At the library of the school, Kunisaki is working alone
hacking into the school computer system. Trying for many
times, he successfully gets the right password and goes
into the school database system. There, he sees some information
about god cards and student lists. One of the students,
Tenjoin Fubiki, caughts his attention. Kunisaki reads the
background of this student and finds that Fubiki is an student
in the US duel research program. He further finds
too many students in this program, so Kunisaki assumes
that these students may have some connection with the disappearing
students. Of course, he is planning to reveal the truth.
While Kunisaki is uploading the information, another screen
is displaying Judai's duel against Misawa.
The duel between Judai and Misawa is continued. Misawa (1600 LP)
has Water Dragon with 2800 attack points on the field while
Judai (2800 LP) has E-Hero Featherman with 1000 defense points and E-Hero
Sparkman with 1600 attack points on the field. People are getting worried by
Judai; although he has some LP left, his situation seemingly doesn't look good. On the other side, Ryo is admiring Misawa,
the real top of Ra Yellow, playing such a smart combo. Since Judai's play is mostly based on the special summon of fusion E-Hero monsters, Misawa decides to seal this combo to lead the game. Meanwhile, Professor Chronos looks very happy as Principle
Sameshima and Daitokuji teacher are wondering what Judai
is gonna do next. Turn is still with Judai. He changes E-Hero Sparkman
into a defense position, ending his turn.
|
Mathematician
Monster Card |
Misawa asks how Judai feels about his 7th deck that he prepared specially for opposing Judai's E-Hero deck. Anyway, Judai doesn't
look very worried as usual. He is getting excited and thinking about how to beat this deck. Misawa sees that this is what Judai usually is. He is also certain that Judai's possibility to win is relatively closing to zero. Misawa declares to prove his words, starting his turn. He draws a card and gets a monster card, Mathematician [Mathematician - 3/1500: When
this card is Summoned, place 1 card from the top of your deck
into your Cemetery. When this Monster is destroyed as a result
of battle, draw 1 card]. He summons it in an attack position. By its special effect, when summoned, Misawa has to discard a card from his deck into his graveyard. In addition, if this monster is destroyed a result of the battle, he can get a card from his deck onto his hand. After that, Misawa declares the attack of Water Dragon, Aqua Punisher, against defending E-Hero Sparkman. Next, he declares the attack of Mathematician, Battle Curriculum, against E-Hero Featherman.
Sho is getting more worried. Even though Judai doesn't lose any LP, his monsters are all wiped out. Meanwhile, Professor Chronos looks very glad by Misawa's play, admiring his nominated student. Then, Daitokuji teacher reminds him that Misawa is actually a Ra Yellow student. Principle Sameshima is delightful that other students not from Obelisk Blue can show up very well in this duel. Certainly, Professor Chronos is feeling annoyed since he would like Misawa to become an Obelisk Blue student. After Judai's coming, any traditional order becomes meaningless. At the same time, Kunisaki is walking out off the library and thinking about what he's found. If he announces this finding to the public, he will get a lot of fame and fortune. Also, he doesn't care whether this school will be destroyed by this story. Then, he thinks of the previous day with Judai when he first saw how kind and nice Judai was. Kunisaki is getting confused and trying to leave Judai from his head. Walking pass the entrance of the duel stadium, he decides to get in and take a look. He has realized that this is the school representative judgement match.
