องเสียดวงวิญญาณของตนไป ไคบะเคลียร์พื้นที่ในห้องประชุม ทั้งไคบะและอาเมลด้าต่างก็ Set Duel Disk ของพวกตนและเริ่มการดวล

ตาแรกเริ่มที่อาเมลด้าไ้ด้ตั้งรับ Monster ไว้และจบ Turn ตาไคบะก็เรียก X Cannon Head (4/1800/1500) ออกมาทำลายไปได้ ตาอาเมลด้าก็ตั้งรับ Monster และหมอบการ์ดไว้ 1 ใบ แต่ Monster ก็ถูก Y Dragon Head (4/1500/1600) ของไคบะทำลายได้ในตาถัดมาอีก LP ของอาเมลด้าลดลงเหลือ 2200 ไึึคบะหมอบการ์ดไว้ 1 ใบก่อนจบตาของตน Turn กลับมาที่อาเมลด้าอีกครั้ง เกมของจริงเพิ่งเริ่มขึ้นเมื่ออาเมลด้าทำทีท่าจะใช้การ์ดขอบข่าย Orichalcos ไคบะรู้ทันจึงรีบหันมาเตือนให้โมคุบะหลบไป การ์ดเวทย์มนตร์ขอบข่าย Orichalcos ถูกใช้ ทำให้เกิดวงแหวน Orichalcos ยกพาไคบะและอาเมลด้าขึ้นไปสู้กันนอกเครื่องบิน โมคุบะถูกพลังของ Orichalcos กระเด็นไปกระแทกบันได ในขณะที่เครื่องบินเริ่มรวนเพราะพลังของ Orichalcos ไคบะสังเกตเห็นควันสีดำรอบ ๆ วงแหวน Orichalcos อาเมลด้าบอกว่าจะให้ไคบะได้เห็นสิ่งที่เคยเกิดขึ้นกับน้องชายของตน อีกด้านโมคุบะก็รีบวิ่งไปที่ห้องนักบินและพยายามติดต่อขอความช่วยเหลือเพราะเครื่องบินเกิดขัดข้อง

เมื่อไคบะลืมตาขึ้นอีกทีก็พบว่าตนอยู่ในโกดังใต้ดิน มีเด็ก 3 คนเดินลงมา เด็กคนหนึ่งบอกว่าถ้าตื่นก็ให้ไปได้แล้วเพราะที่นี่เป็นฐานลับลี้ภัยของพวกตน ไคบะมองไปรอบ ๆ ห้องพบอาวุธมากมายจึงถามว่ามีไว้ทำไม เด็กคนหนึ่งชื่อ Dennis บอกว่าอาวุธพวกนี้มีไว้ปกป้องหมู่บ้านของตน และเด็กอีกคนหนึ่งชื่อ Tony ก็บอกให้เงียบอย่าพูดมาก ไคบะสังเกตเห็นกระดานหมากรุกวางอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกอาวุธ เด็กอีกคนก็ถามขึ้นมาว่าพี่เล่นหมากรุกเป็นไหม ไคบะถามชื่อเด็กก็ตอบว่าชื่อ Eva

แต่ยังไม่ทันจะคุยอะไรต่อ Tony ก็ขัดจังหวะและบอกให้ไคบะออกไปจากฐานลี้ภัยของพวกตนได้แล้ว ไคบะจึงเดินออกไปข้างนอกโดยมี Eva เดินตามไปด้วย ไคบะพบหมู่บ้านในสภาพยับเยินจากสงคราม Eva เดินตามไคบะมาและบอกว่าครอบครัวของเด็ก ๆ ส่วนใหญ่ในหมู่บ้านนี้ถูกฆ่าตายหมดแล้ว แต่ตนยังดีที่มี Dennis และ Tony เป็นเสมือนครอบครัวของตน Eva ถามไคบะว่าเล่นหมากรุกเป็นไหมและก็วาดตารางหมากรุกบนพื้นและใช้กระสุนเป็นตัวหมากเดินแทน ทำให้ไคบะนึกถึงตอนที่ตนเคยเล่นหมากรุกกับโมคุบะสมัยเด็ก ๆ ที่บ้านเด็กกำพร้า Eva เริ่มเดินหมากและให้ไคบะเล่นด้วยกับตน แต่เริ่มเกมยังไม่ทันไรทั้งคู่ก็ได้ยินเสียงระเบิดดังมาจากฐานลี้ัภัย Eva ตกใจรีบวิ่งไปกลับไปดู Tony และ Dennis โดยมีไคบะวิ่งตามกลับไปด้วย ฐานลี้ภัยจมอยู่ในกองเพลิง Eva ร้องตะโกนจะวิ่งเข้าไปแต่ไคบห้ามไว้ พอ Eva หันกลับมาไคบะก็เห็นเป็นภาพซ้อนเหมือนกับโมคุบะ และแล้วก็มีกองทัพรถถังติดตรา KC วิ่งตรงมายังทั้ง 2 ไคบะตะโกนโมโหใส่อาเมลด้าที่มาเล่นกัีบจิตใจของคนอื่น รถถังยิ่งใส่ไคบะทำให้ X Cannon Head และ Y Dragon Head ของไคบะปรากฏขึ้นมาบนสนาม Y Dragon Head ถูกทำลายไป อาเมลด้าก็ปรากฏตัวขึ้นมา ไคบะโมโหมากที่อาเมลด้าสร้างภาพมาหลอกตน

