episode 11 translated by Janime

The duel between Sho&Judai VS Labyrinth Brothers is continued. Judai and Sho are attacked strongly by Gate Guardian of Labyrinth Brothers until their tag-team LP goes down to 1700. At this mement, they don't have any monster left on their fields. On the other hand, Labyrinth Brothers have two monsters and 7000 LP remaining.

Misawa is getting concerned by Judai and Sho. They may not be able to win this game because they have just formed the tag team. Asuka agrees with Misawa. She sees that a tag duel, in fact, requries good combination between two partners. Although Judai and Sho have such great decks, they also need good cooperation. As a result, Asuka and Misawa think that this may be far enough for Judai and Sho. However, Hayato tried to cheer them up. He would like to see Judai's promise to win this game. Even Manjyome is enjoying the duel. He really wants to see Judai defeated by the legendary duelists. Judai has changed his life and also made Professor Chronos look down him and destroy his pride. Also, Professor Chronos is very happy when he sees the duel. He admires the legendary duelists, the duel king's opponents, and desires seeing Judai's defeat. At the same time, Principle Sameshima tells Professor Chronos not to judge anything since the game hasn't finished yet. Moreover, Judai and Sho haven't given up the duel yet. Looking at Judai, Professor Chronos is getting very amazed. Judai's eyes are still shining with hope and fighting spirit. Professor Chronos doesn't understand what that kind of feeling is.

Seeing through Judai's eyes, Labyrinth Brothers understand that he hasn't given up yet. Judai explains that he is a duelist, so he can't give up as long as his cards remain. If he was a duel king, he would say this. Suddenly, the spirit of Hane Kuriboh appears near Judai and agrees to what Judai said. Anyway, Labyrinth Brothers say that although Judai is still active, his partner (Sho) may feel different. Looking at Sho, Judai sees Sho getting disappointed and looking sad. Thus, he tells Sho to do their best. Also, there is a card to defeat Gate Guardian inside Sho's deck. Therefore, Sho is wondering what that card is gonna be.

In Judai's turn, Judai draws a card and summons [E-Hero Sparkman 4/1600/1400] in an attack position. After that, he equips a magic card [Spark Gun] with E-Hero Sparkman. By the ability of the magic card, a monster on the opponent's field is forced to change its position. Thus, Judai decides to change Gate Guardian's position into a defense position. Suddenly, E-Hero Sparkman shoots by Spark Gun to change Gate Guardian's position. When Gate Guardian changes its position, it maintains 3400 defense points. Misawa doesn't understand what Judai is planning to do. Although Judai could change the position of Gate Guardian, it will turn back to the attack position again in the next turn. Even Labyrinth Brothers don't understand Judai's play. Although Gate Guardian is in the defense position, it has such high defense points of 3400. Judai has no great monster to defeat it anyway. Furthermore, as long as Defense Wall remains on the field, it becomes the first target. In other words, if Judai don't destroy Defense Wall first, he can't reach Gate Guardian. Anyway, Judai sets up a reversed card, ending his turn clamly.

Drillroid
Monster Card

Next turn comes to Dox. Drawing a card, he sets up a reversed card and ends his turn. In fact, he leaves the rest on his brother Para. Thus, Para ascertains his younger brother that he will finish this game in the next turn. At this moment, turn comes to Sho. He is still getting worried by his bad performance. Then he looks at Judai and asks why Judai decided to choose Sho as a partner. Sho thinks that if Asuka was Judai's partner, this game would be better. Anyway, Judai asks whether Sho loves dueling. He sees how Sho really enjoys and loves the duel. Judai always shares the same feeling. When they dueled in their dorm, Sho usually laughed and played with fun. Judai would like to have fun in Duel Academy. Thus, he still belives that he and Sho will win this game. Listening to what Judai's said, Sho cries a bit. He reminds himself of his previous decision; he will not run away no matter what for his Big Brother who selected him as a partner. Then Sho thinks of Judai's previous words. Judai told him that there was a key card to defeat Gate Guardian in Sho's deck. Thus, Sho reminds himself of the previous practice duel with Judai in their dorm again. Seeing Sho's card, Judai would like to get to enhance his E-Hero Sparkman combo. Of course, Sho couldn't give it although that was his Big Brother's request. That card was very important to Sho. Looking at his deck, Sho hopes to get that key card in this draw. He prays to get this hope because he still wants to stay in this school with the others. There are many things that he wants to do in this school life. When ready, Sho draws a card. Certainly, he finally gets it. After that, he summons [Drillroid 4/1600] in an attack mode. By its effect, any monster in a defense mode must be destroyed when Drillroid attacks it. Nevertheless, the damage is still calculated normally. Then, Sho declares the attack of Drillroid against Gate Guardian at once. However, Defense Wall suddenly comes becomes the first target according to its effect. As a result of Drillroid's effect, Defense Wall with 2100 defense points is destroyed. Also, the damage of 500 (2100-1600) still deals normally to Judai's team. Consequently, Judai's team LP goens down to 1200 (1700-500).

