[ Yu-Gi-Oh: Chaos Tournament ]
Story By Firestorm 27

This is my first fanfic. Hurray. Also I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh and all that other legal stuff. I am not sure about some stats. For corrections, comments, etc., contact me at vikas@jam.rr.com. No comments on my e-mail address.

[ Chapter 1: An Invitation ]

“YUGI, wake up, it’s time for breakfast.”
Yugi Motou woke up from his slumber and answered,” I’ll be right there.” Yugi ran down the stairs.
“I didn’t think you would wake up,” Solomon Motou chuckled, “Oh, and I forgot, here’s your mail.”
Yugi’s grandfather looked through the mail on the counter until he found Yugi’s and gave it to him accordingly. Yugi eagerly ripped it open, for he usually never got much mail.

Dear Yugi Motou,
I am hosting a grand tournament in a few days. This tournament will surely decide who the strongest duelists are and the winner will be given the title “Duel King”. The reward for the victor of this tournament shall be the rarest cards in the whole game of Duel Monsters. Only one was ever created by Pegasus, for he feared it too powerful. However, I persuaded Pegasus to put the card as a reward for the world’s top duelist. The rules for this tournament will be quite different from any others that you have played in. When you win, you will keep the rarest card of the other player. There are many unusual rules, but I will explain them at the tournament. Once you come to this tournament, you may not back down.
From,
Hadrak

Yugi considered this carefully, and then decided to consult Yami. “Hey, Yami, should we enter.” “I’m not so sure if we should, if we do then we may lose our whole deck.” “Well we took risks at Battle City, anyway the reward is the rarest card in the world.” “Fine then, aibou, let’s do it.”

Yugi signed yes on the form and then mailed it back.
Somewhere else, a day after the letter had been sent, a figure covered by shadows reached for three letters that were returned from Joey Wheeler, Seto Kaiba, and Yugi Motou.
“As I expected, the fools joined my little death match, soon, the world shall be mine.”

[ Chapter 2: Yugi and Gang ]

“Okay, so the map says the boat is that way,” said Joey Wheeler, who was trying to decipher a map.
“You idiot, you’re holding the map upside down,” Tristan Taylor said angrily.
“Pipe down you two, it’s hard enough without you bumbling baboons. Just give it to Tea or Yugi,” yelled Mai Valentine.
Joey handed the map to a pretty, brown haired girl named Tea Gardner.
Joey was a blond haired 16-year old, and Tristan had brown hair and is Joey’s best friend. Mai Valentine is a pretty girl in her 20s with long, blond, spiky hair. Tea Gardner is around Yugi’s age, 16, and is the “peacemaker” of the group.
Mai drove her car according to Tea’s directions and the party soon came to a huge boat.
“Wow, its huge,” said Joey and Tristan, who were entranced by the boat.
“Yep, it should take us to the tournament,” Yugi commented.
Yugi and his friends got on the ship, and were ready for the next day’s tournament

[ Chapter 3: The Deadly Rules ]

Yugi and his friends had finally gotten to the tournament, which was on an island. They were waiting in a hall with the other duelists, impatiently waiting for the start of the tournament. Out of nowhere, a man appeared. He appeared to be in his 25s and he had black, spiky hair, and was wearing a black cloak and matching pants.
The man then said, “ Greeting, duelists, I know you are all waiting for the tournament to begin, but first, I need to tell you the rules. As you all know, the loser’s rarest card will be given to the winner. Unlike Battle City, this is a regular tournament, and the winner gets the rarest card in the world. But now, I shall tell you the method that we are dueling in. Before your first match up, you shall be given 4 ring-like things and a helmet. These ‘rings’ will expand to cover your body, like armor. The helmet gives you a detailed HUD. Oh, yes, also I feel that the best duelist shall be the one who can endure the most pain. So whenever you are damaged, you receive shocks from your armor. The more lifepoints lost, the more pain. When you reach zero, you shall be in a coma.” “Are you crazy,” screamed a duelist. “No, this coma is only temporary and to ensure duelists do not get angry and assault their opponents afterwards.” “Now, the tournament shall commence with the first match, Yugi Motou vs. Kenji Asu.

[ Chapter 4: First Round of the Tournament; Beware of the Swords ]

(I will write in duel style for all duels)
Yugi transformed into Yami Yugi and armor was placed on him. The duel started and a Duel Disk-like machine came from his arm. Hadrak yelled out for the duel to commence.
Yami: I set two cards face down and one monster in facedown position
Kenji: I set one card face down and summon Chief of Swords (1400/1200) in face-up defense position
Yami: (thinking) why did he summons such a weak monster? (Speaks) I summon Gazelle, the King of Mythical Beasts (1500/1200) in Attack position. Now attack his Chief of Swords (Kenji: 3900)
Kenji: You fell into my trap, when Chief of Swords is destroyed; it summons three sword tokens (300/100). I now activate my facedown card, Coming of the New Chief, which sacrifices a Sword to summon another Chief of Swords. Also the Sword tokens equip to my Chief to raise its attack power by 300 each. (Chief of Swords: 2000) Now attack my Chief! Destroy his Gazelle! (Yugi: 3500)
Yugi: That hurt. This may be a bit tough
Yami: I know. I now summon Big Shield Gardna (800/2600) in face up defense position.
Kenji: I’ll now use my magic card, The Swordsmith; to create a Sword token for 500 Life points each. I’ll pay 1000 (Kenji: 2900) to create two Sword tokens and equip them to my Chief of Swords (Chief of Swords: 2600/1200). I will now attack your facedown monster. (Kuriboh is destroyed) Also, I forgot to tell you, with my sword tokens on my Chief, I can do damage if your monster is in defense position. (Yugi: 1100) I’ll end my turn now by placing one card facedown.
Yami: I will now activate Magical Double Death, which allows me to discard a monster with magician in its name from my hand to destroy one monster on your side of the field, and I choose the Chief of Swords
Kenji: Nice try, but I will activate my facedown card, Sword of Spells, which allows me to destroy one of my spells to negate your spell and destroy one of your monsters, and I choose your Big Shield Gardna. Also my card does damage to your lifepoints equal to your monsters attack points (Yugi: 200).
Yugi: Uh-oh, I don’t have any monsters left. This is my last trick. I’ll play two cards facedown to end my turn
Kenji: Hah! No monsters left. I’ll summon Sword Searcher in defense position (0/100) When Swordsmith is in the graveyard, I can summon and equip another sword token (Chief: 2900) Now finish this, my Chief! Attack
Yami: This duel will be finished, as you said, but I will be the victor. Activate Return from the Grave, which allows me to return the Dark Magician I discarded back to my hand. Now activate Magical Academy, which allows me to special summon a monster from my hand with 500+ Attack points. And I select the Dark Magician (DM:3000)
Kenji: What? Impossible!
Yami: That’s not all; I know activate a Thousand Knives, which lets me destroy one monster on your side of the field. Now let’s see what’s more powerful, five swords, or a Thousand Knives. Destroy the Chief of the Swords.
Kenji: That means I have no monsters, or facedown cards anymore. This can’t be!
Yami: Oh yes it can. Now it’s my turn. Dark Magician, attack him directly (Kenji: 0)
Kenji collapsed. “Yugi Motou now advances to the second round,” the judge yelled.
“All Right, Yug, I knew you could do it.” “Wait to go, Yugi,” His friends cheered.
The guards took Kenji’s collapsed body away, supposedly back home. However, instead they took him to a deserted room, except for Hadrak. “Good, your first soul is here, my beast.”
