episode 68 summarized by Janime |
|
The duel between Judai and Edo bet by the existence of
Osiris Red dorm is continued. Because Aqua Neos returns
to Judai's deck, his field is all wiped out. This is the
chance for Edo to attack him directly by D-Hero Diehard
Guy, Diamond Guy, and Devil Guy. Judai's LP reduces quickly
to 200. At this point, Edo has 2300 LP left. Judai feels
relieved that he survived from the three direct attacks.
He hadn't known before that Aqua Neos couldn't stay more
than one turn. Edo is certain that the victory of this duel
has already been determined. He thinks that Judai still
doesn't understand the burden of the destiny of the real
Hero after all.
It's now Judai's turn. He draws a card, gets E-Hero Bubbleman,
and special summons it onto the field in an attack position
[E-Hero Bubbleman - 4/800/1200: If
this card is the only card in your hand, you can Special
Summon it in attack mode. When this card is successfully
Normal Summoned, Special Summoned, or Reverse Summoned when
it is the only card on your Field, draw 2 cards from your
deck]. This is the special summon according to its
special effect: special summon when it's the only card on
Judai's hand. Also, when it's the only card on the field,
Judai can draw additional two cards. One of them is Pot
of Greed, so he plays it to draw additional two cards. Judai
then attaches E-Hero Bubbleman with [Bubble
Shot - Equipment Magic: This card can only be equipped to
a Elemental Hero Bubbleman on the Field. Increase the Equipped
Monster's attack strength by 800. Destroy this card in order
to prevent the equipped Monster from being destroyed, and
taking any damage]. Thus, E-Hero Bubbleman's attack
points increase to 1600 (800+800).
|
N-Air Hummingbird
Monster Card |
After that, Judai normal summons the new Hero [N-Air
Hummingbird - 3/800/600: Increase the controller of this
Monster's Life Points by 500 for each card in your opponent's
hand. This effect can only be used once during a turn. ]
in an attack position. Judai thinks that Air Hummingbird
is so cool while Air Hummingbird tells him to fight together
for all. Then, Judai activates its special. Three cards
on Edo's hand become three flowers as Air Hummingbird flies
into them. Judai explains that by Air Hummingbird's special
effect, he can gain 500 LP for each card on Edo's hand.
Thus, his LP increases to 1700 (200 + 500*3). Edo looks
very amazed by the monster with LP recovery ability. After
that, he lets E-Hero Bubbleman attack D-Hero Diehard Guy.
When D-Hero Diehard Guy is destroyed, Edo's LP decreases
to 1500 (2300+800-1600). Judai declares the remaining attack
of Air Hummingbird against D-Hero Devil Guy later. Thus,
Edo's LP further decreases to 1300 (1500+600-800). Setting
up a face-down card, Judai ends his turn. People hardly
believes the way that Judai played to change his position.
They seem very amazed by the unknown power of Neo Spacian
Hero.
Turn comes to Edo, and he draws. Edo still doesn't accept
the existence of any other Hero rather than his D-Hero.
He then plays the new field magic [Dark
City - Field Magic: Increase the attack strength of all
Monsters on the Field with D-HERO in their name by 1000
points when battling a Monster with higher attack strength].
When the new field magic is played, the current The Mausoleum
of the Deceased Emperor field magic disappears. Edo explains
its effect that can increase the attack points of his D-Hero
monster by 1000 when it attacks a monster with higher attack
points. Judai realizes that this is similar to his field
magic, Skycraper, but it's played only for D-Hero.
|
D-Hero Double
Guy
Monster Card |
After that, Edo sacrifices D-Hero Diamond Guy on the field
to summon [D-Hero Double Guy - 6/1000/1000:
This card cannot be Special Summoned. This Monster can attack
two times in the same Battle Phase. When this Monster is
destroyed, during your next Standby Phase, Special Summon
2 Double Guy Tokens (Dark/ Warrior/4/1000/1000) to your
Field in attack mode] in an attack mode. He declares
the attack of D-Hero Double Guy against E-Hero Bubbleman
(1600 atk) quickly. Since E-Hero Bubbleman currently has
higher attack points, D-Hero Double Guy's attack points
go up to 2000 (1000+1000) following the effect of Dark City.
Once it attacks E-Hero Bubbleman, Judai activates the ability
of Bubble Shot. It can be destroyed to protect E-Hero Bubbleman
from being destroyed and Judai from taking any damages.
