In
the school conference room, Temp Principal Chronos is arguing
against Vice Principal Napoleon, asking for the explanation
to abolish Osiris Red dorm. Napoleon says that Osiris Red
isn't neccessary for Duel Academy. The school should be
reserved to be the road of the elites to become professionals.
Thus, rotting oranges shouldn't enter. Surprisingly, Temp
Principal Chronos argues "That's
not true. They are not rotting oranges. I absolutely don't
allow the abolition!". He says that the way
to talk to the Vice Principal who always says "Dearu"
is so difficult. Napoleon counters that the Temp Principal
term "Nanone" is also
gloomy. ("Dearu" is
Napoleon's favorite ending and "Nanone"
is Chronos' favorite endings when they speak. Japenese has
variety of ending terms, depending on personality of a person.
It's similar to Kenzan who usually says "Don"
in his ending). Both of them stare at each other seriously
before turning their faces away. Ayukawa, Kabayama teachers,
and Pharaoh (who seems to present Daitokuji teacher's position)
feel tired of their dispute. Napoleon turns back to the
point. He proposes that Temp Principal Chronos has to obtain
400 letters to oppose the abolition. Temp Principal Chronos
can't allow Napoleon to do as he wants. However, without
the legitimate letters, Napoleon insists that Osiris Red
must be abolished. Temp Principal Chronos is getting mad
and depressed by such an unfair condition. Meanwhile, the
shadow of a student is walking pass the meeting room as
nobody notices.
At Osiris Red, Judai is getting shocked by the news about
abolition of Osiris. Asuka asks whether Sho is sure about
this. Sho confirms that it's true. Temp Principal Chronos
already tried his best to oppose Vice Principal Napoleon,
but it's no use. While people are talking, they hear the
voice of Chronos and Napoleon coming in. They are walking
straight to Osiris Red with their duel disks, arguing against
each other all the way. Temp Principal Chronos insists not
to allow him to abolish Osiris Red. However, Vice Principal
Napoleon is stubborn to do so. Without the compromise, Chronos
proposes that the duel should be the best answer. Napoleon
agrees to do as he wants. People see that the situation
seems to become more serious, ending by the unexpected duel.
Misawa notes that the true power of Vice Principal Napoleon
is still unknown. While people is getting concerned, only
Judai becomes excited to see the duel between both of them.
He looks active to enjoy the show as usual.
In
front of Osiris Red, Napoleon and Chronos are standing and
staring against each other. Upon the second floor of Osiris
Red, only Manjyome is sneaking into a room although he doesn't
understand what people are doing. Sho says that this time
is Professor Chronos' turn to become their ally fighting
for Osiris Red. Kenzan wonders whether he will be fine.
Judai tells him not to be worried since Professor Chronos
is actually strong. He is also sure that Vice Principal
Napoleon is also strong. People then interrupt him and become
unpleased after seeing Judai cheer Vice Principal Napoleon.
Asuka asks whether Judai currently understands the situation.
Misawa says that they should assist and support Professor
Chronos for Osiris Red. Although people would like Judai
to stand on one's side, Judai still cheers both sides and
would like to see the fun duel from them. Then, Sho notices
a power shovel standing close to Osiris Red and many carpenters
exercising on the other side. He doesn't know what it's
for or what they are doing. At the same time, Manjyome is
painting the room by white color. He thinks that Osiris
Red will soon be abolished, so everything should be turned
white. He continues painting while laughing alone out loud.
Pharaoh looks seemingly confused by Manjyome's act, moving
away and going out off the room.
Coming outside, Pharaoh sees Napoleon and Chronos preparing
for the duel. Napoleon is curious why Chronos has to humiliate
himself for the dropout dorm. Chronos asks what Naploean
is talking about, arguing that the person who should be
ashamed is supposed to be the Vice Principal. Napoleon suggest
Chronos stop doing such useless thing for the rotting oranges.
Judai wonders whether Vice Principal Napoleon is referring
to them, so Sho tells him that it seems to be like that.
At this point, Chronos is getting mad and yelling at Napoleon
to shut him up. People look amazed and wonder whether Professor
Chronos is going to argue for them. Nevertheless, Professor
Chronos tells Napoleon not to talk about them because he
doesn't like the way Napoleon talks. People again collapse
since they get confused by Professor Chronos' words and
act. Napoleon can't stand Chronos' words either. He says
that today will be the conclusion between them. Standing
by their duel disks, both begin the duel.
