episode 115 summarized by Janime

Previously, Judai dueled Professor Satou. It was such an intense duel that both of them finally burnt in flame and collapsed after their duel energy had been taken by Dis-Belts. At the small waterfall where Jim saved Asuka from the pit trap, he asks whether she is okay (Again, Jim calls Asuka "Tomorrow Girl" because "Asu" in her name means "Tomorrow"). Asuka looks exhaused. She says weakly that she is fine and thanks Jim for helping her. Kenzan is then relieved to hear that.

Suddenly, Kenzan's eyes flash and turn into dinosaur pupils at the same time Karen begins to roar. Both of them roar loudly as Jim is turning back quickly to see what is happening. He doubts whether the electromagnatic wave is affecting them. Kenzan then claps his face by his both hands to knock himself down while Karem smacks herself by her tail. Asuka is worried about whether they will be fine. Karen and Kenzan eventually get up and look fine in their normal sense.

Jim congratulates them that they could overcome it, showing his thumb with the words "Nice Guts!". At this moment, Kenzan feels that something might be happening to his Big Brother Judai (If the electromagnatic wave is high, it shows that Dis-Belt is working to absorb somebody's duel energy. Kenzan feels that the person may be Judai).

Meanwhile, Amon equipped with a monitoring tool on his eye is crawling in the vent. He notices Dis-Duel energy going higher. This tells him that he should hurry to finish his operation. He then keeps on moving forward through the vent. Down pass through the entrance of the building to another pit trap. O'Brien is looking for other way out besides the top part where he fell down. There should be somewhere he can break through easily. He looks around as calling Professor Cobra that the will show that he will be able to get out. Professor Cobra is now at the main operation room. He is very impressed by the duel energy of Judai, which is the best of the others. He turns to watch duel plasma in the container, thinking just about waiting a little bit more.

At Duel Academis, many injuried students are in line to the medical room. Because the overload number of the injuried people, Professor Chronos has to help Teacher Ayukawa to treat the students. He is offering a student an ice bolster. He tells him to hold it quickly because it's cold, turning to offer towels and sheets to other students. There are many students in line and they are leaning against the wall with exhaust. They have to wait because all teachers are busy with other students.

Teacher Ayukawa is writing down the report of Ra Yellow student. He has worn off since he did Dis-Duel. She suggests him go back to his room and have a rest. The student accepts her words weakly. Teacher Ayukawa actully feels sorry to the student as he is walking out. The medical room is too small for him to stay, so she has to let him go back to his room. Seeing the student leaving, Professor Chronos tells him to take care of himself.

Seeing the large number of students like this, Teacher Ayukawa asks Professor Chronos for her idea. She suggests to move the students with very serious injury and wound to stay at Obelisk Blue with well-ready and equipped facility. For the other students with less injury, she suggests them wait in an open area. Professor Chronos thinks that it's such a great idea, so he plans to inform the students quickly about this.

Vice Principal Napoleon steps in and says there is no need to call now. The rescue arrangement has already been down there. Now, the students in the lobby are also thinking about moving to Obelisk Blue dorm. Vice Principal Napoleon would like Teacher Ayukawa to go there and escort them. Teacher Ayukawa replies that she will do it immediately. She tells the students to move to Obelisk Blue dorm while holding a Ra Yellow student and leaving the medical room.

Professor Chronos smiles to Vice Principal Napoleon, admiring that Vice Principal Napoleon's action is very fast. Vice Principal Napoleon turns back and whispers that there is actually a problem now. He could just contact Principal Samejima and he said to stop Dis-Duel and try to protect the students safely. Professor Chronos feels relieved. This means the number of victims will no longer increase, and there is also no more worry.

Vice Principal Napoleon doesn't think so. The leader of this even, Professor Cobra, is still free, and he still can't contact Judai and his friends going after him. Professor Chronos doubts what it is about. Vice Principal Napoleon hadns over Professor Chronos his PDA. Because of the high electromagnatic wave, PDA can't be used. When Vice Principal Napoleon opens is, there is no signal and nothing shown on screen. Professor Chronos utters while hoping that everybody will be safe. Vice Principal Napoleon also hopes that everyone is doing fine. They say while standing in front of the medical room and watching the students leaving for Obelisk Blue dorm.

