[ Chapter 1 ]

~Ok this if a fanfic mainly about Joey and Seto/Serenity. Of course, Yugi is the star of the show so he is in it as well. Everyone is there but don't play such a big role...Anyway, It starts off when the day Serenity finally gets those bandages taken off...~

*Joey is outside Serenity's room not wanting to go in because he doesn't know what to expect. If Serenity's eyes were to heal perfectly, he does not know, but it's what he hopes. The door opens and the doctors come out. They looked disappointed.*

Doctor: Sorry Joey, but I'm afraid that your sister is blind. There is nothing more that we can do.

Joey: Oh...thanks for everything doc.

*He rushes in Serenity's room. He sees her holding a pillow to her face.*

Joey: Serenity. It's going to be okay. It doesn't matter if you are blind or not, at least we are together again. Right?

Serenity:...

Joey:Serenity...

*Joey tries to move the pillow, and he gives up, sits next to her, and cries. Serenity puts the pillow down.*

Serenity:Surprise!

Joey: Huh?!

Serenity:I tricked you, I wanted to find out how you'll react. I told the doctors to say that.

*Joey smiles and hugs his sister.*

Joey:Okay, lets get out of this hospital. I have to take you to meet my friends.

Serenity:Is he one of them (giggles)?

*Tristan was standing at the door with flowers in his hand.*

Joey:I caught you this time Tristan! You have been hitting on my sister for the last time! Serenity, Tristan is a good friend of mine. I believe you two have met already. He has been lying to you! Yugi was the one who helped me most of the time in Duelist Kingdom!



Serenity:Is that true Tristan?

Tristan:(sighs) Yeah. I am sorry.

Joey:Sorry doesn't cut it!

Serenity:Yes it does, and I accept your apology Tristan.

Joey:Why?

Serenity:I am forgiving, and besides, Tristan knows not to lie to me again.

Tristan:Right! Bye!

*Tristan runs.*

Joey:Your right Serenity. I just hated it when Tristan set you up like that and...

Serenity:No, it's okay. I know how protective you are.

Joey:Oh...yep. Let's go!

*They sign out and leave the hospital. Joey takes Serenity to a familiar place.*

Joey:Remember this beach? I promised you that I will take you back here someday.

Serenity:Yeah, it's beautiful.

*Serenity hugs her brother. And then Joey notices some tall person with brown hair, blue eyes, and holding a briefcase.*

Joey:Kaiba?! What are you doing here?!

*Kaiba notices Serenity.*

Kaiba:Who is this?

Serenity:Hi, you must be another one of Joey's friends. I'm his sister, Serenity.

Joey:Answer my question, Kaiba!

*Kaiba takes out three roses from his briefcase.*

Kaiba: I come here, once a month, to drop these (holds up the roses) into the river. Since my parents passed away, I have been doing this in honor of them.

*Kaiba places two of the roses into the river. Watching the roses float until he couldn't see it anymore. He walks up to Joey and Serenity.*

Kaiba:Here.

*Kaiba holds up the third rose to Serenity, who is in tears of what Kaiba does for his parents.*

Serenity:Thank you (cheerfully)!

Joey:What is the big idea Kaiba?!

Kaiba:Well, Joey, if you insist...

*Kaiba takes out another rose.*

Kaiba:Here, Joey. You are jealous so maybe this will cheer you up.

Joey:What am I some kind of girl?!

Kaiba:You don't deserve it. But you want to be treated this way (smiles).

Joey:Why you!

Serenity:Calm down, Joey. Kaiba, is that your name?

Kaiba:My last name is Kaiba. First name Seto.

Serenity:Nice to meet you Seto Kaiba.

*She puts out her hand. So does Kaiba.*

Kaiba:Nice to meet you too. Well, I got to go, see you later.

Serenity:Okay! Bye!

Joey:Yeah, yeah, bye.

*Kaiba left. Serenity and Joey are heading for the game shop.*

Serenity:It seems that you have a problem with Seto.

Joey: Me?! Kaiba is like a rival.

