episode 100 summarized by Janime/Horoko

Previously, Edo dueled DD in episode 98 on his private cruise. DD summoned D-Hero Bloo-D, which Edo had searched for years. Red blood flew out with the appearance of this awful monster. D-Hero Bloo-D could absorb people's souls, and one of them was the soul of Edo's father. DD told Edo that he would let Edo see his dear father. He actually used Edo's father as a sheild to protect himself. Edo's father asked Edo to attack him and go to see Saiou. By doing this, Edo's time should begin to run on. Edo cried and yelled for his father before letting D-Hero Divine Guy strike and destroy D-Hero Bloo-D. The game ended by the defeat of DD and the explosion on the cruise. Edo was later saved by Principal Samejima on a helicopter.

The helicopter is flying back to Duel Academia. Principal Samejima asks what Edo was doing on the cruise. Edo holds his hands tightly and replies that he dueled the person who killed his father there. Principal Samejima obviously looks very surprised. Edo thinks that there actually is another person whom he has to make a conclusion with. He reminds himself of what his father said when he was dueling DD (episode 98). His father noted that the real light of ruin was actually another guy or Saiou Takuma.

Edo further remembers when he was young. When his father died, he was standing in front of his tomb under the rain. Saiou then stepped in and tried to comfort him. He believed that the rain would stop and the storm would pass some day. Thus, Edo's tear would also stop. Edo wondered for how long it would happen. Saiou replied gently that although he couldn't expect, he would hold and open his umbrella until that time came. The rain then stopped, the cloud was gone, and there appeared bright sunlight. Closing the umbrella, Saiou introduced himself to Edo and told him that he had come here to see Edo by the guide of destiny. Edo still looked at Saiou uncertainly.

Young Saiou The rain does not fall forever. No matter how strong the storm is, someday it stops. One day the tears will stop pouring as well. You should wait. The storm shall pass.
Young Edo For how long? How long should I wait?
Young Saiou I'm not sure. But in the meantime, I will hold open an umbrella. My name is Takuma Saiou. I was guided to come here by destiny.

Later, Saiou was predicting the future by his tarot in a room while Edo was sitting on the other side of the table. He opened a card, and Edo was curious what it was. Saiou explained that it was [The Heirophant], the fifth card of Major Arcana. In the upright position, it presented salvation, advice, or a person that does onto others. In other words, this Heirophant actually represented Edo. Edo became surprised and asked whom he saved if he was really a Heirophant. Saiou said that the one who was saved was himself. Edo actually did save him. Because Saiou could predict the future, so he could foresee his future destiny of ruin. He said while closing his eyes and opening another tarot card from the deck. He showed it to Edo that it was destruction, [The Devil]. In the upright position, it had negative meanings: wickedness, dishonesty, allure, and confinement. It represented that something bad was going to happen to him, but he didn't know what it would be. Edo was afraid that he was unable to save Saiou, but he would next time be the one who held a very big unbrella. He began to cried but tried to wipe out his tears and smiled.

Note: In sum, Saiou could predict since he was young that he would be possessed by evil and turn dark later. He knew that Edo was the saver for him, so he had gone to meet Edo. Therefore, [The Heirophant] represents Edo as a saver for Saiou, and [The Devil] represents future evil Saiou.

Young Edo What's this card?
Young Saiou The Heirophant. The fifth card of the Major Arcana. The Heirophant placed in its upright position refers to salvation, advice, or a person that does onto others. This Heirophant is you.
Young Edo Salvation? Who have I saved?
Young Saiou Me.
Young Edo You?
Young Saiou I have foreseen it...the destiny of my own future...The answer it lead me to was ruin. The Devil card in its normal position...wickedness, dishonesty, allure, confinement...these are its meanings. I don't know what kind of incident awaits...
Young Edo But...if I'm not able to stop you before you lay waste...next time I'll hold out an umbrella...a big, big umbrella....
Young Saiou Edo~

The helicopter is getting closer to Duel Academia. Edo wakes up from his day dreaming of his childhood period, thinking about the destruction that Saiou talked about. He sees the white drom in the front and tells the pilot to fly above there. Principal Samejima is stunned, and Edo explains that he must meet Saiou. Looking through a window of the white dorm, Edo sees the shadow of Saiou. It makes him become rush. He takes control the controller from the pilot and turns the helicopter closer to that window. Edo opens the helicopter's door, jumping down straight through the window without listening to Principal Samejima. Edo breaks the window and flips around many times before he lands safely in the room. It is dark and there is no shadow of Saiou anywhere. Principal Samejima asks whether Edo is fine. Edo tries not to listen and begins to run off for Saiou.

