episode 163 summarized by Janime

On a very small island in the ocean, the helicopter that Principal Samejima takes falls down. The pilot is contacting someone at Duel Academia who is asking for their response and checking whether they are fine and what's happening. The pilot is moving weakly, responding that the plane was attacked suddenly and they are now on an island. As he is telling the condition of Principal Samejima, there is scream from him from outside.

Principal Samejima appears to duel against a mysterious guy. His Cyber Ogre is attacked and destroyed, and his LP returns from 400 to 0. Principal Samejima is defeated and collapses on his knees. The mysterious guy says that it isn't a big deal, calling Principal Samejima as the former master of Cyber Style. Principal Samejima is surprised suddenly and realizes that his guy may have known Cyber Style from the beginning. He asks who this guy actually is.

The guy introduces himself [Inotsume Makoto] who holds a licensed Psycho Style. Principal Samejima understands shortly that Psycho Style is another duel school similar to Cyber Style dojo. Inotsume explains that this is supposed to be a fight bet by the rock signboards of Psycho Style and Cyber Style duel schools. However, he thinks that to beat the former master like Principal Samejima isn't sufficient. In order to obtain the true victory, he has to beat the real successor, Marufuji Ryo or Hell Kaiser.

Note: "dojo" is a common Japanese term for a martial art school. When a martial art dojo challenges another dojo and wins, it's traditional that the signboard of the beaten dojo must be broken. It's a sign that the winning dojo has already dominated the beaten dojo, so the beaten dojo shouldn't exist or announce its name anymore.

Principal Samejima looks pretty shocked that Ryo becomes Inotsume's target. Inotsume realizes that Ryo's whereabouts are still unclear, but he is certain that Ryo is still alive. He raises his hand up and declares that his next opponent will be the true successor, Hell Kaiser Ryo. Principal Samejima then collapses and passes out while Inotsume is laughing loudly.

Principal Samejima Cyber Ogre~
Inotsume It isn't a big deal, Duel Academia's Principal...No...I should say Mr. Samejima, the ex-master of Cyber Style.
Principal Samejima You...on the top of that...have known Cyber Style from the beginning. Who are you?
Inotsume I am a licensed Psycho-Style holder, Inotsume Makoto.
Principal Samejima Psycho Style, the duel school runs at the same time as Cyber Style?
Inotsume That's right. This battle is the fight that bets by the rock signboards of Cyber Style and Psycho Style. But after all, the ex-master is an insufficient part. My target is that guy. I see. If I don't defeat him, I won't get the true victory.
Principal Samejima Probably, you...
Inotsume Ha Ha Ha Ha! Although his whereabouts are still unclear, he is still alive, isn't he? Marufuji Ryo!
Principal Samejima Probably, you...
Inotsume Next is the true successor of Cyber Style. Hell Kaiser Ryo will become an opponent.

It's a sunny day. On a part of Duel Academia island is a dome building with an observation deck. It seems to be a treatment or hospital center on the island. There appears Marufuji Ryo sitting on a wheelchair and looking through the glass windows into the sea. Ryo is smiling as reminding himself of what happened in the past. He is thinking about his final duel against Johan possessed by Yubel (episode 148).

In that duel, Ryo played Cybernetic Zone to summon Cyber End Dragon with doubled attack points into his end phase. Cyber End Dragon had such an extreme strength of 16000. Johan, Judai, and Sho were pretty amazed by powerful Cyber End Dragon. Anyway, it finally disappeared as Ryo collapsed onto the ground. He lost because of the side effect of Power Bond that inflicted significant damage to him at the end phase (Refer to all duel details in episode 148).

Behind Ryo are Teacher Ayukawa and Sho. Teacher Ayukawa is glad to see that Ryo finally returned to Duel Academia safely. He was found unconscious on a shore in a day. He just has to work out to recover. The doctor also reports that there is no problem with his heart but he must limit and not put any burden on it. Sho bows to Teacher Ayukawa as a thank for her help before going to the wheelchair. Once he holds the wheelchair, Ryo understands fast that Sho is behind him. Sho asks how his dear brother is feeling. Ryo replies that he feels very good now, making Sho so relieved.