At this moment, Edo activates the special effect D-Hero
Double Guy that it can do the second attack in the same
battle phase. Thus, D-Hero Double Guy turns to destroy Air
Hummingbird, and Judai's LP reduces to 1500 (1700+800-1000).
Setting up a face-down card, Edo ends his turn.
Note: The attack points of D-Hero Double
Guy turns back to its original 1000 points when it attacks
Air Hummingbird because its original points (1000) are higher
than Air Hummingbird's (800). Thus, it doesn't satisfy the
requirement of Dark City to gain 1000 attack points in the
second attack.

Soul Share
- Common Soul
Magic Card |
Turn comes to Judai. He draws a card and plays it [Graceful
Charity ~ Tenshi No Hodokoshi - Magic: Draw 3 cards from
your Deck, then discard any 2 cards in your hand to the
Graveyard]. By its effect, he draws two additional
cards discard two cards, Soul N-Flare Scarab and Soul Share
- Common Soul, into his graveyard. After that, he opens
his face-down trap card [Fallen Angel's
Gift ~ Datenshi No Hodokoshi - Trap: Both player's can return
cards discarded to the Cemetery by a Magic effect in this
turn, into their hands]. According to its effect,
both sides can take back their discarded cards by the magic
effect in this turn. Thus, Judai can get back N-Flare Scarab
and Soul Share - Common Soul onto his hand. He then plays
the permanent magic card [Soul Share
Common Soul ~ Tamashii No Kyouyuu Common Soul - Permanent
Magic: If there is 1 other Monster on the Field, Special
Summon 1 Monster with Neo Spacian in your hand to the controller
of that other Monster. The attack strength of that other
Monster is increased if the attack strength of the Monster
with Neo Spacian in its name is increased. When this card
is removed from the Field, return the Neo Spacian named
Monster to your hand]. By its effect, Judai can special
summon [N-Flare Scarab - 3/500/?:
Increase this Monster's attack strength by 400 for each
Magic or Trap card on your opponent's Field] onto
an attack position.
Edo
looks amazed by the new Hero monster of Judai as Judai introduces
his new friend, Flare Scarab. He tries to convice the existence
of the new Heros. Edo is certainly annoyed by that Judai
looks happy to flaunt about his heros. He can't accept any
hero that doesn't hold the destiny. Judai looks at Edo and
says "Absolutely, I feel so sorry
about your father. But seeing the new heros is exciting.
You also got it, didn't you Edo?". Edo seems
to clam down and thinks of what Judai said about seeing
the new heros. Judai further explains that Edo's father
certainly didn't create D-Hero for him to feel painful but
to be happy and enjoy it. Edo reminds himself of his childhood
experience with his dad. It's true that his dad created
Hero for him to enjoy. It's all for his happiness. However,
Edo's face is getting sad when he thinks that he feels painful
every time he looks at his D-Hero. It's completely different
from what his dad hoped.
Vice Principal Napolean can't stand, getting up to wake
Edo up. He tells Edo not to hesitate and listen to what
Judai said. Judai argues and tells Vice Principal Napolean
to shut up. He didn't intend to confuse Edo, but it's the
truth. Vice Principal Napolean then yells at Edo to scatter
Judai by his D-Hero holding the destiny. Hearing the words
related to the destiny on his shoulders, Edo thinks whether
he designates his D-Hero as the prisoners of the destiny.
Meanwhile, Judai interrupt Edo's thought by declaring the
special effect of N-Flare Scarab, Flaming Illusion. Due
to this effect, its' attack points can increase by 400 points
for each magic or trap card in Edo's field. There are a
magic and trap card on Edo's field, one is the field magic
Dark City and another one is his face-down trap card. As
a result, the attack points of Flare Scarab go up to 1300
(500+400*2). Furthermore, by the effect of Soul Share -
Common Soul, the attack points of the special summoned monster,
N-Flare Scarab, can be added into another monster, E-Hero
Bubbleman, on Judai's field. Therefore, the total attack
points of E-Hero Bubbleman become 2100 (800+1300). Judai
then declares the attack of E-Hero Bubbleman against D-Hero
Double Guy. When D-Hero Double Guy is destroyed, Edo's LP
significantly decreases to 200 (1300+1000-2100).
