Previously, Supreme King's army approached to and attacked the village of Burgandy at the south side. Jim and O'Brien were watching over the army returning at the top of the front fortress of Supreme King's castle. Jim was upset and didn't understand why Supreme King's army could do such a cruel thing like this. O'Brien pointed Jim to look at Burgandy walking from the village at far distance. Burgandy left his last words that they couldn't match with Supreme King, telling Jim and O'Brien to run away. Then, his body turned into particles of light and disappeared. Jim was at his limit and couldn't forgive Supreme King for what he did.

At the main gate of Supreme King's castle, Supreme King and his servants were watching people, who they could captured, walking inside the castle. Jim called for Supreme King loudly from the top of the front fortress. No matter what, he couldn't forgive Supreme King and finally challenged him into a duel. Supreme King took off his mask while accepting the challenge. At this moment, Jim and O'Brien were very shocked by that the true appearance of Supreme King was actually their dear friend, Judai.

As Jim and O'Brien are amazed by the unexpected appearance of Supreme King Judai, one of Supreme King servant, Guardian Baou, suddenly appears in front of Jim and blows him away. O'Brien calls for Jim and is about to help him, but his movement is stopped by the sword of another servant, Skull Knight, behind him. Skull Knight tells O'Brien not to move unless he wants to be killed. Jim collapses over Karen on his back, feeling sorry to her. Then, other Supreme King's servants, Chaos Sorcerer, Skilled White Magician, Skilled Dark Magician, all appear in front of Jim and O'Brien.

Jim is still confused by the fact that Judai is Supreme King, asking Judai for reason and trying to approach him. However, he is stopped by the twin swords of Skilled Dark Magician and Skilled White Magician. The servants tell them to be quiet: otherwise, they will be punished. Jim doesn't care but tries to struggle and asks Supreme King Judai to answer. Supreme King Judai still standing at the front gate doesn't reply any single word. He looks very cold under his evilly golden eyes glaring at Jim. Jim keeps asking why Supreme King Judai can't answer and whether he has already been deceived by these people. Chaos Sorcerer reminds Jim of his warning before blasting his back by some spell to make him silent.

Jim is hurt while Karen is groaning with pain. Anyway, he doesn't give up on Judai, still watching at and doubting what's going on with him. Supreme King Judai finally turns back and walks impassively towards the castle. The servants have realized that their master decides to retreat now. O'Brien takes this chance when the servants are paying attention to Supreme King Judai to flip himself away and summons [Fire Trooper - 3/1000/1000: When you Normal Summon, Flip Summon, or Special Summon this card, send this card to the Graveyard and inflict 1000 damage to your opponent].

Fire Trooper explodes burning flame wall to block Supreme King's servants while O'Brien tells Jim to run away at this moment. When the flame disappears, the servants find that both O'Brien and Jim have already gone. They want to follow them and capture them back, but Supreme King Judai tells them to let O'Brien and Jim go. Skull Knight is about to argue. Supreme King Judai turning back and walking into the castle tells them that he isn't interested in warriors who don't want to fight. Then, the gate is shut down when he completely enters.

Outside the fortress in the empty plains, O'Brien and Jim are sitting together behind a rock. O'Brien shares Jim a canteen of water and asks whether Jim is okey. Jim thanks O'Brien for water before turning to Karen and realizing that she also needs it. Thus, he pours some water into Karen's mouth, drinks for the remaining, and returns it to O'Brien. Both of them look at Supreme King's castle and can't stop thinking about Judai. The person whom they have searched for is over there, but he looks completely different. O'Brien asks whether Jim could notice Judai's eyes. He doesn't know what happened to Judai, but Judai currently doesn't look like the one he knew.

Jim tells O'Brien that he understands. No matter how much Judai has changed, Jim is confident that Supreme King is truely Judai because his right eye tells him. He holds his bandaged eye while O'Brien is looking at the blue comet in the sky. O'Brien remembers what Jim said before that the comet was falling towards him. At that time, Jim looked hurt and held his right bandaged eye, so O'Brien asked whether his eye was hurt. Jim thanked O'Brien for his concern as realizing that his eye was telling him something.