First turn comes to Napoleon. Drawing a card, he summons
Toy Soldier onto the field in an attack position [Toy
Soldier - 3/800/300: When this card is on your Field during
your Standby Phase, Special Summon cards of the same name
from your deck to the Field]. Judai thinks that it's
such a cute monster, but Misawa and Asuka don't think so.
Seeing their response, Napoleon thinks that they seem to
understand his duel a bit. Setting three face-down cards,
Napoleon ends his turn.
|
Trojan Horse
Monster Card |
Next turn moves to Chronos. Drawing a card, he plays the
magic card [Graceful Charity ~ Tenshi
No Hodokoshi - Magic: Draw 3 cards from your Deck, then
discard any 2 cards in your hand to the Graveyard]
to draw additional three cards: Antique Gear Tank, Antique
Gear Soldier, and Zero Gravity. The five cards on another
of his hand are Antique Gear Golem, Antique Gear Beast,
Premature Burial, Statue of the Wicked, and Trojan Horse.
Due to the effect of Graceful Charity, Chronos decides to
discard Statue of the Wicked and Trojan Horse into his cemetery.
Then, he plays the magic card [Premature
Burial ~ Hayasugita Maisou - Magic: Pay 800 Life points.
Select 1 Monster Card from your graveyard, Special-Summon
it on the field in face-up Attack Position and equip it
with this card. When this card is destroyed, the monster
is also destroyed]. Paying 800 LP following its effect,
he can special summon a monster from the graveyard, Trojan
Horse, onto the field in an attack position [The
Trojan Horse ~ Troy Horse - 4/1600/1200: If you Tribute
Summon an EARTH monster, you can treat this 1 monster as
2 Tribute Monsters for the Tribute Summon]. Thus,
his LP reduces to 3200 (4000-800).
Napoleon
smirks and explains that when Chronos' LP decreases, Osiris
Red dorm is gradually destroyed. Chronos looks pretty shocked
since he hasn't known it before. Manjyome feels that the
building is shaking until he falls down from the ceiling
that he is painting. The color bucket accidently pours into
his body, making him look very funny. The power shevel (caterpillar
tractor) begins to demolish Osiris Red building. Chronos
declares that he won't have him turn down Osiris Red dorm,
continuing his turn. He activates the special effect of
Trojan Horse, using it as two sacrifices to normal summon
[Antique Gear Golem - 8/3000/3000:
This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card attacks
with an ATK that is higher than the DEF of a Defense Mode
Monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your
opponent's Life Points. If this card attacks, your opponent
cannot activate any Magic or Trap Cards until the end of
the Damage Step] onto the field in an attack mode.
Kenzan looks very impressed by such a great monster summoned
merely in the first turn.
Napoleon once opens his face-down trap card [Toy
Cannon - Trap: Switch an opponent's Monster to defense mode.
Do 400 points of damage to your opponent]. By its
effect, Antique Gear Golem is forced to change to a defense
position. Also, Chronos has to get the direct 400 damages,
so his LP further reduces to 2800 (3200-400). When Chronos'
LP is decreased, Napoleon has the power shavel continue
to demolish Osiris Red dorm. The building begins to shake
until Manjyome again falls down with the white color bucket
pouring on his top.
Napoleon further opens another his face-down trap card
[Gulliver Chain ~ Permanent Trap:
Activate this card when the mode of a Monster is switched.
That Monster is placed in defense mode. When that Monster
switches to attack mode, destroy that Monster and this card].
Once it's activated, many chains appear from the ground
and hold around Antique Gear Golem's body. By its effect,
it forces Antique Gear Golem to stay in a defense position.
It will be destroyed once it changes into an attack position.
Chronos has no choice but ends his turn at this point. Misawa
thinks that Professor Chronos' play seems to be great: paying
his LP to be able to summon Antique Gear Golem. However,
Asuka thinks that Vice Principal Napoleon is also great
to be able to seal it. Judai thinks that both of them are
pretty great until Kenzan and Sho are unpleased. They think
that Judai is careless, and they had better cheer Temp Principal
Chronos at this point. Both Sho and Kenzan begin to cheer
Temp Principal Chronos out loud. Anyway, Chronos stops them
calling him Temp Principal. At the same time, Manjyome is
washing the white color on his face. Hearing the cheer from
outside, he is wondering what's going on. It seems he hasn't
realized the present situation yet.