Sho is taking Ryo on the wheelchair along the shore. He reports his dear brother about what's going with Duel Academia. Before graduation, many people seem to think about and plan for their future paths. Sho starts with Asuka's decision to go to study aboard at a duel college in North America (She has already made a decision in episode 162 and the offer comes in episode 161). Ryo doesn't comment but smiles.

Sho thinks that time has passed very quickly, considering the time after Ryo's graduation (Everybody is going to graduate after Ryo soon). He remembers the graduation duel between his dear brother and Judai very well. Ryo is looking forward while thinking about that duel (episode 52). At that time, Kaiser activated Limiter Removal to boost up the attack points of Cyber End Dragon to 16000. When he declared its attack, Judai quickly activated Quick-Play-Spell Battle Fusion to increase the attack points his E-Hero Shining Flare Wingman by 16000 attack points Cyber End Dragon.

Kaiser smiled since he also aimed for the same thing at different timing. He activated the same Battle Fusion from his hand to boost up the attack points of Cyber End Dragon by the increased attack points of E-Hero Flare Wingman. Judai got very excited by such a strength of Kaiser who deserved to be perfect as his name. Kaiser explained Judai that the PERFECT title had limit but Judai had infinite potential.

Sho realizes that many things have happened to his dear brother and Judai since then and changed both of them. To talk about Judai, he smiles and says that Judai now keeps changing a lot. Hearing Sho talking only about the others, Ryo asks how Sho has changed. Sho turns his face away and can't answer exactly. Ryo asks whether Sho still wants to keep watching over Judai as he used to mention. He even asks whether this isn't Sho's turn to change himself (Sho has decided to watch over Judai's destiny since Season III episode 137). In Ryo's heart, he actually feels jealous of Sho now. Sho doubts what his dear brother means. Ryo doesn't say anything but looks into the sky.

Meanwhile, Teacher Ayukawa is receiving a call from someone and looking surprised. She quickly runs to Ryo and Sho coming back from the shore, telling them some urgent contact from Principal Samejima. Teacher Ayukawa opens her cell phone's speaker. Principal Samejima is asking for Ryo. He is now injured and carried down from a helicopter by a stretcher at the helicopter port of the school. Principal Samejima hurries to tell Ryo that a Psycho-Style duelist is aiming to Ryo, a successor of Cyber Style. This guy is coming to this island. Principal Samejima understands that Ryo can't duel now by his current health, so he would like him to leave the island as soon as possible.

Ryo doesn't answer anything. Principal Samejima is trying to ask for Ryo's response. Sho is worried about his dear brother. He responds to Principal Samejima not to be concerned and leave this job on him. No matter what, he won't let his deal brother duel that guy. Principal Samejima hopes that Sho can do so before hanging up.

Ryo thinks that both Sho and Principal Samejima over act. Sho doubts whether his dear brother intends to duel, trying to stop him. Teacher Ayukawa agrees and asks whether Ryo doesn't come here to recover. Ryo just replies plainly that he has already understood and there is nothing to be worried. Anyway, Sho can't stop getting worried about his dear brother at all.

At that night, Inotsume has approached onto Duel Academia's island. Ryo is staying on his bed in a room. Hearing some sound from outside, he steps down from his bed and opens the window. Once he opens it, a letter quickly flies into his room. Ryo picks it up, and it just states "Tonight at 0 AM., I will be waiting at the beach". It appears clearly to be a challenge from Inotsume, Psycho-Style duelist.

Sho still feels worried about his dear brother, so he goes to visit him at night. After knocking the door and entering the room, he becomes surprised by not seeing Ryo anywhere. Meanwhile, Inotsume is running fast through the forest to the destination place. At the same time, Judai is walking outside during. He comes across Inotsume with a cloth closing his mouth. His appearance obviously looks suspicious. Judai quickly stands by his duel disk, asking who Inotsume is. Inotsume doesn't respond but keeps on running quickly. Judai really wonders who this mysterious person is.

