The Pro Leage ends by the victory of Edo, and becomes the
first defeat of Kaiser. People are all shocked after seeing
the unexpected match. Edo is interviewed by the press after
the game. A lady admires him that it's such a very beautiful
match. Edo replies that although Kaiser seemed to be pretty
strong, his victory just followed the destiny. The reporter
further asks, "This time, you
used your treasuring Hero deck. What is that timing for?".
Edo answers that some guy is using the same deck at Duel
Academy. Kenzan has realized at once that Edo is refering
to his Big Brother, Judai. Edo first mentions his interest
in the duelist who is playing the same Hero deck at Duel
Academy, but he hasn't expressed Judai's name yet. He has
heard of this duelist from Kaiser recently. In case he can
beat Kaiser, his Hero deck should be considered stronger.
Thus, Edo has used this stage to announce his Hero deck.
Misawa is getting mad, thinking whether Kaiser was just
used for Edo's deck promotion. Edo further says that he
wants to use this stage to send the challenge to that duelist
playing the same deck at Duel Academy before expressing
Judai's name officially. People look amazed while looking
at Judai's act. Edo tells Judai that he will go to the school
tomorrow to make the true conclusion since the previous
duel between them was merely the testing game. This battle
will judge who better suits to use the real Hero deck.
 |
"
There is a duelist who plays the same Hero deck
as I do in Duel Academy. Originally, Hero deck
was created by my quick thought, but this duelist
becomes famous by a maniac. Recently, I have
heard about that duelist from Kaiser. In case
I can beat Kaiser, I become stronger. Thus,
this is a good opportunity to announce this
deck.
However, some fans seem
to think that it's still imperfect. Thus, I
want to borrow this stage to send the challenge
to that duelist, who plays the same Hero Deck,
Yuki Judai. Yuki Judai! I will go to the school
tomorrow. At the time, let's make the true conclusion...which
side suits to use the real Hero?" |
|
At Duel Academy, people still look amazed by the sudden
challenge of Edo to Judai through the press. Chronos then
utters "Mum Ma Mia"
as surprise. Napolean looks certainly happy because the
duel between Edo and Judai is exactly what he wants to accomplish
his goal (to get rid of Osiris Red). People turn to talk
to Judai while Asuka notes that this will be Hero VS Hero
duel. Anyway, Judai's fighting spirit starts burning, and
he becomes very excited by this great chance.
At
the white hallroom, Edo walks in while Saiou is mixing the
tarot cards. Saiou asks whether Edo really wanna go. Edo
confirms since he doesn't want to waste time on this issue
but goes around the world to look for his person as soon
as possible. Saiou tells him that although he rushes himself,
the gate of his destiny has already been open. He says while
placing the tarot cards on the table for the fortune. Also,
he asks whether Edo is gonna use that card (He hasn't mentioned
yet what it is). Edo confirms and asks Saiou to tell him
the real form of Yuki Judai's Hero deck. Saiou wonders whether
Edo can't stand the pride of using the same deck. Anyway,
he can see the future through Edo's deck. Edo walks in and
gives Saiou his cards for the fortune. Once Saiou touches
the deck, black aura comes out from it while his purple
eyes begins to glow. After he finishes the fortune, he returns
it to Edo. Edo asks Saiou about his destiny. Saiou thinks
that there should be no problem. Edo smirks and says that
he will return quickly before leaving the room for Duel
Academy.
Meanwhile,
Professor Chronos and Napolean are waiting for the coming
of Edo at the seaport during the night time. They expect
him coming by the sea. However, nobody has expected that
Edo is actually coming by sky surfing. A plane is flying
over the island while Edo is preparing himself for flying
down. He jumps out off the plane alone and sky surfs toward
Duel Academy. He seems very skillful at this job. On the
other side, Misawa and Sho are doing some research on Edo
Phoenix. They find many of his hobbies like surfing, sky
diving, and skiing. What a sport omnipotence! Also, despite
ditching the class, he still gets two Ph.D degrees. Sho
has to accept that he is really a genius among talents.
Anyway, Judai starts yawning and getting bored. He doesn't
understand why people have to do this and tells them to
stop the examination. The person who is gonna duel is him.
Sho argues that Misawa is trying to help Judai find the
weakness of Edo. Judai explains that he doesn't care whether
he will lose or win. Whatever he wants is just to have fun
with the duel. He then jumps on the bed, feeling much better
and so great with Ra Yellow bed before feeling asleep quickly.
Sho and Misawa've realized that this is what Judai is.