It's now Napoleon's turn. He draws a card and activates
the special effect of Toy Soldier. In his standby phase,
if Toy Soldier remains on the field, he can special summon
other two Toy Soldiers (the cards with the same name) from
his deck. Thus, he has 3 Toy Soldiers in total on the field.
Napoleon claims that Temp Principal Chronos seems to have
no idea that he lacks three important power, strategy power,
motive power, and resolution power. Getting very depressed,
Temp Principal Chronos doesn't care. He thinks that it's
good enough if he just wins anyway.
Next, Napoleon plays the magic card [Forced
March ~ Kyoukougun - Magic: In this turn, the attack power
of your Monsters is halved, and you can attack your opponent
directly]. He explains its ability that can halve
the attack points of his monsters by half for their direct
attack. At this point, Napoleon declares the battle, giving
a command to 3 Toy Soldiers to carry on their weapons and
move forward to attack Chronos directly. However, Toy Soldiers
become exhausted and fall down on the ground while each
of their LP decreases to 400 (800/2) due to the effect of
Forced March. Chronos jeers by the collapse of the army.
Napoleon says that it's just "GattenShoujiNosuke".
People repeat his words "Gatten",
"Shouji", and "Nosuke"
and feel very confused. Judai thinks that Vice Principal
Napoleon is such a funny guy.
Note: "Gatten
ShoujiNosuke" means "understanding"
and "agreement/awareness".
In general, it means "I'm fully
awared" or "I already
knew that". "Gatten
ShoujiNosuke" sounds like old Samurai (warrior)
cartoon term in Japanese. Napoleon wants to tell Chronos
that he has already been awared of the collapse of the army
due to the effect of Forced March (The attack points of
Toy Soldiers are halved). Instead of saying in a normal
way, he speaks in this cartoon term. Thus, Judai and the
others are confused but also amused by Napoleon's way of
speaking.

Dram and
Fife Platoon
Magic Card |
Napoleon keeps on playing another magic card [Drum
and Fife Platoon ~ Kotekitai - Magic: In this turn, the
attack strength of Monsters with an attack strength of 1000
or less are doubled]. According to its effect, small
soldier band appears on the field to double the attack points
of Toy Soldiers. Thus, each Toy Soldiers' attack points
go up to the original points of 800 (400*2). Napoleon again
gives a command, ordering all soldiers to raise up, prepare,
and battle. Chronos seems to be pretty shocked by the coming
strike. |

Chronos gets the direct three hits from three Toy Soldiers.
The bullets hit his head, neck, and bottom heart. Kenzan
thinks that he should feel so painful while Sho thinks that
the damage is too large. Chronos falls down while his LP
reduces to 400 (2800-800-800-800). He struggles to argue
while falling down with pain. He tries to show his spirit
not to be defeated and his wish to educate the students.
People seem amazed by his try. Since his LP decreases, the
power shavel begins to demolish Osiris Red. Meanwhile, Manjyome
falls down on the floor by the shaking as all color buckets
pour onto his body. He then mumbles "White
Thunder~".
At this moment, Napoleon opens his reversed trap card [Unequal
Treaty ~ Fubyoudou Jyouyaku - Permanent Trap: This card
can be activated when your opponent has recieved damage
from a direct attack. Do 100 points of damage to your opponent
if your opponent draws, and increase this card's controller's
Life Points by 100]. After explaining the effect
on the card, he sets up a face-down card and ends his turn.
Now, Chronos has only 400 LP left while Napoleon still has
4000 full LP. Napoleon smirks and says that he has completely
done research on Chronos' tactics.
Chronos looks on his cards and feels very mortified. He
thinks whether this may be far enough for his play. Then,
Judai yells to cheer him up "Keep
it up, Professor Chronos! You told us, didn't you? No matter
what happens, we must not give up until the end. That's
the heart of duelist". Hearing what Judai said,
Chronos reminds himself of what he has said in a classroom.
During their first grade, Professor Chronos said repeatedly
that a duelist hadn't give up in any kind of situation.
