Summary

Jyonouchi and Honda are confronting against the 7th card professor during their way to see Yugi. The card professor looks very annoyed and bored by the situation. He says that the money award to beat Mutou Yugi now goes up to $2,000,000. Thus, he has waited to duel with him. However, whatever he sees is such a cheap opponent (Jyonouchi). Of course, Jyonouchi is getting furious when he is looked down. The card professor tells him that the reward to beat Jyonouchi is now only $500. How low! Jyonouchi becomes more angry and starts complaining after he lets him talk too much. Honda tries to clam him down. He tells the card professor to give him the key card and let them pass if he feels tired of the duel. The card professor is afraid that he can't do that due to the order of Tenma to defeat all partners coming with the duel king. Thus, Jyonouchi gets more mad since he is pulled around too much. He challenges the card professor to duel against him now. The card professor stills provokes Jyonouchi, asking whether Jyonoushi knows his own level. Honda sees Jyonouchi become more frustrated, so he tells him that Jyonouchi should know how to be patient or how to control himself. This is also a strategy. However, the card professor laughs loudly. In his fight against Jyonouchi, it may be the duel that makes his cards become junk. Honda tries to clam down Jyonouchi and tells him to win this game. Jyonouchi says certainly that he will show that he can break off by his deck. The card professor more laughs at him, asking where Jyonouchi gets that confidence from. Then, he turns back to the fighting mode and introduces his name officially [Mendo Cino]. He also calls Jyonouchi "a cheap duelist" (Yasumono Duelist) to start the duel.

First turn comes to Mendo. Setting a face-down card, he summons [Preying Mantis - 4/1500/1200] in an attack position and ends his turn. Next turn comes to Jyonouchi. He says that he will send that weak monster to the graveyard shortly. Setting a face-down card, Jyonouchi summons The Legendary Fisherman in an attack position [The Legendary Fisherman ~ Densetsu Fisherman - 4/1850/1600: As long as "Umi" is face-up on the field, this card is unaffected by any spell cards. Monsters on your opponent's side of the field can not select this card as an attack target]. He lets it attack Preying Mantis immediately. At this moment, Mendo opens his face-down trap card, Forced Withdrawal, to return a monster to the opponent's hand [ Forced Withdrawal ~ Kyousei Kaishuu: Return an attacking monster to the opponent's hand]. As a result, the attack of The Legendary Fisherman becomes invalid as it is returned onto Jyonouchi's hand. At this point, Mendo claims that Jyonouchi no longer has any protecting monster.

Next turn comes to Mendo. He declares the attack of Preying Mantis against Jyonouchi directly. Therefore, Jyonouchi's LP decreases to 2500 (4000-1500). Mendo says that he would let Jyonouchi realize the fear of his deck. He then the permanent magic card, Labor Pain, from his hand [Labor Pain - Permanent Magic: When a new monster is summoned, each player much pay 1000 LP as a tribute for his own monster]. Mendo explains that this card affects both players. When each of them summons a new monster onto the field, he must pay 1000 LP for his own monster. Jyonouchi is getting amazed by this permanent effect. Mendo warns him to be careful if he is gonna summon a monster since his LP will be reduced significantly by 1000 points. Jyonouchi becomes more worried now because he has a few LP left while he has no monster on the field at all. Mendo further tells him that his next card will make Jyonouchi feel more worried. He then plays the field magic card, Kamakiri Egg [Kamakiri Egg ~ Kamakiri No Ransho : This card can be played only if Kamakiri - Mantis - is face up on the field. In every turn, Baby Kabamiki token with 500 attack points will be summoned onto the field]. In each turn, an egg of Baby Kamakiri will appear onto the field. According to this play combined with the permanent magic card, Labor pain, Mendo can summon a monster, Byby Kamakiri, without losing his LP. Honda feels worried about Jyonouchi, asking what Jyonouchi is gonna do. Unluckily, Jyonouchi has no idea either. He even asks Honda back what he should do, so Honda becomes more worried. Mendo then sets up a face-down card, ending his turn.

It is now Jyonouchi's move. Mendo hopes that he will try his best in this turn. Jyonouchi draws a card and gets Psycho Shocker. He is now thinking whether to use Hurricane from his hand to return all spell and trap cards onto players'hands. After that, he decides to summon The Legendary Fisherman back onto the field. However, his LP becomes 1500 (2500-1000) due to the effect of Labor Pain. At this moment, Jyonouchi is also hesitating whether to attack Preying Mantis again. He is getting worried about Mendo's face-down card. Looking through Mendo's serious eyes, Jyonouchi decides not to attack. He sets The Legendary Fisherman into a defense mode, sets up a face-down card, and ends his turn. In fact, Jyonouchi is right because Mendo's face-down trap card is the same as previous turn, Forced Withdrawal. Mendo sees that Jyonouchi didn't go into the same trap in the second time.

