Mutou Yuugi is the main character of the story. Normally, he is a very nice and polite guy, even a pushover, until his other personality takes over. His mind is changed into another character who is smarter and stronger. First, Yugi didn't remember what happened afterwards. Finally, he can openly communicate to the other character who in fact is Pharaoh's soul of Eygpt 3,000 years ago. The soul has been sealed inside a millennium puzzle until Yugi can finish compositing it. That lets Pharaoh's soul free by using Yugi's body as a vessel. Thus, Yugi has 2 hearts inside his mind.

Both Yugi have learnt each other's feeling through the battles. Yugi calls Pharaoh's soul as " Mou Hitori No Boku" that means "Other Me" while the other personality calls Yugi as "Aibou" which means "Partner". Anyway, Pharaoh' soul doesn't remember anything about his past why he was sealed inside a millennium puzzle , what his real name is and what he is going to do next. Thus, he has to fight to recover his memory back.

Previous life as Pharaoh

3,000 years ago, the original life of Yugi was Pharaoh of Egypt. The tragedy in the past caused Pharaoh's death. Pharaoh sacrificed himself to seal darkness with him in a millennium puzzle. At present, he resurrects, stays in Yugi body and shares Yugi name with Mutou Yugi since his can't remember any memory as Pharaoh even his own name. However, the final time has come. Yugi can gather three god cards as important factors to recover his memory as Pharaoh and to end his long destiny. You can find his adventure in previous Egypt on present comic.
