>> Back<< [ Big5 ] The Big 5 is a group of men who used to work for Seto Corporation. They are a set of power-hungry fiends who would do anything for control. Their story begins back in the first series of Duel Monsters, during Pegasus’s Duelist Kingdom tournament. When they saw that Yugi had defeated Seto in his last duel, they also noticed that profits, sponsors, and stocks were going down for the corporation. They teamed up with Pegasus, and agreed to get rid of Seto and Mokuba permanently, as well as make sure Yugi doesn’t win the tournament. This way they could make a new start for the company, by teaming up with Industrial Illusions, which is Pegasus’s Company. Their plan fails, as Yugi wins against Pegasus and frees Seto and Mokuba’s souls. After Seto soon learned of all their backstabbing, he confronts them back in their office, and says they are all fired. Seto then decides to try out his latest invention of the Virtual Game World. A Role-Playing game, but with duel monsters. The Big 5 inserted a virus into the game while Seto was testing it, and so he was stuck in the game, and captured by an Armed Ninja. As the game goes on, Yugi, Jonounchi, Mokuba, and Mai all come into the game to help out, and try to save Seto from the Big 5’s trap. They found them selves dueling the Big 5 all at once. Only dragon monsters were allowed in this virtual duel. The Big 5 used only I monster, which was the 5-headed dragon, which consist of Fire, Lighting, Ice, Dark, and Light dragonheads. Each of the Big controls a head. Soon enough, they are defeated, and not heard from again until episode 98, where they come to take revenge. In the middle of the Battle City finals, while they waited for the 3rd round, the Duel Air Ship is thrown off course and dragged to a mechanical island that suddenly emerges from the sea. When they are forcefully landed onto the island, they found out that a kid named Noah controls a virtual world. He traps all of them into the world, where Yugi, Jonounchi, Seto, Mokuba, Shizuka, Honda, Anzu, and Otogi soon learn that the Big 5 is there as well. They are now under Noah’s control. Noah promises them, that if they defeat one of the duelists, then they can take over their body, and re-enter the real world. They take turns dueling everyone, using Deck Masters as their bodies, until they are all fed up with loosing, that they take over Honda’s body. (Read below under the 4th member of the Big 5 to find out why it is Honda.) Now that there are 5 different conscious in one mind. They demand a duel with Yugi, but Jonounchi decides to duel as well. A long battle rages on between the Big 5, Jonounchi and Yugi, until at last, the Big 5 start to argue within them. They pull it together very soon, and summon the 5-headed dragon, yet again. Jonounchi and Yugi combine the Dark Magician and the Flame Swords Man to win the duel. The Big 5 has been defeated, hopefully for the last and final time.

He is very obsessed with quotes. He continues throughout the duel to quote other statements from ancient China, Italy, and several other places. One of his quotes is, “Those who know all, win all.” Everything he stated revolved around this subject. His duel takes place in a forest type place on a pond.
[ Characteristics ] Otaki is an obnoxious and prudent man who seems to enjoy hearing himself talk. He does seem to care for the Earth, but mainly for penguins. He’s also an agitating man who is very confident in himself and wants revenge on the world, and especially on Kaiba Corp.
[ Background ] When Otaki was little, his parents used to argue a lot. After he finished his homework everyday, he would hang out around the aquarium at the penguin’s cage, and watch and admire the penguins, about how they were such caring and loving families together. For Otaki, it was an escape from his troubles at home. He claims the penguins ‘rescued’ him from it all. As for his job at Kaiba Corporation, he was the manager of the personnel department. Knowing that Seto wanted to create a theme park, Seto Land, Otaki asked to place a section for the penguins in the park, but Seto refused easily.
[ Deck Type ] His deck is full of Water, Ice, and Penguins.
[ Duel Record ] During episode 102-103, he duels with Anzu in a very cold duel in the Virtual World created by Noah. He loses the duel to her. He almost won, but Anzu’s (Dark Magician Girl.) Deck Master took over.
