At the magma crater on the island, the duel between the first 7 stars, Darkness (LP3000), and Judai (LP 700) is continued. Judai tells Sho and Hayato to hang on, and he is going to save them quickly. Darkness is wondering whether Judai can make it. Although Judai is in a serious duel, he still enjoys it as usual. He puts the magic card, Pot of Greed, he drew in the duel disk slot to draw additional two cards [Pot of Greed ~ Kou Yuku Na Tsubo - Magic: Draw two cards from your deck]. Then, he plays De-Fusion to separate E-Hero Rampart Gunner into E-Hero Burst Lady and E-Hero Clayman [De-Fusion ~ Yuukou Kaijyo - Instant Magic: Return 1 Fusion Monster Card on the Field to its' owner's Fusion Deck. If all the Fusion-Material Monsters for the returned Fusion Monster Card are in the Graveyard, they can be Special Summoned to the Field at this time]. When there is no monster to equip with, Attachment Dragon is returned to Darkness' graveyard. After that, Judai plays Fusion Sage to place Polymerization from his deck on to his hand [Fusion Sage ~ Yuukou Kenjya - Magic: Place 1 Polymerization Magic card from your deck into your hand]. He plays it to fuse E-Hero Sparkman and E-Hero Clayman on the field into E-Hero Thunder Giant [E-Hero Thunder Giant - 6/2400/1500: When this Monster is Summoned, destroy 1 Monster on your opponents Field face-up with attack strength base lower than attack strength of this Monster].

Asuka notices that the monsters of both sides, Red Eyes Black Dragon and E-Hero Thunder Giant, now have the same 2400 attack points. Anyway, Judai still declares the attack of E-Hero Thunder Giant against Red Eyes Black Dragon that responds by Dark Mega Flare. Their attacks are against each other strongly in the middle. Because they have equal attack points, two monsters fall down into the magma. Judai says that the attack of E-Hero Thunder Giant won't be useless. He continues the next strike of E-Hero Burst Lady, Burst Fire, against Darkness directly. Thus, Darkness' LP decreases to 1800 (3000-1200).

Judai notices Darkness standing firmly as if nothing happend, so he is impressed by such strong strength. Darkness explains that it is because the real thrill of life in the shadow duel. Anyway, Judai hasn't finished his turn yet. He activates the permanent magic card, Mirage of Nightmare, and explains the effect of it [Mirage of Nightmare ~ Akumu No Shinkirou - Permanent Magic : During your opponents Standby Phase, draw cards from your deck until your hand contains 4 cards. During your Standby Phase, discard cards from your hand equal to the number of cards you drew]. During Darkness' standby phase, Judai can draw cards until he has four cards on hand while he has to discard his cards randomly into the graveyard in his standby phase. Darkness doesn't care what he said, just telling him to do what he wants. Setting up a face-down card, Judai ends his turn.

Mirage Dragon Monster Card

It is now Darkness' turn. When the turn enters Darkness' standby phase, Judai activates the ability of Mirage of Nightmare to draw four cards (He has no card left on hand, so he has to draw 4 cards to fulfil the condition). Darkness claims that Judai still has to discards those cards in his next standby phase. Before that time arrives, Judai plans to play his favorite combo. He opens his face-down magic card, Emergency Provisions, sending Mirage of Nightmare into his graveyard to gain 1000 LP [Emergency Provision ~ Hijyoo Shoku - Magic: Send Magic or Trap Cards on your side of the field to the Graveyard to increase your Life Points by 1000 points per card. This card is excluded]. Thus, his LP goes up to 1700 (700+1000). Then, Darkness keeps on his turn. He summons Mirage Dragon in an attack position and lets it attack E-Hero Burst Lady [Mirage Dragon - 4/1600/600: As long as this card remains face-up on your Field, your opponent can't activate Trap cards during the Battle Phase]. Therefore, Judai's LP decreases to 1300 (1700+1200-1600). Getting another hit, he gets hurt and falls on his knees. Judai tries to keep himself up and doesn't give up.