Ominously, a lightning bolt streaks from the sky and strikes the helicopter. The pilot loses the control and the propeller then hits the building. The helicopter finally crashes into nearby forest where Asuka, Judai, Sho, and Kenzan have been. People all see the crashing helicopter, and Judai tells everybody to hurry to see it. They see the helicopter hanging on a tree, and both pilot and Principal Samejima are safe. Asuka tells them that she is going to call the rescue team to help them soon. Principal Samejima tells them that he and the pilot are fine, but Edo is more important. Edo has already gone to see Saiou, so Principal Samejima is worried about him. People think that this should be pretty bad. Principal Samejima wonders what they mean by that and what is actually happening. Judai looks at his satellite key. He knows that Edo also has this key, so he's worried about Edo facing Saiou. Judai counts on Asuka taking care of here before he runs off for Edo. Sho and Kenzan then begin to run after him.

Edo is looking for Saiou in many rooms, but he still finds nobody. He walks into a room where Saiou usually sits here to predict the future. There is a face-up tarot card placed on the round-mirror table. It's [The Devil] that Saiou used to show him when they were young (It refers that Saiou has already turned evil). Edo looks straight and sees the light passing through a door. Once he touches the door, it is open automatically. There is a stair down to the underground room. Edo is certain that he will meet Saiou if he follows this path. He decides to walk down and eventually arrives a vast, wide, and beautiful white-blue hall. There is a large porcelain goddess statue in the middle of the wall, and it's like a goddess of light.

Edo finally meets Saiou who is standing in front of him and laughing. He asks whether there is something wrong. Saiou gives him apology for laughing before welcoming him to the private duel ring of Association of Light. Edo is getting very serious. He has come here because he has something to ask Saiou, showing him D-Hero Bloo-D that he takes out from his cloth. It's the ultimate D card that his father created. Edo asks whether Saiou can recoginze it. He also asks Saiou directly for the truth about the ruin light inside this card that killed his father. He even has heard that this ruin of light is currently inside Saiou. Edo really wants to know the truth, demanding Saiou for the answer. Saiou doesn't refuse and accepts that everything is his destiny. Edo demands for the explanation. Saiou tells that story that the light's the origin of everything. The light of ruin was also born from the universe. When the light exploded, a part of it flew into the earth. It moved straight to Industrial Illusion where Edo's father was working and moved into D-Hero Bloo-D. Edo's father was very surprised by seeing something going inside his card. After that, the tragedy happened to him (DD tried to steal D-Hero Bloo-D from Edo's father until the evil inside the card went into his body and its scary power finally killed Edo's father).

Saiou further says that DD later brought D-Hero Bloo-D to see him (episode 79). The guy who tried to cover his face as seeing Saiou at that time was actually DD. He was afraid of D-Hero Bloo-D's ruin power that might occur, so he brought it to let Saiou foresee. Mizuchi meanwhile was looking her brother and DD nearby. She could notice white-evil aura emerging from the card. Saiou's destiny has been set since then. The white aura entered his body and took control him. It told him to rebuild the current imperfect world. He has predicting power that people can't understand, so he believes that it will be able to presecute them with fear. He and Mizuchi faced a lot of disgrace when they were young, and it's because the world couldn't bring balance. As a result, he plans to return everything to 0 and pulls the trigger to destroy the whole world. Saiou declares while opening his arms wide. Edo hardly believes what he has seen and heard. Saiou seems to be out off control already.

The light started everything! The Light of Ruin was born from the universe itself. And then...the tragedic death of your father occured...Afterwards, DD came to me, a fortune teller, through you. He was afraid of the destruction the ruinous power the Bloo-D he took from your father could cause, and when I looked at the card...that was when my destiny was set! The Light of Ruin had entered my very being! The light has informed me...to rebuild this imperfect world! Oh, yes! When the ability that will project in this world goes beyond the comprehension of each human, it will persecute them with a loathing for irrational fear. When I was small, Mizuchi and I undertook many disgraces...humiliation...those are the things a world lacking balance brings about! I see...If there is such a world, it should be returned to zero. If a completely unified world is secured... For the new world! I shall destroy for it! I shall pull that trigger!

