The Seal of Orichalcos
(Oracle Curse No Kekkai)

In this new serie, one of key card is a magic card shown as Orichalcos No Kekkai or The seal of Orichalcos . Here is some ability and effect of this card that I try to summary as much as I can.

1. When this card is activated, the Orichalcos Ring appears and surrounds the field. No one can enter or leave until the end of the game.

2. Only the same kind of Orichalcos's power can eliminate the seal of Orichalcos. Any other power, magic card, trap card as well as power of millennium items can't negate or effect on Orichalcos.

3. At the end of the game inside the seal of Orichalcos, the loser must sacrifice his soul (Tamashi).

4. A player gains dark power while his monster becomes a dark monster having power up of 500 attack points.

5. As long as this card is played on the field, a player can summon more than five monsters, play more than five magic and trap cards on this field (Regular rule is at maximum of 5 monsters, 5 magic and 5 trap cards).

6. Only power of the three legendary dragons or the three legendary knights can negate power of the Seal of Orichalcos. In other words, the Seal of Orichalcos has no effect to Timaeus, Helmos and Critias.

Having power of the seal of Orichalcos, Doom warriors are greater than ordinary duelists. Thus, power of 3 dragons (Hellmos, Critias, Timaeus) is necessary in dueling against the seal of Orichalcos. However, only persons having true hearts of duelists are chosen to obtain that power. They are Yugi an owner of Timaeus, Jyoonouchi an owner of Hellmos and Kaiba an owner of Critias.

Inspiration of using the Orichalcos

Certainly, a major reason is that monsters of player can gain 500 points of attack power up and summon many monsters up to 10 monsters.

In episode 151-154, Mai uses the seal of Orichalcos duel against Jyoonouchi and gains dark power. In fact, she isn't controlled by anyone. Mai has been in a nightmare of loser since she lost Malik. After Battle City, though she wins the tournaments, she doesn't feel the victory. Mai would like to be stronger and greater than Yugi and Jyoonouchi, thus she decides to gain dark power to beat them.

In episode 156-158, it is surprise that a person using the seal of Orichalcos isn't Raphael but is Yugi. Raphael plans to give Yugi his card, the seal of Orichalcos, by activating Exchange Card. When Yugi first gets it, he decides not to use it. However, when his monsters are sealed, and the situation becomes worse, Yugi changes his mind to activate the seal of Orichalcos to power up his monsters. Obtaining dark power of Orichalcos, his mind also becomes evil. Yugi lacks of qualification as a true duelist from this duel when he sacrifices his monsters without consideration. That is why he is finally defeated and taken his soul.
