In
the dorm of Osiris Red, Majyome was lying on his huge bed,
complaining about his room. It was so small that there wasn’t
enough room for all the antiques and furniture he owns,
and many of them had to be held outside in a tent. Majyome
yelled, complaining that his room was small, too small,
and very small. Evidently it’s possible to be all
those three things at once, especially with a king-sized
bed taking up half the room. Hearing Majyome’s voice,
Ojama Yellow emerged from the deck, and, completely ignoring
the duelist’s complaints, begged Majyome to help in
the search for his siblings, Ojamas Green and Black. Annoyed
as always, Majyome yelled at Ojama Yellow, telling it to
shut up and that he has nothing to do with its siblings.
Upset by Majyome’s obvious response, Ojame Yellow
began to cry, which, of course, annoys Manjyome further.
Majyome attempted to grab at the Ojama, finally clasping
it between his hands to make it disappear. Manjyome then
proceeds to complain, blaming everything on “that
guy.” Of course, the “that guy” he refers
to is Judai, who entered the room with Sho while Majyome
complained. Judai asked who Majyome was referring to. Manjyome
didn’t answer, but instead asked why the two didn’t
knock before entering, to which Sho replied that they couldn’t
knock, considering the door had been removed and placed
outside the room. Manjyome became embarrassed, realizing
that he removed the door to allow extra space. Looking around
the room, Judai became impressed, because although their
rooms were the same, Majyome’s looked larger due to
the bed. So, Judai and Sho began jumping on the said bed,
which upset Majyome. He didn’t invite them in, and
asked them to stop, then asks why they came. While still
jumping on the bed, Judai and Sho answer that the principal
wanted to see Majyome to talk to him about something. The
message was delivered to Manjyome, so he asked for just
how long they’d continue to jump on his bed.
In the principal’s office, Majyome asked what the
serious issue is. Judai thought it may have been the 7-Stars
again, but Daitokuji-sensei said that it was something else.
(Note: sensei is an honorific used for teachers, so this
name is often translated as Daitokuji teacher, or some may
call him Mr. Daitokuji. However, I’m calling him Daitokuji-sensei,
because it’s what they call him, and it makes the
most sense.) Principal Sameshima said that there was a sudden
offer for someone to purchase the school, on a condition
set up by Kaiba Seto, the owner of the school. The condition
was a duel, should the purchaser duel a student of the school
and win, they could complete the purchase. Judai understood
the situation and asked if he could duel, but Principal
Sameshima told him that the duelist has already been chosen.
Considering Majyome was called up to the office, everyone
could guess it was him
Suddenly,
a phone call came in. Daitokuji-sensei connected the call
to the screen, and everyone was amazed by the appearance
of Chousaku and Shouji, Majyome’s older brothers.
Sho wondered if those trying to purchase the school was
the Majyome Group, and Manjyome demanded an explanation
from his brothers. They explain that their goal is to rule
the financial, political, and card game worlds, but because
Manjyome had thus far failed at controlling the card game
world, they decided to take the matters into their own hands.
Furthermore, they selected Manjyome as their opponent. Judai
thought that if one of the brothers was to duel against
Manjyome, Manjyome would easily win; the brothers are amateurs,
so neither could face an experienced duelist such as Manjyome.
Chousaku, however, disagreed. He showed them a briefcase
full of rare cards, the same cards that Manjyome didn’t
use against Judai in the interschool match. Chousaku planned
on using those cards to create a powerful deck, and there
was one more condition: Manjyome could not use cards with
more than 500 attack points. Judai and Sho thought that
was an unfair condition, but Kaiba agreed to it, thinking
that the students of Duel Academia should at least be capable
of doing that. (Note: The Manjyome brothers should just
feel lucky that Mogi wasn’t chosen as their opponent.
His Mokey Mokeys have less than 500 attack points, so he
could use them to wipe the floor with either of the brothers.)
