Edo introduces the new Hero that surpasses E-Hero, which is called [D-Series]. While Judai looks amazed, Edo declares that Judai's destiny has already been determined. Meanwhile, he activates the special effect of D-Hero Devil Guy to send E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman to 2 turns in the future. Edo claims that it's the power of D-Hero to manipulate the fate of the future. Misawa is wondering whether this ability is actually real. Due to this special effect, D-Hero Devil Guy can't attack in this turn. Thus, Edo sets up a reversed card before ending his turn. Then, Judai becomes excited by the existence of the new future E-Hero form, D-Hero, and doesn't look worried as usual.

It's now Judai's turn. Once he draws a card in his standby phase, Edo activates the first movement of Clocktower Prison. It's gonna move in every Judai's standby phase. Professor Chronos notices that the clock moves to 3.00 o' clock. People don't understand what it means, but they can feel something weird. Edo tells Judai that the countdown to his destiny has already started. He can't escape from the fate of defeat. Judai replies that he doesn't believe in the destiny. The future can be open by himself. Then, he summons Wroughtweiler onto an attack position [Wroughtweiler ~ Friendog - 3/800/1200: If this Monster is sent to the Cemetery, you can return 1 Polymerization and 1 Monster with Elemental Hero in its name into your hand]. He lets it attack and destroy D-Hero Devil Guy, so Edo's LP reduces to 1600 (1800+600-800).

Destiny Signal
Trap Card

At this moment, Edo opens his face-down trap card [Destiny Signal - Trap: You can only activate this card when a Monster is destroyed as a result of battle. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or less Monster with D-HERO in its name from your hand or deck]. Judai realizes shortly that this card looks the same as his Hero Signal. Edo mentions that its effect allows him to special summon a D-Hero with level 4 or less from his hand or deck onto the field when a monster is destroyed in battle. Thus, Edo summons his second D-Hero [D-Hero Diehard Guy - 3/800/800: During your next turn's Standby Phase, Special Summon 1 D-HERO destroyed as a result of battle in the same turn from your Cemetery]. He declares its special effect at the same time when a gear of destiny appears on the field. Edo also explains that it allows him to special summon a monster destroyed in this turn in his next standby phase. Judai sees that it's the effect to revive a monster in the future. Here seems to be the end of Judai's turn.

D-Hero Diamond Guy
Monster Card

Turn moves to Edo's quickly. In his standby phase, he certainly reactivates the special ability of D-Hero Diehard Guy to revive the previously destroyed monster. The gear of destiny starts spinning, and there becomes D-Hero Devil Guy. Misawa looks surprised and wonders whether D-Hero of Edo really has the ability to manipulate the future. Then, Edo normal summons the new monster [D-Hero Diamond Guy - 4/1400/1600: Reveal the top card of your deck, if that card is a Magic card, place that card in the Cemetery and during your next turn, that card's effect is activated] into an attack position. He once activates the special effect of D-Hero Diamond Guy that lets him reveal the top card of his deck. If it's a magic card, he has to send it into the graveyard and then activate its effect in the next turn. Edo draws the top card on his deck and reveals that it is the magic card, Misfortune. Thus, he sends it to the cemetery and prepare for the activation in his next turn. Meanwhile, people begin analyzing Edo's future technique. Misawa explains that any magic or trap is normally activated from the field. The point remains when the card is destroyed but it still has the ability to be reactivated in the future. Asuka further adds that if the card isn't on the field, any counter is impossible. Manjyome has just realized and expresses his strong interest to Hero D-series.

In Edo's battle phase, he lets D-Hero Diamond Guy attack and destroy Wroughtweiler. Thus, Judai's LP reduces to 2200 (2800+800-1400). At this moment, Judai activates the special effect of Wroughtweiler to get back Polymerization and a Hero monster, E-Hero Bubbleman, from his graveyard. Edo claims that his attack still remains. He declares the attack of E-Hero Diehard Guy against Judai directly. Judai falls down while his LP further decreases to 1400 (2200-800). Setting a reversed card, Edo ends his turn.