Judai is alone in darkness. He looks confused and stands in pale as thinking of Professor Satou's words. Judai hears Professor Satou's voice telling him that Judai will understand one day why he has been dueling for. For Professor Satou, I had never dueled for himself not even once. He seemed to hint Judai that Judai actualy dueled for something rather than himself. Then, Judai is waken up from his dark dream by Johan's voice.

Judai opens his eyes and sees Johan in front. Johan feels relieved to see Judai gain his consciousness. Judai looks a bit confused as looking around. He is leaning the wall by the open door, finally recognizing that he has just dueled Professor Satou. Seeing only Johan, Judai asks whether Johan hasn't been with Sho. Johan tells him that Sho is getting worried terribly about him and going to find some water.

After hearing that Sho is fine, Judai turns to talk about Professor Cobra who is behind the open door. He really gets mad at Professor Cobra while reminding himself of the duel with Professor Satou. During the duel, Professor Cobra appeared by virtual system and told Judai to had better only provide him duel energy. Judai can feel that Professor Cobra is planning for something. There should be a trouble if nobody can stop him quickly. Finishing his words, Judai tries to get up. However, he seems so weak that he collapses again.

Johan holds Judai down gently before telling him to take a rest. It is impossible for Judai to go on by this weak body, so he should have a rest here. In any emergency case, Johan volunteers to sub for Judai. He grins while raising his duel disk up to show his confidence. Judai smiles and feels relieved. He then turns to ask Johan seriously whether Johan knows what for he has been dueling. Johan looks obviously stunned by such a sudden question.

Judai explains that he thinks he has been dueling for fun despite the face that he seems uncertain. Johan sees Judai looking weired, asking what's up with him. Judai apologizes Johan by asking suddenly. Something has just came to his mind. He says while playing with his hair. Johan holds his arms and looks at Judai before giving him his answer. He says that he also has a duel objective. Judai becomes excited shortly, turning to ask what that objective is. Johan doesn't mind telling him, but Judai must not tell anybody about it. Judai gives Johan his words that he won't, so Johan begins his story.

Johan Judai! Judai! Judai! Thank goodness. So you're conscious, are you? Judai.
Judai J-Johan...We're...That's right...I was facing Professor Satou...Huh? You didn't come with Sho?
Johan I did. He's getting some water. He was awfully worried about you.
Judai I see. Feh...Cobra...Cobra's beyond that door. I have a feeling Cobra's planning something. If we don't hurry to stop, ...
Johan Judai! You're not in good enough shape to do that yet! Take a little rest. If push comes to shove, I'll sub in for you!
Judai Johan...what is it you duel for?
Johan Huh?
Judai I do for fun...well...sometimes to be surprised and sometimes to be happy...All in all, I wonder if I do it for fun. Sorry for posing you that question all of the sudden.
Johan What's up with you, Judai?
Judai Something, I guess...
Johan I have the perfect objective...
Judai Huh? Really? Johan, what's your objective?
Johan Don't tell anyone.
Judai Sure.

Once, Johan was walking along a street in a city. He came across the spirit of Jerry Beans Man floating sadly in the air underneath an archway. The spirit said "Mi" repeatedly. Johan doubted what for this spirit had been dueling here. The spirit of Jerry Beans Man finally flew away, so Johan decided to follow it. On the other side of the archway, Johan saw a young boy collapsing along with his cards scattered around. He held the boy up and tried to wake him.

The boy, [Tom], finally got up and said that his card, [Jerry Beams Man - 3/1750/0], had been taken by a mysteriously big and scary man. He was forced to duel by an anti-card rule and defeated. As a result, his meaningful friend, Jerry Beans Man card, was taken. Johan understood the situation and comforted Tom that Jerry Beans Man also thought of Tom as a friend. He had just seen the spirit of Jerry Beans Man helping him. Although Tom couldn't see the spirit, Jerry Beans Man would come back if Tom believed in it. Tom smiled and felt relieved by Johan's words. After this, Johan has relized that people can create heartful bond with spirits even though they can't see them. Thus, he, the one able to see spirits, does this job for people. Judai seems a bit amazed by Johan's story.

