Summary

15 hours ago in the United States, there was the North America Junior Champion Tournament [Hokubei Junior Champion Takai] in at Duel Stadium in Las Vegas. Mokuba and Kaiba were in a VIP room, talking about the tournament. This was a part of the promotion plan for the construction of Kaibaland. Kaiba points out the level of the duelists seems to be low. This may be an examination for an institution for duelist training. Then, Tenma's body appeared from the floor, so Mokuba got very frightened. He said that Pegasus-Sama also had the same project to be done. Seeing his appearance, Kaiba realized shortly that he was Tenma from Industrial Illusion Corporation (I2). Tenma greeted Kaiba for that they hadn't seen each other for a long time. Suddenly, something wrong was happening in the central duel arena where two kids were dueling. A kid said that he couldn't summon a monster while another kid said that his monster disappeared. An officer reported to Kaiba that the current Solid Vision couldn't be projected. Perhaps, there was something wrong with the duel disks of the players. Kaiba was surprised by that these happened simultaneously. Undoubtedly, Tenma did something to the system. He said that he already took control the Duel Link Server for his plan. Kaiba became very angry. He claimed that I2 breached the contract between the two companies. Under the agreement, I2 was aiming to expand and develop data of M&W (Magic and Wizard - The old and original name of Duel Monster Game Card). To clearify, it did research on card information and created new card series. Moreover, Kaiba Corporation was developing duel disk playing system, and I2 couldn't interfere the company's project. At this moment, Tenma was apparently aiming to the intellect of Kaiba Corporation. Kaiba declared seriously that he wouldn't forgive him if something happened to his Duel Link Server.

Tenma told Kaiba that he would return it to him when his project had already been accomplishted. Then, his body disappeard from the room as Kaiba was looking confused by the situation. Many officers reported that the correspondence between Duel Disk Server and duel disks had completely stopped. They tried to contact the office in Japan, but the connection was also lost. Mokuba pointed out his brother that duel disks basically were connected to Duel Link Server located in the office in Japan. The whole card data was created into Solid Vision. At this moment, Kaiba assumed that something wrong might be happening in Japan. Anyway, he was wondering whether the guy who appeared in from of him was actually Tenma. He thought that Tenma looked very different from what knew previously. Kaiba understood that he had no choice but went to Japan to solve the entire problem. Thus, he called Mokuba, and both of them then started returning to see Tenma in Japan.

Currently at Kaiba Corporation in Japan, Kaiba is facing the 8th card professor. Kaiba feels familiar with this guy, asking whether his name is actually [Willa Mette]. It is Willa's honor that a nobleman like Kaiba can remember his name. He is glad to become a well-known person. Kaiba says that his name is in the high rank of card professor group; however, he is now become Tenma's subordinate. Willa tries not to make misunderstand, saying that he doesn't intend to become Tenma's ally. His main purpose is only money. If he can beat Kaiba, he will get such a large reward. Tenma is merely a source of revenues for him. Kaiba considers him a hyaena that is blinded only by money. Actually, the reward to beat Kaiba is $100,000. It isn't bad at all if he duels only one time and gets this amount. On the other hand, if Kaiba can defeat him, he can advance to the inside building. This is the rule for the game. Willa talks while turning on the spotlight. Kaiba has just realized the rule that Tenma sets for his building. Kaiba is getting more furious, saying that he has no time to play with his farce. Willa tells him to stop breaking the rule because the main computer, which is very important to Kaiba, may be exploded. Tenma is very serious about this, and he can do so if Kaiba doesn't comply with the rule. Kaiba has no option left but accepts the duel to open his road. He tells Willa to begin the duel while calling him [Hyena Duelist]. Then the duel between Kaiba and Willa starts.

First turn comes to Kaiba. Willa thinks that he, in fact, understands Kaiba's deck type very well. Drawing a card, he sets up a face-down magic card, Shrink. Then, he summons Blade Knight in an attack position and ends his turn [Blade Knight - 6/1600/1100: If you have 1 or less cards in your hand, the ATK of this card on the Field is increased by 400 points. Also, if this card is the only Monster on your side of the Field, negate the effects of Flip Effect Monsters destroyed by this card as a result of Battle]. Turn now comes to Willa. Drawing a card, he sets up a face-down card and summons Lancer Dragonewt in a defense position [Lancer Dragonewt - 4/1500/1800: When this card attacks a monster in defense mode, if this card's attack strength is higher than that monster's defense strength, do battle damages to your opponent equal to the difference]. Then, he ends his turn quickly. Seeing Willa merely defending, Kaiba says that he can't obtain any reward into his hand without an offensive move. Actually, Willa is aware of Kaiba's face-down trap card.