*Joey tells Serenity what had happened in Duelist Kingdom, and what was recently going on in the regional tournament. Both Joey and Yugi have five locator cards. They need only one more to enter the finals.*

Serenity:Well, maybe he's changed. That was funny, though.

Joey:What was?

Serenity:Seto gave you a one star chip rating (giggles).

Joey:(smiles) It is funny now that I think about it. You know what Serenity, I think you are right, Kaiba probably changed.(in his mind:I don't want to get on that much, for Serenity's sake, I have to stay calm).

*Joey introduced Serenity to everyone inside the Game Shop. He also told Yugi about the weird encounter with Kaiba. Rebecca Hawkins was Yugi's girlfriend. Tristan and Tea hooked up fast. Later that day, Joey taught Serenity how to duel, and he even gave her some rare cards like the fortress whale that he won from Mako Tsunami. He also traded with Yugi's grandfather.*

Serenity:Is Kaiba hard in this Dueling game?

Yugi:Yep, he is difficult to defeat. He has a god card like this one.

Yugi holds up Slifer the sky dragon god card that he won from a rare hunter.

Serenity:Oh, and is Kaiba in the tournament?

Joey:Of course! He is the one holding this tournament.

Serenity:How many of these god cards are there?

Mai:Three.

Serenity:So then who has the other one?

Rebecca:Marik has it. He is the head of the Ghouls, or rare hunters.

Yugi:That reminds me.

Yugi hands Joey his Red Eyes Black Dragon.

Yugi:Here Joey, you can have it back, thanks. It has helped me out in this tournament.

Joey:Thanks Yuge (I didn't misspell Yugi. Joey calls him this sometimes).

*They had told Serenity everything that night, from the rare hunters to Yami, so she would know what's been going on. Everyone went home except Joey and Serenity, they spent the night by Yugi's house. Serenity and Joey slept in the guest bed. Joey couldn't sleep, so he went outside for some fresh air.*

Joey:All this talk about the god cards, and I don't even have one! I can't beat Yugi or Kaiba, and who knows how hard Marik is...???

Shadi appeared.

Shadi:I know that you are worried about the finals. But have faith. Here, this belongs to you.

*Shadi hands the millenium key to Joey.*

Joey:But this is yours Shadi.

Shadi:No, this is mine.

*He takes out the millenium scale.*

Shadi:I have been looking for the true owner of this millennium item.

Joey:I was in the past?!

Shadi:Yes, you were Jono, Yami's best friend, just like you are today.

Joey:Cool!

Shadi:Farewell!

Joey:Bye!

*Later, the next day. Joey, Yugi, Serenity, and Rebecca are walking in the park.*

Serenity:I love walking in parks! It is so peaceful and beautiful.

*Holding onto Joey's arm, she dragged the crowd everywhere. They saw a familiar face.*

Yugi:Kaiba?

*Kaiba sees the group.*

Kaiba:Well, if it isin't Yugi.

Yugi:What are you doing here Kaiba?!

*Mokuba walks up to them.*

Mokuba:Hey Yugi, Joey, Rebecca, and....

Serenity:My name is Serenity. Pleased to meet you...

Mokuba:I'm Mokuba, Seto's brother.

Serenity:Oh so you have a bro, too Seto?

Kaiba:Yeah.

Joey:So what brings you here Kaiba?

Kaiba:I got some anonymous e-mail telling me to meet someone here for a duel. Not that it's any of your business.

Joey:What?! Is that an insult?!

Kaiba:Call it what you want to.

*Three rare hunters suddenly appeared.*

Rare Hunter #1:Hello Kaiba, glad you can make it. Allow us to introduce ourselves. I am Umbra.

Rare Hunter #2:I am Lumis.

Rare Hunter #3:I am Tundra.

All Rare Hunters:WE ARE HERE TO TAKE YOUR RAREST CARD!

Kaiba:(grins)So, which of you losers are dueling me for my rarest card.

*The three Rare Hunters notices Yugi and Joey that they too are duelists.*

Yugi:Where's Marik?!

Umbra:None of your business!

Lumis:I know, why don't we make this a three on three duel!

Tundra:Yes!

Joey:What makes you think that we will agree to this duel?!

