Previously, Giese let Hell Gundog attack Johan directly, causing his LP to decrease to 1800 (2800-1000). Meanwhile, Sho met with the others while bringing some water back to Judai. He was afraid to tell the truth what had happened to his Big Brother. Judai was currently collapsing in front of the main door. Although he was losing consciousness, he was worried about Johan and calling for his name.

On the other side, Amon is slipping a trap card inbetween the walls of the vent he is climbing through. He then smiles as if everything is running smoothly as planned. O'Brien, meanwhile, is sitting with his eyes' shut in the pit trap. Professor Cobra is walking pacing pass the plasma container. With Giese's dark mind, he is able to let Johan spend all of his power, and both of their duel energy will be all used up by keeping on fighting. Professor Cobra then laughs sinisterly.

The duel between Giese and Johan is still running. Johan has 1800 LP left while Giese has full 4000 LP. Johan's Gem Beast Amber Mammoth and Gem Beast Amethyst Cat are trapped in nets on Giese's side. Giese also has Hell Gundog on the field in attack position. On the contrary, Johan has no monster but a face-down card on the field. Cobalt gem is also placed on the field, or Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle is placed in one of his spell/trap card zones.

No matter what Johan is thinking, Giese sees that Johan obtains Gem Beasts merely to get Rainbow Dragon. Johan tries to refuse, but Giese is hard to believe. For Giese, any person who doesn't want to obtain the ultimate card is weird. Johan isn't different. Giese thinks that Johan wants to obtain Rainbow Dragon badly. Johan argues strongly that he is different from Giese because he is binding with his monsters by friendship.

Johan reminds himself of when Pegasus gave him Gem Beasts after Europse tournament (episode 107). Gem Beast cards were sealed within plates of their gemstones, having displayed on a table in a card showroom. Johan seemed impressed by Gem Beast cards. He had heard of the rumor that these cards would react only to the chosen person. Pegasus convinced him that Johan was actually the chosen one, encouraging him to try taking the cards.

Once Johan touched a Gem Beast card by his finger, it shined and the plate dissolved to reveal the card, Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus. Meanwhile, the plates of other cards were dissolving and revealing several Gem Beast monsters. Pegasus said that the power of Gem Beasts had been totally released. They were the symbol of heart with belief, and Johan was their real head of household. Gem Beast spirits appeared around Johan, including Gem Beast Ruby Carbuncle leaping on his shoulder and greeting him.

Johan tells Giese that Gem Beasts did choose him and believe in his duel. After he met them, he has been aware of mission. Johan would like to meet their expectation. Thus, the person like Giese shouldn't understand this feeling and the bond of friendship between spirits and human beings. Johan says confidently before pointing his finger towards Giese. Giese is surprised by seeing Johan getting heated up suddenly. Setting up a card, he ends his turn.

Johan These are the Gem Beast cards? I heard from the rumors that without the chosen one, they won’t respond.
Pegasus Andersen-boy! You are that chosen one. Go on, pick them up and see.
Pegasus Jesus! The die has already been cast. The power of the Jewel Beats has been released. The symbols of hearts trusting in one another are the Gem Beasts! You are the true master of the Gem Beasts!
Johan The Gem Beasts who believe in my ideals…my dueling…and who chose me…I realized my own goals by having met them. I want to measure up to their expectations! I see~ you understand neither any single thing about the strong bond between spirits and human beings nor our feeling.

Johan declares excitedly to run his turn. Drawing a card, he summons [Gem Beast Topaz Tiger ~ Hougyokujyuu Topaz Tiger - ?/1600: When this card is destroyed, instead of sending it to the Graveyard, you can place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zones. When this card is in your Spell/Trap Card Zone it is treated as a Continuous Spell Card. When this card battles with an opponent's monster, increase this cards ATK by 400 points] onto the field in attack position.

Seeing Johan being eager suddenly, Giese, at this timing, opens his face-down trap card [Trap Hole ~ Otoshi Ana - Trap: When your opponent Normal Summons or Flip Summons a monster with an ATK of 1000 points or more, destroy the monster]. It causes a circle trap hole beneath Gem Beast Topaz Tiger, making it falling down and destroyed. Once a monster with attack points higher than 1000 is summoned onto the opponent's field, this trap can destroy that monster.

Johan doesn't feel down at all, saying that once Gem Beast is destroyed, it can remain on the field. Topaz gemstone appears on the field, residing in Johan's spell/trap card zone. Once two gemstones are together on the field, Johan is allowed to play [Rare Value - Spell: When there are 2 or more monsters that include Gem Beast in their card name in your Spell/Trap Card Zone, randomly select 1 and send it to the Graveyard and draw 2 cards from your Deck]. Randomly selecting a gemstone, Cobalt gem, and discarding it into the cemetery, Johan can draw two new cards.

