CHARACTERS USED: Yugi, Joey, Tristan, Te'a, Mai,
Serenity, Duke, Rebecca, Mokuba, Seto, Mako, Bandit
Keith, Bakura, Solomon "Grandpa" Motou, Rex Raptor,
Weevil Underwood, Maxamillion and Cecelia.

Te'a while doing her homework yawned as her eyelids
and her head slowly droped. In her sleep she started
to dream about being with Yugi, Joey and Tristan at
the park. However she hears something in the bushes,
she looked behind them to see Bandit Keith bloody and
softy crying for help. She runs to her friends for
help and they all run back to the bushes but Keith is
no longer there. Tristan even looks in some bushes
down the walk area but there is no trace of anyone
ever being there.

JOEY: What's the gag Te'a?

TE'A: I'm telling he was back there! (Crying) He was
bloody and about to die.

TRISTIAN: Sure he was. (Scoffs) Te'a I think maybe
you've been out in the sun too long.

Just then a shadow fell across the gang of friends,
they turned to see Maxamillion Pegasus with an eye
patch on.

PEGASUS: Well if it isn't Yugi boy and his little gang
of friends.

YUGI: Pegasus!

TRISTIAN: That's strange, usually you get some sort of
warning sign before true evil shows up. (Smirks) You
know like dogs forming into wild packs and blood
weeping down walls, those sorts of things.

PEGASUS: Where is Bakura? I have a score to settle
with him or should I say his other spirit.

YUGI: We can't allow you to harm Bakura, he doesn't
ever recall what the evil spirit of the Millennium
Ring does.

PEGASUS: Are you sure about that, Yugi boy?

TRISTIAN: Hey Bakura is our friend no matter what!
(Echoing) No matter what... No matter what... No
matter what...

Te'a opened her eyes there was someone ringing the
door bell over and over again. She goes to open the
door to Yugi.

YUGI: Hey that movie you want to see is now showing at
the movie theater, when should we go see it?

TE'A: As soon as possible, why don't you come in? I
need help staying awake long enough to do my homework.

YUGI: You always fall sleep doing your homework don't
you? (Snickers) It's a wonder why your grades are so
good.

TE'A: Oh just come on to my room and stop with the
jokes already.

Te'a sat on her bed as Yugi stood there by the door,
there was an uncomfortable silence between them for a
moment.

YUGI: So what's the problem? Math, langage arts or
what?

TE'A: Nero and the decline of Rome. (Embarrassed) I
thought maybe you might know a little more about it
than I do being that... (Coughs) Well you know? Um, so
can I expect some help on the subject or not?

YUGI: Of course but could we order a pizza first, I'm
feeling I could out eat Joey at this point.

TE'A: As long as you don't eat with two hands like he
does, it's fine. Maybe we could also watch some TV
too.

Meanwhile Bakura was at the book shop in the mall in
his arms was a odd bunch of books. One book of each
about dreams, reincarnation and Egyptian antiquity.
After paying for them he walked out and down to the
food court stopping at the Cajun Seafood Shop and got
a bowl of shimp gumbo. Just as he sat down Mai saw him
and ran up to him with a huge grin.

MAI: Hello Bakura how are you?

BAKURA: I'm fine, do you want to join me? I'm just
starting on my shimp gumbo, we can talk while we eat.

Mai nods and he watches her go over to the hotdog
stand, she comes back and sits across from him. Just
then Joey and Tristan walk into the food court
themselfs. Joey sees Mai sitting with Bakura and
frowns, this doesn't get by Tristan.

TRISTAN: Why don't we just go over and say hello
before your face falls to the floor?

Tristan pulls Joey by the arm as they walk up to Mai
and Bakura, she smiles at them.

BAKURA: Well why don't the two of you join us?

Joey ignores Bakura as he watches Mai take the first
nibble of a hot dog. Tristan smacks Joey's arm and
they sit down.

JOEY: So Mai are you enjoying that? (Smirks) It really
looks like you are.

Mai raises an eyebrow in confusion but both Tristan
and Bakura groan.

MAI: I guess so but it's a bit messy.

Mai wipes her mouth with a napkin as Joey, Tristan and
Bakura start snickering.

TRISTAN: Um, I'm gonna go to the can and I could be in
there a while.

BAKURA: That was a little bit more information than we
needed to know Tristan.

Tristan walks away as Joey eyes Mai she eats her
hotdog slowly.

BAKURA: I need to go myself, I have reading to do.
(Stands up) Cheerio.

Bakura grabs his bag from the book store Mai and Joey
wave good bye to him.

JOEY: Not for nothing but did you just happen to meet
up with Bakura?

Mai leaned back in her chair wrapping her finger
around a curly lock of her hair and winked at Joey.

MAI: Why do you ask Joseph? (Smirks) He left didn't
he?

Joey clears his throat then Tristan comes back and
thus he avoids answering her questions.

TRISTAN: Did Bakura leave? (Joey nods) That's too bad
I was hoping the four of us could hang around the
arcade.

MAI: Well we could still do that, there's a game I
want to try. You get on and have to use your body
movements on it.

JOEY: Yeah, I want you to try that game. (Blushes) I
mean I want to try that game.

TRISTAN: Yeah right. (Rolls his eyes) Come on you two.

Tristan walks ahead of Joey and Mai who walk side by
side but are not looking at each other. When they get
there they see Mako about to play a game with a fish
theme, they wave at him. Mai hands Joey her jacket and
she gets on the game she wanted to try. He grins
watching her move around on the game and she squealed,
he cheers her on of course.

JOEY: Come on Mai, you can do it!

Tristan gets tied of watching Joey drool over Mai so
he goes over to talk to Mako who is angry he just lost
his game.

MAKO: I can't believe I lost!

TRISTAN: Yeah, your luck has been all bad hasn't it?

MAKO: I want to see you try and play this game, you'll
lose just as I did.

TRISTAN: Oh you're on Mako.

MAKO: What about Joey and Mai? Don't they want to see
if you can get the whole catch?

TRISTAN: He's too busy trying to hook a catch he's
been after for a while now. (Smirks) He just doesn't
have enough bait.

MAKO: Still you can't blame him for trying.

That night Serenity's dream starts in a beautiful
field of wild flowers glistens in the morning sun, in
the middle of the field is Te'a and Mai. They are
picking poppies and putting them in a basket, they are
enjoying the day. Joey and Serenity are standing next
to each other watching.

SERENITY: I'm happy knowing everything from now on is
going to alright and all our problems are behind us.

JOEY: Yeah. You know sis' it's nice to see Mai and
Te'a getting along so well.

Serenity's alarm clock buzzed, she woke up and went to
take a shower. Meanwhile Mai was having a dream that
was very funny to her, she giggled in her sleep. In
her dream she's walking along a yellow brick road when
she notices a corn field and a scarecrow. She walks up
and looks at it closer, it's Joey and she snickers.