|
D-Hero Defendguy
Monster Card |
At this moment, Edo opens his reversed trap card [Destiny
Signal - Trap: You can only activate this card when a Monster
is destroyed as a result of battle. Special Summon 1 Level
4 or less Monster with D-HERO
in its name from your hand or deck]. By its effect,
after his monster is destroyed, Edo can special summon a
D-Hero monster from his deck onto the field. Thus, he selects
to summon [D-Hero Defendguy - 4/100/2700:
If this card is on the Field in defense mode, your opponent
draws 1 card from their deck during their turns]
on a defense position. Judai looks very impressed by the
greatly defending monster with 2700 defense points. Anyway,
Edo explains its effect that if D-Hero Defendguy is in the
defense position in Judai's turn, Judai is allowed to draw
one card. Here seems to be the end of Judai's turn.
Now, it's Edo's turn. He draws a card and activates the
special effect of D-Hero Double Guy. When it's destroyed,
Edo can special summon two Double Guy tokens with 1000 points
for each onto the field in an attack position during his
standby phase. Then, he plays the magic card [Mystical
Space Typhoon ~ Cyclone - Instant Magic: Destroy a trap
or magic card on the field] from his hand to destroy
Judai's permanent magic card, Soul Share - Common Soul.
Without this card, Flare Scarab special summoned by it is
returned to his hand, and the attack points of E-Hero Bubbleman
decrease to its original 800 points. Edo declares the attack
of Double Guy token against E-Hero Bubbleman at once. When
E-Hero Bubbleman is destroyed, Judai's LP reduces to 1300
(1500+800-1000). Continuously, Edo declares the second attack
of another Double Guy token against Judai directly. Getting
direct strike, Judai's LP decreases to 300 (1300-1000). |

After Judai gets the direct hit, Edo ends his turn. Edo
now has 200 LP left while Judai has 300 LP left. Sho is
getting more worried about Judai as Kenzan thinks that Edo
is really pretty strong. Vice Principal Napolean thinks
that Edo is doing well while Temp Principal Chronos seems
to cheer Judai. It's now Judai's turn. After he draws a
card, he draws another card according to the effect of D-Hero
Defendguy. Then, he activates the magic card [The
Shallow Grave ~ Asasugita Hakaana - Magic: Each players
takes one Monster Card from his or her respective Graveyard
and Special Summons it to the Field in face-up Defense Mode].
By its effect, both Judai and Edo can special summon a monster
from their graveyards onto the field in a defense position.
Judai selects [Hero Kids - 2/300/600:
If this Monster is Special Summoned, you can Special Summon
Monsters from your deck with the same name to the Field]
and activates its special effect to summon another two Hero
Kids from his deck. Edo thinks that Judai is still stupid
to give him this chance, asking whether Judai's already
forgotten about his great D-Hero monster sleeping in the
cemetery. Edo certainly selects to resummon D-Hero Dread
Guy from his graveyard. According to the special effect
of D-Hero Dread Guy, Edo can send all non-D-Hero monsters,
two Doubly Guy tokens, into the cemetery to special resummon
two D-Hero monsters, D-Hero Diamond Guy and D-Hero Diahard
Guy, from the graveyard into a defense position. Furthermore,
due to the special effect of D-Hero Dread Guy, its attack
and defense points increase by the total combined attack
points of all other D-Hero monsters on the field. Thus,
they become 2300 (1400+800+100: Diamond Guy, Diehard Guy,
and Defendguy).
Judai hasn't finished his turn yet. At this moment, he
again normal summons N-Flare Scarab onto the field in an
attack position. According to its effect, its attack points
can go up by 400 points for each magic or trap card on Edo's
field. Because only Dark City of Edo remains face-up on
the field, N-Flare Scarab's attack points increase to 900
(500+400). Judai then declares its attack against defending
D-Hero Diehard Guy. When Diehard Guy is destroyed, the defense
points of D-Hero Dread Guy decreases to 1500 (1400+100).
Setting up two face-down cards, Judai ends his turn.
|
D-Hero Dogmaguy
Monster Card |
Turn comes to Edo. He draws a card and plays Pot of Greed
to draw additional two cards. Then, he sacrifices D-Hero
Diamond Guy, Defendguy, and Diehard Guy to summon [D-Hero
Dogmaguy - 8/3400/2400: This card cannot be Normal
Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except
for sacrificing 1 monster on your side of the field that
includes D-HERO in their names
and 2 other monsters. When this card is Special Summoned,
decrease your opponent's Life Points by half during their
next Standby Phase]. People look very amazed by the great
monster with 3400 attack points. If it attacks, Judai will
be surely finished.