E-Force
Spell Card

Johan looks at the cards before playing one of them, [E-Force - Quick Play Spell: You can select 1 monster with Gem Beast in its card name in your Spell & Trap Zone and Special Summon it]. This spell cars allows him to special summon a Gem Beast from a gemstone in his spell/trap card zones. Certainly, Topaz gem shatters as Gem Beast Topaz Tiger is leaping into play again. Giese is surprised by whether Johan has aimed for this from the beginning; Johan knows that Giese is a trap specialist like a hunter, so he lures him to reveal his trap.

Johan explains the special ability of Gem Beast Topaz Tiger that its attack points can go up by 400 when it's going to battle. Thus, its attack points become 2000 (1600+400) while Johan declares it to attack Hell Gundog. Hell Gundog is finally destroyed, and Giese's LP first decreases 3000 (4000+1000-2000). Giese gets up and explains that once Hell Gundog is destroyed, it can call out another friend. In other words, by its special effect, another Hell Gundog can be special summoned from the deck onto the field in attack position.

Gem Beast Topaz Tiger returns to its position on Johan's side. Johan then says that he has already known before activating the trap card [Induced Summon ~ Yuuhatsu Shoukan - Trap: You can activate this card when a monster is Special Summoned on your opponent's side of the field. Both players Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from their respective hand]. This card can be activated only if Giese can special summon a monster successfully. It allows both sides to summon a level 4 or lower monster from their hands.

Johan selects to summon [Gem Beast Emerald Turtle ~ Hougyokujyuu Emerald Turtle - 3/600/2000: Once per turn, you can switch a monster which has attacked on your side of the field to Defense Position. When this card is destroyed, instead of sending it to the Graveyard, you can place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zones. When this card is in your Spell/Trap Card Zone it is treated as a Continuous Spell Card] onto the field in attack position. Giese has no card left on his hand, so he is unable to summon anything.

M-Force
Spell Card

He next plays a spell card [M-Force - Quick Play Spell: Increase the ATK of 1 monster that includes Gem Beast in its card name by 500 points. When the monster targetted by this card's effect attacks with an ATK higher than the DEF of your opponent's Defense Position monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points. This effect lasts until the End Phase of the activated turn]. This card can increase the attack points of Gem Beast Emerald Turtle by 500. Therefore, its total attack points become 1100 (500+600).

At this moment, Johan declares the attack points of Gem Beast Emerald Turtle towards Hell Gundog quickly. Gem Beast Emerald Turtle moves into its shell before releasing many slashes to destroy Hell Gundog. This strike reduces Giese's LP to 2900 (3000+1000-1100). Giese gets up again and claims that he still has another Hell Gundog left in his deck. As a result, he activates the special effect of the second Hell Gundog just destroyed to special summon the third Hell Gundog onto the field in defense position.

Johan realizes that it's the last Hell Gundog. He thinks that Giese should thank his monster for its useful help. Then, he activates the special effect of Gem Beast Emerald Turtle to turn it into defense position before ending his turn. The turn moves to Giese. He draws a card and gets Pot of Avarice. He looks mad as setting it up and ending his turn quickly. Giese smiles and challenges Johan to let his dear Gem Beasts attack so that they will be eaten by his trap again.

Johan looks calm without arguing. The turn moves to him. Drawing a card, Johan declares that he will no longer hestitate. He can't stand being stuck here. Anyway, Giese doesn't think that he can stand in front of his trap. Johan suggests Giese stop showing to be strong. He knows that Giese is pretending to use a trap and looking firm. The fact is that he is feeling anxious and trembling. For the present, Giese's face-down card is merely a meaningless spell card.

Giese looks shocked when the truth is caught. Johan seems to read the game well when he is calm like this. He changes the position of Gem Beast Emerald Turtle to attack position and declares its attack immediately. Several blades are shot to destroy Hell Gundog. This is the last Hell Gundog in Giese's deck, so he can no longer any other monster from his deck. Johan continues the next attack of Gem Beast Topaz Tiger towards Giese directly. Gem Beast Topaz Tiger jumps over Giese and slashes him. Giese is knocked down while his LP decreases to 1300 (2900-1600).