Supreme King	Let them go...
Skull Knight	But
Supreme King	I am not interested in warriors who are not willing to fight.
O'Brien	Are you okey?
Jim	Thank you! You want it?
O'Brien	Did you see those eyes? We don't know what happened to Judai, but that isn't Judai whom we know.
Jim	I understand. No matter how much he has changed, he is Judai. This eye tells me.
O'Brien	You talked about it before...
Jim	That comet is going towards somewhere. That star is falling towards me.
O'Brien	What's wrong, Jim? Are you hurt?
Jim	Thanks, O'Brien. This right eye is whispering...

O'Brien remembers what Jim said before that he wanted to save Judai. He asks Jim whether there is anything related to his bandaged right eye. Jim realizes that he has never talked about himself since he came to Duel Academia. O'Brien asks Jim directly whether there is anything between him and Judai. Jim replies plainly that there is nothing while reminding himself of what happened before at Osiris Red dorm. During that time, Judai tried to feed Karen as explaining that he was also Karen's friend. If Jim was Karen's friend, Judai claimed that he had to be Karen's friend, too, since he was also Jim's friend.

After saying these, Karen began to get along with Judai quickly. She stepped out from Jim, moved closer to Judai, and ate a sausage that Judai peeled for her. Judai was very glad that Karen finally ate food from his hand, going to give her more. He enjoyed feeding as stopping her from eating a sausage that he didn't peel because she would have a stomach ache. Jim just looked at Judai playing with Karen and smiled.

Jim tells O'Brien that there was nothing special, but Judai could make friend easily with Karen that had never got along with anybody besides himself. This makes Jim wonder there is any reason for people to become friends. He calls what souls are connected together naturally Spiritual Friends, looking Karen and padding her head. The first one who taught him about this thing was Karen.

O'Brien	At that time, you said that you would like to save Judai.
Jim	Ah!
O'Brien	Is there anything, that right eye?
Jim	I have never talked anything about myself since I came to Duel Academia, haven't I?
O'Brien	Ah, Jim, is there anything actually between you and Judai?
Jim	Nothing~
Judai	I am Karen's friend. I am also Jim's friend, right? If Jim and Karen are friends, I am also Karen's friend. Right, Karen? She ate it, she ate it! That's it, is that yummy? Do you want more? There are plenty. Ahhh!! Hey! Don't eat them with peels on! You'll get stomach ache.
Jim	Despite that there was nothing, Judai was befriended smoothly with Karen who wouldn't follow anyone besides me. Is there even a reason why people become friends...? Spiritual friends whose souls attracts each other naturally. Isn't something like that a friend? The one who first taught me about it was Karen.

Jim reminds himself of his childhood period when he was looking for Karen in the forest. Karen was about to step into an animal trap, so Little Jim jumped over to move her away from it. Both of them fell into a river, and that caused his right to be hurt. When he got up, he found himself beside a campfire with Karen sleeping nearby. His right eye had already been bandaged. There was a man with a long beard sitting on the other side of the campfire, and he realized that Little Jim had woken up already. When Little Jim was about to say anything, he held his bandaged right eye in pain. Karen groaned since she was concerned about him.

The old man understood that Little Jim risked his life to protect his friend. Little Jim padded Karen's head and said that he was glad to see that Karen was safe. The old man told him that the thing attached to his right eye was called [Eye of Orichalcum ~ Orichalcum No Manako]. This eye was created a long time ago when people and spirits contacted. It would make a miracle when Little Jim was about to save his friend. Little Jim doubted whether the friend whom the old man was talking about was Karen. The old man didn't answer but told Little Jim to look at the red comet in the sky. The star would tell him his answer. When its tail disappeared, it would fall towards Little Jim. It's time when he could make a miracle, save his friend, and save the world from destruction. Finishing his words, the body of the old man turned into particles of light and disappeared.

Noted: [Orichalcum] is actually a legendary red metal described in several ancient writings mostly in the story of Atlantis as recounted in Critias dialogue and recorded by Plato. It was discovered and mined in Atlantis during ancient time.