Turn is with Mendo. Drawing a card, he activates the effect of Kamakiri Egg. [Baby Kamakiri] token with 500 attack points is summoned onto the field, so there are 2 monsters in total on Mendo's field now. After that, Mendo sacrifices Baby Kamakiri and Preying Mantis to summon a Mantis holding a great scythe of death, Deathscythe Killer. [Deathscythe Killer - 8/2300/1600: Sacrifice other monsters on field, the attack points of this monster increases by the attack points of the sacrificed monster]. At this moment, Mendo's LP decreases to 3000 (4000-1000) due to the effect of Labor Pain. Jyonouchi is certainly getting shocked. Although both of them sacrificed their LP to summon the monsters, Mendo could successfully summon the greater monster with 8 starts. Mendo lets Deathscythe Killer destroy The Legendary Fisherman by its great scythe at once. Suddenly, Jyonouchi opens his face-down magic card, Scapegoat [Scapegoat - Instant Magic: When this card is activated, you cannot summon any Monster in the same turn (including Flip Summon and Special Summon). Special Summon 4 Sheep Tokens (Beast-Type/EARTH/Level 1/0 ATK/0 DEF) in Defense Mode on your side of the Field. The tokens cannot be used as a Sacrifice for a Sacrifice Summon]. Thus, four Scapegoats appear to block the attack. One is destroyed by the attack of Deathscythe Killer, so there are 3 remaining. Mendo feels pity that he can't finish Jyonouchi in this turn. Then, he ends his turn.

Turn comes back to Jyonouchi. He really hopes to draw a key card to extend his life. Drawing a card, he sets up a face-down card and ends his turn quickly. Next turn is with Mendo. According to the ability of Kamakiri Egg, a Baby Kamakiri is summoned. Thus, two monsters, Deathscythe Killer and Baby Kamakiri destroy two Scapegoats of Jyonouchi. Mendo tells him that Jyonouchi now has only one Scapegoat left to protect himself. Anyway, Jyonouchi hasn't given up yet. In his turn, he draws a card and seems to get the final hope. His face becomes more serious. He plays the magic card, Cross Shift, from his hand [Chross Shift - Magic: Substitute 1 Monster in play with a 4 star Monster from your hand]. Due to its effect, Jyonouchi can substitute a monster on his field, Scapegoat, with a monster, Swordman of Landstar, on his hand [Swordman of Landstar ~ Landstar No Kenshi - 3/500/1200]. Mendo can guess that Jyonouchi may be going to sacrifice them to summon a monster. Accordingly, sacrificing Swordman of Landstar and Legendary Fisherman, he summons Jinzo-Psycho Shocker onto the field [Jinzo Psycho Shocker ~ Jinzo Ningen Psycho Shocker - 7/2400/1500: As long as this card remains face-up on the field, all trap cards can not be activated. The effects of all face-up trap cards are also negated]. His LP goes down to 500 (1500-1000) due to the effect of Labor Pain again. Then, Psycho Shocker's special effect destroyes the face-down trap card of Mendo, Forced Withdrawal. Mendo hasn't expected that Jyonouchi is holding such a great monster with the ability to detect and destroy any trap card. Honda sees that Jyonouchi seems to prevail now, telling him to attack at once. However, Jyonouchi says that he can't do so. Mendo explains that Jyonouchi has realized the situation well. Currently, Psycho Shocker (2400) has higher attack points that Deathscythe Killer (2300). Nevertheless, Mendo can activate the special effect Deathscythe Killer by sacrificing Baby Kamakiri (500) and rasing the attack points of Deathscythe Killer by the attack points of Baby Kamakiri. In other words, if Mendo sacrifices Baby Kamakiri, Deathscythe Killer's attack points will become 2800 (2300+500). Also, if he attacks, his Psycho Shocker will be defeated, and he will finally lose. Mendo realizes that Jyonouchi understand the situation very well. Thus, he asks what Jyonouchi is gonna do. Honda is getting worried and also wondering how Jyonouchi is going to make his decision. Jyonouchi merely stays still and declares the ending of his turn quietly. Meanwhile, Mendo laughs loudly with joy again since he knows that Jyonouchi could do nothing else buy said those words.