Saiou asks Edo whether it's such a wonderful plan. Edo thinks that it's just stupid. Whatever he always understands is that Saiou is merely afraid of his future-ruin destiny. This explains why Saiou decided to change it by choosing Edo, who is his saver or The Heirophant. Saiou tells him that he still has Yuki Judai. He didn't see that Edo could do anything for him. His destiny hasn't changed. After all, in front of many destinies, people are equal, so to change the destiny is well-behaved. Edo looks upset since he has never known good answer to give to Saiou's actual desire. It, therefore, really mortifies him. Edo holds his hand tightly and asks Saiou directly what else he can do for him. He wants to know what he should do to be good for Saiou. Edo says as falling onto his knees. He feels very sad when he realizes that he isn't the one who can help Saiou or the one whom Saiou actually wants. Tear is around his eyes, but Edo still looks at Saiou. The picture of Saiou when he was young and holding an umbrella appears in front of Edo. He remembered that he once talked to Saiou. Although Saiou was overtaken by a storm and couldn't go forward, Edo believed that he would be able to find him. He would be there and hold a very large umbrella for Saiou.

At this moment, Edo has just realized that there may be something he can do for Saiou. Saiou then tells Edo his desire. He has something he needs from Edo, and it's the key that Edo is obtaining. Edo looks up and sees the picture of young Saiou saying "For me!". Behind the picture is Saiou asking Edo to return the key for him. Edo has just remembered that he has a key while taking it out from his cloth. Saiou confirms again to let Edo return it to him. Edo holds it tightly and hesitates to do so. Meanwhile, Judai runs in, following by Sho and Kenzan. He tells Edo not to hand it to Saiou, shows his key, and explains that it's the key to activate the SORA-satellite laser. Edo looks very surprised by the fact that he has never heard while turning to look at Saiou seriously. Saiou seems irritated by that the truth was revealed by Judai while he was very close to get the key from Edo. People all look at Saiou and wonder how he is planning to do next.

In the forest, Teacher Ayukawa and Kabayama along with medical team are helping Principal Samejima and the pilot. Asuka looks at the white dorm where Judai has run toward, turning back to Principal Samejima what's going on. Principal Samejima says that Edo suddenly flew out from the helicopter. Anyway, the main point is that Edo intends to make a decisive conclusion with Saiou, and Judai along with his friends may also be in danger. Asuka turns to look at the white dorm again and claims that she believes in Judai.

At the duel ring of Association of Light, Edo looks at his key with his confused face while Judai tells him not to give it to Saiou and Saiou tells Edo to hand it to him. "For me, give me that key!", Saiou says repeatedly. Edo looks at Saiou, and there appears the picture of young Saiou again. He convinces Edo to do that for him. Edo feels annoyed, holds his key tightly, and asks who actually he is for Edo to do that for. Saiou wonders what Edo is talking about. "You are not Saiou. Where is real Saiou?", Edo declares confidently. Judai, Sho, and Kenzan obviously become surprised.

Saiou sees that Edo seems to have such good relationship with real Saiou, and he also wonders whether real Saiou has been. He says while white aura is emerging from his body. Edo asks directly who the hell Saiou actually is. Saiou tells Edo to call him the light of ruin. No matter what, Edo's destiny has already been determined for a long time. Edo insists that it hasn't because the key is still in his hand. Thus, he believes that the destiny can change. Saiou thinks that it's stupid and asks how it can happen. Edo stands by his duel for the answer, certianly the duel. He holds the key in front of Saiou and declares that he will bet by this key in this duel, throwing it onto the floor. It seems too late for Judai to stop him. Judai is very worried by Edo. Edo tells Judai that he just wants to keep promise that he has with real Saiou. Saiou did choose him, so he intends to help Saiou change the destruction destiny by winning this duel and bringing out the destiny. The key point is D-Hero Bloo-D. Edo looks at his deck as D-Hero Bloo-D picture appears behind him. Saiou smirks and declares that the destiny can't change. After he stands by his duel disk, both of them declare to start the duel.