Sho looks throughout the window and see the light of Phoenix
flying outside. Certainly, Edo Phoenix is sky diving and
landing on the island by a parachute. At this moment, there
is a thief sneaking into the school and stealing many cards
at the store. While he is running away, he hears the laughing
voice behind. It's actually Edo's voice. He says that card
burglars seem to be everywhere. The theif turns back, looks
up to the school building, and sees the shadow of a monster,
which is supposed to be D-Hero Devil Guy. Edo claims that
his crime will be appealed through the duel. Thus, the theif
prepares his duel disk for the battle. At
the same time, Professor Chronos and Napolean see Edo's
surfboard floating on the sea, wondering what it is. Suddenly,
there is the big explosion coming from the school while
the thief is falling down. He looks scared as facing D-Hero
Devil Guy of Edo. Edo smirks while sitting on a statue.
He tells the thief that it may not be possible to give up
now because his destiny has already been determined. After
that, D-Hero Devil Guy attacks the thief directly. It results
in such a big scream that can alert everybody. All people
are following the screaming sound towards the school.
Edo is checking the theif's deck and sees that this guy
doesn't have the card, which is looking for. Thus, he throws
the cards back over him. People have finally arrived. They
look amazed when they see Edo Phoenix. Napolean is wondering
how Edo has come to this island. Sho asks about the guy
laying on the floor, running in to check him. Edo says coldly
that it's just the trash that sneaked into the store to
steal the cards. Sho looks at the thief and feels that this
is too cruel. Misawa asks what Edo actually did to this
guy. Edo doesn't give him the answer, but turns to Judai
and greets him that they haven't met each other for a while.
Sho is getting mad by the improper greeting. Edo is supposed
to call Judai "Sempai ~ Senior"
not just "Judai"
(Prefix/suffix or proper words to show the level of people
are very significant in Japanese culture). Judai has to
tell Sho to calm down. Then, Edo gets to the main point,
telling Judai to make the conclusion of their game.
Napolean walks in and tells Edo Phoenix that this duel
should be attached by the condition of Red dorm existence.
Professor Chronos looks very shocked by this sudden talk.
Edo replies that if a guy wants to utilize him in a duel,
he must be his sponsor. Considering Napolean's salary at
this school, Edo doesn't think he is qualifed. Thus, he
walks pass without care since it's gonna waste his time
to talk. Napolean certainly gets mad, but Professor Chronos
tries to calm him down because this is true in business.
Edo tells Judai that the duel will be made up tomorrow morning.
Besides,
he doesn't want any excessive audience but Judai's friends.
For him, this duel has nothing special. He explains that
a pro doesn't expose his skills or duels recklessly. Judai
accepts the challenge with serious face, saying "That's
fine. In this duel, as a duelist who plays the same Hero
deck, I absolutely won't be defeated. Hero deck is everything
to me!". Edo laughs and tells him "Don't
forget your words, Judai" before leaving. Napolean
and Professor Chronos then follow Edo.
Next morning at the duel area, some staffs are preparing
the battle stage while Judai is walking up to the field.
As Edo said previously, only Judai's friends are allowed
in this duel. Thus, there are merely Asuka, Misawa, Manjyome,
Kenzan, Sho, and Junko and Momoe sitting on the other side.
Napolean and Professor Chronos are, of course, watching
this game. Asuka mentions that the game is gonna start.
Kenzan believes that Judai will win as Sho looks very worried.
Judai looks at his deck and says "I
count on you, my heros!". Then, Edo is walking
up on the other side with the cheer of Junko and Momoe.
They are arguing who is actually caught by Edo's sight.
Asuka feels a bit ashamed by her friends' act. Sho says
that they seem to completely betray people. Thus, Asuka
gets up and says that she will go and call them back. However,
everybody stops her from going. Sho explains that if she
goes, she may not be able come back. In other words, she
may be forced to sit there for the whole game. Asuka has
no choice and sits down with red face.
Then, Napolean officially announces the duel between Judai
and Edo. Professor Chronos looks at Judai and hopes that
he will do his best in this game. Meanwhile, a disguised
stage worker is contacting Saiou about the progress of the
duel. Saiou has realized that the game is gonna start although
he has already known what the result will be between two
of them. Edo sets up his deck into the duel disk. Meanwhile,
Winged Kuriboh's spirit appears from Judai's deck and talks
to him.
Judai understands that Winged Kuriboh wants to warn him
not to become reckless, and he has to union with his friends
fighting with him for a year in this duel. Looking at Judai,
Edo becomes more curious what Saiou is particularly attached
with to this kind of duelist. Then, Judai declares "Edo,
the battle between Hero and Hero, let's make the extreme
duel!". Edo responds by saying "Let's
make the conclusion who is using the real Hero!".