MAI: Let me guess, you don't have a brain, right?

JOEY: Not for nothing but how did you know that?

Mai laughs but then she really laughs when she notices
the tin man walking up to her is Seto.

MAI: Kaiba? (Smirks) I get it. (Laughs) You don't have
a heart.

Mai gives Joey a sultry glance as she tossed her long
hair back with her hand but Seto grabs her arm in
anger. His eye twitching as he growled, he raised his
other hand to wag his finger in her face.

SETO: Why don't you shut up Mai?! (Shoves Mai back
towards Joey) Don't included me when you fantasize
about Joey!

JOEY: Hey, you leave her alone tough guy or you'll
answer to me!

MAI: You'd have to get past his huge ego first, Joey.

SETO: It's no wonder the bimbo made you brainless in
her dream. (Smug laugh) It's so true.

MAI: Who are you calling a "bimbo" you... You
techno-geek! (Huffs) The only way you'll ever get a
girlfriend will be if you program one, because you
can't deal with anything or anyone that is real. Now
rust up you cold heartless tin skined jerk!

Seto rusts up before he can say anything back to Mai
and she tosses his oil can away with a chuckle.

JOEY: You said it Mai. (Gives Mai a thumbs up) So
anyway Mai, who is the Cowardly Lion?

Just then Bakura came out from behind some bushes as
the Cowardly Lion.

JOEY: Alright Mai, who do you have as the witch in
this dream of yours?

Mai snickers as witch Te'a flys in on her broom stick
with her flying monkey Tristan landing beside her.

TE'A: Agh! (Yells) I should have known it was Mai who
was having this dream!

TRISTIAN: Hey at least you're not a flying monkey!
(Pauses) Mai who do you have as the wizzard?

MAI: Who else?

EVERYONE: Yugi.

Mai wakes up and gets out of bed with a chuckle.

MAI: What a crazy dream.

Mai walks to her bathroom and starts running bath
water. Meanwhile Joey was thrashing around in his bed
dreaming again and again not about food. He was at the
mall looking for his friends when he noticed Mai and
Bakura sitting on a bench making out, it freaks him
out so much in this bad dream that he opens his eyes
growling in anger.

JOEY: Just a dream. (Sighs in relief, then laughs at
it) As if I had to worry about Mai with Bakura, huh?

Just then the phone rang and without getting out of
bed he answers it with only a groan, ironically it's
Mai.

MAI: Joseph, is that you?

JOEY: Mai?!

MAI: Yes, it's me. Hey what are you doing this morning
hon?

JOEY: I just woke up, I'm still in bed. (Yawns) Why do
you care so much what I'm doing so early in the
morning, Mai?

Mai retorted with that sexy yet evil smirk of hers, it
always made Joey feel so weak. To top it off, she
softly cooed into the phone making him weaker. He
gulped so hard she heard it over the phone and she
decided to really get him worked up.

MAI: I'm sitting naked in a hot bubble bath and I
started thinking about you, so I called you on my cell
phone to talk to you.

Joey in stunned silence is taken aback by what Mai
just told him for a moment, then he shakes himself out
of it.

JOEY: Mai?! (Nervously) Has the steam from the hot
water gone to your head, why would you tell me you're
naked for?

MAI: Well you don't think I'd take a bath in my
clothes do you? (Giggles) Besides it's not like you
can see anything over your telephone, huh Joey? (Come
hither voice) Too bad you're not here to scrub my back
for me, I could use some help. (Joey whimpers over the
phone) I guess I'll just have to manage it on my own,
so anyway what are you doing Joey?

JOEY: I told you I'm still in bed, I just woke up from
a dream about one minute before you called me.

MAI: Oh a dream, huh? (Anxiously) Was the dream about
me by any chance?

JOEY: Yeah, you were in it alright. I was in the mall
looking for my friends, then I saw you making out with
Bakura.

MAI: Bakura?!

JOEY: Yeah, isn't that hilarious?

Joey gets a dial tone for an answer when Mai hangs up
the phone on her end. Joey soon falls back asleep when
he starts to dream again. He dreams he's falling in
the darkness, then he lands inside a darkend maze.
Before him is three doors in a small hallway. He opens
door that is by it's self and out flies a tiny game
fairy that looks like his sister Serenity.

GAME FAIRY: Behold twin doors these are decisions in
your life. One will give you much joy but the other
much strife. Behind each one are things that could
happen to you in all your days. Also more twin doors
that lead you deeper into the maze. You be truthful
and pick wise for fate will haunt your heart if your
mind tells you lies.

JOEY: Um, so what door should I pick first?

GAME FAIRY: I am only your gentle guide but it is all
up to you to decide.

JOEY: I'll just take a look in both then, since that's
okay.

Joey opens the first door and sees something that
really shocks him. Mai is with him on a double date
with Yugi and Te'a.

GAME FAIRY: Is this the path that you seek or in the
other door do you wish to peek?

Joey shuts the door and opens the other door there he
looks at himself walking sadly from his friends with
bouquet of lavender roses. He walks into a mist of a
moonlit night to a tomestone that reads Mai Valentine.

DREAM JOEY: It's been awhile since I saw you, I miss
you. When I saw these roses reminded me of you,
beautiful, soft and they smell just as pretty as you
did. (Cries) It's my fault you're here Mai, I messed
up like I always do. I should of just told you the
truth, instead we had that huge fight and because of
it you're gone forever.

Joey falls to the ground crying over Mai's grave until
Maxamillion and Cecelia Pegasus walk up to him.

CELELIA: Maxi, we should help the poor boy. After all
you were able to return me to this world.

DREAM JOEY: I'll do anything to bring her back!
Anything!

Maxamillion Pegasus of course only smirks in a smug
manner.

CELELIA: Maxamillion?!

Joey slams the door shut and kicks it.

JOEY: There is no way I'm going to beg that blow hard
Pegasus for anything!

Joey walks back to the first door, once he walks in
the door behind him and the game fairy slams shut.

GAME FAIRY: Once a door shuts behind you it's locked
up tight. The other what could be is now gone from
sight.

Joey sees himself on his double date with Mai, as they
walk into a movie theater but he is blocked by the
twin doors again.

JOEY: I'm on a double date with Yugi, Te'a and Mai.
(Shrugs) So now I have to pick a door to see what
happends.

Joey opens the first door, he hears a loud fight
between him and Mai. He slams that door and moves to
the next, Mai is snuggled agaist him. Joey enters and
again the door slams shut.

GAME FAIRY: Good choice this will be, the other door
lead back to you begging Pegasus you see.

JOEY: You mean these doors sometimes lead back to
something that was the bad choice before?

GAME FAIRY: Yes and you choose what is best, do you
east or do you go west?