The second round begins at Kaiba's side. He draws a card and summons Vorse Raider in an attack position [Vorse Raider ~ Blood Vorse - 9/1900/1200: If you sacrifice this monster to summon a Light Main-Type Monster, 1 of these Monsters may count as 2 Monsters to be sacrificed]. He declares the attack of Vorse Raider against Lancer Dragonewt immediately. The attack points of Vorse Raider (1900) is supposed to exceed that of Lancer Dragonewt (1800). However, Kaiba is surprised by that the body of Lancer Dragonewt still appears in a mist form on the field. Willa is actually activating his face-down an equipment magic card, Body Mist, and equipping it with Lancer Dragonewt. Due to its effect, Lancer Dragonewt can't be destroyed in battle, and any battle damage is reduced to 0 [Body Mist ~ Mist Body - Equipment Magic: A Monster equipped with this card cannot be destroyed as a result of Battle and Battle Damage you receive from the Equipped Monster being in battle is 0. When this card is sent from the Field to the Graveyard, the Equipped Monster is destroyed]. As a result, Willa is safe in this turn. Setting up another reversed card on the field, Kaiba ends his turn.

The two cards that Kaiba is setting up are the trap card, Deck Destruction Virus, and the magic card, Shrink. It doesn't matter which monsters of him, Vorse Raider or Blade Knight, will be the targets. By Shrink, Kaiba can halve the attack points of the attacking monster while , by Deck Destruction Virus, he can destroy the whole Willa's deck. Turn is now with Willa. He draws a card and thinks of Kaiba's tactic carefully. He can predict that Kaiba must prepare for some trap card. Then, he sets up 2 reversed cards on the field and summons AXE Dragonewt in an attack position [AXE Dragonewt - 4/2000/1200: When this card attacks, at the end of the damage step this card is switched to defense position]. Kaiba has already prepared for the coming attack. However, before declaring the strike, Willa plays a magic card, Card Sealment, from his hand [Card Sealment ~ Card Hekisachi-fu - Magic: When this card is flipped face-up, select face-down cards on the opponent's side of the field. As long as this card remains face-up on the Field, the selected cards cannot be activated]. Suddenly, chains appear to seal two reversed card of Kaiba. According to its effect, Kaiba's face-down cards will be sealed as long as Card Sealment remains on the field. That means his deck destruction combo has finally been sealed. Willa feels pity to Kaiba after seeing his face. He thinks that Kaiba may lose such important cards. At this moment, Willa no longer have to be worried about any attack. He lets AXE Dragonewt attack Blade Knight. Thus, Kaiba's LP decreases to 3600 (4000+1600-2000). After that, he ends his turn.

Kaiba feels angry when he has got some damages from such a hyena duelist. Drawing a card, he sets up a reversed card. Then, he sacrifices Vorse Raider to summon Swordstalker in an attack position [Swordstalker ~ Fukushou No Stalker 6/2000/1600: Increase the attack points of this monster by 20% of the attack points for each monster sent to your own graveyard]. Due to its special effect, its attack points can increase by 20% of the attack points of the destroyed monster. Previously, Blade Knight with 1800 attack points was sent to the cemetery, so Swordstalker's attack points become 2320 (2000+20%*1600). Kaiba declares the attack of Swordstalker against AXE Dragonewt at once. Suddenly, Willa opens his face-down card that makes his AXE Dragonewt's body become mist again. It is an equipment magic card, Synchronic Ability, that is equipped with AXE Dragonewt. Due to its effect, it allows him to activate the equipment magic effect of a same sub-type monster on the field as the equipped monster [Synchronic Ability - Equipment Magic: Activate the ability, the special ability, or the equipped ability of the same sub- type monsters on the field]. AXE Dragonewt and Lancer Dragonewt have the same sub type, so AXE Dragonewt can use the equipment effect of Lancer Dragonewt, Body Mist. As a result of the equipment effect, Body Mist, Willa doesn't get any damage in this battle.

Willa seems to understand Kaiba's deck that focuses on powerful monsters very well. Kaiba tries to increase the attack points of monsters with low attack points too much until he doesn't have enough monsters with spell attacks. Obtaining great monsters with high attack points doesn't mean that a person will win. This is what is good in the M&W game, duel monster card game. Willa asks what Kaiba is going to do while calling him a young card nobleman [Card No Kikoushi].