Shield Crash
Magic Card

Manjyome is glad to see the result. Although the monster was destroyed, Judai's team couldn't avoid the damage. Labyrinth Brothers claims again that their combination is volunerable and perfect. There is no way to defeat Gate Guardian. However, Judai argues that there is no monster that can't be defeated in this worlf. By the way, Sho understood the effect of Defense Wall before. He hasn't started his real plan yet. After that, he plays a magic card [Shield Crash]. By its effect, Sho can select a monster in a defense mode on the field and then destroy it. Of course, Sho selects to destroy Gate Guardian. When Gate Guardian was destroyed, Judai repeats his words again that there is no monster that can't be defeated. At this moment, most people are all amazed by Judai's and Sho's great performance. Even Professor Chronos hardly believes that the drop-out students could defeat the great monster of the legendary duelists. Therefore, Principle Sameshima says that there is nothing strange because they are the students of this Duel Academy. On the other side, Daitokuchi teacher, looking from an audience seat, also admires Sho's play. However, he is still wondering whether the game would go on well like this.

summary - second period
episode 11 translated by Janime

The Tag Duel has been continued after Judai and Sho could defeat Gate Guardian perfectly. Setting a reversed card, Sho ends his turn. Sho leaves the rest work on Judai. Although Gate Guardian was destroyed, Labyrinth Brothers haven't been worried. They claim that their involunerable combination will start from now on.

Dark Guardian
Monster Card

Come to Para's turn. Drawing a card, he activates a magic card [Dark Element]. This card can be played only if Gate Guardian was sent into a graveyard. Paying a half of the player's LP, the player can summon specially Dark Guardian from his hand or deck. As a result, Para pays the tag-team LP until it goes down to 3500 (7000/2), he can summon [Dark Guardian - Yami No Shuugoshin 12/3800] onto the field. Para declares the attack of Dark Guardian against Drillroid at once. Everybody is very concerned by the situation now. If Judai's team gets this hit, his tag-team LP will go down to 0 (1200+1600-3800) and they will be defeated. At this moment, Judai opens his reversed trap card [Hero Barrier]. This card can be activated only if there is a Hero-type monster on the field. It can negate the attack of the opponent's monster. Thus, the attack of Dark Guardian becomes invalid. Although Para missed this attack, he isn't much concerned. Also, he claims that this powerful guardian can't be destroyed as a result of the battle. Meanwhile, Sho starts getting scared again. Even though he could destroy Gate Guardian, another greater monster was summoned. On the other side, Professor Chronos is glad to see the real game again while Principle Sameshima thinks that this should become very tough for Sho and Judai. Anyway, Judai tells Sho to get up. No matter what, Judai believes that their team must win and their hope hasn't gone yet. Thus, Sho decides to stand up and faces his opponents again. Labyrinth Brothers are amazed bit by that Sho hasn't given up yet.

E-Hero Tempest
Monster Card

Next turn comes to Judai. He draws a card and plays it, a magic card [Jar of Greed - Kou Yuku Na Tsubo] that allows him to draw additional two cards. Drawing two cards, Judai plays a field magic card [Fusion Gate]. While this card is on the field, the [Polymerization-Fusion-Yuukou] card is not needed to fuse monsters. Thus, Judai fuses E-Hero Sparkman on the field with [E-Hero Featherman 3/1000/1000] and [E-Hero Bubbleman 4/800/1200] on his hand into [E-Hero Tempest 2800]. Misawa notices that Judai hasn't given up his hope yet. However, Asuka sees that his monster still can't defeat Dark Guardian. Perhaps, he is planning for something. Similarly, Labyrinth Brothers see that E-Hero Tempest with 2800 isn't high enough to defeat Dark Guardian. Moreover, Dark Guardian can't be destroyed in the battle. Thus, they don't understand either what Judai is gonna do. Meanwhile, Judai plays another field magic card [Skycraper]. By its effect, it increases the attack points of each Hero-type monster by 1000 points. Accordingly, E-Hero Tempest's attack points go up to 3800 (2800+1000) equal to that of Dark Guardian. After that, Judai declares the attack of E-Hero Tempest, Chaos Tempest, against Dark Guardian immediately. Labyrinth Brothers remind him again that Dark Guardian can't be destroyed in the battle. If the attack points are equal, only Judai's monster will be destroyed. At this time, Judai asks Sho give him his reversed card. Using Sho's reversed card, Judai can activate the special ability of E-Hero Tempest; Sending a card on his field into the cemetery, E-Hero Tempest can't be destroyed in battle. In other words, E-Hero Tempest remains on the field, so does Dark Guardian. At this point, Manjyome sees that Judai do such a wasteful move. Even Asuka and the others don't understand either what Judai was doing; the attack means nothing since both monsters remain normally on the field. However, Ryo hopes that Sho will get the answer from this play. Then Judai ends his turn while Sho hasn't got any answer yet.