KC One Clayton ที่ถูกเล่นร่วมกับ Token

อาเมลด้าบอกว่านั่นไม่ใช่ภาพหลอก หลังจากนั้นต่อมา Eva ก็ตายเช่นเดียวกับน้องชายของตน อาเมลด้าประกาศเริ่มเกมต่อ อาเมลด้าอธิบายการเล่นผสมผสานของตนว่าตนใช้การ์ด KC One Crayton (2000) ร่วมกับการ์ดกับดัก Tank Units of Historical War (Rekisen no Senshu Butai) ซึ่งจะสร้าง Token ขึ้นมา 3 Token KC one Crayton จะมีพลังโจมตีเพิ่มขึ้น 500 ต่อ 1 Token ดังนั้นพลังของรถถัง KC one Crayton จึงเพิ่มขึ้นจาก 2000 เป็น 3500 (2000+3*500) เมื่อโจมตีใส่ Y Dragon Head (4/1500/1600) ของไคบะทำให้ LP ของไคบะลดลง 2000 (3500-1500) อาเมลด้าหมอบการ์ดไว้ 1 ใบและจบ Turn ตาไคบะก็ใช้การ์ดชุบชีวิตเรียก Y Dragon Head กลับมาพร้อมกับเรียก Z Metal Caterpillar (4/1500/1300) ออกมาและรวมร่าง Monster 3 ตัวกลายเป็น XYZ Dragon Cannon ที่มีพลังโจมตี 2800 ไคบะเริ่มโจมตีโดยการจู่โจมทำลาย Token ทั้งหมดก่อนเพื่อลดพลังของ KC one Crayton ให้เหลือเท่าเดิมคือ 2000 จากนั้นก็ให้ XYZ Dragon Cannon โจมตีใส่ KC one Crayton ทำให้ LP ของอาเมลด้าลดลงเหลือ 1400 (2200-[2800-2000]) และทั้ง 2 คนก็กลับคืนสู่สภาพปัจจุบันอีกครั้ง อาเมลด้าบอกว่าเพื่อที่จะสร้างโลกที่ไม่มีสงครามและอาวุธตนจึงได้เข้าร่วมกับ Doom และเพื่อการนั้นและดวงวิญญาณของไคบะก็เป็นสิ่งจำเป็น ไคบะรู้สึกว่าเครื่องบินกำลังสั่นพอมองลงไปก็ไม่เห็นโมคุบะแล้ว โมคุบะพยายามจะติดต่อขอความช่วยเหลือแต่ทว่าตนก็แทบมือไม่ว่างเพราะต้องคอยควบคุมเครื่องบินที่กำลังจะบินชนภูกเขา ไคบะเองก็ทำอะไรไม่ได้นอกจากต่อสู้กับอาเมลด้าเท่านั้น...

Amelda's Revenge, The Great Airborne Duel

Anzu and Yugi are having some rest at a stream during their ways back to see Jyoonouchi and Honda. Anzu's leg is hurt, so Yugi tells to rest and not to walk for a while. On the other side, Jyoonouchi and Honda are facing a problem with a snake that is obstructing their ways on the rail.

On Kaiba Airways, Kaiba and Mokuba are travelling on personal aeroplane of Kaiba Corporation while there is aurora appearing. Then both of them see that the light are on and off. Kaiba tries to contact the crews but he connects nobody. So Kaiba and Mokuba walk around the plane and they are amazed when they don't see anybody on board. Suddenly, there is the sound of Amelda coming out from the speaker. When Kaiba knows that he is Amelda, he gets very angry and asks where Amelda is hiding himself. Mokuba lets his brother to see in the cockpit on upper deck. However, Kaiba and Mokuba see nobody there. The aeroplane is automatically controlled by computer. Amelda says from the speaker again that they went to the wrong way. He is downstair now. The light is turned on and then both Kaiba and Mokuba go to a meeting cabin and see Amelda sitting and waiting for them there. Amelda tells them that with an influence of Doom, sneaking on the plane is just very simple. He challenges Kaiba a duel for revenge. Mokuba reminds himself what Amelda's tragedy is. He tries to stop Amelda and says that dueling against his brother is wrong. Yet, Kaiba accepts the challenge despite of perception that he will be taken his soul if he is defeated. Conference table and seats are set down. Both Kaiba and Amelda set their duel disks and start the game.