After telling O'Brien the whole story, Jim takes off the bandage and shows O'Brien his actual Eye of Orichalcum. He concludes that the time has finally come and he has to go. O'Brien understands the whole story of Eye of Orichalcum, but he doubts whether Jim wants to sacrifice himself to save the world merely following the predicted destiny. Jim corrects O'Brien that he isn't the type to accomplish a mission or to sacrifice himself for something. He merely wants to save his friend. If Judai's soul is now losing his own way, Jim really can't leave his friend. In case Jim fails to call Judai back, he counts O'Brien to take care of the rest (In other words, if he loses and dies, O'Brien will have to act next). He wraps the bandage back and looks at Supreme King's castle, having ready for the battle.

Jim	Karen? Where are you? What, you were in somewhere like that? Watch out Karen!
An Old Man	You have woken up already?
Jim	I... This?!
An Old Man	Young boy, you didn't care for your life to protect your friend.
Jim	I'm glad that Karen is okay.
An Old Man	That thing on your right eye is [Eye of Orichalcum].
Jim	Eye of Orichalcum
An Old Man	It was made when long time ago people and spirits contacted. When you're about to rescue your best friend, this Eye of Orichalcum will make miracle.
Jim	When you say...friend...do you mean Karen?
An Old Man	Look at that! That star will tell you. When the tail of the comet disappears, that star of destiny will fall towards you. At that time, make miracle happen and rescue your friend! That will be the way to rescue the world from destruction.
Jim	I think that time has come.
O'Brien	That eye is Eye of Orichalcum?
Jim	Yes, I will go.
O'Brien	Just because it's the predicted fate? Are you going to sacrifice yourself to save world?
Jim	No, that kind of mission or sacrificing myself doesn't fit my personality. I just want to save my friend.
O'Brien	But...
Jim	If Judai's soul is getting lost in his way, I can't abandon friend. If I can't call Judai out, I'll leave the rest on you then.
O'Brien	Jim~

Jim approaches to the gate of Supreme King's castle. Behind him, Karen is unstrapped from his back and stays nearby O'Brien along with belongings. With a duel disk on his arm, Jim is ready and yells loudly, "Supreme King! I am coming back. Duel me!", to call Supreme King Judai out.

Supreme King's servants first appear in front of the gate, asking whether Jim has come to die. They won't let Jim escape again this time. Differently from before, Jim with full fighting spirit yells, "Get out!, I have no business with you guys. I have returned to duel only Supreme King!". He says as standing by his duel disk. His fighting spirit is so strong that Supreme King's servants are aware of it.

The gate is then open with dark wind blowing out. Supreme King Judai walks out slowly while the servants line up nearby for his way. He gives an order to his people shortly, "Interfere and I won't forgive you". His servants bow to accept the command.

Supreme King Judai stands by his duel disk where several buzzsaws extend from. The blades spin around violently on his arm before lock into position as card slots. Dark wind emerges from his position around the place, threatening both Jim and O'Brien. O'Brien blocks himself by his arms while feeling that this force of Supreme King Judai is very powerful. Supreme King Judai and Jim stare at each other before drawing their initial cards and declaring to begin a duel.

First turn is with Jim. He draws a card and summons [Shell Knight - 4/0/2000: When this card is successfully Summoned, Special Summoned, or Reverse Summoned, inflict 500 points of damage on the opponent] onto the field in defense position. According to the special effect of Shell Knight, when it's summoned successfully onto the field, it can inflict direct 500 damage to the opponent.

Many shells burst from Shell Knight towards Supreme King Judai, reducing his LP to 3500 (4000-500). Anyway, he stands still without any feeling. Setting up a face-down card, Jim ends his turn. O'Brien is pleased with the best first move of Jim but Skill Knight thinks that it's the worst first turn. Guardian Baou is afraid that a common opponent of Supreme King may not be able to stand at the first turn.

The turn comes to Supreme King Judai. He draws a card calmly before playing it [Dark Fusion - Spell: Special Summon 1 Fiend-type Fusion Monster by sending the monsters that are listed by a Fusion Monster Card from your hand or your side of the field to the Graveyard. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) The monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot be destroyed by the effects of a Spell or Trap effect in this turn] immediately.

