Summary
Yugi, Honda and Jyonouchi have reached Kaiba Corporation
to save Anzu captured by Tenma who prepared to sacrifice her for
a project called R.A Project.
They
can feel that the KC building looks gloomy. Then a mysterious guy
in shadow throws a card to Yugi. Yugi picks up the card guickly
and looks amazed. So, Jyonouchi and Honda tell the hiding guy to
express himself. Thus, a long and black hair guy with a duel disc
in his hand comes up, welcoming everybody to the step of fight.
Jyonouchi asks whether the guy is a member of I2 (Industrial Illusion).
The guy explains that he is hired by I2 for a mercenary, a card
professor named Deschutes Lew. In American, there
are matches for a large amount of money held by wicked sponsors.
Card professors are hired and behind controlled for the matches.
Deschutes also adds that there are 13 hired card professors in KC
building. While Honda and Jyonouchi are shocked by that number,
Yugi feels very angry at Deschutes Lew. Looking at the card given,
Yugi sees that it has a picture of Anzu with written letters "Prison
of Soul" (Tamashi No Rougoku). He remembers that Pegasus
has ever used this type of card capture Kaiba's and Mokuba's souls
before. Deschutes says that Anzu stays with his master employing
him at the top of the building. At this moment, Jyonouchi and Honda
understand that Deschutes means Tenma. In order to pass through,
Yugi has to beat Dutch first. In addition, if Yugi can beat him,
he will get a key card to pass the door to the next stage inside
the building. However, if he loses, he has to give Anzu's soul card
to Deschutes. While Deschutes is still talkative, Yugi tells him
to start the duel.

Then,
the duel between Yugi and Deschutes starts when each of them has
4000 LP. Deschutes feels very confident that everything must end
here. First turn comes to Yugi. Drawing a card, he sets up a reversed
card. Next, Yugi summons Queen' Knight (1500/1600)
in an attack mode, ending his turn. Later, Deschutes draws a card,
summoning A Mobile Fortress Gear Golum (Kidou Toride Gear
Golum-800/2200) in a defense mode. Jyonouchi feels disappointed
to the Deschutes's play. Deschutes was very talkative and proud
of himself but now he tries to defend himself. Anyway, Deschutes
sets up two reversed cards, ending his turn. He is thinking a plan
to be against summon of Yugi's gods. No matter what kind of tactics
Deschutes has, Yugi believes that bond of his cards can conquer
it.
Come to Yugi's turn. He draws a card, summoning
King's Knight (1600/1400) in an attack mode. When King's
Knight and Queen's Knight are together on the field, Yugi can summon
specially Jack's Knight. Meanwhile, Honda and Jyonouchi
cheer Yugi to summon a god by sacrificing the three monsters. Suddenly,
Yugi opens and plays the magic card, Sword of Lightning
(Inazuma No Tsurugi). The monster attached with this sword
will gain its attack power by 800 points. As a result, Jack's Knight
has 2600 attack power in total (1800+800). Yugi declares its attack,
Thunder Break Sword, at once. Yet, the attack seems to be absorbed
into a hole because Deschutes activates a magic card, Weakening
the Attack (Kougeki No Muryoku Ka). This card makes the
attack of the opponent invalid and also ends the opponent's battle
phase at once. So, Deschutes gets 0 damage from Yugi's attack in
this turn and Yugi can't continue the attack of his other monsters.
Weakening
the Attack (Kougeki No Muryoku Ka)
"When your opponent attacks with a monster, negate the
attack and make your opponent's battle phase end"
This card is played very often by Kaiba
and Leon in anime.
In manga, it is played as magic card while it is played as
a trap card by Konami real card. |
Turn
is back to Deschutes. Sacrificing A Mobile Fortress Gear Golum,
Deschutes summons Castle Gate (0/2400) in a defense
mode. By its effect, except for magic or special attack, any normal
attack is invalid. As a result, Deschutes claims that Castle Gate
is an impregnable gate. Jyonouchi and Honda are amazed by the monster.
This means the attack of Yugi's three knights will be invalid. Yet,
Yugi still wonders by Castle Gate with 0 attack power that is unable
to attack. Then, Deschutes continues his turn, playing a magic card
from his hand, Brain Control (Sennou Brain Control), which
can brainwash one of Yugi's monsters. Therefore, Deschutes selects
to control Jack's Knight, activating another effect of Castle Gate.
It can shoot one of the player's monsters to take damage directly
to the opponent in a turn. As a result, Jack's Knight (2600) is
put into Castle Gate and launched as a bullet to strike Yugi. Yugi's
LP goes down to 1400 (4000-2800). Deschutes provokes Yugi and asks
how Yugi feels when attacked by his own monster.
Saying
nothing, Yugi continues his turn calmly. Then he sacrifices King's
Knight and Queen's Knight to summon Black Magician (2500/2100).
Meanwhile, Deschutes opens another reversed card, a trap card Overbearing
Trade (Kouin Na Torihiki). This card can be played only
if the opponent summons a monster. By its effect, paying a half
of the player's LP and all of his monsters, he can make all of the
opponent's monsters become his allies. So, Deschutes loses his Castle
Gate in exchange of Black Magician of Yugi. He also laughs at Yugi's
bond of friend becauseYugi's friend, Black Magician, has already
become his enemy. When Yugi has no monster, he has to end his turn.
Turn moves to Deschutes again. He orders Black Magician, his cool
friend, to attack Yugi at once. Honda and Jyonouchi are very worried.
If attacked by Black Magician (2500), Yugi (1400) will be finally
defeated. Yet, Yugi insists that his friend won't follow Deschutes's
direction. Suddenly, he activates a magic card, A Mark of
Proprietor (Shoyuusha No Kokuin). By its effect, the player,
a proprietor, can control all cards on the field. As a result, Black
Magician is back on to Yugi's control while Deschutes is very shocked.
Later, Yugi lets Black Magician attack directly Deschutes by Black
Magic. Thus, Deschutes's LP becomes 0. Yugi claims that his bond
finally brings him the victory.
Note:
There is no explanation about Deschutes's decreasing LP in
manga. However, this is my calculation. Deschutes pays a half
of his LP to play the trap card, Overbearing Trade. So, his
LP goes down to 2000 (4000/2). When he is attacked by Black
Magician (2500), his LP becomes 0. |
