At Duel Academy, Sho sits on the base of the lighthouse
facing the ocean, knees curled up to his chest. He then
starts to recall what happened a while ago, as he watched
his brother's duel in the Pro League (episode
65). The opponent grounded and his brother standing
tall and proud from the opposite side of the ring with a
sinister smirk painted on his face as the announcer dazzles
over Ryo's tremendous strength. His opponent was knocked
down onto the ground, while Ryo was standing with a scary
smirk. The reporter prised his tremendous and powerful strength
that Ryo had never had before. He said "Amazing!
He's overwhelmingly powerful! He's achieved a power like
none ever seen! He downright crushed him to death! He's
powerful! Really powerful! Ryo Marufuji, the one who returned
from hell has risen right here! Hell Kaiser Ryo's strength
is the real deal!".
Sho is snapped out of his melancholy memories by a familiar
voice. "Hey, Sho!"
calls Judai as he comes running up to Sho in a rush. "Sho,
what the heck are ya doin'!?" he asks. "The
Pro League is about to start on TV. Don't you wanna see
Kaiser's duel today?"
"I don't wanna watch,"
Sho replies without second thought. He says that he doesn't
want to watch a brother who has become so cold and dead
on the inside. Judai takes a light sigh and takes a seat
next to Sho. "I was surprised
at first too. But you have to remember, Sho,"
says Judai. "We'll never forget
Kaiser. It's an awesome feeling like none other, ain't it?"
Sho just sighs a disappointed sigh. Nevertheless, Judai
keeps up with his upbeat banter. "And
whatever that may be, you'll be sure you can see Kaiser
but you can't see him right now."
They look at the blueness of the sky for a while.
"Somethin' like that!"
Judai says to break the tension. "You
feel the same?"
Sho smiles, "I hear you, Big
Bro."
"Awright." Judai
and Sho stand up simutaneously and face each other with
new confidence.
Meanwhile, on another side of the world, the bright blue
sky is now a darker shade and instead of clouds is filled
with stars. At the Kaiba Dome illuminated by high-beamed
spotlights, people of many creeds and cultures watch the
duel on the ground floor in excitement and anticipation.
The opponent is a duelist no older than twenty dressed
in a black tee-shirt, slacks and a yellow hat resting on
his bandanaed head. His Field: full of semi high-level or
powerful monsters. Blood Vorse, Whiptail Gargoyle, Swordstalker
of Vengance, Morinphen, and Granadora. But they are suddenly
engulfed in a sea of flames and explode instantly.
The source of these burning flames: Ryo's side of the field.
"I'm not finished with my attack!
Cyber End Dragon, a direct attack on the player!"
he orders. "Eternal Evolution
Burst!!" Cyber End Dragon's three energy beams
combine into one. A single destructive force that is so
strong, its force knocks the opponent's hat clean off his
head and leaves a massive amount of smoke and soot in its
wake.
The announcer and his partner beside him stare in the box
above in total shock at Kaiser's victory. But he's no longer
Kaiser. He's Hell's Emperor, Hell Kaiser Ryo, the duelist
with a tremendous ten game winning streak. The announcer
then asks "What in the world
must have happened to make him an Anti-Respect Duelist!?"
As Ryo walks in through the backstage gates, the smirk
on his Promoter, Saruyama's face becomes even wider.

In their limo, Saruyama has his hat taken off as he looks
out his window. "Nice destroy,"
he praises. "Turning you into
a heel was a big success, and you're in my debt for your
spiral rise to fan-favorite."
That was right. It was at Kaiser's first underground duel
versus Mad Dog Inukai where he first met up with the Promoter
Saruyama. If it weren't for that, Kaiser never would have
found that the road to victory isn't pathed by respect.
Kaiser remembers well. "Rest
assured, I've needed your help thus far. But,"
he starts, "this is where you
get off."
"Wh-What was that?"
The car comes to a halt. "Beat
it."
And with a shove, Saruyama is forced out in disbelief as
the car speeds off down the city streets.
The city is luminous, obscuring the stars. In the distance,
an airplane takes flight while down below, cars speed down
the highway. Ryo reads a note dillegently while his limo
gets on a ramp. ("I'll be waiting
at that place,") he repeats mentally as a plane
zooms overhead. Ryo pulls out his cards and stares at the
Cyber End Dragon on the top. ("Cyber
End, you'll be there with me as I climb my next height!")
The same plane flies off into the darkness of the night.

Frigid and cold, the bitter cold of the Tibetan Mountains
is unforgiving. Scaling its mighty structure is Ryo, adorned
in ice-climbing gear complete with a set of twin picks.
After what seems like a quick journey, he finally finds
"that place," nested
upon a scar. He advances towards it, making his way up the
side and takes a moment to catch his breath. Then, he looks
forward to see it, an isolated tibetan temple marked with
a rather Asianic-style Cyber End Dragon on its front.
