Summary
Depre
& Richie bring people into the battle field, declaring the final
duel stage. Richie says that he and Depre are the last two card
professors. In that case, little Yugi expects Jyonouchi to keep
on winning as he did. Thus, Jyonouchi have probably reached Tenma
already. Richie feels sorry to little Yugi since the way Jyonouchi
and Honda have gone through is a dead end. Therefore, there is no
way they will reach Tenma, and they may be wandering around and
looking for an exit. Little Yugi isn't happy, neither nor Gekkou,
who wants to defeat them quickly to get Yakou. Little Yugi agrees
with him. Richie says that they can't go anywhere. Soon, the arrangements
for getting Pegasus will be complete, and he is ready to duel. Depre
would like to go first with little Yugi and declares that he will
bury Pegasus's "Scar or Defeat".
This worries Yami Yugi who says that he's going to duel. However,
little Yugi asks to be entrusted with this duel. Yami Yugi looks
amazed and asks whether little Yugi will be okay. Little Yugi says
that Yami Yugi, Jyonouchi, Anzu, and others are his important friends
he wants to fight for. Thus, he doesn't want only to watch, shocking
Yami Yugi by pulling out his own deck for the fight. Yami Yugi tells
him that it's his turn to follow little Yugi, also reminding him
not to forget that he's always him while he is fighting. Little
Yugi looks very happy. Then, Yami Yugi is off with a pat on Yugi's
shoulder and says that he will leave this on him.
At
the same time, Gekkou turns to little Yugi and says that Depre's
rank is under the first seat in the card professor guild, which
means that he is the second. He also warns little Yugi to be careful.
Little Yugi thanks him and asks Anzu to wait for him just a little
more. She smiles and agrees, saying that she believes in him. Then,
she disappears when little Yugi takes her card out from his duel
disk so that he can use it for the duel. Little Yugi is now ready
to start. Depre begins to chuckle until Richie looks nervous and
wonders why he is laughing. Depre seems to have realized that he's
dealing with another Yugi who helped to defeat Pegasus, and he is
going to defeat him now. Then the duel starts.
First turn comes to little Yugi. He summons [Toy
Soldier - 4/1500/1000] in an attack mode, sets up a reversed
card, and ends his turn.
It's not Depre's turn. He scoffs at Toy Soldier being a small fry
monster, setting a card and summons [IBVA
Abductor - 4/1000/500 - Discard 1 card from the hand to control
one of the Rival’s monsters. The controlled monster copies
IBVA’s actions] in an attack position.
Note: IBVA: Interactive Brainwave Visual Analyser
= This is some product that uses brainwaves to control things
He uses effect to take control of Toy Soldier. At this moment,
Gekkou becomes panic about that little Yugi is now defenceless.
Depre then commands IBVA and Toy Soldier to attack little Yugi directly.
Suddenly, little Yugi activates his reversed trap card [Fortress
of Sand ~ Tuna No Toride - Field Magic Card: This card invalidates
up to a sum total of 3000 points of direct damage to a player. When
the amount of damage this card can receive goes to 0, it is destroyed].
By its effect, a wall of sand in the shape of a castle wall appears
in front of little Yugi and can take damage up to 3,000 points.
IBVA's and Toy Soldier's combined attack points are 2500 (1500+1000)
points. They slice away chunks of the wall, leaving a small sliver
of the wall left that can receive more 500 damage points. Depre
becomes impressed by how little Yugi was able to pass off his damage
to a field card. Little Yugi, however, breathes a sigh of relief
that he was able to pull through. Then, Depre ends his turn.
Turn
is back to little Yugi. He sets up two reversed cards, summons [Silent
Swordsman LV 0 - 4/1000/1000: If Silent Swordsman is in an attack
mode, it will level up in each turn and gain 500 attack points]
in an attack position, and ends his turn. Depre can realize that
it's a monster with level-up ability following the turns.
Turn
moves to Depre. He sets another reversed card, sacrifices IBVA and
Toy Soldier to summon 7 star [Zeta Reteculant
- 7/2400/2100: When this monster is sent to the graveyard, it leaves
2 IBVA tokens on the field] in an attack position. Little
Yugi thinks that it's the "Invader King".
Depre then tells little Yugi that his monster won't level up in
the next turn, declaring the attack of Zeta with Plasma Blaster.
At this moment, little Yugi activates his reversed magic card [Time
Jump - Magic: The moment this magic is activated, jump to the battle
phase 3 turns from now]. This card can skip 3 turns, and
Silent Swordsman can evolve to Level 3 with 2500 attack points (1000+500*3).
Gekkou certainly looks very impressed. Silent Swordsman cuts through
the plasma, and moves on to attack Zeta. However, Depre activates
a magic card [Interdimensional Matter Transporter
~ Akuukan Butsushitsu Tensou Souchi - Magic: Select a face-up monster
on your side of the field and remove it from play until the end
of the turn the card is activated]. It appears on the field
and teleports Zeta out the path of Silent Swordsman’s attack.
Thus, Depre is safe for this turn. Silent Swordsman and Depre currently
stare at each other.
Gekkou becomes disappointed, figuring that Silent Swordsman’s
attack points will increase in the next turn anyway. Depre tells
them not to worry yet since this isn’t an electrical failure.
The light of the duel is vanishing as the battlefield is turning
into a night sky. Depre says that little Yugi’s eyes become
used to it “The
Void of Space ~ Uchuukuukan”. The field now appears
to make little Yugi’s and Depre’s monsters look as if
they are standing on their respective platforms in the middle of
outer space. Since this field magic is activated, Fortress of Sand
is certainly gone.
Depre says that little Yugi’s Time Jump has also activated
his field magic [Cosmic Space – Field
magic: All monsters on the field are given a life star].
He also explains that his Fortress of Sand was overridden by the
effect of Cosmic Space. Due to the effect of Cosmic Space, “Life
Stars” are given to all monsters on the field based
on their level (# of stars). Zeta is a 7-star monster, and Silent
Swordsman is a 4-star monster (Based on original LV 0). Little Yugi
looks shocked as Silent Swordsman LV 0 card appears in front of
him with one star on it.
Note: Again, please understand the difference
between real OCG play and comic. In manga, little Yugi has only
one monster card for Silent Swordsman that can level up. Thus, all
level-up monsters has the same star base. However, in OCG, there
are many cards played for different levels of Silent Swordsman.
Depre further says that the effect of Time Jump reciprocally affects
the monsters. “Life Stars”
are lost when turns end. As a result, Silent Swordsman and Zeta
have both lost 3 stars (Time Jump took them 3 turns in the future,
so they have already passed three Turn Ends. He mentions that “Uchuukuukan”
also allows for long life. Zeta’s card shows that it has 4
“Life Stars” left. When
“Life Stars” are gone,
the monster is sent into the graveyard. Little Yugi realizes that
this means Silent Swordsman is pretty close to be in the cemetery.
Then, Depre ends his turn.
Right after he declares the ending, the last star on Silent Swordsman
card fades out, while Silent Swordsman is destroyed. Little Yugi
looks pretty much displeased. Depre ends with his speech about Pegasus
snatched away from them by Yugi. His life also levels up with turns
and also the hope of the victory.