Standing by their duel, both of them being the duel. |

- second period
episode 58 translated by Janime |
|
The duel between Edo and Judai starts begins with Edo's
turn. Drawing a card, he summons E-Hero Clayman in a defense
position and ends his turn quickly [E-Hero
Clayman - 4/800/2000]. Misawa thinks he has been
confirmed that Edo's deck is really Hero deck. In Judai's
turn, he draws a card and plays Polymerization to fuse E-Hero
Burst Lady and E-Hero Featherman on his hand into [E-Hero
Flame Wingman - 8/2100/1200: This monster can be summoned
only by fusion. When this Monster destroys a Monster as
a result of Battle, do direct damage to your opponent equal
to the attack points of the destroyed monster]. He
lets it attack and destroy E-Hero Clayman before activating
the special effect of E-Hero Flame Wingman. Due to this
special ability, Edo has to take the direct damages from
the attack points of his monster, so his LP decreases to
3200 (4000-800).
It's then Edo's turn. He draws a card and also plays Polymerization.
Similarly, he fuses E-Hero Burst Lady and E-Hero Featherman
on his hand into [E-Hero Phoenix Guy
- 6/2100/1200: This Monster cannot be destroyed as a result
of battle. This Monster can only be Special Summoned by
Fusion Summoning]. Judai becomes very excited by
seeing actually cool Phoenix Guy. Edo declares the attack
of E-Hero Phoenix Guy against E-Hero Flame Wingman at once.
Both attacks, Phoenix Shoot and Flame Shoot, of both monsters
are striking against each other in the middle field. However,
only E-Hero Flame Wingman is destroyed. Misawa points out
that although they have same attack points, Phoenix Guy's
special ability protects it from being destroyed in battle.
Judai smiles and looks excited rather than worried. Edo
then says firmly that Judai will not win this game. He explains
that although both of them are playing the same Hero deck,
there is still some different settlement and Judai will
get it soon. Judai becomes very curious what that difference
is. Edo stops talking and claims for Judai's turn.
Next turn, Judai draws a card and summons [E-Hero
Bubbleman - 4/800/1200: If this card is the only card in
your hand, you can Special Summon it in attack mode. When
this card is successfully Normal Summoned, Special Summoned,
or Reverse Summoned when it is the only card on your Field,
draw 2 cards from your deck] in an attack mode. Without
any other card left on the field, Judai can draw additional
two cards following E-Hero Bubbleman's special effect. After
that, he plays the magic card, The Warrior Returning Alive,
to get back E-Hero Featherman from his cemetery to his hand
[The Warrior Returning Alive - Magic:
Place 1 Warrior Monster from your Cemetery into your hand].
He fuses E-Hero Feather and E-Hero Sparkman on his hand
with E-Hero Bubbleman on the field to summon [E-Hero
Tempester - 8/2800/2800: This monster cannot be Special
Summoned except by Fusion Summon. By sending 1 card (except
this card) from your side of the field to the Graveyard,
select 1 monster on your side of the field. While this card
is face-up on the field, the selected monster is not destroyed
as a result of battle. (Damage calculation is applied normally.)].
Judai lets it attack E-Hero Phoenix Guy immediately. Asuka
notes that although E-Hero Phoenix Guy isn't destroyed in
battle, Edo still has to receive the battle damages. Thus,
his LP decreases to 2500 (3200+2100-2800). Misawa adds that
E-Hero Tempester isn't easy to be destroyed due to its high
attack points anyway.
Turn comes to Edo. He draws a card and gets another Polymerization.
Thus, he uses it to fuse E-Hero Phoenix Guy on his field
with E-Hero Sparkman on his hand into [E-Hero
Shining Phoenix Guy - 8/2500/2100: Increase this Monster's
attack strength by 300 for each Monster with E-HERO
in its name in your Cemetery].
He then activates the special effect of E-Hero Shining Phoenix
Guy, increasing its attack points to 4000 (2500+400*5);
five monsters in his graveyard are E-Hero Burst Lady, Featherman,
Sparkman, Clayman, Phoenix Guy. Edo declares the attack
of E-Hero Shining Phoenix Guy against E-Hero Tempester.
When E-Hero Tempester is destroyed, Judai's LP reduces to
2800 (4000+2800-4000). Setting up a face-down card, Edo
ends his turn.
Next in Judai's turn, he draws a card and gets Pot of Greed.
Thus, he plays it to draw additional two cards, getting
Skycraper and Miracle Fusion. He decides to first play [Miracle
Fusion - Magic: Remove the Monsters determined by a Fusion
Monster from your Field and/or Cemetery from the game, and
Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Fusion Deck
with E-HERO in its name. This Special Summon is treated
as a Fusion Summon]. Due to its effect, he can remove
E-Hero Sparkman and E-Hero Flame Wingman in his cemetery
from the game to summon [E-Hero Shining
Flare Wingman - 8/2500/2100: Increase this Monster's attack
strength by 300 for each Monster with E-HERO in their name
in your Cemetery. If this Monster destroys a Monster as
a result of battle, do damage to your opponent equal to
the attack strength of that Monster]. Similarly,
the attack points of E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman go up
to 3700 (2500+4*300); four monsters in is graveyard are
E-Hero Burst Lady, Featherman, Bubbleman, and Tempester
while Flame Wingman and Sparkman have already been removed
from the game to play Miracle Fusion.