Misawa ends his turn, claiming that his calculation has never been wrong. Judai tells him that the calculation doesn't matter. The most important thing is in the strong heart that makes him not give up and continue fighting. Sho and Hayato are glad to see that Judai hasn't given up yet. Even Kunisaki smiles when he heard Judai's words. Turn now moves to Judai. He draws a card and gets Mirage of Nightmare. Then, he decides to summon E-Hero Bubbleman in an attack position [E-Hero Bubbleman - 4/800/1200: If this card is the only card in your hand, you can Special
Summon it in attack mode. When this card is successfully Normal
Summoned, Special Summoned, or Reverse Summoned when it is
the only card on your Field, draw 2 cards from your deck]. According to its special effect, if this card is summoned while there is no other card on the field, Judai can draw additional two cards. Drawing them, Judai plays the equipment magic card Bubble Shot with E-Hero Bubbleman [Bubble Shot - Equipment Magic: This
card can only be equipped to a Elemental
Hero Bubbleman on the Field. Increase the Equipped Monster's
attack strength by 800. Destroy this card in order to prevent
the equipped Monster from being destroyed, and taking any damage.]. By its ability, E-Hero Bubbleman's attack points increase by 800 points. Thus, its total attack points become 1600. Judai clares its attack against Mathematician (1500). When it is destroyed, Misawa's LP goes down to 1500 (1600+1500-1600). According to the effect of Mathematician, Misawa can draw additional two cards after it is destroyed as a result of the battle.
Turn is still with Judai. He next sets up two face-down cares, playing the permanent magic card Mirage of Nightmare and ends his turn [Mirage of Nightmare ~ Akuma No Shinkirou - Permanent Magic: During your opponents Standby Phase, draw cards from your deck until your hand contains 4 cards. During your Standby Phase, discard cards from your hand equal to the number of cards you drew]. He claims that Misawa is totally misunderstanding if he thinks that his deck is merely based on fusion. Actually, the great strength of his E-Hero deck comes from the good combination among monster, tras, and magic cards.
|
Diamond Dragon
Monster Card |
Turn now comes to Misawa. Once he draws a card, Judai activates the ability of Mirage of Nightmare. When he enters into the opponent's standby phase, he has to draw cards until he has 4 cards on his hand. Then, he opens the face-down card Emergency Provisions [Emergency Provisions ~ Hijyoo Shoku - Magic: Send
Magic or Trap Cards on your side of the field to the Graveyard
to increase your Life Points by 1000 points per card. This card
is excluded]. Due to its effect, Judai can gain 1000 LP per magic card sent into the cemetery. A a result, sending Mirage of Nightmare into his graveyard, his LP becomes 3800 (2800+1000). Meanwhile, Kunisaki is very impressed by Judai's smart play. However, he tries not to waste more time here and leaves the place. Having hesitated, he decides to turn back and watch the duel. On the other side, Ryo and Asuka notice that sealing the total power of Judai isn't actually easy. Even Misawa agrees to that. Anyway, he next plays Pot of Greed to draw additional two cards [Pot of Greed ~ Kou
Yuku Na Tsubo - Magic: Draw 2 cards from your deck]. Then, he activates the special effect of Carbonedon in his graveyard. This ability can be activated only if there are ten cards on top of it in the cemetery. Next, removing Carbonedon from the game, Misawa can summon specially Diamond Dragon in an attack position [Diamond Dragon 8/2100/2800].
Note: Carbonedon of Misawa is the first card destroyed by E-Hero Burst Lady at the beginning of the game or in the first turn of Judai. These are the lists of 10 cards on the top of it in the graveyard:
1. Oxygedon
2-3. Hydrogedon (Two cards)
4. Living Fossil
5. Bonding H2O
6. Water Dragon
7. Cursed Seal of Forbidden Spell
8. Double Magic (Misawa discards it into the cemetery to activate the ability of Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell)
9. Mathematician
10. Pot of Greed |
Misawa declares the attack of Diamond Dragon, Diamond Burst, against E-Hero Bubbleman. Anyway, the equipment magic card, Bubble Shot, is destroyed to negate the monster destruction and damage. In other words, Judai's LP and E-Hero Bubbleman are safe while only Bubble Shot is destroyed. After that, Misawa lets Water Dragon attack E-Hero Bubbleman by Aqua Punisher.

