Another Yugi appears and expresses his power through a shadow game. Whenever Yugi has to play games against bad guys or play games to protect his friend, he changes unknowingly into another Yugi and beats all the opponents.

There is a history of games. Game history is interwoven with human history. Starting in the Eygptian empire many thousand years ago. Ancient games foretold the future for citizens and kings. As games were played, fate was decided in magical ceremonies. These were called the shadow games.

In this series, the story involves with various kinds of games: chess, duel monster, carnival game etc. There is less specific detail about duel mosnter game card. Anime and comic story run a little different story line. However, the hightlights of this series, the Death-T game of Kaiba and Duel Monster World of Bakura remain the same. Anime also contains 27 episodes and ends before the original series, Duel Monster start.