Johan activates the special effect of Gem Beast Emerald Turtle to change it into defense position. He sees Giese have no card left on hand as the turn is moving to him. Giese draws a card and gets Lure Phantom, looking at Johan. He thinks that Johan is looking down him, who has leaded the game from the beginning. That may not matter because he still has another real trump card. Giese glares at Johan and grins leeringly.

summary - second period
episode 116 summarized by Janime

In the forest, because everybody has been together, Jim suggests to consolidate and analyze overall information. There may be something he doesn't understand. Kenzan asks what information Jim is talking about. At the first time, in the night party of Dis-Duel, there was the event when many people in a group all fainted away. At the second time, Asuka (Jim calls her Tomorrow Girl again) was trapped and tortured by water. Sho adds that, after that, the elevator was stopped when they tried to get up.

In the center of these events, there is Professor Cobra. Jim concludes and thinks that Professor Cobra may be planning for something. Kenzan asks what it is. Jim replies that he doesn't know and understand. People seem disappointed since they've expected Jim to know something after bringing about this serious issue. Anyway, Jim is sure that Professor Cobra must be planning for something terrible. It should become pinch for this school. Kenzan urges people to stop Professor Cobra. Sho agrees as Asuka suggests everybody hurries to join Johan and Judai. Everyone then begins to run off into the forest.

Meanwhile, laser nets are impeding Amon in the vent. He sees that the security becomes tighter over here while taking out some small circle devices. He turns it around and attaches it to block the laser at the wall. He keeps on putting them to block the remaining lasers one by one. Due to this strict security, it's the proof for Amon that he is closer to his goal.

On the other side, Judai finally gains his consciousness and gets up. He tries to get up to his feet but stumble to the front. Judai realizes that Johan is fighting alone and getting worried about him. He still looks very exhausted but tries to walk off into the door slowly. Professor Cobra is now working in front of the monitors. By his computation, after he takes the duel energy in the duel of Johan and Giese, his plan will be accomplished. He turns to look at the plasma container and says that it's about time and the offerings for revive will be gathered soon.

It's still in the mid of Giese's turn. He summons Lure Phantom in defense position and ends his turn. It's the last card on his hand, so he has nothing else left to play. Johan says that Giese doesn't readily resign himself to be a bad loser. Giese doesn't reply but smiles. He seems to trust in his trump card.

The turn comes to Johan. Drawing a card, he looks at Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus captured in the glass capsule. He thinks that he is going to help it now, turning Gem Beast Emerald Turtle into attack position and declaring its attack to destroy Lure Phantom immediately. Giese's field is totally wiped out. Johan says that this should be the end as going to let Gem Beast Topaz Tiger strike Giese directly.

Suddenly, Giese tells Johan to hold on. Johan doubts whether Giese is going to ask for life. Giese refuses that it isn't his life but a monster's life. He takes out Jerry Beans Man from the pocket of his shirt. The spirit of Jerry Beans Man appears nearby with sad face. Johan can recognize it immediately that it's Jerry Beans Man of Tom. The spirit used to him to find and help its master, Tom. Johan has just realized that Giese is actually the one who stole Tom's card and cut the bond between those two.

Hearing of what Johan talked about the bond of those two, Giese claimed that Tom actually couldn't see the spirit. Johan argues angrily that although he couldn't see the spirit, he and his spirit could understand each other by hearts. Tom was actually stronger that the guy like Giese who could see spirits but didn't understand their hearts.

Giese remembers that he was listening to Johan and Tom on that day. Johan was telling Tom that the spirits really existed although he couldn't see them. If Tom just believed, Jerry Beans Man would return to him. Johan wasn't aware of Giese staying nearby and listening to what he was saying. After that, Giese has been interested in Johan who has the same ability to see spirits.

Giese was surprised by seeing him become Johan of Gem Beasts. Anyway, he would like to thank gods for giving him this trump card, Jerry Beans Man. Giese holds up the card in boths hand, having ready to rip it off. The spirit of Jerry Beans Man is getting scared as Johan tells Giese to stop. Giese tells Johan to stop his attack if Johan would like him to stop doing this.

Johan looks at Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus looking more exhausted. However, he has no choice but stops. Although he is very worried about his monsters, he can't let Jerry Beans Man be killed. Thus, he changes Gem Beast Emerald Turtle to defense position, ending his turn. That's as good as what Giese wants. The game can be continued as the turn comes back to Giese.

Giese draws a card and opens his spell card [Pot of Avarice ~ Tonkokuna Tsubo - Spell: Select 5 Monster Cards from your Graveyard, then add them to your Deck and shuffle it. After that, draw 2 cards from your Deck]. It allows him to place 5 monsters from his graveyard back to the deck, shuffle it, and draw two new cards. Then, he summons [Camouflage Guardna ~ Meisai Guardna - ?/1900] onto the field in defense position.