Johan It was before I got to know the Jewelbeasts...I met with Tom... A...Jerry Beans Man? Why is a spirit out here...?
Judai A kid?
Johan Yeah. Are you okay? What in the world happened?
Tom My Jerry Beans Man...My Jerry Beans Man card got taken from me.
Johan Huh?
Tom He forced me into a duel right away...and, all of the sudden he said the ante rule was in place if I lose.
Johan Who was he?
Tom He was big and scary, but I fought him! But, Jerry Beans Man is my dearest of dear friends...
Johan (Then that Jerry Beans Man was used as an ante bet card.) Yeah, Jerry Beans Man thinks of you as a friend as well. I could see before...Jerry Beans Man's spirit helped you out.
Tom Jerry Beans Man's spirit...?
Johan His spirit exists, even if you can't see it. If you just believe, Jerry Beans Man will come back to you.
Tom Okay!
Johan It was then that I realized...Even if you don't have the power to see the spirits, you can still establish a heartful bond with a spirit. So, I do it for those people.
Judai Johan~

The discussion is then interrupted by the engine sound from the open door. Johan realizes that someone is behind the door, so he gets up to look inside. The spirit of Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus appears in front of him and tells him to be careful. Gem Beast Topaz Tiger also comes out. It doesn't know who is coming, but it will become his opponent. Gem Beast Topaz Tiger decides to strike, roaring and jumping out quickly. Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus sees a whip coming, so it pushes Gem Beast Topaz Tiger aside. The whip strikes Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus instead and electrifieds it. Johan calls his dear monster with concern as Judai gets up to see what's going on behind the door. Judai is surprised and doesn't understand the situation why the spirit was attacked by the whip.

In the front, there appears a mysterious man on a motorcycle. He launches an egg-shaped device to capture the spirit of Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus. The egg is hoocked to the motorcycle while the mysterious man prepares to take off. He says that the spirit hunting is going to start now, finally riding off with the spirit of Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus in the egg.

Johan is getting shocked by seeing his monster taken away. He tells Gem Beast Topaz Tiger to come back and tells Judai to wait him here. Johan begins to run off, following the mysterious taking his monster. Judai tells Johan to wait because he would like to go with him. However, he is too weak to go after him and collapses against the wall. Judai calls Johan out loud as seeing him running away. He is worried about Johan and feels sad that he can't follow. Finally, Judai collapses at the door and loses his consciousness.

Johan is following the mysterious man to a windowless and dark room. The mysterious man stops the engine of his motorcycle and greets Johan that he has waited to see Johan of Gem Beasts. Johan is surprised by that the man knows him, asking who the man is. The man removes his helmet and replies that he certainly knows Johan because Johan is a famous person. He introduces himself [Giese Hunter].

Meanwhile, the egg containing the spirit of Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus launches some cable string to attach to the floor and ceiling, suspending Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus in the air. Johan is concerned by whether his monster will be fine. He asks what Giese intends to do. Since Giese seems able to see spirits, Johan even wonders why he has to do this. Giese says that Johan received Gem Beasts along with that card. Johan doubts which card Giese is refering to. Giese doesn't answer and begins to walk in.

Giese challenges Johan to duel. If Johan can't defeat him, he can't take Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus back. Johan can't forgive what Giese has done. He sets up his duel disk and says that he will beat Giese to save Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus. That's what Giese wants, and he also stands by his duel disk. When both of them are ready, the duel begins.

First turn is with Giese. Drawing a card, Giese summons [Lure Phantom - 1/0/0: When an opponent's monster attacks, you can return this card and the opponent's attacking monster to their owner's respective hands] onto the field in defense position. Setting up three face-down cards, he ends his turn.

The turn comes to Johan. He draws a card and summons [Gem Beast Amethyst Cat ~ Hougyokujyuu Amethyst Cat - 3/1200/?: When this card is destroyed, instead of sending it to the Graveyard, you can place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zones. When this card is in your Spell/Trap Card Zone it is treated as a Continuous Spell Card. In addition, by decreasing this card's ATK by half, this card can attack your opponent's Life Points directly] onto the field in attack position.