D-Shield
Trap Card

It's now Judai's turn. In his standby phase, Edo declares the second movement of Clocktower Prison. The clock moves to 6.00 o' clock, but nothing has happened yet. Drawing a card, Judai summons E-Hero Bubbleman in an attack position. When there is no other card on the field, he can activate its special effect to draw additional two cards. After that, he equips Bubble Shot with it, so its attack points become 1600 (800+800). Judai declares its attack against D-Hero Diehard Guy. At the same time, Edo opens his reversed trap card [D-Shield - Trap: This card activates when your opponent attacks a D-HERO on your side of the Field. Switch that Monster to defense mode and equip this card to it. The equipped Monster cannot be destroyed as a result of battle]. This shield is equipped with D-Hero Diehard Guy and changes it into a defense position. The monster also can't be destroyed, so Edo claims that it is an invulnerable shield. Professor Chronos becomes impressed by invulnerable D-Hero Diehard Guy while Vice Principle Napolean admires Edo's Pro tactic. Judai can do nothing else, ending his turn.

Misfortune
Magic Card

Turn is back to Edo. Two turns have already passed, so E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman is returned onto the field according to the special effect of D-Hero Devil Guy. Edo reminds Judai that the effect of Misfortune, which he previously sent into the graveyard, will be activated in this turn. He feels sorry to Judai before actviating its effect. Although its ability doesn't allow him to attack in this turn, he can let Judai's monster deal damages equal to a half of its attack points to him directly [Misfortune - Magic: Do damage to your opponent's Life equal to half the original attack strength of 1 Monster on your opponent's Field. In this turn, you cannot attack]. Of course, Edo lets E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman attack Judai. Therefore, Judai's LP reduces to 150 (1400 - 2500/2). Moreoever, Edo repeats the special effect of D-Hero Devil Guy to send E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman to two turns in the future. Asuka sees that Edo has planned in advance to play this combo to attack Judai by his own monster. Misawa notes that Edo's combo even seals Judai's normal way of attack. Meanwhile, Saiou hopes that Judai will keep on struggling like this. He has realized that his defeat has already been determined anyway. In this battle against Edo, if Judai keeps on fighting and struggling beyond limit, he will help polishing Edo as well. When Judai is defeated, the power that Saiou put into Edo's deck will lead Judai to his destiny. He will become his servant and walk into the road of light together.

It's now Judai's turn again. Once he draws a card, Edo declares the third movement of Clocktower Prison. The clock moves to 9.00 o' clock. Edo tells Judai that it's impossible for him to struggle when his destiny has already been decided. Judai looks worried and stares seriously.

summary - second period
episode 59 translated by Janime

Judai begins to smile and laugh while Edo looks confused. He looks very excited, seeing his D-Hero. It brodens the new image of his E-Hero. Edo tells him that there is no other new Hero rather than his D-Hero in this world, and D-Hero is the ultimate form. Judai becomes more curious. In his view, there are "E" and "D", so there should be other letters for Hero as well. His positive attitude seems to annoy Edo very much. Then, Judai continues his turn. He lets E-Hero Bubbleman attack and destroy E-Hero Devil Guy with Bubble Shot, so Edo's LP reduces to 800 (1600+800-1600). At this time, Edo activates the special effect of D-Hero Diehard Guy. The gear of destiny reappears on the field and prepares to revive D-Hero Devil Guy in his next turn. Judai summons E-Hero Clayman into a defense position, ending his turn.

Ring of Magnetism
Magic Card

Turn moves to Edo. Drawing a card, he onces declares the effect of D-Hero Diehard Guy to go on the reviving process. The gear of destiny begins to spin and finally becomes D-Hero Devil Guy. He then activates the special effect of D-Hero Diamond Guy again. It allows him to show the first card on his deck, which is the spell card Magical Stone Excavation. Thus, he can send it into the graveyard so that he can activate it in the next turn following the effect of D-Hero Diamond Guy. Repeatedly, Edo activates the special effect of D-Hero Devil Guy to send E-Hero Bubbleman to two turns in the future. After that, he equips D-Hero Diehard Guy with [Ring of Magnetism ~ Chiryoku No Yubiwa - Equipment Magic: You can only equip this card to a monster on your side of the field. Decrease the attack and defense of a monster equipped with this card by 500 points. In addition, all the monsters on your opponent's side of the field can only attack the monster eqiupped with this card, if they attack]. This card decreases the defense points of D-Hero Diehard Guy to 300 (800-500). However, it forces Judai to attack it only. People think that Judai is in such a trouble now. Since D-Hero Diehard Guy is still protected by invulnable D-Shield, Judai may not be able to attack or destroy it. Edo smirks and asks what Judai plans to do next. Here is the end of his turn.