JOEY: So I got to go out on a double date with Mai,
Yugi and Te'a. (Shrugs) I guess I could do that, it's
not that bad.

Two twin doors appear before Joey on the wall next to
him, he looks in the first one. All his friends are
sad for he lays in a hospital bed unconscious and
looking pale. A worried Mai comes into the room her
arm in a sling, just then his heart monitor flat
lines. She lunges in a panic to give him mouth to
mouth but it's no use, she cries and feels along his
face.

MAI: Joey! Joey, why did I let you talk me into
letting you driving my car?

TE'A: This is all your fault Mai, Joey's dead because
of you!

JOEY: If you think I'm taking that door, your crazy!
Whatever this other door is has to be better than me
dying!

Joey shuts the door and opens the other one, inside he
sees a dark room but enters it anyway. The door again
slams shut then he hears Mai giggle and then Joey
wakes up to someone walking in his room, it's Mai.

MAI: Rise and shine, Joseph! (Giggles) Come on, get
up!

Joey grabs his pillow Mai grabs it, they get into a
bit of a tug of war with it.

JOEY: Mai, what are you doing here?!

MAI: Waking you up sleepy head.

JOEY: I was dreaming about something very important
but I think I know what it meant for the most part.

MAI: Joseph, what are you ranting about? (Scoffs) If
it's another dream about me kissing Bakura, I'm glad I
woke you up. I mean he's really cute and a nice enough
guy but I want... (Sighs) Nevermind, just tell me was
he in this last dream too?

JOEY: No he wasn't but did you come all the way over
here just to tell me you're not interested in Bakura?

MAI: No you doofus, I was going to hang around both
you and Serenity but she left with Te'a a few minutes
ago.

JOEY: So we're alone? (Gulps) Um, let me get dressed
and then we'll decided where we should go.

MAI: Can't we stay here and do something? (Sighs) I'll
wait for you in the living room.

Mai walks out of Joey's bedroom and into the living
room where she looks around for something to do. By
the time he gets dressed and joins her she has a movie
coming on, she's sitting on one side of the sofa. He
sits on the other side without looking at her but she
looks over at him. Then she scoots over very close to
him, this is making him very nervous.

JOEY: What's the movie?

MAI: It must be your sisters, it's Titanic. (Sighs)
It's such a romantic story.

JOEY: People died, how is that romantic? I mean the
boat sank when? Everyone should have been over it
along time ago.

MAI: Fine if you don't want to watch the movie, what
do you want to do?

It's obvious what Joey is thinking as he blushes hard
but he turns his head from Mai and clears his throat.

JOEY: We should leave the house, maybe go to the park?

MAI: Joseph are you afraid to be alone with me in this
house?

JOEY: What! You think I'm a scared or something?!

MAI: You're acting like a scared little puppy who just
got swatted with a shoe.

JOEY: Don't call me a puppy!

MAI: Hey you're the one who wants to go to the park.
So maybe I should put a collar and leash around you
neck, then take you for a walk. (Giggles) Maybe
afterwards I should take you to the vet to get your
shots and to get you neutered.

JOEY: Haven't you already emasculating me enough since
I've known you?! (Growls) Cut it out or else!

MAI: Or else what? Are you going to jump in my lap and
lick my face if I don't? (Whistles) Here boy, here
boy.

Enraged Joey leaps up, stands over a giggling Mai and
he wags his finger at her.

JOEY: That does it! (Growls) Just one more word about
puppy dogs, collars or leashs... And I'm gonna... I'm
gonna...

MAI: You're going to do what? (Crosses her legs)
Perhaps put me over your knees and spank me?

JOEY: Don't tempt me!

MAI: Why not? (Smirks) Oh come on, I'm not Seto Kaiba
you know? I was only joking.

JOEY: Why did you have to bring him up for? You know
I'd like nothing better than to knock his ego down a
few pegs.

MAI: Yes. It's no wonder he likes dragons so much, he
is one. A cold hearted fire hissing dragon, at least
dogs are loyal.

Mai winks at Joey who is so take aback by what she
said he can only twich and whimper. Then aggressively
she grabs his shirt collar and starts to pull him into
a kiss but the phone rings thus interrupting her
progess.

JOEY: The phone. I... I... I'll go answer it. (Walks
to the ringing phone and picks it up) Hello? (Pauses)
Yugi?

Mai walks to the bathroom and by the time she comes
out again. Tristan has come over and him and Joey stop
talking when she walks back into the living room. Both
guys just gawk at her and she wonders if they had been
talking about her.

TRISTAN: Hi Mai.

MAI: Tristan. (To Joey) If you want me to go, then
just say so?

JOEY: I don't want you to leave. (Hesitatingly) Why do
you think I did?

Mai looks over at Tristan and then back at Joey as to
give him an answer, then she sits in a seductive pose
on the sofa.

TRISTAN: Uh, huh. (To Joey) Look I think I better go,
you and Mai need to be alone. (Smiles mischievously)
To talk.

JOEY: Nah, you don't have to go. (Tristan waves and
walks out anyway) What is going on here?!

Tristan snickers as he walks down to the street, then
he looks back at Joey's place for a moment.

TRISTAN: No wonder little Joey was shaking in his
sneakers.

Tristan walks off. Meanwhile Joey and Mai look at each
other in an uncomfortable silence before he thinks of
something.

JOEY: We could go shopping?

MAI: Really? (Stands up) You had to pull the trump
card out on me, didn't you? Knowing my weakness for
shopping.

* Loves Me or Loves Me Not *

Rebecca Hawkins is in the food court she just tossed
something in the trash when she and Mokuba Kaiba
notice each other at the same time.

REBECCA: I remember you, yes you're Mokuba Kaiba. You
can tell your big brother Seto I want to duel him.

MOKUBA: You? (Laughs) I don't think Seto would want to
wipe the floor with such a little girl.

REBECCA: Your brother Seto is a big jerk for tearing
up the blue eyes white dragon my grandfather gave to
Yugi's grandfather. Where is your brother?

MOKUBA: Seto is busy, that's why I'm stuck here
talking to a nut who used to talk to a stuffed bear!

Rebecca shoves Mokuba and the two of them stare each
other down just as Yugi walks up to them.

YUGI: Rebecca, Mokuba! (Stands between them) I don't
know what this is about but can't you two talk things
out?

MOKUBA: She wants to duel Seto because of the blue
eyes of your grampa's he tore up and I think she's
nuts.

YUGI: I see. (To Rebecca) It was wrong for Seto to
tear that card but it's be a long time since that
happend.

MOKUBA: Yeah, can't you just get over it?

REBECCA: Well if Yugi can, then I guess I can too.

YUGI: Good, now I can go back to looking for Te'a.
She's got to be around here some place.

REBECCA: But I still want to duel Seto just because.