Anyway, Judai always slept in class while Sho felt sleepy.
They didn't seem to listen to his lecture at all but still
remember it. Chronos appreciates that Judai might remember
what he taught. Judai further encourages him to show such
an exciting draw. Chronos then looks clam and turns back
to the duel. He tells Napoleon that he has learned a lot
from his students. Napoleon argues that the responsibility
of the teachers is actually to lead the students. Chronos
disagrees. He explains that he grows up many students everyday,
and he has learned a lot from them. He will show Napoleon
that answer soon.
It's now Chronos' turn. Once he draws a card in his standby
phase, Napoleon activates the effect of his permanent trap,
Unequal Treaty. Chronos' LP is reduced by 100, and it will
be added up to Napoleon's. Thus, Chronos' LP decreases to
300 (400-100) while Napoleon's LP increases to 4100 (4000+100).
No matter what, Chronos decides not to give up and keeps
on the duel. He looks at his drawn card and activates it
[Antique Gear Castle - Continuous
Magic: Increase the ATK of each face-up monster on the field
that includes Antique Gear in its card name by 300 points.
Each time a monster(s) is Normal Summoned or Set, put 1
counter on this card. If you Tribute Summon a monster that
includes Antique Gear in its card name, you can substitute
this card for a Tribute(s), if the number of counters is
equal to or greater than the number of required Tribute(s)].
Then, he normal summons [Antique Gear
Soldier - 4/1300/1300: When this card attacks, your opponent
can't activate Magic and Trap cards until the end of the
Damage Step] in an attack position. According to
the effect of Antique Gear Castle, Antique Gear Soldier's
LP increases to 1600 (1300+300).
|
Antique Gear
Tank
Magic Card |
After that, he equips a magic card [Antique
Gear Tank - Equipment Magic: This can only be Equipped to
a Monster with [Antique] in its name? Increase the Equipped
Monster's attack strength by 600. When this card is sent
from the Field to the Cemetery, do 600 damage to your opponent]
with Antique Gear Soldier. It can increase the attack points
of Antique Gear Soldier up to 2200 (1600+600). Chronos declares
the attack of Antique Gear Soldier quickly. Napoleon seems
to activate his face-down trap card, but he stops. He has
just realized that Antique Gear Soldier has the special
effect. When it attacks, Napoleon can't activate any magic
or trap card. Thus, he can't open his reversed trap, Negate
Attack, to block its strike. One Toy Soldier is destroyed,
and Napoleon's reduces to 2700 (4100+800-2200). When Napoleon's
LP decreases, Chronos claims that the carpenters can rebuild
Osiris Red. They start to build up the demolished building.
Manjyome can't stand such an annoying noise, wondering what
is happening. Judai is very impressed by that the dorm has
been revived shortly. At this point, Chronos places a face-down
card before ending his turn.
Turn moves to Napoleon. Drawing a card, he plays the magic
[The Emperor's Coronation ~ Koutei
No Taikanshiki - Magic: Upon activation, sacrifice 1 Toy
Soldier, Special Summon 1 Toy Emperor from your deck].
It allows him to sacrifice one Toy Soldier on his field
to special summon [Toy Emperor - 6/2300/800:
When this card destroys a Monster as a result of battle,
place 1 Trap card from your deck into your hand]
from his deck. He declares its attack against Antique Gear
Soldier quickly. When Antique Gear Soldier is destroyed,
Chronos' LP reduces to 200 (300+2200-2300). The power shovel
begins to demolish Osiris again when his LP decreased. Chronos
then activates the special effect of Antique Gear Tank.
When it's sent to the graveyard, 600 damages deal directly
to Napoleon. Thus, his LP goes down to 2100 (2700-600).
When his LP decreased, the carpenters start to rebuild Osiris
Red dorm.
At this time, Napoleon activates the special ability of
Toy Emperor. When this monster could destroy a monster in
battle, he can place a trap card from his deck onto his
hand. He sets up a face-down card, changes last Toy Soldier
on the field into a defense position, and ends his turn.
Napoleon smirks and thinks that this trap is actually [Pit
Trap ~ Otoshi Ana: You may activate this card When your
opponent summon or reversed summon a monster. If that monster
have a attack strength of 1000 or more, destory it].