Mokuba:This is an unofficial duel anyway!

*The three Rare Hunters use their dark powers and captured Mokuba, Rebecca, and Serenity.*

Joey:No! Serenity!

Kaiba:Mokuba!

Yugi:Rebecca!

Tundra:If you want them back, you will have to duel us for them. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Lumis:Also, if you win, you can have our locator cards!

Joey, Yugi, and Kaiba needed one more locator card each. So they agreed.

Joey:Wait a minute! What will happen if you win?!

Umbra:If we win, you will never see those three again! And you must give us your rarest card!

Joey:I have to win, for Serenity!

Yugi:Right Joey!

Yugi transforms into Yami.

Yami:Okay Rare Hunters, you got yourself a deal!

*Kaiba said nothing. He couldn't believe that his brother disappeared. He also felt a bit weird, thinking about Serenity.*

Kaiba:...

Joey:So, where is my sister and the others?!

Lumis:They are being held captive in Master Marik's lair!

Yami:Kaiba, we must set our differences aside, to save them.

Kaiba:...

Joey:Come on Kaiba! Snap out of it already! We need your help to defeat these guys!

Kaiba:...Okay.

*Kaiba not only was worried for his brother, but had the exact same feelings for Serenity.*

Kaiba:Let's duel!

Joey:That's the Kaiba I remembered!

*The duel began, and the three duelists felt as if the other three were cheering them on. Meanwhile, at Marik's lair.*

Serenity:How did we end up here?

Mokuba:I think it had something to do with those Rare Hunters.

Rebecca:I don't care how we got here! How will we get out?

*Serenity struggled to get out of the chains that tied her up.*

Serenity:It's no use, it wouldn't budge!

Mokuba:What are we going to do?

Serenity:I know that my brother won't rest until he finds me. I have a feeling that we will be alright.

Marik walks up to them.

Marik:Don't count on it! You are trapped here forever! Make yourselves at home.

Serenity:Wait, if my brother Joey, Yugi, and Seto win that duel, we will be free, right?

Marik:Do you think that I will allow that?!HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Serenity:I know that they will save us!

Marik:They can't even find this place!

*Marik walks up to Serenity and holds her face up, choking her.*

Marik:If you were smart, you'd keep your mouth shut! I am Marik, and you have no idea what power I possess!

*Marik lets go of Serenity, and leaves.*

Rebecca:Serenity, are you okay?

Serenity:I think so, but he choked me pretty hard.

Rebecca:That creep, if I get my hands on him...!

Serenity:Marik is wrong, he doesn't know my brother.

Mokuba:My brother won't let Marik get away with capturing me, either!

Serenity:We have to believe in them, they can't lose when they know that.

Rebecca:???Ooooooooooookkkkkkkkkkaaaaaaaaayyyyyy...

Serenity:Seriously, Rebecca, I know. My brother never lets me down.

Rebecca:I understand.

*Back at the duel, Joey and Kaiba sense their sister/brother.*

Joey: I sacrifice two of my monsters and summon...Red Eyes Black Dragon!

Yami:Good move Joey!

Yami has Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl out on the field. Kaiba has one of his Blue Eyes White Dragon.

Joey:Red Eyes Black Dragon, attack with Inferno Fire Blast!

Lumis:No! He destroyed my Insect Queen!

Umbra:It's my turn!

*Umbra draws a card.*

Umbra:I sacrifice one of my monsters for Shadow Ghoul!

Inside of Yami, Yugi recognizes that card and thinks about Rebecca.

Umbra:Destroy the Red Eyes!

Joey:NO!

Kaiba:Not so fast!

Kaiba turns over a face down card.

Kaiba:Negate attack!

Joey:Thanks...Kaiba.

Kaiba:Yeah well you couldn't protect your monster...

Joey:What?!

Yami:Concentrate on this duel.

Joey:Okay.

Kaiba:It's my turn!

Kaiba draws a card.

Kaiba(grins)First I summon Lord of D. in face up defense mode! I also play The Flute of Summoning Dragon! And I summon the other two of my Blue Eyes White Dragons! I also place this card face down. Now I use polymerization and get, the Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! Now Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, attack with Nuetron Blast! Destroy Shadow Ghoul!