Arcana Force III_The Empress
Monster Card

First turn comes to Saiou. He draws a card and gets Arcana Force III_The Empress. The cards on another hand are Arcana Force IV_The Emperor, Arcana Force VII_The Chariot, Necro Sacrifice, The Material Road, and a blank-white card. He looks happy by seeing that blank card before summoning [Arcana Force III_The Empress - 4/1300/1300: Toss 1 coin card is summoned. Depending on whether the toss is heads or tails, you aquire 1 of the following effects. 1) Heads: Each time a monster is Normal Summoned on your opponent's side of the field, you can Normal Summon 1 monster that includes Arcana Force in its name in your hand. 2) Tails: Each time a monster in Normal Summoned on your opponent's side of the field, send 1 card in your hand to the Graveyard] onto the field in attack position. Judai tells Edo be very careful of it. Edo accepts it by knocking his head.

Once, Arcana Force III_The Empress is summoned successfully onto the field, its card appears above it and turns clockwise. Saiou explains that Arcana Force monsters' effects can change along with their upright or reversed position. Thus, Edo has to declare the stop to determine the position and effect. When Edo stops it, Saiou tells him that now Edo doesn't have power to stop the flow of destiny. Thus, he helps him foresee that the card will stop at the upright position. As he said, the card finally stops at that position. According to the upright (head) effect of Arcana Force III_The Empress, when Edo can normally summon a monster, Saiou is allowed to normal summon an Arcana Force monster from his hand onto the field. Setting up a face-down card, Saiou ends his turn.

Judai looks at Edo with concern. If the situation becomes like this, he just hopes that Edo will win by any mean. The turn comes to Edo. Drawing a card, he summons [D-Hero Diamond Guy -4/1400/1600: While this card is face-up on your side of the field, once per turn you can look at the top card of your Deck. If the card is a Normal Spell Card, send it to the Graveyard and you can activate the Normal Spell Card during the Main Phase of your next turn. If the card is not a Normal Spell Card, place it on the bottom of your Deck] onto the field in defense position.

Arcana Force IV_The Emperor
Monster Card

At this moment, Saiou claims the upright effect of Arcana Force III_The Empress, summoning [Arcana Force IV_The Emperor - 4/1400/1400: Toss 1 coin card is summoned. Depending on whether the toss is heads or tails, you aquire 1 of the following effects. 1) Heads: Increase the ATK of face-up monsters on your side of the field that include Arcana Force in their names by 500 points. 2) Tails: Decrease the ATK of face-up monsters on your side of the field that include Arcana Force in their names by 500 points] from his hand onto the field in attack position.

Similarly, when Arcana Force IV_The Emperor is successfully summoned, its card appears above and turns clockwise. Saiou wonders whether Edo would like him to foresee the position of the card again. Edo is afraid that he doesn't need to know. Then, Arcana Force IV_The Emperor stops at the upright position. Saiou explains the effect that his Arcana Force monsters' attack points can increase by 500 points. Therefore, the attack points of Arcana Force IV_The Emperor and Arcana Force III_The Empress go up to 1900 (1400+500) and 1800 (1300+500) respectively. At this moment, Edo activates the special effect of D-Hero Diamond Guy. He have to first draw a card. If it's a magic card, he can place it into the cemetery to activate it in the next turn. Edo draws and gets Destiny Draw, so he puts it into the graveyard for the next activation. Setting up a face-down card, he ends his turn.

The turn is back with Saiou. He draws a card and summons [Arcana Force VII_The Chariot 4/1700/1700: Toss 1 coin card is summoned. Depending on whether the toss is heads or tails, you aquire 1 of the following effects. 1) Heads: When an opponent's monster is destroyed as a result of battle, you can Special Summon that monster to your side of the field. 2) Tails: When this card is destroyed as a result of battle, this card is Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field] onto the field in attack position. With the upright effect of Arcana Force IV_The Emperor, Arcana Force VII_The Chariot's attack points go up to 2200 (1700+500).