Yugi leaves Rebecca and Mokuba as they shake hands.
Meanwhile Joey holds the door open for Mai but when
she starts inside she bumps right into Seto walking
out.

SETO: Why don't you look where you're going you ditzy
blonde?!

MAI: How dare you defile the dignity of a lady like
me, you dork!

JOEY: Yeah, what's your problem Kaiba?!

SETO: Why don't you go look in a mirror and get back
to me when you figure that out for yourself, puppy
dog?

MAI: Oooo... Seto, you attempted to be droll but you
came up with that lame insult instead.

SETO: Oh great, now I have two dumb blondes to deal
with. (Smirks) The chihuahua and his toy poodle b...

Mai slaps Seto across his face before he can finish
talking. Joey jumps in right between them, gets in
Seto's face.

JOEY: Hey tough guy, you can pick on me all you want
but you leave Mai alone! (Seto laughs) I said leave
her alone!

SETO: You gonna make me, puppy dog? (Chuckles) You and
how many of your friends?

JOEY: Just you and me, anytime you're ready, you ego
maniac! I'll teach you better than to treat a lady
like Mai that way!

SETO: I don't want to get into to this with you but
there would be only two hits. Me hitting you and you
hitting the ground.

Mai pushes both Seto and Joey apart. Seto shoves her
roughly towards Joey but she kicks him in the shin and
he groans.

JOEY: Whoa, be still my beatin' heart! (Cheers Mai on)
Make him squeal like the pig he is.

SETO: Woof woof! Now roll over and play dead puppy
dog. (Mai kicks him in the shin again but harder)
Owww!

MAI: Look, you leave Joey alone! (Huffs) And if you
ever handle me that roughly again! You'll get my boot
about a foot and a half higher! It will also be a lot
harder!

Seto gives Mai a "yeah right" look, then tries to get
past her but Joey stops him again.

JOEY: You don't ever touch Mai like that ever again,
you don't even give her so much as one of your cold
looks. You don't even think about brushing past her,
do you understand me?

SETO: Get away from me Fido before I call the pound.
(To Mai) Do you want to see me beat your boyfriend to
a pulp?

MAI: Touch him and you'll be hitting higher notes than
I can. (Scowling) Just try me hotshot!

Seto turns away from Mai as she raises her foot up
slightly, Joey notices a small bit of fear in his cold
blue eyes.

JOEY: I guess we really know who the scared little
puppy dog is now, don't we? The great Seto Kaiba is
afraid of a girl.

Seto's eye started twitching with a deep annoyance at
both Joey and Mai, as loud growl rumbled up from his
chest.

MAI: You're right Joey. He does look a little bit like
a blue eyed Cocker Spaniel, one whose bark is worse
than his bite.

Joey and Mai laugh together, Seto felt his temples
going into hyperactive pulse as his eye twitched so
hard it hurt.

SETO: I haven't got time to put you and your
girlfriend in your place. Later if I'm bored but I'm
too busy right now.

MAI: Well don't go away mad Seto, just go away. (High
fives Joey) Burn!

Seto tried to walk away but he felt violent spasms all
over his face, he had to have the last word.

SETO: Just do me a favor you two, don't have any
puppies. There's enough stupid mutts in the world as
it is.

With a smirk Seto walks away looking for something,
Mai and Joey look at each other uneasy for a moment.

MAI: He must be busy trying to find a personality.

Joey and Mai head down the Mall when they see a banner
with a huge donut on it, he lifts his leg as he
stretches his arms out.

JOEY: Gigantic donut! (Mai grabs his ear and drags him
away by it) Ow! Ow! Ow! Let go of me! Ow! Ow! Ow!

MAI: Oh no, you're hyperactive enough as you are
without fueling up on sugar. We'll go shopping for
clothes first.

JOEY: But Mai! (Groans) I really, really want it!
(Begging) Please let me?!

MAI: I get the feeling I'll be hearing you say that
again sooner or later.

Mai giggles as she lets go of Joey's ear but something
else catches her attention, much to his relief.

JOEY: What are you looking at Mai?

Mai motions Joey with her hand to come see, he does.
The two blondes focus becomes Rebecca hugging the
stuffing out of Mokuba the way she used to do her
teddy bear. A chuckle rose from Joey as the two
youngsters walked closer to them.

MAI: Oh how completely adorable!

REBECCA: You're comeing with me rather you like it or
not!

MOKUBA: Cut it out Rebecca! (Sees Joey and Mai) Oh no!

JOEY: Well what do we have here? (Slyly to Mai) I
think someone has a little crush on someone else, hum?

Mai looks guity as she looks away for a moment, she
avoids looking back at Joey.

MOKUBA: Can you two get her away from me please?

JOEY: Maybe you'd better give your girlfriend a big
kiss before she gets really mad at you, huh Mokuba?

MOKUBA: Shut up, Joey!

Joey laughs and makes kissy sounds, that is until Mai
gets him in a head lock like she had Te'a in the past.

JOEY: Hey, get off of me! (Chokes) Your strong for a
girl, now I know why Seto got away from you so fast.

MOKUBA: Maybe you'd better give your girlfriend a big
kiss before she gets really mad at you, huh Joey?

JOEY: Don't mock me half pint. (Frees himself from
Mai's grip) Were you trying to brake my back, Mai?

MAI: No Joseph. (Sighs) Hey I have an idea, lets go
talk about all this over some ice cream.

Joey is just as childish over the idea of ice cream as
Rebecca and Mokuba are. In fact he beats them and Mai
to the shop, he's drooling over the many kinds of
flavors.

JOEY: Oh man! (Snickers) Is there a way I can have a
scoop of each one or maybe two scoops?

MAI: Well kids we better hurry up and decide what to
get before Joey eats it all up himself.

Soon Joey has a huge bowl of ice cream he eats it as
usual. Rebecca and Mokuba have cones, Mai has a small
paper cup.

REBECCA: I've never seen anything eat like him and not
even on my grandfathers safaris.

MOKUBA: I hate to agree with you Rebecca but in this
case I have to.

MAI: Out of the mouths of babes. (Hand Joey a napkin)
Here wipe your mouth Joseph.

REBECCA: Do you have to be a big dumb monkey with no
manners?

JOEY: Well at least I'm not a bitter self-righteous,
self absorbed shrew who has no friends. You're so
conceited. You're so full of yourself. (Mocking tone)
Look at me, I'm a so blonde! I love to look in the
mirror because I love myself so much.

MOKUBA: Are you talking about Mai or Rebecca?
(Chuckles) Or both of them?

JOEY: Good point Mokuba because I so see how these two
are so much alike.

REBECCA: Get him back Mai, we don't have to take this
from these two apes.

MAI: I should be mad but I know Joey doesn't really
mean it. (Winks) He's just doesn't want to admit his
true feelings, do you Joseph? (Joey blushes but still
tries to be aloof) You know, we should double duel
them sometime Rebecca.