He activates the special ability of Gem Beast Amethyst Cat, reducing its attack points by half to let it attack the opponent directly. Thus, the attack points of Gem Beast Amethyst Cat decrease to 600 (1200/2). Gem Beast Amethyst Cat then jumps up to attack Giese quickly. At this moment, Giese activates the special effect of Lure Phantom. When Johan's monster attackes, he can return Lure Phantom to his hand and the attacking monster, Gem Beast Amethyst Cat, to Johan's hand.

As a whole, Lure Phantom's arms are fired out to catch a leg of Gem Beast Amethyst Cat and throw it back to Johan. Thus, the attack of Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is automatically negated. Lure Phantom is returned to Giese's hand while Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is supposed to return to Johan's hand. Johan opens his arms and prepares to receive his monster back.

At this moment, Giese opens his face-down trap card [Hunting Net - Counter Trap: You can activate this card when a Monster Card on the field returns to a player's hand. That card does not return to the hand, its effect is negated and it is placed face-up in your Spell/Trap Zone. After, place 1 Prey Counter on that card]. A net is launched to catch Gem Beast Amethyst Cat before it reaches Johan's hand. Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is captured in the net and dragged away from him.

Johan calls out to his Gem Beast Amethyst Cat as she cries out his name. Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is trapped into Hunting Net and placed onto Giese's field. She paws at the net binding her. Giese explains that Hunting Net is the card to take a monster returning to a player's hand. Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is like a cheap prize placed in his disk. Thus, she is unable to return to Johan's hand but remains on Giese's field (It's actually placed in Giese's spell/trap card zone following Hunting Net's effect). Johan can't do nothing else. Setting up face-down cards, he ends his turn.

The turn moves back to Giese. He draws a card and again summons Lure Phantom, which he has just got back from the previous play, onto the field in defense position. Johan tells Gem Beast Amethyst Cat to wait for him, and he will help her soon. Giese asks whether Johan really wants to help Gem Beast Amethyst Cat. Johan replies that he certainly will. If that's the case, Giese is willing to hand it over him.

Giese then plays the spell card [Dark Auction ~ Dark Auction - Spell: A monster with Prey Counter(s) on it can be returned to your opponent's hand. Inflict damage to your oppoent's Life Points equal to that monster's ATK]. He explains that it's the spell card that allows him to hand over the cheap prize, Gem Beast Amethyst Cat, back to the Johan, Johan has to pay his LP in exchange. Johan replies that it's very cheap since he can do everything to get his friend back.

Johan has to receive the damages equal to the attack points of the returning monster, Gem Beast Amethyst Cat. Therefore, his LP decreases to 2800 (4000-1200). Giese then releases the dear cat from the net. Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is running back to Johan as apologizing him because Johan has to lose his LP for her.

At this moment, Giese again activates another face-down trap card, Hunting Net, to capture Gem Beast Amethyst Cat and snare her back to his field. Gem Beast Amethyst Cat calls sadly for Johan. Giese chuckles with pleasure before setting up a face-down card and ending his turn.

Johan holds his fist with anger. Once the turn comes to him, he draws a card with serious face. Then, he notices Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus looking weird in the egg container. Giese is afraid that he hasn't explained anything yet. He smirks before clicking a button on his whip to raise another container capturing [Gokipon - 2/800/800: When this card is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard, add 1 Insect-Type monster with an ATK of 1500 or less from your Deck to your hand].

Gokipon
Monster Card

Giese explains that this is such a wonderful capsule isolating and imprisoning capricious spirits. Johan is getting mad by seeing that Giese even captures other spirits. Giese feels sorry to Johan that no spirit can live easily in this capsule. The air of the spirit world is necessary for the spirit that is isolated from its card. Gokipon is weakened as Johan can notice Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus suffering in the egg capsule. Gokipon struggles to breathe before it finally glows and shatters.