One to One Combat
Trap Card

Come to Dox's turn. Drawing a card, he opens his reversed trap card [One to One Combat - Ikiuchi]. Following its effect, in this battle phase, both sides must do battle by their strongest monsters. Thus, Dark Guardian (3800) once attacks E-Hero Tempest (3800). Repeatedly, Dark Guardian can't be destroyed in the battle, so only E-Hero Tempest is going to be destroyed. Judai has to discard a card on the field into his graveyard in order to maintain E-Hero Tempest on the field. Last turn, he used Sho's reversed card. Therefore, this turn, he used his own field magic card, sending Skycraper into his cemetery. When there is no Skycraper, E-Hero Tempest's attack points go down to the original points 2800 (3800-1000). Although E-Hero Tempest can remain on the field by its special effect, the damage 1000 (3800-2800) still deals directly to Judai's team. Thus, Judai's tag-team LP decreases to 200 (1200-1000). After that, Dox ends his turn. At this momebt, Labyrinth Brothers are very certain that the next turn should be the end of the game. Anyway, Sho is thinking whether Judai is trying to do something. Judai merely says that he leaves the rest on Sho.

The final turn comes to Sho. Sho seems very excited and looks at his deck. All people are also excited by this final move. Looking at Ryo on the audience stage, Sho reminds himself of the previous conversation between him and his brother. He told his brother that he would like to become a duelist, so would take the entrance exam of Duel Academy. Ryo didn't think to stop if Sho had already made up his mind. Anyway, he asked his younger brother whether Sho had prepared well for openning his road to become a duelist by using his own power. At this moment, Sho has made a decision. He would like to become a great duelist like his older brother. For that purpose, he hopes that he will his key card in this turn. Drawing a card, Sho finally gets it - the magic card [Power Bond]. Sacrificing Drillroid, Sho summons [UFOroid 5/1200] in an attack mode. Continuously, Sho plays the magic card Power Bond. This card is treated as Polymerization - Fusion - Card that works only with machine monsters. The fused monster will become a great monster with double attack points. As a result, Sho fused UFOroid with E-Hero Tempest of Judai into [UFOroid Fighter - 10/?/?: A Fusion Summon of this card can only be conducted with the above Fusion Material Monsters. The original ATK and DEF of this card become equal to the combined original ATK of the 2 Fusion Material Monsters you used for the Fusion Summon of this card]. The attack and defense points of this monster is equal to the combined points of two fused monsters. In other words, the attack points of E-Hero Tempest (2800) and UFOroid (1200) are added together to become 4000 (2800+1200) attack points of UFOroid Fighter.

Sho

(Brother) I would like to take the exam of Duel Academy. I would like to become a duelist.

Ryo

If you said that, I will not stop you. You have to open your road of the duelist by your own power. Have you prepared for that yet?

Sho

(I have been thinking about it seriously. I would like to become a duelist like my brother... in this school. For that purpose, please come! my card!)

UFOroid Fighter
Monster Card

Furthermore, by another effect of Power Bond, UFOroid Fighter can double its attack points. Finally, it has 8000 (4000*2) attack points in total. Labyrinth Brothers are getting shocked such high points. Sho has got the idea from previous play of Judai. Although Dark Guardian couldn't be destroyed in the battle, any damage can still deal directly to the player (Thus, Judai played the previous wasteful move to tell Sho about this). Sho declares the attack of UFOroid Fighter (8000) against Dark Guardian (3800). Again, although Dark Guardian wasn't destroyed in battle, the damage 4200 (8000-3800) deals directly to Labyrinth Brothers (3500). Therefore, they are finally defeated (3500-4200=0).

Hayato is very glad to see the victory of his friends. Misawa is also glad to see that Judai and Sho can remain in this school. Asuka asks why Misawa looks happy because his great rival still exits. Anyway, Misawa doesn't answer and asks back why Asuka looks happy, too. Since Asuka was the cause of this duel, she feels happy to see this ending. Certainly, Manjyome isn't pleased with the duel, walking out alone. Professor Chronos is getting shocked by that even the legendary duelists were still defeated. Daitokuchi teacher comes to look at him with his cat, Pharaoh. Professor Chronos looks very scared when he sees the cat because he really hates it. On the duel stage, Judai is very happy by this victory while Sho starts crying. Judai turns back and asks for the promise from the teachers. Principle Sameshima has already seen such a great duel. He keeps his promise to revoke the previous notice; Judai and Sho can remain in Duel Academy. As getting happy, Judai forgets to say his favorite words. He turns back to Labyrinth Brothers and says that he really enjoyed the duel. Also, he hopes to see them again. Seeing Judai become very active, Principle Sameshime would like to give him some homework with 30 page report. Of course, Daitokuchi teacher has to take care of this work. While Judai is getting tired of this homework, Sho looks up to see his brother, Ryo. He would like to tell his brother that he could do it. Also, he hopes that his brother will wait for him until he can reach his brother's level. Ryo smiles a bit. He hopes to see that day of Sho's accomplishment, too. Then Judai tells Sho to return to their dorm since there is a lot of work to do. Even though he won this duel, he still gets some tough homework. Meanwhile, Hayato comes down and feels glad with his friends. Also, many people on the audience stage starts clapping their hands for their victory.