Again, the card of Arcana Force VII_The Chariot appears above and turns clockwise. It also again stops at the upright position. Saiou declares the attack of Arcana Force VII_The Chariot against D-Hero Diamond Guy immediately. When D-Hero Diamond Guy is destroyed, Edo opens his face-down trap card [Destiny Signal - Trap: You can only activate this card when a monster on your side of the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard as a result of battle. Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand or Deck that includes D-Hero in its name]. By its effect, when his monster, D-Hero Diamond Guy's destroyed in battle, he can summon a D-Hero monster, [D-Hero Defend Guy - 4/100/2700: If this card is face-up Defense Position during your opponent's Standby Phase, your opponent draws 1 card from his/her Deck], from his hand or deck onto the field in defense position.

At this timing, Saiou activates the upright effect of Arcana Force VII_The Chariot. When Arcana Force VII_The Chariot could destroy a monster in battle, the destroyed monster can be summoned onto Saiou's field. As a result, D-Hero Diamond Guy is summoned onto Saiou's field in attack position. Saiou ends his turn here (Although he has many monsters, none of them has higher attack points than defense points of D-Hero Defend Guy). People are all amazed by such monsters that Saiou could summon productively while only three turns have just passed. Judai can merely hope that Edo will try his best.

The fourth turn is with Edo. Once he draws a card, he activates the magic card, Destiny Draw, sent into his graveyard by the special effect of D-Hero Diamond Guy in the previous turn. Sending a D-Hero monster, D-Hero Dread Guy, into the graveyard, he can draw two new cards and get D-Fortune and D-Hero Dunk Guy. Edo decides to summon [D-Hero Dunk Guy - 4/1200/1700: For each monster that includes D-Hero in its card name from your hand that you send to the Graveyard, inflict 500 points of damage to your oppponent's Life Points] onto the field in defense position.

Meanwhile, Saiou again activates the special effect of Arcana Force III_The Empress. Once Edo successfully summons a monster onto the field, Saiou can normal summon a Arcana Force monster onto the field. Since this is considered a normal summon, Saiou has to give Arcana Force III_The Empress and D-Hero Diamond Guy for the tributes to normal summon [Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon - 7/2800/2800: Toss 1 coin card is summoned. Depending on whether the toss is heads or tails, you aquire 1 of the following effects. 1) Heads: You can Special Summon 1 Moon Token during your Standby Phase (Fairy-Type/LIGHT/1 Star/ATK 0/DEF 0) on your side of the field. 2) Tails: During your turn's End Phase, select 1 monster on your on side of the field, change control of that monster to your opponent. (If your opponent does not have a free Monster Card Zone, the selected monster is destroyed)] onto the field in attack position. According to the upright effect of Arcana Force IV_The Emperor, Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon's attack points are boosted up to 3300 (2800+500).

D-Hero Dunk Guy
Monster Card
Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon
Monster Card

Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon card appears above, turns clockwise, and finally stops at the upright position. Saiou claims its effect that he can special summon a Moon Token onto his field during each of his standby phases. Edo wonders whether the effects of Arcana Force III_The Empress and Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon are Saiou's strategy to summon a powerful monster. Saiou even plays Arcana Force IV_The Emperor to boost up the attack points of Arcana Force monster. Edo then decides to discard a D-Hero monster, D-Hero Disk Guy, into the graveyard to activate the special effect of D-Hero Dunk Guy. It can inflict direct damage of 500 points to Saiou for each D-Hero monster sent to the cemetery. Thus, Saiou's LP decreases to 3500 (4000-500). People are glad with Edo by his first successful attack. He had his monster inflict damages instead of striking. Anyway, Judai is still worried about him. Setting up a face-down card, Edo ends his turn.

The turn comes to Saiou. Once he draws a card, he activates the special effect of Edo's D-Hero Defend Guy. When D-Hero Defend Guy is in defense position in Saiou's standby phase, Saiou can draw another card. Once Saiou draws a new card, he activates the upright effect of Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon to summon a Moon Token onto the field. The bubble on Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon's chest bursts, dropping a a misshapen alien Moon Token with 0 attack and defense point. Saiou sacrifices Moon Token and Arcana Force VII_The Chariot, summoning [Arcana Force XXI_The World - 8/3100/3100: Toss 1 coin card is summoned. Depending on whether the toss is heads or tails, you aquire 1 of the following effects. 1) Heads: By sending 2 monsters on your side of the field to the Graveyard during your End Phase, your opponent must skip 1 turn. 2) Tails: Your opponent adds the top card of your opponent's Graveyard and adds it to his/her hand during your opponent's Draw Phase on his/her turn] onto the field in attack position.