Sho is now running towards Judai, asking whether he has seen his dear brother. Judai is afraid that he hasn't seen Kaiser at all. The mysterious person he has just met doesn't seem to look like Kaiser, either. Sho doubts whether Judai has met someone. Judai tells him that he has just seen a weird guy he has never seen before. Sho understands shortly that this person must be a challenger from a rival school to break Cyber Style dojo and get its signboard.

Judai doesn't understand what Sho's talking about. Sho tells him with serious face that his dear brother intends to duel that guy while he hasn't recovered fully yet. Thus, he is very worried if his dear brother is going to duel now. Judai still looks a bit confused. Sho then asks Judai for his help on searching for Ryo and stopping him. Judai doubts whether it will work. No matter how much Sho wants to stop Kaiser, if Kaiser's desire is to duel, Judai thinks that it can't be helped.

Sho doesn't seem to care. He argues Judai loudly that his dear brother's life can't be returned. Both Judai and Sho are now staring at each other seriously. Judai finally accepts Sho's feeling, telling him not to make a face like that. He will help Sho find Kaiser. Anyway, they seem to act to late. Kaiser has already met Inotsume at the beach. Sho is shocked by seeing his dear brother over there.

Inotsume is now confront Kaiser at the beach, admiring him, a successor of Cyber Style - Marufuji Ryo, who accepts his challenge. Tonight should be the last night for Cyber Style. Heretic Psycho Style will change and stand over Cyber Style. Inotsume declares his intention as laughing loudly. Kaiser doesn't care but lets him talk tediously. He just understands that Inotsume wants to duel eagerly. Inotsume says that it's exactly what he wants, standing by his duel disk. Kaiser stands by his duel disk in response. Only a duel can give them answer. Kaiser takes out his Cyber Dark Dragon deck and looks at it. After he inserts it into his duel disk, both of them declares to start a duel.

The first turn is with Kaiser. Drawing a card, he summons [Hell Dragon - 4/2000/0: Send this card to Graveyard at the End Phase this card declare attack. When this card is send to Graveyard from the field, you can tribute a monster from your field to Special Summon this monster to the field] onto the field in attack position. He then ends his turn without doing anything else. Meanwhile, Sho and Judai are running to the beach. The game has already started and they can't finally stop Kaiser.

summary - second period
episode 163 summarized by Janime

The second turn is with Inotsume. Drawing a card, he summons [Drillago - 4/1600/1100: When there are only face-up monsters with ATK 1600 or more on your opponent's side of the field, this monster can attack your opponent's Life Points directly] onto the field in attack position. He immediately activates the special effect of Drillago. When there is a monster with 1600 attack points or higher on Kaiser's field, Drillago can attack Kaiser directly. Hell Dragon has 2000 attack points, so this effect is valid.

Sho is asking Kaiser stop dueling, yelling his dear brother loudly. Kaiser doesn't respond to sho and still pays attention to the duel. Before Drillago is going to do direct attack, Inotsume activates spell card [Limiter Removal ~ Limiter Kaijo - Quick Play Spell: Double the ATK of all face-up Machine-Type monsters that are on your side of the field when you activate this card. During the End Phase, destroy all Monster Cards that were affected by this effect].

This card can double the attack points of Drillago to 3200 (1600*2). Inotsume declares the attack of Drillago to kill Kaiser at this point. Kaiser receives the direct attack, and his LP decreases dramatically to 800 (4000-3200). Judai is afraid that Kaiser's LP decreases quickly by huge damage of 3200. Sho thinks that this doesn't look good. As he has expected, his dear brother's health isn't strong enough to stand this duel. Meanwhile, Kaiser's heart is beating hard as he is squeezing his chest tightly. He looks in pain and sweats, but still tries to face up against Inotsume.