Joey: Cool.

Tundra:I draw my card. And I play tribute to the doomed. It allows me to destroy a monster by discarding a card
from my hand! And I choose your BEUD Kaiba! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Kaiba:Nothing happened...my Lord of D.'s special effect states that no effects such as a cards effect, magic, trap, or a monster's effect, from my opponent, works on a Dragon type monster as long as my Lord of D. is on the field, you moron!

Joey:Alright! That means my Red Eyes is safe,too. Except for attacks.

Yami:It's my turn now.

Yami draws a card

Yami's mind:I have three face down monsters, and the Dark Magician/Girl.

Yami:I sacrifice three of my monsters and I summon...Slifer the Sky Dragon!

Kaiba:Yugi has a god card!

Yami:That's right Kaiba! Now Slifer the Sky Dragon...Attack!

*The Dragon destroys Umbra's face down defense monster.*

Umbra NO!

Lumis:Ok my turn. I sacrifice two of my monster's and get...Barrel Dragon! Effect activate!

*Two tails and one head appeared after being flipped.*

Lumis:No! Oh well, Barrel Dragon attack Dark Magician!

Yami:Oh no, my Dark Magician!

Joey:I got this, pal.

*Joey turns over a face down card.*

Joey:Magic-arm shield! It allows me to take one of my opponents monsters to take the damage. And the damage is calculated to your Life Points! I take that face down monster and put it in attack mode!

*The monster is destroyed by Barrel Dragon.*

Yami:Thanks, Joey.

Joey:Hey, what are friends for.

*Umbra had the least amount of Life Points.*

Kaiba: Okay, first I use stop defense! Then I use cyber-steins effect! It allows me to summon a fusion monster if I give up half of my life points. I summon another BEUD! And I use ultimate offering! It allows me to summon another monster by giving up 500 points of every monster I have on the field! So I summon...Obelisk the Tormentor! Attack!

*Umbra lost all of his life points. But the duel is not over yet. All must be defeated.*

Tundra:I switch my monsters to defense mode and end my turn!

Joey: I use metalmorph on my Red Eyes to become...RED EYES BLACK METAL DRAGON! I also use Time Wizard with Baby Dragon to become...Thousand Dragon! Time rulet go!

*The time spin landed on a time warp.*

Joey:Alright! Another thing, I use exchange. It allows me to switch a card from my hand with one of my opponents. And since I don't have any cards in my hand, I get a card and you don't!

Joey looks in Lumis' hand and finds...The Winged Dragon of Ra!

Joey:Alright! I offer three monsters to get...The Winged Dragon of Ra! REBMD attack the Barrel Dragon!

Lumis lost.

Tundra:NO!

Yami:It's my turn!

Yami's mind:As long as he has those monsters in defense mode...I can't attack his life points!

Joey:I use copycat! To copy Kaiba's stop defense card!

Yami:Thanks Joey!

*Joey puts his thumb up.*

Joey:No problem, Yuge.

Yami:Now, Dark Magician, Dark Magic Attack!

*Tundra lost all of his life points.*

Tundra:No!

Joey:Now, not only do we get our last locator card, but a rare card, too. And my sister, Mokuba, and Rebecca.

Yami:That's right, Joey!

Yami transformed back into Yugi.

Yugi:I will take...Shadow Ghoul!

Joey:I got that Winged Dragon of Ra!

Kaiba:I'll have that Barrel Dragon!

*They took the rare cards, and the locator cards.*

Kaiba:Now, give them back!

Umbra, Lumis, and Tundra disappeared.

Joey:NO! Come back! Give back Serenity and the others!

Back at Marik's lair.

Marik:AHAHAHAHAHA! There is no escape! I made sure that you were not taken back! HAHAHAHAHA!

Serenity:You cheater!

Marik:Shut up! I am tired of you! I know...

Marik snaps his fingers and Bandit Keith appears.

Bandit Keith:Yes, Master Marik?

Marik:Take her away!

Points to Serenity.

Marik:Do what you wish with her!