Chousaku and Shoji bid the duelists farewell, saying that
they look forward to the fun duel. Before Manjyome could
leave, Judai and Sho offered their help, wanting to share
their strengths with Manjyome. However, Manjyome refuses,
saying he’s the one dueling, so he must depend on
himself.
| Principle
Sameshima |
I
have waited for you, Manjyome-Kun. |
Manjyome |
What
is the matter, Principle? Is it serious? |
Judai |
Impossible!
Probably, 7 stars have come to attack again? |
| Daitokuji
Teacher |
That
isn't the problem. |
Manjyome |
Well, what is...? |
| Principle
Sameshima |
It
is about the sudden offer of the school acquisition.
This destiny will be made in the conclusion of the duel
between the purchaser and a student. |
Manjyome |
What? |
Judai |
By
the duel? |
| Principle
Sameshima |
The
owner here will be changed. However, he brought up a
duel condition to the purchaser. |
Kaiba |
Well,
the future road may be open by an ax in hand. You must
defeat a duelist in Duel Academia. If you win, I will
hand over the school to you. |
| Daitokuji
Teacher |
Those
words seem to force us... |
Judai |
If
that so, please let me duel, Principle! |
| Principle
Sameshima |
That
may be impossible. The duelist has already been identified
by his destiny. |
Judai |
That
can't be... |
| Principle

Um... |

Manjyome? |

You

What!
The purchasing opponent is Manjyome Group...!? |
Manjyome |
Brothers,
what does this mean? |
| Chousaku/Shousaku |
As
you know, our goals are to control the political world,
the financial world, and the card game world. Then,
Manjyome Group will dominate the entire world. |
Manjyome |
But
I still... |
| Chousaku |
Who
or the drop out makes an opponent? |
| Shouji |
We
will acquire this school by ourselves. We have decided
to enter this card game business. You are assigned to
duel against our brother. |
Manjyome |
I
and Chousaku brother? |
Sho |
Although
he says that... |
Judai |
...Manjyome's
brother is merely an amateur in duel. Against Manjyome
holding the real strength from this school, he won't
win at all. |
| Chousaku |
Ha
ha ha! Of course, I will show you this. There are valuable
cards that Manjyome didn't use. I will create a deck
from these cards. Also, Jun...you use cards with less
than 500 attack points in this fight. |
Manjyome |
What? |
Sho |
That
is impossible! |
Judai |
That
is such an unfair condition. |
| Chousaku |
This
condition... |
Kaiba |
That's
fine. The opponent of the purchaser can definitely do
that. |
| Chousaku |
I am looking forward to have fun with
this duel Ha Ha Ha!!! |
In
the Duel Academia, students talked about the upcoming duel
between Manjyome and his brother. Some believe that Manjyome
will just surrender, so that the school will belong to his
family, the Manjyome Group. Manjyome couldn’t stand
the gossip, and turned to yell at them, but Judai firmly
told the crowd that Manjyome is a student of the school,
and would never surrender so easily. Manjyome stopped Judai,
telling him that he talks too much, and that his help is
useless. Manjyomes words offended Judai, but Misawa and
Asuka came and stopped the quarrel. They had already heard
the story, and offered their assistance to Manjyome, should
he need their help. Evidently, everyone wanted to contribute
something to Manjyome’s duel. Again, Manyjome refused
their offers, because it was his duel. Kaiser entered, and
told Manjyome not to be harsh, because if he was to lose,
it would affect all the students. More importantly, he knew
that Manjyome could not duel with his current deck. Everyone
wondered what he meant, and Kaiser explained that the condition
was that he must use cards with less than 500 attack points.
Manjyome explained that his decks are built for power, and
the only card with less than 500 attack points is Ojama
Yellow. Revealing the card to everyone, the crowd was surprised,
probably not because that was the only weak card he had,
but more likely because he has such a strange card with
him.