Ryo stands in front of the gate. The giant doors mystically
open and as Ryo steps inside they close behind him. The
temple's interior is olden but mellow, probably from the
glare emanated by the torches which kept it lighted. Ryo
nostalgically looks around as he upzips and removes his
bulky hike-wear. From the opposite side of the room, a familiar
voice can be heard addressing him.
"It's been a while, Marufuji
Ryo."
Even though this man in front of the Cyber Dragon [Tanka]
wears different clothes, his face and build are unmistakable.
It is the man who won a kiss from Ms. Tome and made Prinicpal
Ichinose from the North Duel Academy extremely jealous.
It is the man who, after Judai Yuki beat Superintendent
Kagemaru, sealed the Three Legendary Demon cards back into
their underground hiding place. It is the man who shed tears
of joy at the passionate duel between Maeda Hayato and Professor
Chronos de Medici before the start of the new school year.
And it's the man who had a twinkle in his eye as he watched
Ryo's duel with Judai.
"Long time no see, Principal
Samejima." Ryo catches his mistake. "No.
Master Samejima." (Samijima Shihan = Master
or Teacher Samejima)
They approach and stop a good four meters apart from one
another. Samejima says he's heard about Ryo's success in
the Pro League. Ryo replies by saying he didn't come all
this way for idle chit-chat. Samejima agrees. They both
equip and activate their Duel Disks. Each draw five cards
and each of their Life Points are set at an equal 4000.
"DUEL!"

The duel begins. Samejima goes first and sets two cards
face-down, ending his turn. Ryo ponders about Samejima not
summoning a Monster but instead, just setting two cards.
Ryo starts his turn, playing the Equipment Magic card [Future
Fusion ~ Mirai Yuugou - Equipment Magic Card: Send Fusion
Component Monsters from deck into your Cemetery in order
to Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster with the corresponding
components from your Fusion Deck to your Field with this
card Equipped on it. The Equipped Summoned Monster cannot
participate in battle in the turn it was Summoned. {If the
Equipped Monster is removed from play, this card is removed
from play. If this card is removed from play, destroy the
Equipped Monster???}]. With it, he can send Fusion
Material Monsters to the Cemetery in order to Special Summon
a Fusion Monster. So, flipping open his deck like a second
hand, he pulls out three Cyber Dragon cards and loads them
into his Card Cemetery to summon [Cyber
End Dragon - 10/4000/2800: When this Monster attacks a Monster
in defense mode with a defense strength lower than this
Monster's attack strength, do Battle Damage to your opponent
equal to the difference] in an attack position. Although,
now Ryo's monster must take a one-turn hiatus because of
Future Fusion's effect.
"Cyber End Dragon..."
Samejima repeates. "It is the
card that has been passed on to he who has mastered everything
there is about Mind, Technique, and Body and has also served
as proof of the initiation into the secret arts of our Cyber-style
Dojo for generations upon generations. You were a mere nine
years old when you obtained it. It's 'Cyber-style' for a
reason. The only one who the name must be passed on to is..."
he pauses, "Ryo, you're our dojo's
rightful successor."
Samejima remarks that it brings back memories. "It
was in this very hall...ever since you were a child, you
would literally sink in your blood, sweat, and tears by
training day in and day out." Samejima remembers
looking at a much younger Ryo with a smirk as he followed
in his drawing excersizes with the other students and how
he crushed his opponents in exhibition matches.
On one day, Samejima and Ryo perform one-on-one training.
Ryo draws his card with enthusiasm. "That's
it!" Samejima orders, Ryo passing the card to
his master and his master giving him a confirming nod after
he checks it. "Your deck,"
he orders again.
Samejima reports that he's only invisioned his own deck
coming this far. Ryo blushes at his teacher's remark and
states he thinks he's happy when Master Samejima thinks
of his dueling so, and that he built his deck with those
kinds of thoughts. Samejima smiles in the way a teacher
would smile to his student and says, "Respecting
your opponent means you'll be able to see yourself in your
opponent's heart."
Approaching the shrine, he opens the chest there and pulls
out a card. "Ryo Marufuji, you've
done well. This card is yours." Samejima hands
Ryo the Cyber End Dragon card, the same card on the field
in the present day, and he looks at it in newfounded glory.
It was a small time later--three years to be exact--that
Samejima and Ryo met once again. Not as master and desciple
in the Cyber-style Dojo, but as principal and student in
the Duel Academy High School. Samejima says that he wouldn't
have expected to see him again but seeing him grow up has
made him happy and entrusting him with that card was not
a mistake. But...