*Bandit Keith takes Serenity away, as the other two yell her name. *

Serenity:Can't fight back...too weak...Jo...ey...

*Back at the park.*

Joey:Something's wrong with Serenity!

Yugi:How can you tell?

Joey:We have some kind of special bond and can sense each other. It sounds weird but it helps when one of us are in trouble.

*Joey's millenium key glows.*

Yugi:Huh?

Joey:I forgot to tell you.

*Joey explains how he recieved the millenium item.*

Joey:It may lead us to the others!

Kaiba:What can it do, open car doors?

Joey:There is no time for this, Kaiba!

*They followed Joey, call the others, and reached to Marik's lair*

Bakura:My millenium ring senses a millenium item inside.

Joey:Okay then, let's go!

*Joey and Tristan kick the door down and then they search everywhere, and found Mokuba and Rebecca.*

Kaiba:Mokuba...

*Untangling him from the chains.*

Mokuba:Yeah, big bro?

Kaiba:Are you okay?

Mokuba:I am alright...except that I'm hungry!

*Kaiba smiles and hugs his brother.*

Kaiba:Where is Serenity?

Mokuba:Oh...umm...

*Mokuba looks down at the floor worried.*

Mokuba:Bandit Keith took her somewhere...

Joey:BANDIT KEITH!!!!!!!

Yugi:Calm down, Joey. We will find your sister.

Joey:(calm)Okay, your right Yuge.

Yugi:Are you okay, Rebecca?

Rebecca:Of course! Nothing keeps Rebecca Hawkins down!

*They hug each other and follow Joey.*

*They end up to the last door. Joey opens the door and finds Bandit Keith.*

Joey:Bandit Keith!!!!!!! Where is my sister?!

Bandit Keith:She was just finishing from the bathroom...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Duel me and you may have her back!

Joey:Okay!

*They dueled and in a suprisingly short time, Joey won.*

Joey:I will take your Time Machine card. And my sister back!

Bandit Keith:No!

*Bandit Keith blocks the way into the bathroom.*

Bandit Keith:She belongs to me now!

Joey:We will see about that! With the power of my Millenium Key, I summon the Red Eyes Black Dragon!

Marik:Not so fast!

Joey:Marik!

Yugi:Marik!

Marik:Now you duel me Joey!

*They duel, and the score is now- Joey=500, Marik=1000*

Joey:No! I have to do what Yugi and gramps taught me...to believe in the heart of the cards! I can't lose now!

Yugi:That's the spirit Joey!

Kaiba:Come on Joey, you can do better than this!

Joey:Your right, Kaiba! I won't let this jerk get in the way of my family and friends!

Marik:What are you going to do? It's your turn and you only have one monster on the field!

Joey:There is no way I'm losing, Marik! My friends and sister are supporting me and that's more than enough to defeat you! I use...Change of Heart! I take your Mythic Dragon...your only monster on the field!

Marik:No!

Joey:I use Monster Reborn and get back...My Red Eyes Black Dragon!

Marik:Great, just great!

Joey:Now attack!

*The two monsters attacked and dropped Mariks LP to 0.*

Mairk:What do you want from winning this duel?

Joey:Your Mythic Dragon as the Rare Card...and your Millenium ROD!

Marik:NO!

Joey:YES!



*Joey is handed both things he asked for. He looks at the rod and seed that it can shrink and go back to it's normal size when you think it. Marik disappears*

Joey:Here Yuge.

*He hands Yugi Mythic Dragon.*

Yugi:But you won it, Joey.

Joey:After all you did for me, you deserve more!

*They shake hands.*

Yugi:Thanks, Joey!

Joey:No problem!

*Joey walks over to Kaiba.*

Joey:Here.

*Joey hands Kaiba the Millenium Rod.*

Kaiba:What are you giving me this for?

Joey:My key has a spirit inside just like Yugi's. My past self's name was Jono. He told me that this belongs to you anyway.

Kaiba:Thanks. But this changes nothing between us!

Joey:Right!

*They seemed to have an understanding...a bit. ^_^ *

*Joey breaks down the door and sees Serenity on the floor.*

Joey:Serenity!