Mai giggles while watching Joey's blush turn to red
hot rage, for she knows all to well what's coming
next.

JOEY: Bring it on Mai, I'll duel you anytime because
I'll win just like I did before.

REBECCA: I bet if you really tried Mai, you could beat
the pants off of Joey.

Both Mai and Joey blush as Mokuba watches them both
react to what Rebecca said.

MOKUBA: Oh? (Snickers) I know who really has a crush
on someone else. (Singing) Joey and Mai sitting in a
tree K.I.S.S. I. N.G. first comes love, then comes
mar...

Mai interrupts Mokuba by shoving a spoonfull of her
ice cream into his mouth, Rebecca snickers.

REBECCA: Oooo... The truth hurts.

MOKUBA: Agh! Will you stop talking?!

Just then Seto walks in on them, he's not happy to see
Joey and Mai sitting with his little brother Mokuba.

SETO: Mokuba what are doing with Wheeler and
Valentine? (Looking at Rebecca) And who is this little
girl?

REBECCA: I'm not a little girl, I'm Rebecca Hawkins!
(Huffs) Seto Kaiba, you tore the blue eyes white
drangon my grandfather gave Yugi Mutou's grandfather.
I want to challenge you to a duel, not for what you
did but to see who is best.

Seto explodes with laughter as the Rebecca walks over
to him with her deck.

SETO: Yeah right, me duel a little girl like you?
(Smirks) Isn't it past your bed time? (Grabs Mokuba's
hand) Come on Mokuba, your double date with your new
little girlfriend and Joey Wheeler with his girlfriend
is over.

JOEY & MOKUBA: (In unison) She is not my girlfriend!

Seto gets his usual smug look on his face as he starts
walking with Mokuba.

REBECCA: What about our duel?! (Seto and Mokuba exit)
This is so unfair!

MAI: Look kid, I'll save you some time. (Smirks) Seto
is far too smug to ever duel you, sorry hon but that's
that.

JOEY: Mai's right. (Smirks) Besides something tells me
you're more interested in Mokuba.

REBECCA: I am not! (Stomps her foot) I can't stand
him! (Huffs) He's just a long haired obnoxious gutter
punk.

Mai flashes back to Duelist kingdom after Joey beat
her and she had hallucinations of him in the sunset,
she smirked.

MAI: To quote a line from Shakespeare's Hamlet. "The
lady doth protest too much, me thinks."

JOEY: Huh? (Rubs his chin) Eh, I can never understand
anything that Shakespeare guy wrote.

MAI: There's a shocker. (Smirks) Joey you are such a
brainless little snot sometimes.

JOEY: And you're a stuck up little priss. (Growls) Why
don't you just tell me what Shakespeare meant by that
line?

MAI: Fine you big dumb jerk and I'll use small words
so you'll be sure to understand me. (Sighs) It means
that she is fighting the fact that she really likes
him, she's in denial. So she hides that fact by
insulting him and a bit too much I might add.

REBECCA: Oh really? Then judging by the way you two
treat each other, you must like each other a whole
bunch.

JOEY: Um...

Joey shakes his head as Mai bites her bottom lip.

REBECCA: Oh I think it does. (Snickers) I'll leave you
two alone so you can figure it out on your own.

Rebecca exits as Joey and Mai look at each other for a
moment but then he decides just to finish his ice
cream. Mai looks at hers but it's melted, then she
looks around and sees Bakura sitting on a bench just
outside the shop.

MAI: Look Joey, there's Bakura.

Mai points to Bakura just outside the window of the
shop, then Joey turns his head to see him too.

JOEY: Yeah, that is Bakura.

MAI: Well he's sitting on a bench just like in that
dream of yours, remember?

JOEY: Yeah I remember. (Shrugs) So what?

MAI: Do you think I should make your dreams come ture?
(Smirks) You can watch me go out there and give him a
kiss?

Joey is very annoyed at Mai's sarcasm at this point
but then he notices that Bakura has walked away.

JOEY: Too late, he's gone. (Snickers) Looks like you
missed your chance, too bad.

Mai gets angry at Joey but decides to pull his chain
instead of yelling at him.

MAI: Not really, I could call him next time I take a
hot bubble bath. Then go over and wake him up from his
dreams.

Joey is obviously getting very angry and totally
frustrated with Mai, he's bending his plastic ice
cream spoon.

JOEY: It isn't going to work, I'm not going lose
control of my temper.

Joey breaks the plastic spoon, a piece goes flying
across the shop, Mai looks at him with a smug smirk.

MAI: Oh your not, huh?

Joey winces before running out of the ice cream shop,
without another word and Mai sinks in her chair. Then
she decides to go looking for him, by the time she
does he is talking to Te'a and Yugi.

YUGI: Mai, I'm sure you and Joey need to talk. If
you'll excuse us we're going to see a movie.

JOEY: A movie? (Recalls his dream) No way! (Grabs
Mai's arm) Hey hold up you two how about if we go with
you?

TE'A: Joey, me and Yugi are on a date.

MAI: What's the matter with you Joseph? We can't crash
their date like this.

YUGI: If it's alright with Te'a, then it's alright
with me.

TE'A: Well alright as long as you sit at least a few
seats away from us and don't bother us.

JOEY: Sure, you won't even know we're there.

Mai is upset with Joey as they enter the movie theater
with Te'a and Yugi. The couples split up but are on
the same row.

MAI: I can't believe you, we have no business tagging
alone on their date.

JOEY: But they said they were fine with it, so why is
it bothering you so much? Besides there are other
people here too.

MAI: Nevermind Joseph, you're too much of a bone head
to figure it out anyway. Just watch the movie when it
starts.

The lights dim and the movie starts, then Joey notices
Yugi and Te'a have their arms around each other.

JOEY: Hey Mai, look they are hugging over there.

MAI: Shhh! (Softly) Just watch the movie and leave
them alone, don't even stare at them.

Joey is bored watching the movie only after a few
minutes but Mai really is, her eyes close and she
falls over on him.

JOEY: This is like my dream. (Holds Mai's head on his
shoulder) So no asking to drive her car tonight.

Mai snuggles agaist Joey's arm but she wakes up a few
moments later, she backs away from him.

MAI: Sorry Joey. (Yawns) But this movie is so boring.
How many movies can they make about brides and grooms?

JOEY: The same recycled plot. Either she has to decide
which guy to get hiched to or he has two girls after
him.

Joey wraps his arm around Mai's shoulder possessively
she didn't pull back so he started stroking a curl of
her hair.

MAI: Eh, what were they thinking with that awful
wedding dress? Gloves and long soild sleeves and that
stiff high collar. (Sighs) It's so plain, there's no
peek a boo lace, no little bead buttons down the back.