Edo declares the attack of D-Hero Dogmaguy against N-Flare
Scarab quickly in his battle phase. At the same time, Judai
opens his reversed trap [Kids Guard
- Trap: Sacrifice 1 Hero Kids on your Field in order to
negate an opponent's attack, place 1 card with E-HERO in
its name from your deck into your hand]. It allows
him to sacrifice one of three Hero Kids to negate the attack
of D-Hero Dogmaguy. After Hero Kids is gone, N-Flare Scarab
says that it won't make this sacrifice worthless. It tells
Judai that now it's time to borrow the power of Neos. Judai
shakes his head before looking to his deck. With the another
effect of Kids Guard, he can place a Hero monster, E-Hero
Neos, from his deck into his hand. Edo sets up a card before
ending this turn. Due to another trap or magic card that
Edo set up, it increases the attack points of N-Flare Scarab
to 1300 (900+400).
It's now Judai's turn. Once he draws a card in his standby
phase, Edo activates the special effect of D-Hero Dogmaguy.
It can reduct Judai's LP by half, so his LP decreases to
150 (300/2). People think that Judai now has 150 LP as Edo
has 200 LP left. Each side can be finished by a single strike.
Temp Principal Chronos looks very nervous and can't guess
who will win. Judai tells Edo that he now really has a lot
of fun by the battle of many Heros. Anyway, there is still
a new Hero in his deck. Edo surely becomes more surprised.
Judai then activates the field magic [Neo
Space - Field Magic: Increase the attack strength of all
Monsters with E-HERO Neos on the Field by 500. Increase
the attack strength of any E-HERO Special Summoned by fusing
together E HERO Neos with a Neo Spacian by 500. As long
as this card is on the Field, any E-HERO Special Summoned
by fusing together a E HERO Neos with
a Neo Spacian do not return to the deck at the End Phase
of a turn]. Once it's set up, Dark City of Edo is
destroyed while the whole battlefield changes into space
theme.
|
E-Hero Flare
Neos
Monster Card |
After that, Judai sacrifices two remaining Hero Kids to
normal summon [E-Hero Neos - 7/2500/2000].
By its effect of Neo Space, the attack points of E-Hero
Neos go up to 3000 (2500+500). Edo argues that his D-Hero
Dogmaguy still has higher attack points (3400). Judai counters
his words by saying that he is gonna show the possibility
of his Neos. He then declares [Contact
Fusion ~ Contact Yuugou] between E-Hero Neos and
N-Flare Scarab. Edo looks very surprised by the new fusion
term. Judai explains that the fusion of these two monsters
doesn't require Polymerization. They fuse together in the
sky and create such bright light. Seeing this light, Edo
feels familiar that he has seen it before when he was a
child. The gorgeous draw of his father was very bright and
made his heart beating strongly like this. It's the excitement
of seeing a new Hero. Judai introduces Edo his new contact
fusioned monster [E-Hero Flare Neos
- 7/2500/2000: Return the above cards on your Field into
your deck in order to Special Summon this Monster without
the use of a Fusion Magic card. This card's attack strength
is increased by 400 for each Magic or Trap card on the Field.
This Monster is returned back to the Fusion Deck during
the End Phase].
According to the special effect of E-Hero Flare Neos, its
total attack points can go up by 400 for each magic or trap
card on both sides. There are 3 trap or magic cards on the
fields in total: two unknown face-down cards of Judai and
Edo, and one face-up field magic Neo Space. As a result
this effect and the effect of Neo Space, the attack points
of E-Hero Flare Neos increase to 4200 (2500+ 3*400 + 500).
As Edo looks amazed, Judai declares its attack against D-Hero
Dogmaguy quickly. Meanwhile, Edo opens his reversed trap
card [D-Shield - Trap: This card activates
when your opponent attacks a D-HERO on your side of the
Field. Switch that Monster to defense mode and equip this
card to it. The equipped Monster cannot be destroyed as
a result of battle]. This changes D-Hero Dogmaguy
into a defense position and protects it to being destroyed.
Judai feels very impressed by Edo's play as accepting his
real strength. Edo seems glad to receive it.
|
Heavy Storm
Blade
Magic Card |
Turn moves to Edo. Drawing a card, he looks on Judai's
field and has just understood. That E-Hero Flare Neos didn't
disappear as did Aqua Neos may be because of Neo Space.