First turn, Amelda sets a monster in defense mode. Next, Kaiba destroys it by X Cannon Head
(4/1800/1500). Then Amelda sets a monster in defense mode again and faces down a card before ending his turn. Anyway, it is also destroyed by Y Dragon Head (4/1500/1600) of Kaiba in later turn. Amelda's LP is down to 2200. Kaiba faces down a card and end his turn. Next move comes to Amelda. The real game is going to begin when Amelda activates the Seal of Orichalcos. When Kaiba knows that, he turns back and tells Mokuba to move out. The Seal of Ocichalcos is played that lets Mokuba hurtle the stair. The aeroplane function is in trouble because of power of Orichalcos. The orichalcos ring takes both players up outside the plane. Kaiba sees that there is black smoke coming out and covering inside Orichalcos area. Amelda tells him that he is going to let him see what ever happened to his brother. At the same time, the plane is trembling because of the system is broken. Mokuba hurries to go into the cockpit and tries to call for help.

Turn back to Kaiba, when he opens his eyes, he finds himself in an underground base. There are three kids coming down. A kid tells Kaiba to go out when he has already got up. This base, a refuge, belongs to his group. Kaiba sees many weapons around the base, so he asks the kids for what they are. A kid, Dennis, says that the weapons are used to protect this village. Anyway, another kid, Tony, stops him not to speak too much. Kaiba looks at a chess board placed among the weapons. The last kid asks him if he can play a chess. Kaiba asks the kid a name. This kid tells his name as Eva. Then Tony stops Eva to speak and let Kaiba get out off the refuge. Kaiba moves out and sees the ruined village. Eva follows Kaiba and talks to him. He explains that most of families of the children in this city have already been killed. However, Eva still has Tony and Dennis as his families. Kaiba gets furious to what Amelda would like him to see. Eva asks Kaiba again if he can play a chess.

Tank Units of Historical War (Rekisen no Senshu Butai) Trap Card

Then he lines a chess board on the ground and uses the bullets for playing. Kaiba reminds himself when he ever played like this with Mokuda during childhood. Eva starts the game and Kaiba also plays a chess with him. Suddenly, there is an explorsion at the refuge. Eva hurries to run back to see Tony and Dennis there. Kaiba also follows him. Eva tries to get into the fire and screams to call Tony and Dennis. Kaiba holds his arm to stop him. Eva turns his face back that lets Kaiba see an image of Mokuba. Then there are serveral tanks with signs of KC moving toward them. Kaiba gets angry and calls Amelda to stop playing his mind. The tanks launches its power straight to Kaiba. X Cannon Head and Y Dragon Head of Kaiba appear on the field. The beam attacks and destroys Y Dragon Head.

KC One Crayton Played with three tokens

Then Amelda walks out in front of Kaiba. When Kaiba turns back, Eva disappears. He much gets angry at Amelda who created such a deception. Amelda tells him that everything isn't an illusion. Later, Eva died, so did his younger brother. Anyway, Amelda continues the game. Amelda explains his combination that he played KC One Crayton (2000) with a trap card Tank Units of Historical War (Rekisen no Senshu Butai) that could create three tokens. KC One Crayton could be powered up 500 points of each token. So its attack power was up to 3500 (2000 + 3*500). The attack that destroyed Y Dragon Head (4/1500/1600) of Kaiba resulted Kaiba's LP down to 2000 (3500-1500). Then Amelda sets up a card and ends his turn. Next turn comes to Kaiba, he activates Raise of Dead to resurrect Y Dragon Head from the graveyard and summons Z Metal Tank (4/1500/1300). Three XYZ monsters are combined together into XYZ Dragon Cannon with 2800 attack power. Kaiba first destroys all tokens of KC One Crayton to decrease KC One Crayton's attack power down to original point, 2000. Then he lets XYZ Dragon Cannon destroy KC One Crayton. Amelda's LP is down to 1400 (2200-[2800-2000]). Then both Kaiba and Amelda are back to the present image. Amelda tells Kaiba that in order to create the world without wars and weapons, he has joined Doom. For accomplish his purpose, Kaiba's soul is neccessary. Kaiba feels that the plane is trembling. He doesn't see Mokuba on the cabin. Mokuba is trying to call for help in the cockpit and controling the plane. He hardly has time to do that because the plane is going to crash the mountain. Kaiba can help nothing but continue dueling against Amelda...