Note: Review Saiou's Arcana strategy

As Edo said, Saiou's tactics sound simple but effective. He tries to produce many monsters on the field so that he can sacrifice them for stronger monsters.

1. He plays effects to increase the number of monsters on the field.

  • Arcana Force III_The Empress can increase the number of monster on the field whenever Edo summons a monster.
  • Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon can create Moon Token in every standby phase.

2. Once he can use monsters as tributes to summon stronger monsters, he increases their attack points by the effect of Arcana Force IV_The Emperor.

This combo seems effective if you can get all cards in upright position or head. Edo's monsters originally contain fewer attack points, so he has a chance only in the direct-attack effect.

By the upright effect of Arcana Force IV_The Emperor, Arcana Force XXI_The World's attack points go up to 3600 (3100+500). Judai sees such intensive summon and wonders whether this is the S card of Saiou. Arcana Force XXI_The World appears on top and again turns clockwise. Like other Arcana cards, it stops at the upright position. Saiou once declares the attacks of Arcana Force IV_The Emperor (1900 Atk) against D-Hero Dunk Guy (1700 Def) and Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon (3300 Atk) against D-Hero Defend Guy (2700 Def). Two defending monsters of Edo are totally destroyed. Judai thinks that the situation doesn't look good. Edo's field is all wiped out. At this chance, Saiou declares the direct attack of Arcana Force XXI_The World towards Edo.

Meanwhile, Edo activates his face-down trap card [D-Fortune - Counter Trap: You can only activate this card when an opponent's monster has attacked you directly. Remove 1 monster in your own Graveyard that includes D-Hero in its card name from the play and end the Battle Phase], which can be activated only if he is receiving direct attack. It allows him to remove a monster in the cemetery, D-Hero Dunk Guy, from the gave to end Saiou's battle phase.

Arcana Force XXI_The World
Monster Card
D-Fortune
Trap Card

Since this is supposed to the end phase of Saiou, he sends Arcana Force IV_The Emperor and Arcana Force XVIII_The Moon on the field into the graveyard to activate the upright effect of Arcana Force XXI_The World. Without Arcana Force IV_The Emperor, Arcana Force XXI_The World's attack points go down to its original points of 3100 (3600-500). As a result of Arcana Force XXI_The World's upright effect, Edo must skip one turn. In other words, Edo can't play, and the turn is still with Saiou.

Because Edo's turn is skipped, the new turn is still with Saiou. He draws a card in his standy phase, and tells Edo that the world has alredy been shut down. It's now the time for his world, and this is what the destiny is. Saiou finally repeats the direct attack of Arcana Force XXI_The World against Edo. Edo has nothing else to protect himself on the field, so he receives such direct hit. His LP dramatically decreases to 900 (4000-3100). Saiou smirks and has a peak towards his white-blank card on his hand. It's come quicker, his 23th Arcana card (There are only 22 Arcana cards in Tarot. This 23th Arcana card isn't related to the regular 22 Tarot cards). It will be the card to cover the whole darkness by the light and to drop down the curtain of the destiny.

Edo eventually falls onto his knees, surprising people very much. He looks very sad as watching Saiou. There appears the picture of young Edo holding big umbrella, running, and searching for Saiou. Edo would like to keep his promise that when Saiou has already turned into his destiny of destruction, Edo will be the one who holds large umbrella and save him. There is the sound of rainfall around the duel ring, but there is no sign of real Saiou at all.

to be continued...

Judai Edo is fighting the strongest Arcana [The World]. By this, he has to pull out and play [The Ultimate D] card.
Sho Next, [Edo, The Finishing Blow! (Bloo-D)]. It's good enough to defeat Saiou.
Judai, Sho Hurrah!!
Saiou Ha ha! [The World] is the strongest? It may be the strongest just now. Come on! Descend! The absolute invincible god of destruction that exceeds the strongest and the ultimate!