[ Additional Facts ] His
Deck Master is the Penguin Nightmare. Otaki was too confident
and already thought he was going
to win and take over Anzu’s body. When they first met,
he already started explaining everything he knew about
her. Even the smallest details, such as the fact that she’s
forgotten to turn off lights when she leaves a room 62
times. He scolded her verbally about littering, and not
taking proper care of the world, and of the penguins. He’s
55 years old, but acts like a kid. After Anzu’s ankles
freeze up in their duel, because she looses life points,
she begins to shiver. Otaki, rudely, stalls in his next
turn to make Anzu even colder.
[ Characteristics ] A man who feels everyone is inferior to him. He’s a cheater, and not trustworthy at all, even though he’s a lawyer, he says the truth never helps. He’s all about rules and justice, even if he doesn’t follow the rules. He lies whenever necessary.
[ Background ] He used to be positioned in Kaiba Corp, as a Counselor Lawyer.
[ Deck Type ] His deck is full of Angels, Demons, and many things related to Justice.
[ Duel Record ] During episode 104-105, he duels with Jonounchi in a courtroom, in the Virtual World created by Noah. He loses the duel to him. Jonounchi plays his games by luck. Knowing this, Ooka manipulated the duel and made Jonounchi lose all his game bets. Noah caught him and stopped the duel, but Jonounchi demanded they continue. Jonounchi still won.
[ Additional Facts ] His Deck Master is Judge Man. Jonounchi first finds Ooka, pretending to be Mai. When he transforms to his real self, he appeared very stuck up, and handed Jonounchi his business card. Jonounchi slapped it away and yelled at Ooka for tricking him. He’s supposed to be a lawyer, but doesn’t believe in the truth. He asks Jonounchi, “What is truth?” Basically, he’s a lawyer that lies to win. He’s done his research and knows all about how Jonounchi’s deck is all about gambling, luck, and chance. Taking this information into account, Ooka cheats in the duel and makes Jonounchi lose all his bets. Noah cancels the duel and yells at Ooka, but Jonounchi, being a ‘man’ tells Noah to let the duel continue. Now that “Lady Luck” was back on Jonounchi’s side, Ooka didn’t really stand a chance.
[ Characteristics ] A stern man, who is very strict with rules. He has his heart set on making sure no one breaks the rules, so it seems. He is also full of anger towards Seto. He’s also very mechanical, skill wise that is.
[ Background ] He used to manage the Military Factory for Kaiba Corp. The people he worked with used to call him, “The awful Sergeant of the Factory.” To test his loyalty to the company, Seto made him destroy the Military Factory on Alcatraz Island. He was mad, because he had put all of his strength and hard work into building the factory, which he soon destroyed. Then Seto told him that he would be working under the instructions of a new site engineer, to create the Duel Tower.
[ Deck Type ] Mechanical and Robot monsters.
[ Duel Record ] During episode 106-107, he duels with Otogi, Honda, and Shizuka, all at once in a large mechanical storage room, in the Virtual World created by Noah. He easily beats Honda, because Honda was used his Deck Master to save Shizuka. After defeating Honda, Otogi and Shizuka took over and won the duel.
[ Additional Facts ] His Deck Master is the Mech. Sergeant. He’s also somewhat of a stubborn man. He was obviously aware that Shizuka wasn’t a duelist, and continued to attack her most of the time. Even though he was defeated, he refused to give back Honda’s body, and left it at that. He only wants revenge on Seto, for making him destroy his beloved Military Factory. To get his revenge, he’s willing to do anything. The next episode after his defeat (108) he attacks Seto, in Honda’s body, and steals Mokuba.
[ Characteristics ] He’s a very technical person. At the beginning, he looked down on Seto very much. Not only this, but he’s angry at Seto, and merely wants revenge for everything.
[ Background ] Working for Kaiba Corporation, he sold a lot of military weapons, mostly created by Kaiba Corp. Seto had created the items for only fun uses as well as battle systems. Gozaburo turned them into uses for war. He knows Seto very well, for when Seto was younger, and had to complete his last test from Gozaburo (his step father) he was beside Seto most of the time.

After being captured by the 4th member of the Big 5, Noah stopped him, and took Mokuba back with him. Mokuba then watched as Setodueled. Secrets were revealed to Mokuba’s ears. Such as the fact that Seto apparently ‘used’ him to get back at Mokuba. Dimon knew all of this, and continued to get back at Setowith his hateful past with Gozaburo. At the end of the duel, he yells, “Seto, it’s not over yet!”