Judai was worried about how Manjyome could create a deck
for that duel, when Daitokuji-sensei appears and tells them
of a rumor he heard. There is a used well in the forest
of the island, which became a trash can for weak cards,
where students would throw cards they had no use for. However,
the cards became evil spirits and since that time have cursed
people. After hearing the story, Manjyome didn’t care.
Even if the curse is true, he can’t protect the school
without those cards. The crowd seemed impressed by Manjyome’s
statement and intent.
Manjyome
entered the forest alone to look for the cards, but Judai
followed. Manjyome asked why Judai followed, and Judai explained
that the destiny of the Duel Academia is in his hands, so
Judai wanted to protect Manjyome if any evil spirits came.
Manjyome said that was ridiculous, and that evil spirits
coming from cards is impossible. Before he could finish,
however, the spirit of a card flies past his face, into
the sky. Looking up, Manjyome and Judai see many spirits.
Manjyome said that it appears they have already come, while
Judai said he was glad that Manjyome could also see card
spirits like Judai does. Manjyome replied that it wasn’t
the time to talk about such things, as the spirits were
going to attack. The attacks passed right through Judai
and Manjyome, however, and neither of them were hurt. Manjyome
realized that it was because they had zero attack points,
so they wouldn’t get hurt no matter how many times
they’re attacked. Despite being evil spirits, they’re
still weak cards. (Note: Manjyome calls them “sako,”
meaning “small fry” or “weak monster,”
which is a term Kaiba usually uses for Yugi’s cards.)
When both of them arrived at the well, Judai was very excited,
and pointed it out to Manjyome, who responded that he could
easily see it himself. They dropped a rope ladder and descended
into the well, where many cards were lying. Judai saw the
multiple cards on the ground and understood that they were
in a sort of card graveyard. Manjyome said that there would
only be weak cards there, while Judai thought that they
may find something interesting. Suddenly, the spirits of
Ojama Green and Ojama black appeared in front of them, and
ask Judai and Manyjome what they were doing, and if they
knew who had thrown them down there. Manyjome responded
that he didn’t know because he didn’t discard
them, but the Ojamas didn’t believe him and began
arguing. Growing tired of the argument, Manjyome told the
Ojamas to do what they want, if they even can, with only
zero attack power. They Ojama brothers wept, knowing they
can’t do anything with their weak strength, upsetting
other spirits inside the well. Judai and Manjyome plugged
their ears, annoyed by the noise.
Ojamas
Green and Black continue to cry, now crying about their
missing brother, Ojama Yellow. It was then that Ojama Yellow
appeared on Manjyome’s head, asking who called it.
The three Ojamas were surprised by their sudden meeting,
Ojama Yellow called the other Ojamas Black Nii-chan and
Green Nii-chan. (Note: Nii-chan is a word for older brother,
meaning that, like Manyjome, Ojama Yellow is the youngest
of the three.) The Ojama brothers were delighted by their
reunion, but Manjyome told them he was returning. Judai
asked Manjyome what he intented to do with the cards, and
the three Ojama beg him for help, accompanied by all the
other cards in the well. Judai asked Manjyome for his answer,
addressing Manjyome in such a casual way that Manjyome reminds
Judai to call him “Manjyome Thunder.” However,
realizing that it couldn’t be helped, Manjyome agreed
to take all the cards with him. The spirits were overjoyed,
thanking Manjyome and calling him “Manjyome-sama,”
so he again reminded them to call him “Manjyome Thunder.”
Ojama Yellow tried to thank his master with a kiss, but
Manjyome hit it away, disgusted. The other Ojama brothers
(green and black) tried to do the same, but Majyome shoved
them away as well, as all the spirits in the cave chanted
Manyjome’s name in thanks.

In the Duel Academia duel arena, everyone was ready for
the duel between Manjyome and Chousaku, the duel that would
decide the destiny of the school. Chousaku said Manjyome
knew the condition, so he was impressed that his younger
brother had the courage to not run away, despite the terrible
condition. Manjyome replied and said that he had something
to declare: not only would he follow the condition and only
use monsters with less than 500 attack points, his deck
had only 0 attack point monsters. The crowd was in shock.