*Serenity wakes up.*

Serenity:Joey!

*She Hugs Joey.*

Serenity:I knew you'd come. I knew you'd come Joey!

Joey:What's family for?

Serenity sees the others.

Serenity:Hi, everyone!

Yugi:Uh, hi. Are you okay?

Serenity:Why wouldn't I be?

Yugi:'Cause you are kind of bleeding on your arms and legs. And...

Tristan:You are basically naked!(smiling)

Serenity:AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Joey:Lets get out of here so she could change. Hurry!

*A few minutes later she comes out and they head back to Yugi's house.*

Serenity:I don't mean to complain but, I'm hungry!

Joey:Sorry about back there. I was worried about you and didn't notice...

Serenity:It's okay. We only cared about if we were okay.(giggles).

Joey:I am a pretty good cook.

Kaiba:You? Yeah right.

Joey:I'm serious!

*Later outside the game shop.*

Serenity:Hey, Seto...

Kaiba:Yeah?

*She walks up to him and hugs him.*

Serenity:I, I, um, like you alot!

Kaiba:umm...

Serenity: You don't, do you?...

Kaiba:Actually...I do.

Serenity:Really?

Kaiba:When we had the three on three duel, it wasn't just Mokuba I was worried about...

Serenity:Oh...you wanna go out tonight?

Kaiba:With you?

Serenity:Yeah.

Kaiba:umm...I guess.

Serenity:Ask me.

Kaiba:Do you want to go out tonight?

Serenity:umm...

Kaiba:Guess you don't.

Serenity:I'm kidding! Of course I will!

*Serenity kisses Kaiba in a quick way.*

Serenity:(giggles) Say around 8-ish?

Kaiba:Did you just...

*Kaiba was stunned. He wasn't really the romantic type.*

Serenity:Yep and I'll do it again!

*She kisses him a bit longer this time. *

Serenity:Well, umm...me, Joey, and Rebecca are moving to Yugi's house...you going there, too?

Kaiba:I'll go. Me and Mokuba.

Serenity:(smiles) Cool!

Kaiba:Maybe I'll help Yugi out with his house. However he wants it.

Serenity:That's good. You know, Seto?

Kaiba:Huh?

Serenity:Your not as bad as people think you are. You're sweet!

Kaiba:Ooooooooookkkkkk, thanks I guess.

Serenity:Well, see you tonight.

Kaiba:Okay, bye!

Serenity:Bye!

*Serenity goes inside the Game Shop and sees Joey and Yugi.*

Joey:So, you have a date tonight?

Serenity:umm...yeah! Please don't be angry...

Joey:I am never angry at you...

Yugi:Me neither.

Serenity walks over and hugs Yugi

Serenity:We are moving in, Yugi!

Yugi:That's great!

Serenity:Let's celebrate by going out for a walk. Oh and Seto is going to help you with your Game Shop, to change it and make it bigger, and even your house!

Yugi:Alright!

Serenity:So, uh, how many beds do you have?

Yugi:There's my room. my grandpa's room, and two guest rooms.

Serenity:Oh, Seto is moving in, too, with Mokuba.

Joey:Ok. I guess that means I sleep on the couch.

Serenity:We can share a room, Joey. After all, we did share a room when we were little. It will be just like old times.

Joey:Yep, that's fun. We use to play hide and seek and put the sheets over us like ghosts.

Serenity:Yay!

*Kaiba enters.*

Yugi:Thanks, Kaiba!

Kaiba:For what?

Yugi:For going to help me out with the Game Shop.

Kaiba:No problem.

Joey:Well, Kaiba.

Kaiba:What?

Joey:Seeing that you will be dating me sister...

Kaiba:What now?

Joey:I gotta have a little chat with you later.

Kaiba:About?

Joey:A big brother chat if ya know what I mean.

Kaiba:Jeez, another one of your boring lectures.

Joey:What?!

Serenity:aww, can't you two try to get along. For me?

Joey:Okay with me.

Kaiba:I'll try.

*The others reached there and they went out. Serenity wanted to go to the park. And she holds on to Joey's hand and drags the group everywhere once again.*