Joey smirked as he tried to figure out what kind of
wedding dress Mai would wear, then he laughted.

JOEY: No micro mimi skirt, bare shoulders and tight
drawstring over the cleavage. Matching vest and boots
of course.

MAI: Umph! (Exasperated) What do you plan on wearing
as the groom? Black jeans, sneakers and a tuxedo
T-shirt?

JOEY: Jeeze Mai, I haven't even had my prom yet.
(Changing the subject fast) Since we're both so bored
of this movie. Um, maybe we should get out of here and
leave the two love birds alone.

Mai nods her head as she and Joey slip out of the
theater, then she stops at a store window.

MAI: Wait Joey, I want to go in here before we leave.

JOEY: Aphrodite's Temple?! (Shakes his head) That's a
lacy girly shop, I can't go in there!

MAI: Fine meet me back here in an hour.

JOEY: An hour? (Scoffs) It takes that long for a girl
to shop for underwear? With a guy it's in, out and
it's done.

MAI: It's like that with almost everything a guy dose,
isn't it? (Sighs) It's a wonder us gals even bother.

Mai walks into the shop then it slowly sinks into
Joey's head what she was getting at and he becomes
annoyed by her again. He spends the hour looking in
the shop windows when in the flower shop something
catches his eye, lavender roses.

JOEY: Oh wow! This is too freaky!

Joey goes into the flower shop and comes back out with
one perfect lavender rose, just then he sees Mai
looking for him.

MAI: Oh here you are. (Notices the rose) Oh what a
beautiful rose!

JOEY: I figured you'd like it Mai, since it matches
your clothes and smells as good as you always do.

Joey hands the rose to Mai and she hugs him tightly.

MAI: Oh thank you. (Leans into Joey more) You're
always thinking of me Joey.

Joey doesn't say anything but he mouths the words,
" You have no idea how much." Mai takes his hand and
they walk out of the mall, they get into her car. The
night drive is dark and quiet, too quiet. She pulls
over in a park parking lot with only the only light
coming from the full moon above them. Nervously he
looks over at her, wondering just why she pulled over.

JOEY: What did we stop for?

MAI: It's a nice night, I thought we could enjoy it
before I take you home.

Joey looks up at the full moon sort of bored until he
feels Mai's hand rest on his knee, totally flustered
he jumps. His face quivers just the slightest bit as
she squeezes his knee. This is uncharted territory,
even for Mr. Tough Attitude.

JOEY: Mai?! What are you doing?!

Mai only winked at Joey, then she inched closer to him
and his eyes opened wider than his mouth.

MAI: Nothing. What are you doing?

With a sly smirk Mai backs away and starts the car but
Joey became very curious. As he watched every move she
made on the drive back to his place, he noticed how
she would glace at him when she could. However when
they pulled up his focus became his sister Serenity
kissing one of his best friends, Tristan. He so upset
he jumps out of the car with a grunt as Mai gets out
of the car. Joey gets into a fight with Tristan right
then and there, the two females look at each other
unsure what to do. Tristan smirked, grabbing Joey in a
headlock but not undeservingly, gets punched for it.
Then shoving the taller boy away from him Joey pants
hard, as Mai walks up to them. She giggled as the
whole situation became very amusing to her but she
looked over at Joey's sister. Serenity was about to
cry, she walks over to Joey's baby sister as the guys
wrestle each other.

MAI: Male hormones. (Smirks) Sometimes their
testosterone levels make them fight each other like
big dumb apes.

Joey and Tristan glace over at Mai before the struggle
continues between them. Then the brunette lands a
right cross to the blondes jaw but he answers back
with a stomach punch. Then both of them just glare at
each other for a moment.

TRISTIAN: What's the matter are you mad because you
don't know how to kiss a girl yourself? (To Mai) Maybe
once little Joey grows up you two can arrange a few
lip locks, I hope you don't mind waiting that long,
Mai.

JOEY: That's it! (Growls in anger) Nobody but nobody
insults my masculinity and gets away with it!

Tristan prepares to sock Joey expecting him to come
after him again but instead Joey glanced back over his
shoulder. He looks Mai up and down with a wild leer.
Her violet eyes meet the intensity of those dark
chocolate brown eyes behind his dark blonde locks of
hair. She flinches as the corner of his mouth turned
up ever so slighty. She felt the heat rise to her
cheeks as he took her into his arms and narrow his
leer at her. Serenity finds this amusing as she
watches her older brother start to kiss Mai. Tristan's
jaw drops because Mai isn't stopping Joey from kissing
her. In fact she lifts her leg from the knee behind
her. Then he leans her back not breaking the lip lock
he had on her. Mai's arms fell to her side like wet
noodles as it because very clear that she was highly
enjoying Joey's burning kiss. He then wisks her around
to his side, exhaling as she grins and he blushes.
Joey then shoots a very smug look over to Tristan,
then so did Mai.

MAI: Well I believe you have that question answered
for you, don't you Tristan?

TRISTIAN: You tell me or did he melt your brain?

MAI: Not my brain. (Snickers) I'll tell you about it
while I drive you home, so you two boys don't fight
anymore.

SERENITY: Thank you Mai, that's a really great idea.

Mai drags Tristan to her car and driving off with him.
Joey turns to his sister Serenity who has her arms
crossed in anger.

SERENITY: Joey, why do you treat your friend Tristan
like that?

JOEY: I'll treat any guy like that, who kisses my
little sister like that.

Serenity cries as she goes into the house, Joey
follows her but gets a cold shoulder from his sister.
Meanwhile Mai reaches for the lavender rose Joey gave
to her, a smile sweeps over her face as Tristan exits
with a good night wave. After a nights sleep Joey
wakes up very late in the morning, he gose into the
living room and really freaks out. His sister is
sitting on the sofa with Duke kissing him like crazy.
Joey loses it, he grabs Duke and flings him out the
door without a word.

SERENITY: Joey?!

JOEY: What is going on here? First you're kissing
Tristan then I catch you kissing Duke Devlin?

SERENITY: I haven't decided who I should be with. Oh
that reminds me I have another date in an hour.

JOEY: Serenity no, you're not going out on a date with
Duke or Tristan in an hour!

SERENITY: That's right, I have a date with someone
else. See you later big brother.

Serenity bounces out the door with Joey calling after
her.

JOEY: Hey you get back here and tell me who it is, so
I know who to beat up next!

Joey hurries back to his room to dress as fast as he
can, he then starts out the door to follow Serenity
but Mai drives up.

MAI: Hey where's the fire, hotshot?

Joey jumps in Mai's car and she looks at him with
wonder.

JOEY: Turn this car around and find my sister, she
couldn't have gone far.

Mai turns her car back and notices Serenity getting
into someones car, she taps Joey on the shoulder.