Next, Giese plays the spell card [Decoy Baby - Spell: Target 1 Monster Card on your side of the field that has Pray Counter(s) on it and activate the targeted card. Aftewards, negate the effect(s) and place it in your Spell/Trap Card Zone in face-up position. Place 1 Pray Counter on a monster on the opponent's side of the field with of the same type as the targeted monster on your side of the field].

This card can target a monster on his field (With Prey Counter) and use it a decoy. Thus, Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is copied as a robotic duplicate. It's used to lure Gem Beast Topaz Tiger to his field. While Gem Beast Topaz Tiger is running after, robotic Gem Beast Amethyst Cat transforms into a net to capture it. Giese chuckles and tells Johan that he will let these stupid monsters give him finishing blow.

Giese plays the last card on his hand, [Substitute Pain ~ Migawari No Itami - Spell: For each card on your side of the field with Prey Counter(s) on it, inflict 400 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points]. Accordint to its effect, he can inflict damages equal to the number of monsters with Prey Counter on his field multiplied by 400 to Johan directly. There are three Gem Beast monsters captured in the nets or obtaining Prey Counters on Giese's field, so Johan has to receive damages equal to 1200 (400*3).

Giese acts like a real hunter, whipping him triple times. Johan falls onto his knees as his LP decreases to 600 (1800-1200). Giese laughs with pleasure that it should be Johan's wish to receive damages in place of his Gem Beasts. Johan gets angry and looks at Giese with mad face. Giese asks whether Johan wants to get on. He takes out Jerry Beans Man card and prepares to rip it off again. The spirit of Jerry Beans Man groans with scare, making Johan unable to do anything. Giese doesn't understand why Johan has to contribute himself to this kind of monster. He just enjoys to hear unbearable sound from its agony of death.

Giese is about to rip it off again, so Johan yells to stop him. If that's the case, Giese thinks Johan has to choose whether to save Jerry Beans Man or Gem Beast Sapphire Gegasus. If Giese was Johan, he certainly would choose to save Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus because Jerry Beans Man is the card of other person. Although Johan abandons it here, nobody can see. Judai is now hiding, watching the duel, and listening to the conversation. He wonders about how Johan is going to respond.

Johan replies that he can't do so. The spirits give him the purpose of duel to become the bridge between them and human beings. They let him know this responsibility. Judai is thinking about Johan's goal of being the bridge between spirits and human beings. He notices a ladder nearby and decides to climb up. Johan sneaks through the ceiling close to the middle position. Giese is enjoying torturing the spirit, suggesting Johan have little time to enjoy it as well. Because they have the ability to see spirits that nobody has, they should enjoy it as much as they want.

Jerry Beans Man groans and cries louder when Giese is playing with the card. Giese really enjoys it. He tells it to keep on crying and screaming, but nobody is coming to help. Johan feels very depressed since he doesn't know what he should do. It doesn't matter whether it's a miracle. Johan asks for the power to save spirits to be with him. Giese laughs out loud after seeing Johan praying for divine aid. Then, there is the voice from Judai from the top that if a person believes, something or miracle can happen.

Judai angrily swings himself on a rope from the top to kick and knock Giese. He finally saves Jerry Beans Man and catches the card into his hand. He then points his victory sign or two fingers towards Johan. The spirit of Jerry Beans Man also points its sword to Johan by the same action. Judai tells Johan to go on. It's time for Johan to show his miracle in response. Johan points the same sign and feels much stronger. Judai runs out off the duel area and passes behind Giese while telling Johan to beat up this coward quickly.

The game is continued on Johan's turn. He draws a card and gets Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus. He looks at the real spirit captured in the capsule before setting and calling to summon it. Nothing happens, and Giese begins to laugh out loud. Johan has a chance to reverse the game, but he calls the monster that is separate from its shell (card). Giese thinks that Johan should best understand that the spirit not residing in a card doesn't have any power.

Johan argues madly that cards aren't the cast-off skin or shell. They are the gate to call the spirits, and the key to open it is the heart with belief. Johan holds his punch before handing it out and calling Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus loudly. Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus captured in the capsule shines fiercely. Giese feels that something is going to happen.

[Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus ~ Hougyokujyuu Sapphire Pegasus - 4/1800/1200: When this card is Normal Summoned, Flip Summoned, or Special Summoned successfully, you can place 1 monster that includes Gem Beast in its card name from your hand, Deck, or Graveyard face-up in an open Spell/Trap Card Zone. When this card is destroyed, instead of sending it to the Graveyard, you can place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zones. When this card is in your Spell/Trap Card Zone it is treated as a Continuous Spell Card] finally breaks and shatters it out, flying onto Johan's field and staying in attack position. It says that the bond between it and Johan..