E-Hero Necroid Shaman
Monster Card

It's now Judai's turn. Again, Edo declares the forth movement of Clocktower Prison. The clock moves to 12.00 o' clock, exactly one round. After drawing a card and getting E-Hero Wildman, Judai looks at other cards on his hand: Burial from Another Dimension, De-Fusion, Polymerization, and E-Hero Necro Darkman. He plays Polymerization to fuse E-Hero Wildman and E-Hero Necro Darkman on his hand into [E-Hero Necroid Shaman - ?/1900: Sacrifice 1 Monster on your opponent's Field in order to Special Summon 1 Monster from your opponent's Cemetery on your opponent's Field]. Edo smirks and says that E-Hero's power still becomes worthless in front of his D-Hero. Judai then activates the special effect of E-Hero Necroid Shaman that allows him to remove D-Hero Diehard Guy from his field and resurrect E-Hero Featherman from Edo's graveyard onto the field. Sho thinks that the attack of E-Hero Necroid Shaman should be effective at this point. Asuka points out that if this attack becomes successful, Judai will win (Edo's LP becomes 0: 800+800-1900).

Judai quickly declares the attack of E-Hero Necroid Shaman against D-Hero Devil Guy. There is the big explosion, but it seemingly doesn't reach Edo. He seems to have some barrier to protect himself. Edo feels pity to Judai. No matter what kind of attack Judai did, he can't change his destiny of defeat. Edo explains that the effect of Clocktower Prison has been activated after 5 turns have passed (Count Edo's activation turn as the first one and four turns of Judai's standby phase). Due to its effect, any damage done to him becomes 0 [Clocktower Prison ~ Yuugku No Tokeitou - Field Magic: At your opponent`s standby phase, place one clock counter on this card. If this card has 4 or more clock counters, the controller of this card takes 0 battle damage. If this card is destroyed with 4 or more clock counters, special summon D-Hero Dreadguy from your hand or deck]. Setting up two reversed cards, Judai ends his turn. Manjyome has just realized that the clocktower contains such a potential ability. Misawa feels that the situation doesn't look good because Judai's E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman will return.

Magic Stone Excavation
Magic Card

In Edo's standby phase, E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman is returned due to the speciall effect of D-Hero Devil Guy. Misawa continues thinking that, in this turn, Edo can play the effect of Magical Stone Excavation, which he previously sent to his graveyard due to the effect of D-Hero Diamond Guy. According to its effect, Edo can get back a magic card from his cemetery. Certainly, he will take back Misfortune. Asuka notes that if Misfortune is reactivated, Judai will be defeated (Repeatedly, he will be attacked by a half of E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman's attack points). As people analyzed, Edo activates the ability of Magical Stone Excavation [Magical Stone Excavation ~ Mahouseki No Saikutsu - Magic: Discard 2 cards from your hand. Place 1 Magic card from your Cemetery into your hand]. Sending two cards, Terraforming and Fusion Sage, into his graveyard, he gets back Misfortune. He absolutely activates it from hand immediately, repeating the attacking process of E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman. While people are getting worried whether Judai will be finished her, Judai claims that Edo's attack has already been read. He suddenly opens two reversed magic card, De-Fusion and [Burial from Another Dimension ~ Ichigenkara No Maisou - Magic: Return Monster cards removed from the game to your Cemetery]. Due to the effect of Burial from Another Dimension, Judai can play De-Fusion to turn E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman back to E-Hero Sparkman and E-Hero Flame Wingman. Thus, the attack of E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman becomes invalid, just passsing Judai. This is the end of Edo's turn.

Note: In episode 58, Judai summons E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman by Miracle Fusion. In other words, he has to remove E-Hero Sparkman and E-Hero Flame Wingman from the game to be able to summon E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman. Thus, in order to resummon E-Hero Sparkman and E-Hero Flame Wingman onto the field by De-Fusion, Judai has to satisfy its condition by returning them into his cemetery. This explains why he has to activate Burial from Another Dimension: to satisfy the condition of De-Fusion.

D-Hero Dread Guy
Monster Card

Turn comes to Judai. Drawing a card, he plays the field magic [Fusion Gate ~ Field Magic: While this card is on the Field, the Fusion card is not needed to fuse monsters. Monsters being fused in this way are not put into the Cemetery, but removed from the game instead]. Once a new field magic is played, Judai claims that Edo's field magic, Clocktower Prison will be destroyed. While the clocktower buildings begin to collapse, Edo smirks and says that this is what he has waited for. Due to the special effect of Clocktower Prison, when it is destroyed, it allows Edo to special summon a D-Hero monster from his deck. The new D-Hero is finally released from the clocktower [D-Hero Dread Guy - 8/?/?: When this Monster is Summoned or Special Summoned, destroy all non-D-HERO Monsters on your Field in order to Special Summon 2 D-HERO Monsters from your Cemetery. If this Monster is in attack mode during the Summoned turn, a D-HERO would not be affected by an effect or Battle Damage. This Monster's attack and defense strength is equal to the combined attack strength of all D-HERO on the Field]. Edo then activates its special effect to destroy non-D-Hero monster, E-Hero Featherman, to special resummon 2 D-Hero, D-Hero Devil Guy and D-Hero Diehard Guy, from the cemetery. Furthermore, the attack and defense points of D-Hero Dread Guy are equal to the combined attack points of all D-Hero monsters on the field or 2800 (600+800+1400).

