Summary

The game between Reiko and Jyonouchi starts. After drawing a card, Jyonouchi notices Reiko looking at her cards and acting awkwardly. Honda thinks that she may be reading the card texts. That brings Jyonouchi to ask when Reiko actually started M&W game (Magic & Wizard ~ The original name of Duel Monster). Reiko takes little time to think before saying that she has been playing only for a month, pretty much shocking Jyonouchi. If what Reiko said is true, he wonders how she can become a card professor. Reiko replies that it's just an accident. Jyonouchi thinks that this girl may be obtaining some actual power that he doesn't know. Reiko needs more time to read the card texts, allowing Jyonouchi to start his attack.

Accordingly, Jyonouchi looks amazed while drawing a card to begin his first turn (Reiko tells him to start his "attack" instead of "turn"). Setting up a reversed card, he summon [Alligator's Sword ~ Wyvern Warrior - 4/1500/1200] in an attack position. He ends his turn while thinking that he would like to see what Reiko actually has. Then, turn comes to Reiko. Drawing a card, she summons [Puppet Pawn - 3/800/1200] in a defense position. She sets up two face-down cards and ends her turn.

Turn comes to Jyonouchi. After drawing a card, he considers two reversed cards of Reiko. He then summons [Little Winguard - 4/1400/1800: Once during each of your end phases, you can change the position of this card] in an attack position, declaring the attacks of his two monsters quickly. At this moment, Reiko opens one of her face-down trap card [Blue on Blue ~ Doushi Uchi - Trap: Activates in the opponent's Battle Phase. 2 or more of the Opponent's monsters kill each other by mistake]. Due to its effect, Little Winguard and Alligator's Sword of Jyonouchi have to strike against one another. Suddenly, Jyonouchi opens his reversed trap card [Drametic Rescue ~ Kyuujyutsugeki - Trap: You can only activate this card when a monster on your side of the field is specially designated as a target by a card. Return the targeted monster card to its own owner's hand and special summon another monster from your hand in face-up attack or defense position]. He plays its effect to return Little Winguard to his hand and resummon it onto the field in a defense position. When the targeted monster was gone, the effect of Blue on Blue becomes invalid. Thus, all monsters of Jyonouchi are safe.

Jyonouchi praises Reiko's play and says that he hardly believes Reiko has been duelling merely for a month. Reiko smiles while claiming that she's forgotten to play another reversed card. She then opens her continuous magic [Battlefield Tragedy ~ Senjou No Sengeko - Magic: When a Player battles in their turn, they send the top 5 cards from their deck into the graveyard]. It forces any player to discard top 5 cards from their decks into the graveyards if they attack. As a result, Jyonouchi has to discard 5 cards into his cemetery before ending his turn.

Turn is now with Reiko. Drawing a card, she sets up two more reversed cards. After that, she plays the instant magic from her hand [Promotion - Magic: Tribute a 'Puppet Pawn' to special summon a 'Puppet Queen,' 'Puppet Bishop', 'Puppet Rook,' or 'Puppet Knight' to the field]. Due to its effect, Puppet Pawn can transform into [Puppet Queen - 4/2200/2500]. Jyonouchi seems pretty shocked by the 2200 attack monster only with 4 stars. He thinks that his monsters currently can't oppose it at all. Anyway, Reiko turns Puppet Queen into a defense position before ending her turn.

Jyonouchi gets amazed, asking her why she didn't let it attack. Reiko says that she can't. Jyonouchi reconsiders that she might try to avoid the effect of Battlefield Tragedy. If she had attacked, she would have had to discard 5 cards from her deck into the graveyard.

Turn comes to Jyonouchi. After drawing a card, he still feels in trouble with the great defending monster with 2500 defense points. He has nothing to destroy it now. However, he isn't afraid at all as long as Reiko doesn't attack. Summoning Gearfried the Iron Knight in a defense position, he ends his turn [Gearfried the Iron Knight ~ Tetsu No Kenshi Gearfried - 4/1800/1600: Any equip card this card is equipped with is automatically destroyed]. At this moment, Reiko suddenly opens her reversed trap card [Gear Guard Action ~ Shingari No Sentou - Trap: Activates when the opponent declares 'turn end.' The opponent's monster with the lowest attack power attacks one of the monsters of the player who activated this card]. As a result of its effect, the lowest power monster of Jyonouchi has to attack her Puppet Queen. Thus, Little Winguard is forced to attack Puppet Queen and destroyed. Jyonouchi's LP goes down to 2900 (4000+1400-2500). This strike is counted as his battle phase, so Jyonouchi is preparing for discarding his 5 cards from his deck into the graveyard. Reiko's threat hasn't finished yet. She then opens her second face-down card that is also Battlefield Tragedy. By the double effects, Jyonouchi has to discards 10 cards from his deck into his cemetery. Jyonouchi gets frightened because he has only 20 cards left.

Honda becomes furious, asking whether Jyonouchi takes it easy because she is a girl. Jyonouchi tells him to shut up before turning back to Reiko with his serious face. He can feel something strange from this girl. Anyway, Reiko begins to be scared by his strong feeling until Jyonouchi has to call her to continue her turn. In Reiko's turn, she summons [Puppet Rook - 4/1200/1800] in a defense position before ending the turn quickly. At this point, Jyonouchi has understood her strategy clearly, and become sure that she won't attack. Her deck mostly contains high defense power monsters to protect herself and destruction cards for the strike. Jyonouchi then interrupts her and asks whether she is having fun with the duel. For him, he always enjoys the duel. He also gets excited every time he draws his cards or attacks. However, Reiko always looks nervous as dueling. Thus, her deck presents her type of defending style. Jyonouchi claims that the doesn't mean that her deck is weak. Nevertheless, he thinks any duel without the attack shouldn't be fun. Reiko seems amazed by his words.

In Jyonouchi's turn, he draws a card and summon [Giltia the D. Knight - 6/1850/1500] in an attack mode. He says that although Reiko can win the game without an attack, she still can't go across souls. This explains why she is afraid of duelists. Reiko becomes more amazed as if something has just waken her up. Then, Jyonouchi declares the attack of Giltia the D. Knight to destroy Puppet Rook. Jyonouchi shows his courage of the attack without any concern of the consequence. Reiko reminds him to discard 10 more cards into the graveyard as a result of Battlefield Tragedy's effect. Jyonouchi has just feel worried by that he has only 10 cards left in his deck. If he no longer has any card to draw, he will lose. Setting up two more reversed cards, Jyonouchi ends his turn.

In Reiko's turn, Reiko draws and sets up a face-down card. She tells Jyonouchi that she has never thought of any attack until now. Jyonouchi feels very excited by her coming attack. She lets Puppet Queen attack and destroy Alligator's Sword. Thus, Jyonouchi's LP decreases to 2200 (2900+1500-2200). Jyonouchi much enjoys her play and laughs out loud. He accepts that Reiko is actually strong. Thus, from now on, he hopes the duel will be the really serious one. Anyway, Honda points out whether Jyonouchi is normally serious.