Shell Knight Monster Card	Dark Fusion Spell Card

O'Brien and Jim are very surprised by the new card. Jim realizes that he has never seen Judai use this kind of card before. He doubts whether this is a key card of the deck of Judai who has already turned Supreme King. According to the effect of this spell card, Judai declares dark fusion between E-Hero Featherman and E-Hero Burst Lady into [Evil Hero Inferno Wing - 6/2100/1200: This monster can only be Fusion Summoned by Dark Fusion. When this card attacks a monster in defense mode, and its attack power is greater than that monster's defense power, inflict damage on your opponent equal to the value. When this card destroys a monster and sends it to the Cemetery as a result of battle, inflict damage on your opponent equal to the value of attack or defense power that is the highest of the two].

O'Brien realizes that E-Hero monsters are united into an Evil Hero monster. Supreme King Judai declares the attack of Evil Hero Inferno Wing to destroy Shell Knight. Inferno burst is then fired out. Jim claims that it's too easy before opening his face-down trap card [Reactive Armor - Trap: Activate this card when the opponent's monster attacks. Destroy that attacking monster]. This card is able to destroy the attacking monster of Evil Hero Inferno Wing.

Judai explains by plain tone that Evil Hero Inferno Wing summoned by Dark Fusion can't be affected by any effect of spell or trap card. Therefore, Reactive Armor of Jim can't be played and destroyed. Shell Knight has to be destroyed, and Jim's LP decreases to 3900. Jim is curious why he still received damage despite the fact that his monster was destroyed in defense position. He doubts whether there is any ability to penetrate and inflict damage to him. Supreme King Judai explains that Jim is right and Evil Hero Inferno Wing has additional effect. When it attacks a monster in defense mode and its attack points are greater than defense points of that monster, it can inflict damage equal to the differences. As a result, Jim's LP decreases to 3900 (4000+2000-2100).

Furthermore, Evil Hero Inferno Wing has another effective effect. When it successfully destroys a monster in battle and sends it to the cemetery. Jim has to receive additional damage equal to the higher between attack and defense points of the destroyed monster. Thus, Evil Hero Inferno Wing jumps up and uses hell backfire attack Jim. Blue fire flows over Jim, reducing his LP to 1900 (3900-2000: The defense points of Shell Knight that is higher than the attack points of itself). O'Brien calls for Jim while Karen groans. Both of them are very concerned about him. Skilled White Magician and Skilled Dark Magician think that although Jim has some LP left after receiving this intense attack, he shouldn't be able to stand it.

Jim falls onto his knees as he grimaces. Supreme King Judai looks surprised while Jim's bandage is falling off by the attack. Jim gets up and reveals his Eye of Orichalcum behind the bandage, which looks like an artifical borg eye. He says, "Supreme King...No!...You are Judai! Judai has just fallen into darkness of deep heart. It doesn't mean that his heart has disappeared completely".

Jim looks at the blue comet in the sky. It transforms into a red comet, spins, and moves into Eye of Orichalcum of Jim. Eye of Orichalcum now shines with blinding red light. As the old man previously said, it can make a miracle to help Jim save his friend. Jim says, "Eye of Orichalcum, it's the power granted to me to save friend...Judai...I am going to see where you are now". His Eye of Orichalcum shines brightly while Supreme King Judai is very amazed by what this light is. The red light draws Jim and O'Brien into the current dark heart of Judai surrounded by many mirrors.

O'Brien doubts whether this is the miracle of Eye of Orichalcum. He and Jim notice Jim kneeing in the center of his darkness. He with yellow eyes looks very lifeless when surrounded by many empty mirrors. Judai keeps on asking himself what things turned out very bad and what he actually did wrong. He looks very confused and can't find any answer for himself. While Jim is walking closer to him, the picture of Professor Satou appears on a mirror. Professor Satou tells Judai that great power of a hero comes with great responsibility. Judai at this point can't win either him or Professor Cobra.

When Judai dueled Professor Satou (episode 114), Professor Satou told him that he had something that Judai didn't have. It's darkness of heart sleeping inside duelists. At that time, Judai didn't seem to understand it clearly. Professor Satou explained that it's something duelists carry on to fight, and Judai had never had this kind of thing. Thinking about it now, Judai is very curious about what his professor was trying to teach him. The picture of Professor Satou then disappears while the picture of Professor Cobra appears on another mirror. Professor Cobra supports Professor Satou's thought and tells Judai that his duel is very light because he doesn't carry on anything in a duel.