Seeing Judai trying so hard, Sho intends not to give up no matter how hot he feels now. Hayato and Asuka start cheering Judai. Hayato tells him that he will do his best too. Turn currently moves to Judai. He draws a card and summons E-Hero Bubbleman in an attack position [E-Hero Bubbleman - 4/800/1200: If this card is the only card in your hand, you can Special Summon it in attack mode. When this card is successfully Normal Summoned, Special Summoned, or Reverse Summoned when it is the only card on your Field, draw 2 cards from your deck]. According to its effect, Judai can draw additional two cards when there is no other card on the field. After that, he plays the magic card, Silent Dead, to resummon E-Hero Sparkman onto the field in a defense mode. [Silent Dead ~ Muku Suru Shisha - Instant Magic: Special Summon 1 Normal Monster from your Graveyard to the Field in face-up Defense Mode. As long as the Special Summoned card remains face-up on the Field, it can't attack].

Moreover, Judai activates the field magic card, Fusion Gate, that allow him to fuse monsters without Polymerization [Fusion Gate - Field Magic: While this card is on the Field, the Polymerization card is not needed to fuse monsters. Monsters being fused in this way are not put into the Cemetery, but removed from the game instead]. As a result, he fuses E-Hero Bubbleman and E-Hero Sparkman on the field with E-Hero Featherman on his hand into E-Hero Tempester [E-Hero Tempester - 8/2800/2800: Send 1 card on your field into the Cemetery in battle in order to activate this effect. Sho and Hayato are glad to see such a great monster with 2800 attack points. That means it has higher attack points than Mirage Dragon now. Judai declares the attack of E-Hero Tempester, Chaos Tempester, against Mirage Dragon directly. Thus, Darkness' LP goes down to 600 (1800+1600-2800). Darkness tells him that the progress has no meaning in the shadow duel. What matters is about who is going to stand last long until the end. Judai partially agrees with him. He intends to stand fighting until the end of the game. He sets up a face-down card and ends his turn.

Red Eyes Darkness Dragon Monster Card

Now, it is Darkness' turn. He draws a card and points it to Judai. Judai is wondering what he is planning to do. Darkness says that he can hear it - the voice of the dragon spirits in his graveyard that supports him. Judai is wondering by Darkness' scary words. Then, the dragon howl is all over the battlefield and the island. The magma flare appears in form of dragons. Darkness has planned to summon his most powerful dragon. At this moment, he summons Red-Eyes B. Chick in an attack position [Red-Eyes B. Chick ~ Kokuryuu No Hina - 1/800/500: You can put this face-up card from your Field into the Cemetery to Special Summon 1 Red Eyes Black Dragon from your hand]. Darkness explains this is the brood of Red Eyes Black Dragon. Due to its special effect, he can send it to the graveyard to summon specially another Red Eyes Black Dragon from his hand. Sacrificing Red Eyes Black Dragon, Darkness can summon Red Eyes Darkness Dragon specially onto his field. Red Eyes Black Dragon then moves back into the magma while huge flare starts emerging from it [Red Eyes Darkness Dragon - 9/2400/2000: This can't be normal summoned or set. This card can't be special summoned except by tributing Red Eyes Black Dragon on your side of the field. Increase the attack of this card by 300 points for each dragon type monster in your graveyard]. The dragon fire forms together to become the greatest dragon, Red Eyes Darkness Dragon. According to its effect, its attack points increase by 300 points for each dragon-type monster in the graveyard. There are seven dragons in Darkness' cemetery, so its attack points become 4500 (2400+7*300).

Darkness would like Judai to know dreadfulness of darkness. He then declares the attack of Red Eyes Darkness Dragon, Darkness Giga Flame, against E-Hero Tempester at once. People are worried about this attack. If this strike is successful, Judai will be defeated immediately (His LP will become 0: 1300+2800-4500).

Red Eyes Black Dragon makes the great strike, Darkness Giga Flame, against E-Hero Tempester. At this moment, Judai opens his face-down trap card, Negate Attack, to negate the attack and end the battle phase at once [Negate Attack ~ Kougeki No Muryoku Ka - Counter Trap: Activate when your opponent attacks, negate that attack and end your opponents Battle Phase]. Thus, Darkness is forced to end his turn.