Note: Normally, Sho calls Ryo "Oniisan = Dear Brother", Judai calls Ryo "Kaiser", and Inotsume calls Ryo "Hell Kaiser". In duel mode, we apply one term of "Kaiser" to the whole summary.

Inotsume claims that his turn hasn't finished yet. He plays [DNA-Erasure Sorcery ~ DNA Massatsu Jyujyuttsu - Permanent Spell: When activated, declare a type. If the declared type is sent to the field or your hand to the cemetery, it is removed from the game]. It's the card he uses to seal a dragon-type monster. According to its effect, Inotsume can declare a monster type. If the identified-type monster is sent to the cemetery, it must then be removed from the game.

Spell Card

Inotsume certainly declares a dragon-type monster so that Kaiser can't send it to the cemetery Judai realizes that Cyber Dark combo of Kaiser depends on dragon-type monsters in the cemetery They are the key of this deck and have already been sealed. At Inotsume's end phase, he sets up a face-down card. In addition to Limiter Removal's effect, Drillago must be destroyed at this timing. He then ends his turn at this point. By this, he is confident that terror of Cyber Style has already decreased.

The turn comes to Kaiser. He draws a card and summons [Cyber Dark Keel - 4/800/800: When this card is Normal Summoned successfully, select 1 level 4 or lower Dragon-Type monster in your Graveyard, equip it to this card and increase this card's ATK by an amount equal to the ATK of the monster equipped to this card. When this card battles with an opponent's monster, inflict 300 points of damages to opponent's Life Points. If this card would be destroyed as a result of battle, the monster equipped to this card is destroyed instead] onto the field in attack position.

Once Cyber Dark monster is summoned, Inotsume smiles as if things are going into his plan. Judai thinks that it may be a good chance for Cyber Dark monster because there is no monster on Inotsume's field. Anyway, Sho isn't in the game and always looks worried about his dear brother. Kaiser then declares the direct attack of Hell Dragon.

At this moment, Inotsume opens his face-down trap card [Call of the Haunted ~ Living Dead No Yobi Koe - Continuous Trap: Select 1 monster from your Graveyard and Special Summon it in face-up Attack Position. When this card is destroyed or removed from the field, the summoned monster is destroyed. If the summoned monster is destroyed, this card is also destroyed] to call Drillago back from the graveyard onto the field in attack position.

Hell Dragon destroys Drillago, and Inotsume's LP decreases to 3600 (4000+1600-2000). Kaiser continues the next direct attack of Cyber Dark Keel towards Inotsume. Inotsume doesn't protect himself by anything, receiving the direct hit from Cyber Dark Keel. His LP further decreases to 2800 (3600-800). Kaiser chuckles shortly before getting more pain from his heart beating. He has just realized where the source of this pain actually comes from, looking at his deck.

At Kaiser's end phase, he sets up 3 face-down cards and activates the special effect of Hell Dragon. After it attacked in the battle phase, it must be sent to the graveyard at the end phase. Inotsume reminds him of DNA-Erasure Sorcery's effect that all dragon-type monsters sent to the cemetery must be removed from play. Therefore, Hell Dragon is removed from the game instead of going to the graveyard.

Judai doubts whether dragon-type monsters really can't stay in the graveyard. He thinks that some possibility may remain in a card. Kaiser ends his turn before holding his heart and groaning with pain. Sho can notice that some pain is threatening his dear brother.

The turn comes to Inotsume. He draws a card and summons [Android - Psycho Returner ~ Jinzou Ningen - Psycho Returner - 3/600/1400: This card can attack your opponent directly. When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon 1 Android - Psycho Returner from your Graveyard] onto the field in attack position. By its special effect, Android - Psycho Returner can attack Kaiser directly.