This is still Judai's turn. He smiles and says that the effect still has some weaknesses. He activates the effect of Fusion Gate, fusing E-Hero Clayman and E-Hero Sparkman on the field into [E-Hero Thunder Giant - 6/2400/2500: Destroy 1 Monster on your opponents Field face-up with attack strength base lower than attack strength of this Monster. This effect can only be used once during your Main Phase]. Judai activates its special effect to destroy D-Hero Diamond Guy. At this moment, Edo counters by the special effect of D-Hero Dread Guy that can protect all D-Hero monsters on the field from any battle damage. Thus, the special effect of Thunder Giant becomes invalid, Judai can't go on any further attack either: his monster has lower attack points than D-Hero Dread Guy, and he can't attack any other D-Hero monsters. This seems to be the end of his turn.

Edo admires that Judai could read well, and he might be a good duelist. However, he claims that Judai can't defeat him since he lacks some inspiration of using Hero. Edo reveals his story that he is using Hero monster to revenge the person who killed his father. People certainly look very amazed, seeing this truth. Edo's father is a superior card designer of Pegasus's company, Industrial Illusion. One day, he was murdered by a criminal, and left Hero D-series for him. Edo was once optimistic, waiting for the police to catch the criminal. However, nothing was done, so he decided to start his own movement. He finally became a hero to look for the criminal. He would show that he could use the inherited power from his dad to judge people in the world. This also explains why he joins pro league. The person who killed his father has the card the nobody else in the world has. Thus, he has to become the hero, beat criminals, and look for his real target. Judai understands Edo's suffer, but he disagrees to the extent that Edo is using the valuable cards from his father for the revenge. Edo feels so irratated by Judai's words. He thinks that Judai just plays Hero by forms without intention or inspriation. However, for him, Hero is neccessary to live. Therefore, he believes that it's the true Hero.

Edo

Your reading is sweet, Judai! You are certainly a good duelist, but you can't defeat me definitely. Why?...because I have something that you don't have.

Judai Something that I don't have...?
Edo That's the reason that makes us desire hero. I am using the power of D-Hero to revenge the person who killed my dad.
Judai Revenge?
Edo My dad is Duel Monster card designer of Industrial Illusion Corporation. He was the father who was proud of himself by that he designed many superior monsters. However, on that day, my father was attacked by a person, and his life was taken away.
Judai That is... probably, your father
Edo That's right. The card that my dad lastly created...that is Hero D-series...the power that my dad gave to me! Once, I believed in the power of justice like you. Therefore, I waited for the criminal to be arrested. However, nothing was done yet, the criminal wasn't caught after all. Thus, I swear to my heart! I am becoming a hero to search for that criminal. If the person can't be judged in the world, I will show that I can use the power of D-Hero to judge criminals to reverse the world. Then, I have become a pro duelist...in order to develop the game world and to find the criminal. The criminal who killed my had has the card that nobody else in the world has. I can't forgive...that criminal...no...anybody who does bad things!
Judai But...Hero that your father has left for you...you are using it as a tool for revenge!?
Edo Don't say as if you understand, Judai! That's disgusting. You are merely the guy who is using Hero for your own desire. For me, it's neccessary. In order to beat that guy, it's the real Hero that gives the power to me.

The last turn comes to Edo. Drawing a card, Edo is preparing to checkmate. Meanwhile, Saiou says that Judai's destiny has eventually been on his hand. Edo declares the final attack of D-Hero Dread Guy against E-Hero Thunder Giant. Then, he turns back and says "Disappear, Trash!" before leaving the stage. Due to this attack, E-Hero Thunder Giant is destroyed and Judai's LP becomes 0 (150+2400-2800). As a result, he is finally defeated. Judai's cards are all blown out around the field while his friends are getting so shocked. Looking at his cards, Judai notices them become blank before falling down.

to be continued...