summary - second period
episode 22 translated by Janime |
Water Dragon strongly attacks E-Hero Bubbleman, so Judai's LP goes down to 1800 (3800+800-2800). At this moment, Judai opens his last face-down trap card, Hero Signal [Hero Signal - trap: You
can only activate this card if a Monster of yours is destroyed
as a result of Battle and sent to the Cemetery. Special Summon
1 Monster with Hero in its name from your deck]. This card can be activated only if there is a monster destroyed as a result of the battle. It allows Judai to summon specially an E-Hero monster from his deck. Thus, Judai summons E-Hero Clayman onto his field in an attack position [E-Hero Clayman - 4/800/2000]. Judai feels that he is, at least, safe now. Misawa is going to attack him again in the next turn as Judai doesn't think to be defeated at all. Setting a face-down card, Misawa ends his turn.
While Judai is going to move his turn, he sees Sho looking very worried. Therefore, he assures him that he won't be defeated anyway. Then Judai draws a card and plays a magic card The Warrior Returnign Alive to return a warrior monster from his graveyard onto his hand [The Warrior Returning Alive ~ Senshi No Seikan: Place
1 Warrior Monster from your Cemetery into your hand]. Thus, he takes E-Hero Bubbleman back and summons it in an attack mode. Next, he equips Bubble Shuffle with it [Bubble Shuffle - Equipment Magic: Change
the mode of a face-up Elemental Hero - Bubbleman on your Field and a Monster face-up on your opponents Field. Sacrifice that Elemental Hero - Bubbleman and Special Summon 1 Monster with Elemental Hero in its name from your hand]. According to its effect, E-Hero Bubbleman and Water Dragon are changed into a defense position with 2600 and 1200 defense points respectively. Furthermore, sacrificing E-Hero Bubbleman, Judai can summon an E-Hero monster specially from his hand. Thus, he decides to summon E-Hero Edgeman onto the field in an attack mode [E-Hero Edgeman - 7/2600/1600: If this Monster attacks a Monster in defense mode with lower
defense strength than this Monsters attack strength, do Battle
Damage to your opponent equal to the difference].
Ryo is impressed by that Judai can summon the great monster without any fusion. Anyway, Sho notices that the 2600 attack points of E-Hero Edgeman aren't sufficient to beat the same 2600 defense points of Water Dragon. However, Hayato sees that Judai is going to play something more. Of course, Judai plays the field magic card Skycraper [Skycraper - Field Magic: Increase
the attack strength of all Monsters on the Field with Hero
in their name by 1000 points when Battling a Monster with higher
attack strength]. Due to its effect, the attack points of an E-Hero monster can increase by 1000 points if it is going to attack the monster with higher attack points. Water Dragon's attack points are 2800 as E-Hero Edgeman's attack points are 2600, so E-Hero Edgeman's attack points in total increase to 3600 (2600+1000). Meanwhile, Kunisaki is getting confused by Skycraper creating the city field that reminds him of his painful experience. Judai lets E-Hero Edgeman with 3600 attack points destroy Water Dragon wtih 2600 defense points and then activates its special ability. When E-Hero Edgeman destroys a monster with lower defense points than its attack points, the battle damage equal to the differences is dealed directly to the player. In other words, Misawa has to receive the direct damage of 1000 (3600-2600), so his LP goes down to 500 (1500-1000).
At this point, Misawa activates the special ability of Water Dragon. When it is destroyed, two Hydrogedon and one Oxygedon can be resummoned onto the field in defense positions from the cemetery. Furthermore, he opens his face-down trap card, Last Magnet [Last Magnet - Trap: You
can only activate this card when a Monster is destroyed. This
becomes an Equipment card to 1 Monster on the Field, reducing its attack strength by 800]. This card can be activated only if a monster is destroyed. It becomes an equipment card with a monster on the field to reduce its attack points by 800. Certainly, this card is attached with E-Hero Edgeman, so its attack points go down to 1800 (2600-800: E-Hero Edgeman's attack points return to the 2600 original points after attacking. Its attack points increase by 1000 points following the effect of Skycraper only if it attacks a monster with higher attack points). Anyway, Judai lets E-Hero Clayman attack Oxygedon (1800/800) with higher attack points. Thus, it gains 1000 attack points from Skycraper, and its total attack points become 1800 (800+1000). All audiences are very amazed by such a great and exciting duel. Both sides battle by their full power and great combo. Apparently, Judai and Misawa accept strength and give respect to each other. Meanwhile, Kunisaki is getting more shocked , reminding himself of his past. During that time, he also used Skycraper and seemingly held his deck tightly in his hand.