Judai confirms by saying that Neo Space keeps all E-Hero
monsters contact fusing with any Neo Spacian on the field.
Edo accepts that Neos may be such a wonderful hero. However,
he is sure that he won't be defeated in this game. Looking
at his card, Edo changes the position of D-Hero Dogmaguy
into an attack position. He then plays a magic card [Heavy
Storm Blade - Equipment Magic: When the Monster equipped
with this card attacks, destroy all Magic and Trap cards
on the Field besides this card], equipping it with
D-Hero Dogmaguy. Due to the special effect of E-Hero Flare
Neos, because there is another magic card played by Edo,
the attack points of E-Hero Flare Neos further go up to
4600 (4200+400). Edo challenges Judai to his final conclusion
attack, declaring the attack of D-Hero Dogmaguy against
Judai. People wonder why Edo declares the attack despite
the fact that his monster has fewer attack points.
At this moment, Edo activates the special effect of Heavy
Storm Blade. It can destroy all magic and trap cards on
the field except for itself. That means face-up trap D-Shield
on Edo field, face-down magic card of Judai, Calling Magic,
and field magic Neo Space are all wiped out. At this points,
the attack points of E-Hero Flare Neos reduce to 2900 (2500+400:
only Heavy Storm Blade remains). Edo is certain that Judai
will disappear in this strike. D-Hero Dogmaguy attacks E-Hero
Flare Neos, but it's blocked and it's equipped Heavy Storm
Blade is broken. Edo is getting very surprised. Judai feels
sorry to Edo and explains that the attack points of E-Hero
Flare Neos are actually 3700. This is as a result of Judai's
face-down magic, Calling Magic, sent into the graveyard
by the effect of Heavy Storm Blade [Calling
Magic - Magic: When this card is destroyed by a Magic or
Trap card effect, you can set 2 Magic cards from your deck
to your Field]. When it's destroyed by Edo's magic
card, Judai can set up two magic cards on his field. Therefore,
there are 3 magic cards on both fields in total not only
Heavy Storm Blade of Edo. This results in the final attacks
of 3700 (2500+3*400) for E-Hero Flare Neos.
Edo
looks very shocked and has just realized that this is what
has gone beyond Saiou's prediction. It's the power of Neos.
Meanwhile, Saiou is openning a tarot card and getting a
reversed position of [Wheel
of Fortune], which refers to an unexpected bad
event or defeat. Because E-Hero Flare Neos has higher attack
points, D-Hero Dogmaguy is destroyed. Edo's LP turns to
0 (200+3400-3700), and he's finally defeated. Judai enjoys
his duel and declares his favorite words "What
a nice duel!". Sho and Kenzan are so glad by
his victory that they forget that they are holding each
other. Misawa praises Judai and Edo for their splendid duel
while Asuka feels relieved that Osiris Red dorm would be
safe. While Judai is waving his hand to his friend, Edo
walks in. He tells Judai that he accepts his today defeat.
However, it doesn't mean that D-Hero was defeated, but it's
because of his own play. Judai replies that nobody thinks
that D-Hero is weak at all. Everybody has a Hero in his
own mind, and it's certainly his greatest Hero. Anyway,
Judai thinks that their duel results are tie. They have
one lose one win, resulting in no count. Edo tells him to
make the final conclusion later before leaving. Vice Principal
Napolean becomes scared when Edo is looking at him. Since
Edo is defeated, Temp Principal Chronos says that the plan
to turn down Osiris Red dorm has to be next time. Both of
them are interrupted and shocked by the sudden appearance
of Edo close to them. Edo forgets to confirm them about
his attached position with the school from now on. However,
because he is pretty busy with Pro League, so he may not
come frequently. Then, he leaves while both Vice Principal
Napolean and Temp Principal Chronos are still amazed.
When
Edo comes outside Duel Academia, he tries to contact Saiou.
However, Saiou is away, and he isn't in the White Hall room.
His phone number currently isn't in use. Edo wonders whether
Saiou has already gone from him. He has something that he
needs to ask Saiou especially Association of Light that
Manjyome previously talked to him about. He also wants to
know what Saiou is thinking. Anyway, Edo believes that if
he stays at this school, he will certainly meet Saiou again.
That's because there is the person, Saiou's target, who
can get over his prediction staying here. That's person
is nobody else but Yuki Judai with his new Neos deck.
to be continued...