As Giese looks pretty shocked, Johan activates the special effect of Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus to call Gem Beast Ruby Carbuncle. The ability allows him to set up a Gem Beast monster, Gem Beast Ruby Carbuncle, in his spell/trap card zone. Johan then plays the spell card [To The Wings ~ Tsubasa No Moto Ni - Spell: You can only activate this card when a Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus is on your side of the field. Return all cards that include Gem Beast in their card names besides Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus to their owner's hands] from his hand by raising it up the air.

Gem Burst
Spell Card

Once this spell is played, Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus becomes active and all Gem Beasts are released from the nets. By the effect of To The Wings, all Jewel Beast monsters except for Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus can return to his hand. Johan eventually plays his last key spell card [Gem Burst - Spell: To activate this card, remove 1 copy of G-Force, E-Force, and M-Force in your Graveyard from play. After the activation of this card, activate the following effect after this card is sent to the Graveyard. You can place as many cards that include Gem Beast in their card names from your hand in your Spell & Trap Zones as possible. Inflict 500 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points for each Gem Beast in your Spell & Trap Card Zone].

According to its effect, removing G-Force, E-Force, and M-Force in the cemetery from play, Johan is allowed to place as many Gem Beast monster into his spell/trap card zones. Thus, he places five Gem Beasts - Amber Mammoth, Amethyst Cat, Emerald Turtle, Ruby Carbuncle, and Topaz Tiger which he has just got back on hand - and they transform into five gemstones. Also, 500 points for each gemstone can be inflicted to Giese directly. Johan says that Giese doesn't understand the hearts of spirits and he should learn pain of crime.

Each gemstone releases its energy that combines into a brilliant laser that strikes down Giese until his LP decreases to 0 (1300-500*5). Giese collapses on his back on the ground as Judai is running to congratulate Johan for the victory. Johan thanks Judai, but he looks exhausted and sweats. Giese looks at the ceiling and says that he used to have a spirit that understood each other. However, the card, which was his friend, was taken. He lost my friend, and his heart was hurt. He was unable to endure this pain of heart, so his mind was closed.

Johan is amazed by that Giese also has some similar experience. For Giese, there is no qualification to understand hearts and spirits in human beings. Johan is about to argue at the same his and Giese's Dis-Belts are activated. Their duel energy has been taken out. Judai holds Johan before he collapses. Giese feels that he is floating in darkness. Many small lights are moving closer to him and reveal their shapes of Gokipon, Treeborn Frog, Petite Angel, Thunder Kid, Key Mage, and Watapon inside the lights. They flow and cover him as Giese is screaming with scare.

Johan and Judai are surprised by seeing Giese's body glowing and finally disappearing. Johan becomes exhausted quickly and has strong breath. Judai is worried about him, but Johan tells him that he is fine. Johan tells Judai to help ending this kind of duel. Judai agrees and says that Professor Cobra is just next. This stupid thing should be stopped quickly.

At the same time, Professor Cobra is watching them throught the monitor. He chuckles and thinks that this is very perfect. By this, duel energy has been sufficient. He gets up and walks to the plasma container, talking to the real boss there to wake up. After looking up, Professor Cobra suddenly gets surprised. He runs over to his computer and sees something different from his expectation. He rubs his eyes because he has just realized that duel energy isn't sufficient. One greater energy is required, so Professor Cobra offers himself to do this last Dis-Duel.

Johan And I activate magic card from my hand!! [To The Side Of Wings]!! All the gathered gembeasts comes back to my hands!
Judai Cool!!
Johan Let's go, everyone!! Magic card, [GEM Burst]!! [G-Force] in graveyard! [E-Force]! [M-Force] are excluded from game! By this effect, many gembeasts as possible are set in trap/magic zone! And per one gembeast, inflict 500 damage! Recieve the pain from crime of not knowing a spirit's mind! Fifth Gem Burst!
Judai You won, Johan!!
Johan Thanks. Judai...
Prof. Cobra Huhuhuhu~~ Perfect. By this, duel energy is enough. Now~ open your eyes. And... What? No way!! Greater duel energy than expectation is needed? I'm keep getting surprised by the one who even goes beyond my calculations. Nice!! Then the last battle is!! With my hands!

to be continued...

Sho Big Brother! It's good that you are safe.
Judai I am sorry to make you worry, Sho. But we can't relax yet. We have to hurry! Otherwise, we can't stop Cobra's plan!
Sho Ah, the doors are closing one after another.
Judai Run, Sho! Cobra is certainly next!
Sho Next Time! [A Decisive Battle! Judai VS Professor Cobra]!!
Judai Let's make a conclusion, Cobra!