While the duel is running on at night, other people holding keys have no idea about Judai and his fight. Ryou is standing at the pier. He can feel something from his key, so holding it and turning himself to the volcano where Judai is dueling. Meanwhile, Misawa, staying in his room, notices his key shaking as if it tries to tell him something as well. On the other side, the spirit of Ojama Yellow appears and talks to Manjyome who is gonna sleep in his bed. However, Manjyome gets annoyed and tells it to stop dancing (He can't sleep). Anyway, Ojama Yellow tells him that it is just trembling. Manjyome gets up and feels shaking sound. He has just realized that his key is actually shaking, holding it up. At Professor Chronos' room, he is in a deeply well sleep without knowing anything. Near the volcano, Daitokuji teacher is standing and watching it. He can also feel something from his key. Lastly, Samejima principle is getting worried alone in his office at Duel Academia. He is uncertain whether he did something that he can't get back. He brings those young people into this fearful fight and feels scared of their defeat. Anyway, he has no choice but counts on them to protect the keys of the seven start gate.

At the crater, it is now Judai's turn. Judai draws a card and summons Friendog in a defense position [Friendog - 3/800/1200: If this Monster is sent to the Cemetery, you can return 1 Polymerization and 1 Monster with Elemental Hero in its name into your hand]. Changing E-Hero Tempester into a defense position, Judai ends his turn. Darkness is wondering whether Judai is playing for the defense time. However, he doesn't think that the shadow duel will give him that much time. He points Judai to see his friends' condition carefully. Sho tells Judai not to listen to Darkness' words. Hayato also supports him and says that Judai should duel following his normal way. He doesn't want Judai to be concerned about them. Judai tells his friends not to be worried because he will win finally. He no longer cares of what Darkness is saying, telling him to draw a card quickly.

Spear Dragon Monster Card

Turn is now with Darkness. Drawing a card, Darkness summons Spear Dragon in an attack position [Spear Dragon - 4/1900/0: When this Monster attacks a Monster in defense mode with lower defense strength than this card's attack strength, do Battle Damage to your opponent equal to the difference. If this card attacks, change it to defense mode after the Damage Step]. He then declares the attack of Spear Dragon, Spear Crush, against Friendog. When Friendog is destroyed, Judai once activates its special effect. He can get back Polymerization and another E-Hero type monster from his graveyard onto his hand. Suddenly, Judai falls down on his knees with pain while his LP decreases to 600. He doesn't understand what is going on. Darkness explains that Judai gets the direct damage from the special effect of Spear Dragon. When it (ATK 1900) can destroy defending Friendog with lower defense points (DEF 1200), the difference is dealed directly to Judai. In other words, Judai gets the direct hit, so his LP reduces to 600 (1300-1900-1200). Anyway, Spear Dragon has to change into a defense position.

Darkness considers that E-Hero Tempester obtains such an annoying effect. Judai can send another card on the field into his graveyard to protect it from the battle damage once. The remaining card on Judai field is Fusion Gate, so Darkness plans to destroy it before Judai is going to use it for E-Hero Tempester's ability. He plays the magic card, Mystical Space Typhoon, to destroy Fusion Gate [Mystical Space Typhoon ~ Cyclone - Instant Magic: Destroy 1 Magic or Trap Card on the Field]. After that, he lets Red Eyes Darkness Dragon attack again by Darkness Giga Flame against E-Hero Tempester. Without any card to discard to activate the effect of E-Hero Tempester, Judai finally loses it. Although he doesn't lose any LP, Judai gets some injury by the shadow duel and eventually falls down. People are worried about Judai as Sho and Hayato's hope is seemingly going away. The light ball falls deeper into the magma. Asuka feels very concerned by her friends and can't stand watching. She asks Darkness to stop this duel. Darkness asks who she is. Asuka introduces herself by her fullname, Tenjoin Asuka, and shows up her key. She is going to give the key to Darkness for saving Judai, Sho, and Hayato. In exchange, she is willing to be sealed in the card.