When Judai dueled Professor Cobra (episode 118), Professor Cobra told him that Judai fought for nothing. This type of person couldn't fight again when his fun or interest was gone because he didn't hold any responsibility on his shoulders. In other words, Judai had nothing to push himself up to fight. Professor Cobra explained that the thing a duelist carried became his power when he was in crisis. However, Judai didn't have thing king of thing at all, and no rule could determine that this type of person could win.

The picture of Professor Cobra disappears as Judai begins to tremble. Judai tells himself that he won and always won for everybody's expectation (Johan told Judai in his duel against Professor Cobra that Judai still hold something and it's expectation). Despite his consecutive winning, the result was still the worst. Judai shakes as his shoulders quake, clasping his hands together and screaming.

In the duel against Brron (episode 135, 136), he still lost his friends: Manjyome, Fubuki, Asuka, and Kenzan turned into particles of light and disappeared. Brron even told Judai that blood of his friends had already seeped into sand of the arena, and Johan was also dead.

The pictures of his friends appear on many mirrors and are broken one by one. Because his friends disappeared, Judai blames himself and believes that something inside him isn't still enough as his professors said. He suffers and tries to get the answer what about the thing a duelist should carry is still missing for him. Then, the voice of Supreme King comes into his heart. Jim is very surprised by seeing the picture of Supreme King appear in all surrounding mirrors. Supreme King tells Judai that if he wants to defeat an evil, he has to become an evil himself. In this cruel world, he can't accomplish his goal without taking over by force.

Supreme King gives a blank card, which is actually Super Fusion, to Judai. As Judai is looking at it, Supreme King tells him to gather people's souls to unleash the power of the card. Judai's yellow eyes turn big as if he completely believes in Supreme King's words. At this moment, Jim calls for Judai's attention. He tells Judai not to listen because the responsiblity he carries on isn't something like that and Judai doesn't need any darkness in his heart. Then, red light begins to shine again and brings O'Brien and Jim out from Judai's heart.

As O'Brien looks uncertain to what has just happened, Jim turns to him and nods his head. He turns back to Supreme King Judai and says that Eye of Orichalcum leaded him into Judai's mind. He has already realized that the words flowing into the heart of Judai, who is losing his own way, actually come from Supreme King. Now, Jim's words may not be able to reach Judai, so he decides to pull Judai out from darkness forcefully. It's what he can do for his dear friend. Supreme King Judai just watches and listens without saying any single thing. Jim then declares to run on his turn actively.

O'Brien	Jim, perhaps, this is the miracle of Eye of Orichalcum.
Judai	Why? Why? Why does it turn out like this? What did I do wrong?
Jim	Judai~
Judai	What? What?
Prof. Satou	Great power comes with great responsibility. You can not win...either Cobra or me. We have something that you don't have.
Judai	Something I don't have?
Prof. Satou	Yes, it's darkness in heart sleeping inside a duelist.
Judai	Darkness in heart?
Prof. Satou	Something that duelists carry in their mind. Judai-Kun, you have nothing like that.
Prof. Cobra	Yes, your duel is light. The one who fights with nothing on like you can not fight again when he loses interest. Something that duelists carry becomes power when they are in danger. But you have nothing like that. In this life, there is no rule that one who doesn't have that can win.
Jim	Judai~
Judai	But, I won, I won, carrying everyone's expectations... But!! But!!
Ojama Yellow	Big Brother! Wha... what!! What is this happening?
Brron	Well, I told you already. Blood of those people has seeped into sand of this field. The boy called Johan is dead too.
Judai	Everyone disappeared. Certainly, something inside me still isn't enough. What... what isn't enough!? What is something that a duelist should carry inside!?
Supreme King	Then, you get your hands on them. To destroy an evil, you have to become an evil if needed. In this cruel world of deceits, you can not reach your goals except by taking over by force.
Judai	Force?
Supreme King	Stolen souls, take grudge of them and unleash the power!
Jim	Don't listen, Judai! The responsibility you carry is nothing like that! You don't need darkness in heart!
O'Brien	What is it?
Jim	Eye of Orichalcum has lead me into your mind. The words that have gotten into the heart of Judai who is getting lost are actually made by you, Supreme King. As for now, my words can't reach you, so I will pull you out from darkness by force! As your friend! My turn, draw!