"I recieved your invitation,
but I only came here for one reason alone,"
Ryo declares smoothly. "And that's
the other card that's linked to the Cyber-style. Cyber End's
the yang, or heads, so its the twin to the yin. I came here
so you would pass on the 'Tails deck' to me."
Note: Ura Deck = Tail Deck or Reversed/Opposite/Back
deck. The concept of Yin and Yang (Black and White) of famous
methodology is applied to the concept of Cyber End Dragon.
If Cyber End Dragon is Yang, the reversed deck that Ryo
would like to obtain should be the dark side that represents
Yin.
"The Tails deck!?"
Samejima reitterates. "That
deck certainly exists. But, that's our school's rebelious
tyrannical deck. It's the forbidden deck that the original
master and founder sealed away the same time of its creation."
There, unseen before in the background of the Cyber End
Tanka, is a second dragon shrounded in shadows with glowing
green eyes.
Ryo states that he'll defeat his master and inherit that
deck. "That's the reason I'm
dueling you!"

Cyber Shadow
Guardna
Trap Card |
"Ryo!" Samejima
calls, but Ryo cuts him off by reminding him that his turn
is not yet over with a snide smirk; he wants to get back
to the duel. "I'll make sure
you open your eyes," he pledges, and then activates
his Trap card [Cyber Shadow Guardna
- Trap: This card cannot be activated outside your opponent's
Main Phase on their turn and this card will become a Monster
and be Special Summoned to a Monster Card Zone. (Machine
Sub-Type, Earth, 4 Stars, Attack: ?/Defense: ?) This card's
ATK and DEF are the same as the ATK and DEF as a Monster
on the opponent's Field in attack mode. At the opponent's
next End Phase, set this card back in a Magic/Trap zone].
It's a card that activates in the opponent's Main Phase,
making a Shadow Monster with the exact same offensive and
defensive stats as an opponent's monster in attack mode
until the End Phase. A Shadow Cyber End Dragon appears behind
Samejima just as Ryo's original copy stands behind him.
(Attack: 4000).
But Ryo is wise to this. He activates [De-Fusion
~ Yuugou Kaijyo - Instant Magic: Split apart 1 Fusion Monster
during this turn] to de-fuse his one Cyber End Dragon
back into three Cyber Dragons. (Attack: 2100 x 3). Master
Samejima scowls. He realizes that since the fusion was cancelled,
his Cyber Shadow Guardna will morph into a 2100 attack point
Cyber Dragon. Apparently, so does Ryo. He says that it's
a dried-up shadow after all; it's befitting that it wouldn't
be able to keep its stats. And since Ryo's Cyber Dragon's
were De-Fusioned, Future Fusion doesn't work on them. "Cyber
Dragon, attack the Shadow! Evolution Burst!!"
Cyber Dragon's energy attack triggers the Shadow Dragon
to mimic since their attack powers are identical, and their
game of Evolution Burst Tug-o-War ends in a draw. Both are
destroyed. Now Ryo has 2 Cyber Dragons left.
"This isn't like my master if
this is the end."
"Oh? Does this mean you're showing
concern for me?"
"Hmph. Maybe it is."
Samejima activates a Trap card, [Byroad
Sacrifice - Trap: You can only activate this card when a
Monster on your Field is destroyed as a result of battle.
You can Special Summon 1 Monster in your hand], which
activates when his monster is destroyed as a result of battle.
He can then, Special Summon 1 Monster from his hand. And
the card he chooses is the level 5 card [Cyber
Ogre - 5/1900/1200: {By sending this card to the Graveyard
from your hand, Battle Damage recieved by the involvement
of a Cyber Ogre existing on
your field being in battle to both players and their monsters
is reduced to 0. When this effect is used, the ATK of the
Cyber Ogre that was in battle
is increased equal to the ATK of the opposing monster that
it battled. The increased ATK from this effect will return
back to its original value at the end of the next battle
with an opposing monster.}]. A metallic cross between
demonspawn and technologic wonder appears with a mighty
roar. (Attack: 1900)
|
|
Byroad Sacrifice
Trap Card |
Cyber Ogre
Monster Card |
But, an attack power of 1900. That would inevitably end
up futile in direct combat...which is obvious to Master
Samejima. But unwittingly, Ryo plays his game and sends
Cyber Dragon in for the bait. Just before the Evolution
Burst hits Cyber Ogre, Samejima sends another Cyber Ogre
in his hand to the Cemetery to reduce damage to player and
monster to 0. The attack hits, but it hits an inpenatrable
Cyber Ogre. It's now that Samejima reveals its second effect.
The Cyber Ogre just affected by the effect will have its
attack increased by the attack power of the monster it battled
until the next time it battles. (Attack: 1900 + 2100 = 4000).
"Impressive, Master."
Ryo sets a card to end his turn.
("Ryo, you do remember the person
you used to be. Those childhood memories...")