Johan apparents gets angry at Giese's act to the monster spirit. Giese asks whether it isn't interesting. The torment of spirits is the best for him. Next is the turn of Gem Beast Sapphire Pegasus. Giese doubts for how long it can stand. It may be 15 or 30 minites. Johan's hand is trembling in fury. He declares that only Giese whom he can't forgive for this act. He looks at his card before summoning [Gem Beast Amber Mammoth ~ Hougyokujyuu Amber Mammoth - 4/1700/1600: {When this card is destroyed, instead of sending it to the Graveyard, you can place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zones. When this card is in your Spell/Trap Card Zone it is treated as a Continuous Spell Card.} In addition, when a monster that includes Gem Beast in its card name on your side of the field is targeted for an attack, you can change the attack target of that attack to this card] onto the field in attack position.

Capture Trap
Trap Card

Gem Beast Amber Mammoth runs in quickly for the strike. Giese once opens his face-down trap card [Capture Trap ~ Ikedori No Wana - Trap: You can only activate this card when there is a card on your side of the field with Prey Counter(s) placed on it. Negate the opponent's attacking monster's attack and place that card face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zone with its effect negated. After, Place 1 Prey Counter on that card]. Once this card is activated, the net holding Gem Beast Amethyst Cat is pulled to the front. Gem Beast Amber Mammoth runs into the net, and there appears a flash of light.

Gem Beast Amber Mammoth is now trapped and hung in another hunting net, having suspended over the field. Johan sees that he has just fallen into another trap. Giese explains the ability of this good trap to take a cheap prize in hand. Actually, this trap's effect allows him to negate Gem Beast Amber Mammoth's attack and brings it back onto his field in spell or trap card zone. Giese further explains that, in the real hunting, he has to predict the movement of weak or inferior animals and lead them to traps. He seems to be an expert of using traps for hunting while laughing out loud for his advantage. Johan can't argue but just stares with anger.

On the other side, Sho is running and holding some water in a leaf. He calls for Judai to wait for him, and he is going to bring back some water soon. Then, red glowing eyes with roaring sound in a front bush stops his moving. Sho wonders what it is. There appears Karen jumping out, and Sho cries out loud. Karen is snapping Sho's butt, making him run around and scream.

Asuka, Kenzan, and Jim appear as Asuka asks whether Sho is there. Sho is very happy to see everybody. Kenzan asks what Sho is doing here. Jim tells Karen to leave her bite while taking her out off Sho's butt. Kenzan asks Sho whether Judai is fine and what is happening to him. Sho looks at water sadly. He is afraid to tell the truth what actually happened to Judai.

The turn is now with Giese. Drawing a card, he gives Lure Phantom as a tribute to summon [Hell Gundog - 5/1000/500: When this card inflicts Battle Damage on your opponent, randomly select 1 card in your opponent's hand and destroy that card. When this card is destroyed, you can Special Summon 1 card of the same name from your Deck or hand] onto the field in attack position.

There is no game, and this will become hunting. Giese says before declaring the direct attack of Hell Gundog to Johan. Although Johan is concerned by another trap card faced down on Giese's field, he decides to activate his faced-down trap card [G-Force - Trap: You can activate this card when an opponent's monster attacks. Select 1 monster that includes Gem Beast in its card name in your hand. An opponent's attacking monster and a monster in your hand with Gem Beast in its name will battle. (The monster with Gem Beast in your hand is treated as if it were in attack mode at this time.) The results of the battle and Damage Calculations are treated in the same way as a normal battle].

Trap Card

This trap card allows Hell Gundog to battle a Gem Beast monster on his hand. Thus, Johan decides to send [Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle ~ Hougyokujyuu Cobalt Eagle - 4/1400/800: Once per turn, you can return a card with Gem Beast in its name on your side of the field to the top of your deck. When this card is destroyed, instead of sending it to the Graveyard, place it face-up in your Spell/Trap Card Zone. When in your Spell/Trap Card Zone, treat it as a Continuous Spell Card.}] onto the field. Cobalt gem appears before shattering into Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle.

Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle says actively to leave this job for it. Giese doesn't think that it will be that easy. As Johan is worried, Giese opens his last faced-down trap card [Trap Jammer - Counter Trap: You can only activate this card when your opponent activates a Trap Card during the Battle Phase. Negate the activation of the Trap Card and destroy it]. It's the counter trap for Johan's trap card.