MAI: She got in the passenger side of that car but
don't worry, I can keep up with them.

Mai stays with the car until they drive just out of
town, on a dead end road with a few driveways on it
and she turns around.

JOEY: You lost them Mai.

MAI: Not for long, they must have turned into one of
these places back down the street. Look on your side
for them.

Mai drives slowly looking on her side as well but then
she notices a circus, she taps Joey's shoulder again
and he looks.

JOEY: That's gotta be it. Turn in! Turn in!

MAI: I will but calm down will you?

Mai drives down the drive way to the circus, then her
and Joey get out. They split up to look for Serenity,
he hears her laugh.

JOEY: I know it's you Serenity, show yourself and that
chump you're with!

Serenity comes around a small booth by herself with
her arms crossed, then Mai walks up too.

SERENITY: Mai could you do me a favor and take my
brother home before I get really mad at him?

MAI: Look hon, I think you two should work this out on
your own together.

With an irritated groan Joey's eyes narrow but then
Seto's shadow crosses between him and Serenity.

SETO: Serenity where did you go? (Walks from where
Serenity just came from) Serenity?

MAI: Uh, oh! (With dread) Serenity you're on a date
with Seto Kaiba?

Joey is so furious at seeing Seto and finding out he's
who Serenity had a date with, that his face is full of
red hot rage. Mai holds Joey back from taking a swing
at Seto but she has to get him in a head lock to hold
him.

JOEY: Mai let go of me! (Grunts) I'm going to kick me
some Kaiba butt!

SETO: Mai you better go put Joey in some water before
he burns to a crisp. (Laughs) He looks like a real hot
dog.

MAI: Calm down Joey! (Grabs Joey's jaw) This how he
wants you to react you know, just consider the source.

JOEY: I am considering the source Mai, it's Seto Kaiba
scourge of my existence and he's on a date with my
baby sister! (Growls with anger, trying to get past
Mai) That is until I get a hold of him! Then he's
toast!

SETO: Bad dog! (To Mai) Mai it looks to me like you
need to train your mutt by spanking him with a
newspaper. (Laughs evilly) You do know there are leash
laws for your little pet puppy, don't you Mai?

MAI: Agh! If you don't shut it Seto, I'll help Joey
out by smacking you on top of your big fat melon!

SETO: So the blonde amazon really does think she's
bad. Lucky for you, I don't hit girls but I'll take it
out on your mutt.

MAI: Serenity, is Seto really the type of guy you want
to date or are you just doing this to get back at your
brother?

All eyes fall on Serenity as she walks up to Joey, he
calms down when she hugs him but then she walks over
to Seto.

SERENITY: Mai take Joey home please? Seto will bring
me home after we see everything and have been on all
the rides.

Serenity waves at Joey and Mai as she walks off with
Seto. Joey strugles with Mai's hold on him, her boots
are dragging.

JOEY: No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No!
No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No! No!

Joey finally drags Mai to the point where she loses
her footing. Which causes him to slip in mud, he tries
to keep them both from falling but he fails. She lands
in a pile of hay and he lands right on top of her,
which causes the circus carnies to laugh.

MAI: Joey get off of me before these carnival people
what to make this a side show act!

Joey blushes as he slides off of Mai and helps her up.
They pick staw out of each other hair, then she drags
him off.

JOEY: Hey we can't go we gotta get my sister from
Kaiba and bring her home!

MAI: Joey stop and listen to me for a few minutes,
hon. The more you tighten your grip, the more your
sister is going to fight you on who she's with. Trust
me on this, you are being way too over protective.
Look, I know about these situations.

JOEY: She's still my little sister, Mai. (Sighs) She's
always counted on me to look out for her and that
means no Kaiba.

MAI: If you want Kaiba out of the picture, then you'll
have to do what I'm about to tell you but don't get
mad. If you become best pals with Seto and say nothing
bad about him, she'll likely dump him like a bad
habit.

JOEY: What?! (Scoffs) You're asking me to like that
cold hearted Seto Kaiba?!

MAI: With gusto! (Smirks) That is if you want to beat
him at his own game? I mean he is on a date with your
cute and sweet sister, think about it. How else could
he really get under your skin, other than a D.M. duel
with you?

JOEY: You're right! Why that under handed jerk!
(Pauses) But what about Duke and Tristan?

MAI: Pick the one you want you're sister to end up
with and fight with him, that will send her running
right into his arms. Then treat the other one like you
did Seto Kaiba, then you'll only have to deal with
your sister going on dates with one guy.

JOEY: That's pretty smart, Mai but I don't know, I
don't want her going on dates with any of them.

MAI: Well now you're asking for the impossible!
(Sighs) She isn't a hot house flower you can just keep
inside you know?

JOEY: Please tell me Mai, I need to know. Why is it
that a stunning beauty with everything going for
her... (Sighs) Will fall for some goofball who is
totally out of her league?

Mai smiles at Joey knowingly, then she gives him a
soft pat on his cheek and looks into his big brown
eyes.

MAI: A certain loyal naive charm, a cute smile, the
way he always surprises her and he is there when she
really needs him.

Mai can't help but to give Joey a small kiss on his
forehead but then interrupting them Serenity who is
upset.

SERENITY: Sorry but Seto made me so mad just now.

JOEY: What did he do to you?

SERENITY: Joey, I didn't like something he said about
you just now.

MAI: As opposed to something to do with a collar and
leash?

SERENITY: I don't want to talk about it, I'll just
wait by the car. (Walking off) Don't be too long you
two.

MAI: We'll be right there hon! (To Joey) Well you got
your way without having to do anything.

JOEY: There is one thing I have to do Mai.

MAI: What's that?

JOEY: I'm about to surprise you again.

Joey takes Mai in his arms and leans her back into a
big kiss, she is taken by surprise. However she then
wraps her arms around him, she feels his knees shake
and then they stop. He has a big grin on his face,
wimpers and passes out cold.

MAI: Hmph! Joseph?! (Sighs) Wake up Joey.

Joey opens his eyes and looks up at Mai from the
ground, then she helps him up.

JOEY: Um, maybe we better go now?

Joey walks past Mai to the car where his sister
Serenity has been watching the whole thing between the
two blondes.

SERENITY: Don't you think you should ask Mai, you
know?

JOEY: I'm not sure what you mean but I... (Mai walks
up behind him) Not for nothing but are we gonna go or
not Mai?

MAI: Serenity you get in the back seat, Joey you're
shotgun. (Winks) I want to keep my eye on you.

Mai unlocks the doors and Serenity gets in first, Joey
gets in but when Mai gets in she just sit there.

SERENITY: Before you tell my brother you're out of
gas, keep in mind I'm back here.

Mai starts the car without a word as Joey watches her
drive the car. When they get back home both Serenity
and Joey motion to Mai to come inside. However Mai
drives off with only a small wave, this ticks Joey off
of course.