A deck with cards that don't have a single attack point?
It sounded impossible. Judai claimed he never heard of Manjyome's
intention to do that before, and Sho wondered if Manjyome
had just planned to lose. However, Judai told Sho not to
say such foolish things, and that no matter what, he'd believe
in Manyjome. Although Chousaku was enraged at Manjyome's
attitude, he hoped that it would make the duel a bit more
fun, and the duel began.
The first move was Manyjome's. He drew a card, then played
Soul Tiger in defense mode [Soul Tiger
- 4/0/2100] and ended his turn. Asuka commented that
if all Manyjome's monsters only had 0 attack points, all
he could do was defend, to which Judai replied that even
though it's only a defense, 2100 defense points are hard
to break through.
It then became Chousaku's turn. He drew a card and played
Polymerization to fuse Lord of D. and Divine Dragon
Ragnarok from his hand, creating King Dragun [King
Dragun ~ Ryou Majin King Dragun - 7/2400/1200: While this
card is face up on the field, your opponent cannot target
Dragon sub-type monsters with Magic, Trap, or effect monsters.
Once per turn, you can special summon 1 dragon sub-type
monster from your hand to the field]. People were
surprised to see such a powerful monster played by such
an inexperience duelist on the first move. Chousaku then
activated the effect of King Dragun, allowing him to special
summon one dragon sub-type monster from his hand to the
field once per turn. As such, he special summoned Emerald
Dragon [Luster Dragon#2 ~ Emerald
Dragon - 6/2400/1400] to the field. People grew worried
because Manyjome had to face two monsters, each with 2400
attack points. Chousaku declared King Dragun's attack against
Soul Tiger, then Emerald Dragon's attack to Manyjome's life
points directly. That decreased Manyjome's life points to
1600 (4000-2400), and his friends began to grow concerned.
After that, Chousaku ended his turn.
It was then Manjyome's turn again, and he quickly set one
monster, then ended his turn. Chousaku began his turn, and
summoned Sapphire Dragon in attack position [Luster
Dragon ~ Sapphire Dragon - 4/1900/1600], then used
the effect of King Dragun to special summon Diamond Dragon
on to the field [Hyozanryu ~ Diamond
Dragon - 7/2100/2800]. Manjyome was in quite a pinch,
facing off against four powerful dragons. Chousaku wanted
to show his brother a bit of mercy, by ending the duel swiftly
in one turn, and had King Dragun attack the set monster.
However, it was the Unhappy Maiden, so multiple tiny monsters
appeared, ceasing the movement of his monsters. Manjyome
explained that the Unhappy Maiden's effect made it so that
once it was sent to the cemetery, his opponent's battle
phase immediately ends [The Unhappy
Maiden ~ Hatsukou No Bishoujyo - 1/0/100: If this card is
destroyed in battle and sent to the cemetery, the battle
phase ends immediately]. Chousaku wondered how much
longer Manyjome could struggle in vain, then ended his turn.
It became Manjyome's turn, and he drew a card, then summoned
Spirit of Breeze in defense mode [Spirit
of Breeze ~ Soyokaze O Seirei - 3/0/1800: During your Standby
Phase, if this monster is in face-up attack mode, you gain
1000 Life Points]. Following that move, he played
the continuous magic card the Dark Door, limiting each player
to one attack per turn [The Dark Door
~ Ankoku No Tobira - Permanent Magic: As long as this card
is face-up on the field, both players can only attack with
one monster per turn]. With that card, Manjyome stopped
the multiple attacks of his brother's dragons, protecting
him as long as he could play at least one monster per turn.
Chousaku thought that the problem could be solved by drawing
a card that can destroy that magic card.
