Diabound's Form

During the manga Diabound changes his form and becomes stronger because of Bakura. Diabound evolves when Bakura’s hatred increases or through the influence of different things like the Millennium Items or the souls of Kurelna. During his evolution he also gets new special abilities.

[ Form 1 ]

In this form Diabound fights against the priests and the pharaoh for the first time. Because of his special abilities he can block the attacks of the priest’s monsters and also defeat them. But when the pharaoh uses Obelisk Diabound gets in trouble. When he got hit from the god’s attack his power decreases. But Bakura has enough power left to activate Diabound’s special ability and flee.

 

[ Form 2 ]

Diabound evolves to this form because Bakura’s hatred increased. In this form he fights Mahado and his Illusion Magician and although Mahado’s monster can hit him several times, Diabound has the upper hand because of his special abilities. He even survives a direct attack from Mahado, who fused with his Ka. In this form he also has a new special ability, that allows him to learn and use the attacks of monsters he defeated.

 

[ Form 3 ]

Through the power of the Millennium Ring Diabound evolved to this form. In this form he also gets new special abilities and is now able to beat Osiris, the sky dragon. In this form he again fights against the pharaoh and the priests but is the superior one. But when the pharaoh summons Ra (in the memory world) he is destroyed by the God Phoenix. Diabound comes back to life when Zork Necrophidius turns back time.

 

[ Form 4 ]
After Bakura got the Millennium Puzzle Diabound evolved to this form. Because he defeated Osiris in the previous duel he also can use his attack, which he uses against the Black Magician Mahado. But although he uses his special abilities and his new powers his power is decreased strongly by the new powers of the Black Magician. He only survives because Bakura absorbs the souls of the people of Kurelna which gives Diabound enough power to evolve to his final form.

 

[ Form 5 ]

This is the last form of Diabound in which he evolves when Bakura absorbs the souls of the people of Kurelna. In this form his power is doubled. Also the souls of Kurelna form an nearly impenetrable shield around his body. He also defeats the fused monster of the pharaoh and the priests but it was able to cut a hole in the shield of souls through which the Black Magician attacks and finally can defeat Diabound.

Diabound's Special Abilities

- Diabound’s first special ability is revealed in his duel with the priest Seto. Diabound is able to pass through massive objects like walls or floors. He often uses this ability to escape from the attacks of monsters. He even is able to extend this ability on his owner. So Bakura is also able to move through walls.

- Bakura activates Diabound’s second special ability when the priest’s monsters use their magical effects on him. There it is revealed that he can negate magical effects in one second.

- One of the new abilities which he gets through the Millennium Ring is used by Bakura when he invades into the Veju Shrine. Diabound is able to adapt himself to the surrounding like a chameleon and thus is able to hide himself and his owner.

- Another special ability which he gets because of his first evolution is revealed when the pharaoh chases after Bakura on a horse. Diabound is now able to learn the attacks of monsters, which he defeated. Thus he learned the attack of Osiris and the Black Magician.

- His last special ability is first used in his duel against Osiris and is called „Camouflage of Darkness“. When this ability is activated Diabound can merge with the surrounding darkness and thus hide himself in any dark place, even in the darkness of the night. This ability is negated when light shines onto him.

Diabound's Battle

[ Diabound VS Obelisk ]
Pharaoh VS The Thief Bakura
Manga episode 285-289

After the thief Bakura got into the palace, the priests use their Millennium Items to look into his soul. There they feel an incredible power. Finale Bakura releases his Ka, which he names Diabound. But it isn’t an evil Ka. All people are shocked because of the size and the strength of the monster. Then the priest Seto tries to imprison Diabound into a stone tablet, by the power of his Millennium Rod. He is successfully but after a few seconds Diabound breaks free. So Seto summons a monster from Veju shrine which he lets fight against Diabound. In the beginning it looks like Seto’s dragon has the upper hand but then Bakura activates Diabound’s special ability to pass through massive objects. Diabound moves to the stone tablet which holds Seto’s monster and destroys it. Because of the destruction of the tablet the dragon disappears. After a short discussion the other priests summon their monsters and attack Diabound but they are defeated very fast. Diabound VS Obelisk After that Bakura orders Diabound to attack the pharaoh but the priests intervene and block Diabound with a magical effect of Mahado’s monster. Then they attack again but Diabound destroys the spell (another special ability) and defeats the priests monsters again. Now the pharaoh joins the fight and he summons one of his gods, Obelisk. Although Bakura sees the strength of the summoned monster he orders Diabound to attack. But his attack doesn’t harm Obelisk and now the god uses his God Hand Crusher against Diabound which decreases Diabound’s and Bakura’s power a lot. But Bakura has enough power left to activate Diabound’s special ability and flee through a wall.

 

[ Diabound VS Black Magician ]
The Thief Bakura VS The Priest Mahado
Manga episode 292-293

Diabound is summoned after a discussion between Mahado and Bakura. Because Bakura’s hatred increased, Diabound evolved and also has become stronger. Now Mahado summons his Ka, the Illusion Magician, which is attacked by Diabound. But because of his speed the Magician isn’t hit by the attack and now attacks himself. He even is able to hit Diabound two times. After that Bakura uses Diabound’s special ability to pass through walls and now Diabound is able to attack from wherever he wants. At last Bakura activates the traps inside the tomb and weakens Mahado’s power. Now he lets Diabound directly attack Mahado from above and the priest is strongly hit. Because he has no other choice, Mahado sacrifices himself, combines his soul and his Ka and becomes the Black Magician. In this form he strongly attacks Bakura and the thief falls into an abyss but he and Diabound survive.