Edo thinks that although Judai is playing the similar monster,
his E-Hero Shining Phoenix Guy still has higher attack points.
Judai tells Edo not to hurry to draw the conclusion while
playing Light Eraser from his hand [Light
Eraser - Equipment Magic: When the Equipped E-HERO battles
a Monster, remove that Monster from play]. He equips
it with E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman and claims its effect
to remove a monster from the game. Manjyome thinks that
Judai is pretty smart. Misawa agrees. If E-Hero Shining
Phoenix Guy can't be destroyed in battle, Judai can instead
remove it from the game. After that, Judai plays the field
magic [Skycraper ~ Field Magic: Increase
the attack strength of all Monsters on the Field with E-HERO
in their name by 1000 points when Battling a Monster with
higher attack strength]. According to its effect,
when E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman faces against E-Hero Shining
Phoenix Guy with higher attack points, its attack points
can move up to 4700 (3700+1000). Judai declares its attack
quickly while Edo does the same thing to E-Hero Shining
Phoenix Guy. Judai activates the ability of Light Eraser
to remove E-Hero Shining Phoenix Guy from the game then
after the attack. Therefore, Edo has to receive the battle
damages, his LP reduces to 1800 (2500+4000-4700), and E-Hero
Shining Phoenix Guy is destroyed or removed from the game.
Asuka is glad to see that Judai has finally been able to
beat E-Hero Shining Phoenix Guy.
Judai tells Edo that he really enjoys the game. He has
just felt the excitement of Hero battle like this for the
first time. Nevertheless, Edo feels annoyed by Judai's amusing
words. He claims that Judai doesn't understand the burden
of Hero, suffering and hatred, that he is carrying on his
shoulders. This becomes the power of his Hero. Judai just
plays Hero for fun following his own desire. However, for
Edo, Hero is neccessary for him to live, so it's the real
Hero. Edo declares to begin the gear of destiny as opening
his reversed-trap card [D Time - Trap:
Activate this card when a E-HERO is removed from your Field.
Place an amount of D-HERO cards from your deck to your hand
with a combined level equal or lower than the removed card].
This card can be activated when a E-Hero monster, E-Hero
Shining Phoenix Guy, is removed from the game. It allows
him to put two D-Hero (Destiny Hero) from his deck onto
his hand. People look very amazed by the new D-Hero term.
Nobody has heard of it before. Sho turns back to ask whether
Misawa knows something. The theorical guy like Misawa still
has no idea, so Sho thinks that he is hopeless. Edo says
that Judai hasn't realized the true power of E-Hero yet.
Judai is wondering what it means. Edo explains that it is
the sleeping evolution power of [Hero
D-Series]: Destiny, Destroy, and Death, which surpasses
E-Hero of Judai.
 |
"It's
fun? Don't amuse, Judai! The fate that doesn't
acquire Hero battle isn't the funny thing. The
heaviness of Hero on the shoulders...that suffering
and hatred...do you understand it, Judai? It's
the strength that supports Hero. How disgusting!
You are just the guy who uses Hero by shapes
and yearn. For me, it's neccessary...in order
to live, it's the real Hero. At this moment,
it's the time to turn the gear of destiny!"

D-Hero Devil
Guy
Monster Card |
It's now Edo's turn. He draws a card and plays the field
magic [Clocktower Prison ~ Yuugku
No Tokeitou - Field Magic]. The city theme created
by Skycraper is wiped out at the same time that the attack
points of E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman reduce to 3700 (4700-1000).
The clocktower buildings appear, surrounding the whole field.
Edo claims that here is the battlefield of D-Hero, declaring
to turn back time of the destiny clock. The time is turned
to 12.00 with the appearance of a monster on the top of
the clocktower. It's certainly the first D-Hero monster
[D-Hero Devil Guy - 3/600/800: Once per turn, if this card is in face-up Attack Position on your side of the field, you can remove from play 1 of your opponent's monsters. The player who used this effect cannot declard an attack this turn, and the removed monster will be returned to the opponent's side of the field in the same battle position during your second Standby Phase after activation]. Edo declares the strike of D-Hero Devil
Guy at once. Manjyome and Misawa don't understand what Edo
is doing. It's apparent that E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman
has 3700 attack points, which are much higher. Edo corrects
people that he doesn't declare the attack but the effect
of D-Hero Devil Guy that makes E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman
disappear. He explains that D-Hero Devil Guy's effect, in
each turn, can send a monster to 2 turns in the future.
Actually, the handling of future destiny is what Hero D-Series
is. Edo smirks and tells Judai that his destiny has already
been determined...