Giese realizes that Johan should understand its ability well without his explanation. Trap Jammer can negate the activation of Johan's card and destroy it. Thus, G-Force becomes invalid and is sent to the cemetery. Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle feels pity that he can't be in play before disappearing. Giese tells Johan to receive that strike of Hell Gundog. Hell Gundog slashes Johan by its claws, reducing Johan's LP to 1800 (2800-1000) and knocking him out.

Giese continues to activate the special effect of Hell Gundog. When it could successfully inflict damages to Johan, Giese can ramdomly select a card on Johan's hand and destroy it. Hell Gundog steps on Johan's left hand that is holding three remaining cards: Rare Value, Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle, and Gem Beast Emerald Turtle. It strikes those three cards, and Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle is randomly selected to be destroyed. Because it's the special Gem Beast, Gem Beast Cobalt Eagle can't be destroyed. It appears on the field in Cobalt gem form, remaining in Johan's spell or trap card zone.

Giese is very impressed by such an ability of Gem Beast. Although it's destroyed, it remains on the field instead of going to the cemetery. Even Rainbow Dragon can be summoned by sacrifices of all Gem Beast. Hearing the name Rainbow Dragon, Johan asks what else Giese knows about it. Giese says that he knows everything about it because he has also searched for it. Because Johan wants to know about it, so Giese reveals the truth that the place where Rainbow Dragon's litholograph exists is in the gap of the world. It's also where Rainbow Dragon was created. Johan is obviously surprised by such a fact.

Seeing Johan's reaction, Giese assumes that Johan isn't from the others. He needs Gem Beast in order to obtain Rainbow Dragon. Johan argues out loud that he is different. Giese says that the person who doesn't need ultimate power is weird. Rainbow Dragon costs many millions. He is sure that Johan really needs Rainbow Dragon badly. Johan argues again that he is different from Giese because he is bonded with Gem Beasts with friendship not power or money.

Giese doubts what Johan is talking about. He doesn't see that Johan is a special with ability to see monsters' spirits because he is able to see spirits, too. If Johan thinks he can duel well, Giese expects him to win at a moment. Because Johan doesn't have anything special as a whole, Giese sees that he isn't different from him. Johan says that Giese doesn't know any single thing about him.

Meanwhile, Professor Cobra pacing by the plasma container. He thinks that Giese is doing such a great job. With Giese's dark mind, he is able to let Johan spend all of his power, and both of their duel energy will be all used up by keeping on fighting. He finishes by laughing out loug. Meanwhile, Judai is collapsing at the door. He is calling Johan's name and getting worried about him although he is losing his consciousness.

Giese This is...the Gem Beasts' ability! Even if they're destroyed, they remain on the field instead of going to the cemetery. Wonderful. Rainbow Dragon is summoned by sacrifices of these! Really great monster.
Johan Rainbow Dragon? What do you know about it!
Giese I know everything about it. I searched for information about Raibow Dragon with all the tricks I had. Are you in doubt? Then do you want me to tell you? The place where litholograph about Rainbow Dragon lies. It's the place where rainbow was created, the gap of the world.
Johan Gap of the world?
Giese Huhu~ It's same for you isn't it. Though you say other things, you got the Gem Beasts to obtain Rainbow Dragon right?
Johan No way!
Giese The one who doesn't want ultimate card is weird. How many millions will Rainbow Dragon cost? Even wouldn't you want it? You want to get Rainbow Dragon so badly right?
Johan No! Unlike you, we're bonded with relationships!! We're not like you!
Giese What do think you're saying? You just got Gem Beasts by luck? "I'm special 'cause I can see spirits". I can see spirits too. Then, is it because you can duel well? Then, can you say that when I'm winning right at the moment? Where is difference between you and me?
Johan You don't know anything. You don't know about a single thing!!

to be continued...

Judai Way to go! Johan! End this thing right quick!
Sho YThere isn't anyone who can sever the bonds between Johan and his Gem Beasts! Big Brother! You shouldn't be moving around yet! Next Time! [The Jewelbeasts VS Hell Gundog]!!
Judai That card Giese has...could it be Jerry Beans Man...?!