Swordsman of Death Lithmus
Monster Card |
It is now Misawa's turn. He plays the ritual
magic card, Death Ritual of Lithmus, from his hand [Death
Ritual of Lithmus ~ Death Lithmus No Shirishiki - Ritual
Magic: Used to summon Swordsman Of Death Lithmus from your
hand by sacrificing Monsters on your Field/hand whose combined
levels equal 8 or more]. Sacrifiging two monsters,
Hydrogedons, on the field or on hand with combined level
up to 8 or more, Misawa can summon specially Swordmans of
Death Lithmus onto the field [Swordsman
of Death Lithmus ~ Lithmus Shi No Kenshi - 8/0/0: This Monster
is Summoned by Death Ritual Of Lithmus
by sacrificing Monsters from your field/hand equal or greater
than 8. This Monster cannot be destroyed as a result of
battle or affected by Trap cards. If a Trap card is face-up
on the Field, this Monster's attack and defense strength
become 3000]. Due to its special effect, this monster
can't be impacted by any trap card. Moreover, its attack
points can increase to 3000 points if there is a face-up
trap card on the field. Currently, Misawa's trap card, Last
Magnet, is equipped with E-Hero Edgeman, so Swordsman of
Lithmus' attack points become 3000. Then, he declares the
attack of Swordsman of Lithmus against E-Hero Edgeman. At
this point, Judai's LP reduces to 1600 (1800+2800-3000).
After that, Misawa lets Diamond Dragon attack E-Hero Clayman,
so Judai's LP further goes to 1300 (1600+1800-2100).
Note: Why are E-Hero Edgeman's and E-Hero Clayman's attack points are 2800 and 1800 respectively at this moment?
Its original attack's points are 2600. When it is attached with Last Magnet of Misawa, its attack points go down to 1800 (2600-800). Due to the effect of the field magic, Skycraper, its attack points go up by 1000 points whenever it is battling against a monster with higher attack points. As a result, facing against Swordsman of Death Lithmus (3000), E-Hero Edgeman's attack points go up to 2800 (1800+1000).
Similarly, E-Hero Clayman's attack points increase by 1000 while facing against Diamond Dragon (2100). Thus, its total attack points become 1800 (800+1000).

The Wingbeat
of Giant Dragon
Magic Card |
Misawa hasn't finished his move yet. He plays the magic
card, The Wingbeat of Giant Dragon [The
Wingbeat of Giant Dragon ~ Kyoryuu No Habataki - Magic:
Return 1 face-up Level 5 or higher Dragon - Type Monster
on your side of the Field to the owner's hand and destroy
all Magic and Trap Cards on the Field]. This card
allows him to return a dragon monster with level 5 or higher
on the field to his hand. As a result, Misawa takes back
Diamond Dragon onto his hand. However, all magic and trap
cards on the field are totally destroyed. In other words,
the field magic card, Skycraper, is deactivated, and the
duel field returns to be normal. Setting a face-down card,
Misawa ends his turn. Sho is getting worried by the situation
again since Judai's monster and magic cards are all gone.