Wild Half Magic Card

Meanwhile, Judai tries to get up and holds on Asuka's decision. He doesn't want her to take this duel away from him because he still has some cards left to continue the game. It is now Judai's turn. Judai draws a card quickly. At the same time , Sho calls out his name loudly because the magma flare is more moving around and covering themselves. Judai realizes that he has no much time left, or this may be the final turn. He then summons E-Hero Wildman in an attack position (Judai gets back E-Hero Wildman from his cemetery by the effect of Friendog). After that, he plays the magic card, Wild Half, that can be played only if E-Hero Wildman remains face-up on the field [Wild Half - Magic: You can only activate this card when you have a E-HERO Wildman face-up on your Field. Half the original attack strength of 1 face-up Monster on your opponent's Field, then Special Summon 1 Token with the same Main-Type, Sub-Type, Level, and current attack and defense strengths as the Monster on the Field]. According to its effect, Judai can halve the original points of Red Eyes Darkness Dragon and create its token. That means Red Eyes Darkness Dragon's attack points become 1200 (2400/2), and another Red Eyes Darkness Dragon token (ATK 1200) is summoned specially.

E-Hero Wild Jaggyman Monster Card

However, Asuka sees that each Red Eyes Darkness Dragon token contains higher attack points from its special effect; gaining 300 attack points per dragon-type monster in the graveyard. In total, the attack points of each token become 3300 (1200+300/7) because the seven dragons in Darkness' cemetery. Judai then plays Polymerization (Again, Judai gets back Polymerization form his cemetery by the effect of Friendog) to fuse E-Hero Wildman on his field and E-Hero Edgeman on this hand to E-Hero Wild Jaggyman [E-Hero Wild Jaggyan - 8/2600/2300: This Monster can attack all Monsters on the opponent's Field]. Due to its effect, it can attack all monsters on the Darkness' field in a battle phase. Anyway, Darkness points out that its attack points are still less than Red Eyes Darkness Dragon. Judai asks whether Darkness is really sure. Actually, he has to choose the best place for his E-Hero monsters. Judai then plays his field magic card, Skycrapper, to increase his attacking monster by 1000 points [Skycrapper - Field Magic: Increase the attack strength of all Monsters on the Field with Hero in their name by 1000 points when Battling a Monster with higher attack strength]. As a result, the attack points of E-Hero Wild Jaggyman becomes 3600 (2600+1000). Judai lets it attack two Red Eyes Darkness Dragon tokens at the same time and finally destroy Spear Dragon. Therefore, Darkness's LP reduces to 0 (600+3300+3300-3600-3600), and Judai eventually wins the game.

The flare surrounds Darkness' body while Judai falls down because of a lot of damage. He is worried about Sho and Hayato as Asuka is running to him. Both of them are moved out off the crater by the magma flare. When Hayato and Sho gains consciousness, they find themselves outside the crater. They looks for Judai and sees Asuka first. Asuka is glad to see that everybody is safe. Then, they see Judai still losing his consciousness. Sho tries to wake him up. Asuka checks his life condition and finds nothing wrong although he looks terrible. She sees a card dropped on the ground, so she takes it up. It appears the image of a mask, shoing that Darkness' soul is sealed. Asuka moves onto the Darkness' body laying nearby. Walking closer, Asuka is getting shocked by seeing a person whom she is very familiar with. Darkness also calls her name back. Meanwhile, Misawa, Ryou, and Manjyome are running after them. Manjyome is wondering whether Judai is safe. Sho informs that his Big Brother doesn't die easily. Hayato adds that Judai already dueled in the shadow game and did such a great job on his victory. While people are approaching Judai, Ryou steps apart and goes to see Asuka. Asuka tells him that another soul entered and took control this body. Now, the original soul returns. Ryou has no idea what she is talking about. Asuka replies that she doesn't understand the situation either since Darkness is actually her brother, Tenjoin Fubuki. People are all amazed by this fact while Asuka is crying and holding her brother in her arms. Then, the sun rises by the end of the shadow duel as many mysteries still remain.