Inotsume declares its direct attack, Cyber Energy Shock (The same attack as Psycho Shocker's or Jinzo's) towards Kaiser quickly. While Judai and Sho are getting worried about Kaiser, Kaiser takes 6 cards from his deck and throws them out to block the attack. This process happens at the same time he opens his face-down trap card [Power Wall - Trap: This can only be activated when you would receive Battle Damage from a Monster. Send any number of cards from the top of your Deck to the Graveyard. Reduce the amount of Battle Damage you receive by the number of cards sent to the Graveyard x 100 points].

According to the effect of Power Wall, battle damage by 100 points for each card sent from the top of the deck into the graveyard can be reduced. Kaiser sends 6 cards (Power Bond, Cyber Dark Horn, Cyber Dark Keel, Different Dimension Capsule, Treasure from Another Dimension, and Polymerization), so battle damage of 600 (100*6) equal to the attack points of Android - Psycho Returner is decreased to 0 (600-600) exactly.

Kaiser is now groaning in pain. Sho realizes that his dear brother is suffering, asking him to stop. He is about to run into him, but Kaiser shouts loudly to tell him not to come closer. Kaiser tries to stand firmly and confronts Inotsume again.

Next, Inotsume plays spell card [Psychic Wave - Quick Play Spell: You can only activate this card when an Andriod- Psycho Returner is face-up on the field in attack mode. By sending 1 Andriod - Psycho Shocker from your deck or hand to the Cemetery, you can inflict 600 points of damage to the opponent] from his hand. This card can be played only when Android - Psycho Returner is on the field in attack mode. It can inflict 600 direct damage to Kaiser when Inotsume discards Android - Psycho Shocker (Jinzo) from his deck into the cemetery.

Spell Card

At this timing, Kaiser opens his face-down trap card [Fusion Guard - Counter Trap: At random place 1 Fusion Monster in your Fusion Deck in your Graveyard to negate damage by a card's effect]. This card can be activated when he is going to receive damage. Due to its effect, Kaiser can randomly select a fusion monster in his fusion deck and send it the his graveyard in order to negate the effect of Psychic Wave.

His fusion monsters are listed up: Cyber End Dragon, Cyber Dark Dragon, F.G.D, Chimeratech Over Dragon, Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, Cyber Twin Dragon. The selected card is Cyber End Dragon. Psychic Wave's effect is negated by Fusion Guard's effect, so Kaiser receives no damage. Inotsume looks mad to lose another chance. Setting up a face-down card, he ends his turn.

Kaiser is hardly able to stand straight. He looks at his third face-down card, [Samsara Dogma ~ Rinnedokudan - Continuous Trap: When this card is activated, declare 1 kind of Type. As long as this card is face-up on the field, all monsters in both player's Graveyard become the Type you declared]. It's the key card to counter DNA-Erasure Sorcery's effect. If he can activate Samsara Dogma, all monsters in both graveyards can be an identified-type monster. Kaiser certainly will declares a dragon type in order to revive Cyber Dark combo and obtain victory. There is Cyber End Dragon. Although it's a machine-type monster, Samsara Dogma can treat it as a dragon type.

Kaiser thinks that this should be good enough as looking at his deck. If it's his deck's desire, he will keep on fighting until the end. The turn comes to Kaiser. Once he draws a card, great impact passes from his deck to his body. He groans in pain as his heart is beating heavily. Kaiser is about to activate his face-down trap card, Samsara Dogma: however, he can't hold such a pain any longer and finally falls onto his knees.

Sho can't stand seeing anymore, running into his dear brother. Kaiser says weakly to stop Sho from coming closer. Sho begs his dear brother to end this duel. Kaiser refuses firmly to do so, explaining that he has owed his deck. Sho doesn't understand at all what Kaiser is talking about.

Inotsume doubts whether Kaiser intends to leave the duel. Kaiser is trying to get up, responding that he isn't leaving. Although the beating of his life may stop, he will keep fighting until the end by his deck. Sho is afraid that he can't stop his dear brother. Kaiser then opens his final key trap card, Samsara Dogma, surprising Inotsume very much. Nevertheless, he collapses before having a chance to play it. Sho and Judai hurry to run into Kaiser.