By its effect, Chronos will be defeated once he summons
a monster. Kenzan notices Napoleon smirking. Sho feels very
certain that the face-down card must be a trap. Misawa is
smart enough to guess that it must be Pit Trap. Only Judai
seems to have some hope. He thinks that anybody can't guess
what'll happen.
|
Antique Gear
Engineer
Monster Card |
The final turn of Chronos has come. Once he draws a card
in his standby phase, Napoleon activates the effect of Unequal
Treaty. As a result, Chronos' LP decreases to 100 (200-100)
as Napoleon's LP increases to 2200 (2100+100). Napoleon
explains that this means there will be no more turn for
Chronos. Chronos thinks that this turn will be the end.
He then activates another effect of Antique Gear Castle.
It has remained for a turn, so one counter has been placed.
Removing this counter as a sacrifice with this card, Chronos
can sacrifice summon [Antique Gear
Engineer - 5/1500/1500: The activation of targetting Trap
cards while this card is in play are negated and destroyed.
When this card attacks, your opponent cannot activate Magic
or Trap cards until the end of the Damage Step. When this
card destroys a Monster as a result of battle, you can destroy
1 Magic or Trap card on your opponent's Field] onto
the field in an attack position.
Napoleon sees that Chronos has come to meet his trap card.
However, Chronos argues that his trap card is useless. Due
to the special effect of Antique Gear Engineer, any trap
activation is negated. Napoleon further argues that compared
to Toy Emperor's attadck points, Antique Gear Engineer's
attack points are still too few to destroy it. Chronos says
that he must not give up, declaring the attack of Antique
Gear Engineer against defending Toy Soldier. Although Toy
Soldier is destroyed, Napoleon doesn't think that there
is any effect at all. Chronos claims that from now on is
the real one. He activates the special ability of Antique
Gear Engineer. When it can destroy a monster in battle,
he can destroy a trap card on Napoleon's field. He certinaly
selects to destroy Gulliver Chain sealing his Antique Gear
Golem. The chains are broken, and Antique Gear Golem is
released. Napoleon still smirks and points out the mistake
that Antique Gear Golem is still in a defense position.
It can't change the position in the battle phase to attack
in this turn. Misawa agrees to that Prefessor Chronos should
have destroyed Unequal Treaty. If it remains, there will
be no next turn. Judai anyway is very confident that Prefessor
Chronos must be able to do something.
As he said, Chronos hasn't done any mistake at all. He
opens his reversed trap card [Zero
Gravity ~ Jyuuryoku Takjyo - Trap: Change the battle of
positions of all face-up monsters on your and your opponent's
sides of the field]. By its effect, the monsters
of both sides must change their position. Thus, Toy Emperor
and Antique Gear Engineer turn into a defense position as
Antique Gear Golem changes into an attack mode. Chronos
declares that this should be the last battle. Napoleon argues
that it's impossible because Toy Emperor is in the defense
position. Therefore, he won't get any damage at all. Chronos
tells him that Napoleon may have already forgetten the special
ability of Antique Gear Golem. When it can destroy a monster
in a defense position, damages equal to the differences
will be inflicted to the opponent. Chronos can't forgive
anyone calling his students the rotting oranges. Kenzan
thinks that Professor Chronos looks pretty great. Chronos
then declares the last attack of Antique Gear Golem against
Toy Emperor. When Toy Emperor is destroyed, Napoleon gets
the damages due to its special ability. His LP decreases
to 0 (2200+800-3000), so he is finally defeated.
Judai
tells Temp Principal Chronos that it's such a great duel.
Chronos forgets himself and almost shows the victory sign
as Judai did. He tells Judai to stop calling him Temp Principal.
Everybody is very glad by his victory, running in to him.
Meanwhile, Manjyome has just left the room on the top floor,
and still doesn't understand what's going on. Finally, Osiris
Red dorm is totally renovated. Tome-San distributes the
meal for the exhausted carpenters for their hard work. Judai
and Sho have just realized how much Professor Chronos loves
them and Osiris Red. Chronos certainly looks shy and tries
to argue that it's not ture. While he isn't finishing his
words, Pharaoh steps in by his leg. He looks very frightened,
cries, and says that he hates Red dorm. Then, he runs away
so fast since he actually hates a cat (neko). No matter
what Professor Chronos says, Judai has already understood
his true feeling to them.
To be continued...