The Thief Bakura VS The Priest Akunadin
Manga episode 298-299

Bakura appears a few chapters later and this time he sneaks into the Veju shrine where the tablets with the Kas are kept. Because of the Millennium Ring Diabound has a new special ability and thus he can adapt himself to the surrounding. In the shrine Bakura attacks Akunadin and before the old priest can summon a monster, Diabound destroys the tablet. When Diabound appears behind Bakura it is revealed that he evolved again. When Akunadin tries to summon another monster it is again destroyed with one blow. After that Bakura and Diabound flee and the second duel with the pharaoh starts.

 

[ Diabound VS Osiris & Ra ]

Manga episode 299-307

After he attacked Akunadin in the shrine, Bakura flees on a horse followed by Diabound who flies above him. But the pharaoh chases after him with Osiris. Above the palace the two gods fight against each other and Diabound has once again the upper hand because of his special abilities. Nevertheless the pharaoh is able to hit Diabound with Osiris and now Bakura flees into the town, where he lets Diabound attack the inhabitants. But the pharaoh intervenes with Osiris and he is able to lure Diabound into the sky where Osiris has the upper hand. Then Osiris attacks the god of darkness but Bakura activates another special ability of Diabound, called “Camouflage of Darkness”. So Diabound merges with the darkness from where he attacks the sky dragon and is able to weaken the god. After that Bakura sayes to the pharaoh that he won’t kill the inhabitants of the town when he would get the Millennium Puzzle. First it seems that the pharaoh accepts but then he lets Osiris directly attack Bakura from above. But the thief is faster and he lets Diabound attack the pharaoh. But before the dark god is able to kill the pharaoh Seto’s monster intervenes and so Diabound again merges with the darkness. From there he attacks the priest’s monsters and to help them the pharaoh lets Osiris fly into the sky to be the primary target. So Diabound appears again and is finally able to destroy Osiris which weakens the pharaoh a lot. Now Seto orders his monster to throw his sword on Diabound but he hits another monster which was summoned by Bakura with the Millennium Ring. It seems there is no hope but then pharaoh’s friend appear and with their help he is able to summon Ra. Because of Ra’s light the darkness disappears and Diabound appears in the sky. Before Ra can do anything Bakura lets his Ka attack the sun god but Seto’s monster intervenes again. Now the pharaoh transforms Ra into god phoenix who destroys Diabound, which also kills Bakura. But this isn’t the end: suddenly Zork Necrophidius appears in the sky and he uses his special ability to rewind time and thus Diabound and Bakura come back to life. Also Ra and pharaoh’s friends disappear. Then Bakura lets Diabound destroy another monster and at last the pharaoh chases alone after Bakura. On a cliff they meet but then Diabound destroys the cliff with the pharaoh on it and after Bakura took the Millennium Puzzle he falls into the abyss.

 

[ Diabound VS Black Magician&Black Magician Girl ]

Manga episode 314-318

While in the beginning Bakura fought with the souls of the inhabitants of Kurelna he summons Diabound after the Black Magician Mahado appears. Because of the Millennium Puzzle Diabound evolved once again. At first he uses Osiris’ attack Thunder Force, which he copied from him, to attack the Black Magician but Mahado creates a portal through which he sends the attack on a pillar behind Bakura. The pillar will now fall onto the stone tablet with the Millennium Items and thus Bakura has no other choice than let Diabound capture it. But now he isn’t able to use his special ability and so the Magician strongly hits him into the face. When the Magician attacks again, Diabound blocks the attack with the pillar and after Bakura summoned another monster to protect the tablet he activates the Camouflage of Darkness. Now Diabound can attack from every place in the temple but the priest Shada summons a monster which can find a monster when it is summoned successfully. When Shada’s monster attacks Diabound blocks the attack and wants to attack the pharaoh but Shada protects him and is strongly attacked. After that Diabound hides himself once again and slowly appears behind the pharaoh. But this was a trick from to pharaoh to lure Diabound into the light which shines from above the temple. And now the Black Magician attacks and he is able to strongly weaken the dark god. But Bakura isn’t defeated yet: he absorbs the souls of Kurelna which leds to Diabound’s last evolution and his power is doubled. Again the Magician attacks but the souls now form a nearly indestructible shield around Diabound’s body and so Mahado’s attack doesn’t harm Bakura’s Ka. Now he attacks and the Magician is strongly hit but before he is killed he is safed by Mana, his student. And with her also the priests come to help the pharaoh. Each of them summons a monster and they all attack Diabound from different directions but because of the soul shield he doesn’t take any damage. After that he destroys Isis’ monster and the last two priests and the pharaoh use the power of the Millennium Scale to fuse their monsters together to create a new, mighty monster. This new monster attacks Diabound who counterattacks. Their attacks are at first equal but then Diabound adds Thunder Force from his snake tail and so his attack is stronger. Although that the priests can redirect the attack and now it’s their turn to counterattack. They are finally able to cut a hole into the soul shield but then Bakura lets his second monster attack the priest Karim and he takes his Millennium Scale. And with the lost of the scale the fused monster splits up. But it’s to late for Bakura: the pharaoh lets the Black Magician attack Diabound through the shield of souls and the god of darkness is finally destroyed.