Meanwhile, Kunisaki thinks that Judai had better give up
this time. He reminds himself of the similar experience
that he was defeated by Kaiba a long time ago when he also
played Skycraper. Other people are all waiting for the final
move. Anyway, Judai smiles and tells Misawa that he gets
excited by this duel at most. Judai doesn't seem worried
and enjoys the duel as usual. Misawa challenges Judai to
come in by all of his power to face against his well-prepared
7th deck.
|
E-Hero Wildman
Monster Card |
Final Turn comes to Judai. He draws a card and gets E-Hero Wildman [E-Hero Wildman - 4/1500: This Monster cannot be effected by Trap cards]. He summons this new E-Hero monster onto the field in an attack position. Misawa sees Judai still playing E-Hero monster, activating his face-down trap card, Spirit Barrier [Spirit Barrier - Permanent Trap: If
you have a Monster on your Field, any Battle Damage done to
you is reduced to 0]. As long as there is a monster on the field, any damage point becomes 0. That means Judai can deal any damage to Misawa. Nevertheless, Judai claims that E-Hero Wildman can't be effected by any trap card. In fact, Misawa has expected this before. He has another purpose to increase the attack points of Swordsman of Death Lithmus upto 3000 points when this trap card is faced up. Sho sees that the situation hasn't changed; Judai can't beat the great monster with 3000 attack points anyway. Then, Judai plays the equipment magic card, Cyclone Boomerang, and equips it with E-Hero Wildman [Cyclone Boomerang - Equipment Magic: This
card can only be Equipped to a E-HERO Wildman. Increase the Equipped E-HERO Wildman Monsters attack strength by 500. When this card and the Equipped Monster go to the Cemetery, destroy all Magic and Traps on the Field, and do 500 damage to the opponent for each card sent to the Cemetery this way]. This card can increase the attack points of E-Hero Wildman, so its total attack points become 2000 (1500+500). Sho notices that there is still at least 1000 required attack points. Anyway, Hayato and Misawa have just acknowledged what Judai is exactly aiming to. Judai then declares the attack of E-Hero Wildman (2000) against Swordmans of Lithmus (3000). Of course, the attack returns to Judai, and his E-Hero wildman is destroyed. Thus, Judai's LP reduces to 300 (1300+2000-3000). At this point, Judai activates the special ability of Cyclone Boomerang; when this card is sent into the cemetery with the equipped monster, all magic and trap cards are destroyed. Furthermore, 500 damage points per card sent into the cemetery deal directly to the opponent. Therefore, the trap card, Spirit Barrier, of Misawa is broken and sent into the graveyard, and he has to receive the 500 damage points. Misawa's LP decreases to 0 (500-500), and he is finally defeated.
Ryo sees that Judai is the guy who can't be apparently calculated. Asuka also sees that Judai has concealed some power. She then hears the voice of Kunisaki who is cheering to Judai's victory. Having realized that he is overacting, Kunisaki accepts that he is, in fact, a loser. While Kunisaki is leaving the duel stadium, Asuka is going after him. Meanwhile, Professor Chronos is getting shocked by this unexpected situation. Professor Sameshima stands up and declares officially that Yuki Judai is the winner and the school representative. Everybody congratulates him and his great victory. Misawa accepts this defeat. He will do more reseach to create the 8th deck to beat him next time. Judai is certainly looking forward to having fun with it. Misawa tells him his favorite words that this is such a nice duel, handing over and shaking hand with Judai.
On the other side, Asuka reaches Kunisaka and asks him directly who he is. Kunisaki tells her that he has just remembered. Previously, he travelled around the world and aimed to become the top duelist. However, when he was once defeated, he threw away his dream. After that, he had become a dirty journalist, selling stories for money without any concern of feedbacks. However, when he saw the duel of Misawa and Judai, he gained the fighting spirit back to start dueling again. He decided not to run away from and give up his dream again. Taking the data he got up, he intends not to do this anymore. He won't tell anybody about this finding, but he will continue investigating the truth. If he finds something new, he will let her know. Then, Kunisaki is leaving. Meanwhile, people are enjoying Judai's victory in the duel stadium while Professor Chronos is getting upset. Judai intends to do his best as a school representative.