Drawing a card, Jim gets Half Life. He then plays spell card [Fossil Fusion ~ Kaseki Yuugou - Fossil Fusion - Spell: Remove the monsters listed on a Fusion Monster Card that include Fossil in its card name from your and your opponent's Graveyard from the play, and select 1 Fusion Monster that includes Fossil in its card name from your Fusion Deck and Special Summon it. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.)] to remove Shell Knight in his cemetery and E-Hero Burst Lady in Supreme King Judai's cemetery from play in order to fusion summon [Skullpawn, the Cenozoic Fossil Knight ~ Shinseidai Kaseki Kishi Skullpawn - ?/2000: This card can be special summoned only by the effect of Fossil Fusion] onto the field in attack position.

After that, he pays a half of his LP to play spell card [Time Stream - Spell: Pay half of your Life Points. Target 1 Fusion Monster on your side of the field with Cenozoic or Mesozoic in its name to activate, and change the type of a monster in your opponent's Cemetery designated for Fusion by that monster into the target's type. Return that monster to the Fusion deck and Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster identical to the target's type, disregarding Summoning Requirements. At this time, if you targeted a Cenozoic, choose a Mesozoic and Special Summon it. If you targeted a Mesozoic, choose a Paleozoic and Special Summon it. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.)]. His LP goes down to 950 (1900/2).

The effect of Time Stream allows Skullpawn, the Cenozoic Fossil Knight to evolve into [Skullknight, the Mesozoic Fossil Knight ~ Chuuseidai Kaseki Kishi Skullknight - ?/2400: This card can only be special summoned by the effect of Fossil Fusion. This card can attack all monsters on the opponents side of the field]. Jim says that he will wake Judai up before declaring the attack of Skullknight, the Mesozoic Fossil Knight to destroy Evil Hero Inferno Wing. This strike reduces Supreme King Judai's LP to 3200 (3500+2100-2400).

Half Life Spell Card

Next, Jim plays spell card [Half Life - Quick Play Spell: Taget 1 monster on the field to activate this card. During this turn if the monster is destroyed as a result of battle and send to the graveyard, special summon it back to the field with its attack points halved and its effect negated] that allows to resummon the monster that has just been destroyed in battle onto the field. However, the summoned monster's attack points will be halved and its effect will be negated. As a result, Evil Hero Inferno Wing with 1050 attack points (2100/2) is resummoned onto Supreme King Judai's field.

At this moment, Jim activates the special effect of Skullknight, the Mesozoic Fossil Knight. It can attack all monsters on the opponent's side of the field as long as there is a monster left on the opponent's field. Therefore, Skullknight, the Mesozoic Fossil Knight can do the second attack to destroy Evil Hero Inferno Wing. This strike reduces Supreme King Judai's LP to 1950 (3200+1050-2400=1850). People are curious about how the result of this intense attack will be.

Note: We don't know why anime presents that Supreme King Judai's LP ends up by 1950 not 1850 as what we expect it to be in the blanket. Possibility is that the attack points of Skullknight, the Mesozoic Fossil Knight decrease to 2300 but we don't see any cause of this situation. Thus, we note this as an issue on duel plot of this episode.

Jim tells Judai to leave darkness of heart and come back. He strongly hopes that Judai will return by his previous strike. Supreme King Judai faces up, and there appears normal eyes of Judai and his evilly golden eyes are gone. Jim looks very happy and thinks that Judai may have returned from darkness of heart completely. Suddenly, Judai's eyes turn back into evilly golden eyes before he says coldly, "What a fool! Power is everything. Above power...to rule this world...darkness of heart is necessary". He actually returns into Supreme King form. Jim realizes that he fails to bring Judai back. O'Brien is also concerned by whether it is impossible to bring Judai back from darkness of heart.