Chousaku's turn began, so he quickly drew a card and declared
King Dragun's attack against the Spirit of Breeze. Because
of the Dark Door, he couldn't attack with any other monsters,
and ended his turn there. During Manyjome's turn, he played
Matabi Cat in defense mode, and ended at that [Catnipped Kitty - 2/0/500]. It became Chousaku's turn, and he
drew a card, then grinned, and declared that victory would
be his. He set one card, then had King Dragun destroy the
Matabi Cat, and ended his turn. The crowd seemed surprised
that Chousaku drew an effective card to win, and Kaiser
was certain that it was some sort of card to destroy the
Dark Door, which would then allow Chousaku enough attacks
to finish Manjyome off.
|
Painful Choice
Magic Card |
Manjyome's turn began, and Chousaku immediately activated
his trap card. To no one's surprise, it was Dust Tornado,
which destroyed the magic card The Dark Door [Dust
Tornado ~ Sujin No Outatsumaki - Trap: Destroy one magic
or trap card on your opponent's side of the field. You can
then set one magic or trap card from your hand to the field].
The Dark Door was destroyed, so all of Chousaku's dragons
could attack on the next turn. Everyone wondered if the
duel was over, and the brothers Cousaku and Shouji were
sure that it was the end, and the school would soon belong
to them. Manjyome's turn, however, had just begun, and he
played the magic card Painful Choice [Painful
Choice ~ Kujyuu No Sentaku - Magic: Chose five cards in
your deck and show them to your opponent. Your opponent
choses one of the cards to go to your hand, and the others
are sent to your graveyard]. By its effect, Manjyome
selected five cards, and allowed his brother to chose one
of them. The five cards were:
1. Sacrifice
(Monster)
2. Castle Gate (Monster)
3. Thunder Crush (Spell)
4. Mimicking Illusionist (Monster)
5. Royal Magic Libary (Monster) |
|
Enchanting Fitting Room
Magic Card |
Chousaku wasn't too concerned about which card, as he figured
he could end the game on his next turn, so he nonchalantly
chose Thunder Crush. Manjyome kept the Thunder Crush in
his hand, and sent the others to the grave, then told his
brother that he was sure that card would be chosen. Manjyome
then activated Enchanting Fitting Room. To play that card, he'd
have to pay 800 life points, thus reducing his life to 800
(1600-800). By the effect of the magic card, he took four
cards from his deck, and any level three or lower cards
could then be special summoned to the field [Enchanting Fitting Room ~ Ma No Shijyakuheya - Magic: Pay 800 life
points. Reveal the top 4 cards of your deck, and special
summon all level three or lower normal monsters there to
your field. Return all the other cards to your deck and
shuffle]. The four cards were Pot of Greed, Ojama
Yellow, Ojama Green, and Ojama Black, so the Pot of Greed
was returned to his deck, while the three Ojamas were special
summoned.
Of
course, Chousaku looked down upon those three monsters,
calling them "sako"
(small fry, weak monster) and intended to blow them away
with his monsters' light in the next turn. However, Manjyome
told his brother that he couldn't forgive anyone for calling
those cards "stupid."
The three Ojama brothers turned to him and seemed to appreciate
Manjyome's words, as if they became a wall to protect them.
Manjyome continued, saying that even though they have 0
attack points and their looks are the worst, (yeah, like
he doesn't look down upon them either) he still learned
something from them. The Ojama brothers thought it was the
unity of brotherhood that he learned, but Manjyome shocked
them by saying he learned how to feel good about being on
the bottom. In other words, he feels better about himself
by being around these pathetic monsters. ("In the kingdom
of the blind, the one-eyed man is king." Or maybe,
"you look thinner if you hang out with fat people.")
Chousaku told him to shut up, and that Manjyome was still
a drop-out to their family, and nothing could change that
fact. Manjyome replied by saying he would show them what
a drop out could do.