JOEY: That girl makes me so mad I could just...
(Serenity giggles) What's so funny?!

Serenity goes inside without a word, while Joey stomps
his foot because of both his sister and Mai. Meanwhile
Mai drives right by Bakura before she turns back to
talk to him, she opens the passager side door.

MAI: Bakura, get in. I'll take you where ever it is
you are going.

Bakura without a word gets into Mai's car but they
just look at each other for a moment.

BAKURA: Were you drivng from the Wheeler place,
because that's where I'm going.

MAI: Oh don't tell me you made a date with Serenity
Wheeler too?!

BAKURA: No. (Uneasy laugh) Were you on a date with
Joey Wheeler?

MAI: It wasn't a date! I will take you there. (To
herself) It will give me an excuse to bug Joey about
that dream again.

When Mai drives back Joey is still outside, he's
surprised to see her but even more surprised to see
Bakura with her.

JOEY: Bakura what are you doing with Mai?!

BAKURA: Mai was good enough to give me a lift here.

MAI: I figured I'd save Bakura some wear and tear on
his shoes.

JOEY: If he's here to go on a date with my sister you
can forget it Bakura!

BAKURA: Why do the two of you think I had a date with
your sister Joey?

JOEY: Because everyone else is dating her and I know
you did not come over here to take me on a date.

MAI: Oh? (Sarcastically) Why not? I mean the two of
you are cute as a couple of buttons.

Mai laughs out of control while both Bakura rolls his
eyes and Joey gets angry.

BAKURA: Sorry Joey's not my type. (Smirks) If it's a
choice between the two of you, I pick you Mai. You
also have much better table manners and not as hot
tempered.

JOEY: You're not my type either but I doubt you could
handle Mai. I think she would chew you up and spit you
out.

MAI: Oh Joey, you couldn't handle me either and you're
the only one who spits when you chew.

JOEY: That's it Mai, your asked for it and your going
to get it!

Joey runs towards Mai as she runs around her car
laughing like crazy but Bakura isn't sure what's going
on with the blondes. Mai keeps going around the car
until Joey jumps up and slides across the hood, she
screams. Then he grabs her around her waist with one
arm and holds his hand over her mouth with his other
hand.

BAKURA: Joey you can't hit a girl, it's not right!

JOEY: I'm not going to hit her but I am going to get
even with her!

While Mai kicks and screams Joey picks her up in his
arms, Bakura follows them inside.

MAI: Let go of me Joseph Wheeler! (Reaches for Bakura
as he shuts the door) Help me Bakura?!

Joey puts Mai on the sofa and won't let her up, this
makes Bakura feel like a third wheel.

BAKURA: I'll be in the kitchen, I could use a glass of
water.

As Bakura exits the room Joey leans in to give Mai a
kiss but she reaches under his shirt and he looks at
her with wonder.

JOEY: What are you doing Mai?!

Mai answers Joey as she tickels him mercilessly, he
falls to the floor laughing out of control and she
bends over him.

MAI: Admit it Joey.

JOEY: Admit what Mai?

MAI: You are jealous, because I'm friendly with him
and I think he's almost as cute as you are.

JOEY: I am not jealous of Bakura. (Scoffs) If you want
him, go give him a big kiss and get off of my back
about it!

Bakura walks back in, he stands just a foot away from
Joey and Mai.

BAKURA: Maybe I should go?

MAI: Bakura, you stay right there. (Stands up) Joey
made the suggestion that I should give you something.

Joey doesn't say anything, so Mai reaches over and
gives Bakura a small hug but nothing else.

BAKURA: Oh a friendly hug, that is nice of you Mai.

Joey leaps to his feet, his anger boiling over as Mai
leans over about to kiss a totally clueless Bakura.

BAKURA: What is it Mai, is there something in my hair
or something?

JOEY: Mai, you wouldn't dare!

MAI: Why not? It's not like you care, right Joey?

Mai leans mere inches from Bakura, he figures out what
she's about to do but Joey pulls her away as she
puckers her lips.

JOEY: That's it! (Growls with anger) You win Mai, I
admit it! Are you happy now?!

Mai with a long sly smirk musses Joey's hair, while
Serenity walks in and stands next to Bakura.

BAKURA: I'm not sure what's going on here and I'm not
too sure I want to know. However I really just came
over here to see if you Joey and the rest of the group
wanted to go see the free magic show in town?

SERENITY: We'd love to Bakura, it sounds like a blast.

JOEY: Well yeah but Yugi and Te'a are on a date. I
don't know where Tristan is, I know he's not at home
right now for sure. Not for nothing but it might be a
good idea to clear out before our Dad gets home.

Both Joey and Serenity share a sad knowing look, this
gets past Bakura's radar but not Mai's. She watches
the siblings closely they both seem to know something
nobody else know about the Wheeler family.

MAI: Serenity, Joey I have seen your mother but not
your father. May I ask why not?

JOEY: No! (Defensively) You may not ask Mai, just drop
it! (Walking towards the door) We'll just go to the
magic show.

MAI: Alright Joey but I'm sorry if I...

JOEY: I'll forgive you if you don't say anything else
about it and I mean never bring it up again. Do we
have a deal?

MAI: Sure, I guess so.

Joey walks out and waits by the car, he stares at Mai
as she walks past him. Bakura opens the back car door
for Serenity.

SERENITY: Oh thank you Bakura.

With Bakura and Serenity in the back seat and Joey in
the passager seat, Mai gets in the drivers seat. There
is an uncomfortable silence in the car the whole way
to the magic show for everyone.

MAI: Well we are here, everybody out.

BAKURA: I heard this is a pretty good show but even if
it isn't, it's free. So what does it matter?

Joey gets out of the car and is the first one to sit
in the back row, Mai sits right next to him. While
Bakura and Serenity sit on the other side of Joey. The
magic show starts with the rabit in the hat trick but
Mai is too busy worrying about Joey.

MAI: Joey? (Joey looks at her) Are you alright?

JOEY: I'm fine Mai. I'm just thinking that's all.

Joey has left himself wide open for one of Mai's quips
but she fights her urge to say it, she takes his hand
instead.

MAI: If you need me, I'll always be here for you.
(Mischievously) You know I'd do anything for you Joey,
don't you?

Joey looks at Mai as she gives him a warm smile but he
doesn't say anything. This only makes her desperate to
pry something out of him, so she leans over and blows
in his ear. When this fails she leans closer and
whispers something in his ear that makes his jaw drop
and he blushes. He whimpers as she whispers something
else in his ear he turns from red to purple. When he
looks at her he can't help but smile at her, he does
so in a very cute shy way.

JOEY: Sheesh Mai! (Sheepishly) I can't believe you
said that to me. I guess you would do anything for me,
huh?