Sho Brother, no more of this!
Hell Kaiser Don't come in, Sho!
Sho Brother...please end this duel~
Hell Kaiser No, I can't stop. I have owed this deck.
Sho ...owed the deck? What are you talking about?
Inotsume What's wrong, Marufuji Ryo? Do you intend to leave the duel?
Hell Kaiser I am not leaving. Although the beating of my life may stop, I...until the end by this deck...
Sho Brother~
Hell Kaiser Trap Card Open! Samsara Dogma!

Sho is holding Kaiser and telling to stop. This should be good enough, and the duel is cancelled. Inotsume yells madly, telling them not to be kidding. The result of this duel is attached by existence of both schools, so it can't be stopped in the mid way. Kaiser tells Sho to leave him since he decides to move on. Inotsume gives Kaiser an offer. If Kaiser surrenders, it's another case.

Inotsume asks what Kaiser wants to do. Kaiser shakes his head to refuse to surrender. Thus, Inotsume tells him to get up and keep going the duel. Kaiser groans louder and tries to stand up. Anyway, he eventually collapses onto the ground and passes out. Without mercy, Inotsume forces Kaiser to get up and continue quickly.

Sho has already made a decision. He knows that this may not be good for his dear brother but he has no choice. Judai looks at Sho, understands what he intends to do, but doesn't stop him. Sho moves closer to Kaiser, catches his hand, and moves it to his duel disk. He intends to place Kaiser's hand onto the duel disk to surrender and end this game.

Once Kaiser's hand gets closer to the deck, some shock passes quickly into Sho's body. Sho stops moving Kaiser's hand after feeling painful impact. Judai and Inotsume understand that Sho has already placed Kaiser's hand on the deck and the game may have finished already. Judai hopes that this is good for Sho while Inotsume is laughing loudly for this victory. By this, his Psycho Style has already dominated Cyber Style.

However, Sho says that his dear brother hasn't surrendered yet. Judai and Inotsume are surprised by seeing the fact that Kaiser's hand hasn't touched his deck yet. Sho stands up and declares that he will take over this duel. He won't let Inotsume dominate Cyber Style, his dear brother, or even himself, declaring that he will definitely defeat him.

Inotsume laughs loudly before saying that this should be interesting. He decides to give Sho 3 days to train on Cyber Style deck and be matched with him. He hopes that Sho will work hard on this training. Kaiser weakly calls for Sho and wonders whether Sho is serious to do it.

Sho Brother, that's good enough. This duel is cancelled, so...
Inotsume Don't be kidding! The result is attached by existence of both schools. It can't be stopped in the midway.
Hell Kaiser Sho, leave me! I still have to go on.
Sho Brother~
Inotsume But, if you say "Surrender", it's another case. What will you do, Marufuji Ryo? If that's the case, keep going...our duel.
Hell Kaiser Ahhhhhh!
Inotsume What are you doing? It's your turn. Go on quickly!
Judai Sho~
Sho Brother, I am sorry... (Ahh! This impact is...?)
Judai It's good, right, Sho...this?
Inotsume Ha Ha Ha! By this, Cyber Style have already been under my Psycho Style.
Sho No, he hasn't surrendered yet. This duel, I will take over. Definitely, I won't let you prevail over either Cyber Style or Dear Brother...and even myself. I will beat you!
Inotsume Ha Ha Ha! How interesting! If you say so, let's do it. I will give you 3 days to be matched with me. Work hard on your training, Boku-Chan~
Hell Kaiser Sho~

to be continued...

Sho Three days...for three days, the deck of Dear Brother is with me...
Judai Sho, your duel, I will watch to make sure it.
Sho It isn't good. The deck doesn't move. Am I now unable to use this deck?
Judai Next, [The Inherited Cyber Dark Dragon]! Keep it up, Sho! It isn't for Kaiser but for yourself. That time!
Sho The deck has responded...