Manjyome showed the power of the Ojama brothers and activated
the magic card Ojama Delta Hurricane. It's a magic card
that allows the user to destroy all his opponent's monsters
if the three ojamas are on the field [Ojama
Delta Hurricane - Magic: You can activate this card if you
have Ojama Yellow, Ojama Green, and Ojama Black on your
side of the field. Destroy all of your opponent's cards
on the field]. That meant that Chousaku's dragon
army was destroyed by the Ojama Delta Hurricane. The Ojamas
seemed to be proud of themselves and impressed by their
master, but before they could finish talking, Manjyome played
another card, Thunder Crush, that his brother put in his
hand through Painful Choice. Ojama Yellow wondered what
the card was, and Ojama Green read the name "Thunder
Crush," while Ojama Black read the text: [Thunder
Crush - Magic: Destroy all your monsters on the field. Do
300 points of damage to your opponent's life points for
each monster destroyed that way]. The three Ojamas
turned to each other, wondering what monsters the card referred
to, until they realized it meant them, and they all panicked.
Manjyome said that the duty of those 0 attack point monsters
had been completed, rendering them useless.
|
Chaos Necromancer
Monster Card |
After sacrificing the three Ojama Brothers, Thunder Crush
dealt 900 points of direct damage to Chousaku (300 x 3),
decreasing his life points to 3100 (4000-900). Although
Chousaku became angry, he felt it didn't affect his advantage
at all, and that he could start over from the beginning.
However, Manjyome hadn't normal summoned a monster, and
he was waiting for that moment, when he had enough monsters
in his graveyard. He summoned Chaos Necromancer in attack
position [Chaos Necromancer - 1/0/0:
This card's attack strength is 300 times the number of monsters
in your graveyard]. It was the first monster that
duel he normal summoned in attack mode, and by its effect,
it had 300 attack points for each monster in Manjyome's
grave. There were 11 monsters, so the Necromancer's attack
became 3300 (11 x 300).
Note:
11 monsters in Manjyome's graveyard
1. Soul Tiger
2. The Unhappy Maiden
3. Spirit of Breeze
4. Catnipped Kitty
5. Sacrifice
6. Castle Gate
7. Mimicking Illusionist
8. Royal Magic Libary
9. Ojama Yellow
10. Ojama Black
11. Ojama Green |
Manjyome
declared a direct attack from Chaos Necromancer to Chousaku
at once. Chousaku took a direct hit, while Shouji yelled
at his older brother. From the attack, Chousaku's life points
became 0 (3100-3300), and he was finally defeated. Judai
and Sho, along with the rest of the Duel Academia, were
impressed by the great duel, and everyone began cheering
Manjyome's name. Manjyome corrected the crowd, telling them
to call him by his proper name. Everyone cheers, "1,
10, 100, 1000 Manjyome (man=100000 Thunder!"
Shouts of the name "Thunder"
echoed throughout the duel stadium, and Manjyome smirked.
At the same time, Shouji helped Chousaku down from the stage,
angry at Manjyome, and refusing to forgive him. However,
Chousaku stopped him, asking if Shouji saw what happened
to Manjyome. He said that the youngest brother grew up a
lot more than they expected.
Far
away, Kaiba received word of Manjyome's duel. Kaiba thought
the report was unnecessary, because he knew the duelist
would win. He firmly said that it is as it should be, and
that all students at his Duel Academia should be able to
win, no matter what the circumstances. That night at the
Osiris Red dorm, Manjyome was nowhere close to alone. His
room was full of the spirits of the weak monster cards he
got from the well, who were all moving around and playing
in his room. Manjyome became annoyed to an unbearable point,
and demanded to know how long the cards intended to stay
in his room. The Ojama Yellow reminded Manjyome about what
he said before, during the duel, about the cards with zero
attack points being useful. Manjyome replied that the duel
was an exception, and that he didn't intend to use those
cards seriously after that. However, none of the monsters
seemed to listen to him. Manjyome saw how cramped his room
became, and yelled at all the monsters to get out of his
room.
