episode 8 translated by Janime |
Walking
inside the building of the school, Judai is thinking about
what Asuka said before about Sho. In fact, Sho has a brother
studying in this school. His brother is the top duelist
among third-grade students and is named Kaiser. In the school
store, Judai is sitting and keeping on thinking about something
happenning between Sho and his brother. Because Judai doesn't
know anything, he would like to duel against Sho's brother
to figure out the truth. Then Professor Chronos just comes
in, seeing Judai writing something. He walks behind Judai,
takes out the paper that Judai is writing, and reads it.
Judai wrote his desire opponent on the paper. Professor
Chronos is amazed when he sees the name of Kaiser. Judai
asks for his paper back because he hasn't finished writing
yet. Professor Chronos looks down Judai and tells him that
it is 1,000,000 years too fast for drop-out Judai to duel
against the number of the Duel Academy, Marufuji Ryo. After
that, Professor Chronos tears out the paper while Judai
is getting shocked.
At
the Osiris Red dorm, Sho has been keeping himself quite
in his bed, looking at his sealed magic card Power Bond.
He feels very painful when he thinks of his brother's words.
Ryo told him that this card would be sealed until Sho was
worth to use it. Now, Sho thinks that he is not worth even
to become Judai's partner. He imagaines and dreams of what
is going to happen in the coming tag duel that he and Judai
have to become partners. His opponent may control Sho's
monster to attack Judai until Judai is defeated. Sho is
very afraid if he will hurt his big brother. Turning his
face toward his opponent, Sho sees an appearance of his
brother, Ryo, laughing. Suddenly, Sho gets up from his nightmare
with shock.
In
the wood, Hayato is making up his deck alone on a tree.
He has his last card [Death Koala]
on his hand that may not match and compete. Then Judai is
walking over there, getting mad by Professor Chronos' previous
behavior. Hayato accidently drops his cards onto Judai's
head. He almost falls down from the tree but he can catches
a brance in time. Judai turns up and sees Hayato, who is
hanging himself on the tree, looking like a Koala. He picks
up a dropped card and guesses that Hayato is trying a duel.
However, Hayato tries to say that it is merely a card fortune-telling.
Of course, Judai seemingly doesn't believe him at all. Then
Judai has just realized that he is in a hurry, starting
to turn back and continue running. Hayato asks where Judai
is heading for. Judai tells him that he is going to Obelisk
Blue to duel against Kaiser. Certainly, Hayato is very shocked
, he then falls down from the tree.
Certainly, Judai is kicked out from Obelisk Blue by students.
They think that it is very ridiculous that a drop-out boy
from Osiris Red dare challenge Kaiser for a duel. Also,
they throw water over Judai and laugh to chase him out.
Judai is getting angry while Hayato hiding and looking behind
has expected that this should exactly happen. In the evening,
Hayato and Judai are walking together back to their room.
Hayato tells Judai to give up. Nevertheless, Judai is still
stubborn. No matter what, he intends to duel against Kaiser.
When both of them enter their room, Judai sees Sho probably
sleeping on the bed. Judai thinks that Sho is acting like
Hayato (sleeping on the bed all the time). Thus, Hayato
gets mad and tells Judai to shut up. However, when Judai
opens the sheet, he doesn't see any appearance of Sho. Hayato
just sees a note from Sho on the table. Judai takes it and
reads at once.
 |
A
note from Sho
Sho is going to leave the island.
Don't try to stop me, Big Brother. Just good-bye to
this life. |
Judai is getting mad by that Sho intends to run away. Hayato
asks what they should do next. Judai tells him to look for
Sho immediately. Anyway, Hayato is uncertain because the
dinner has almost been ready. Therefore, Judai has to drag
him out to search for Sho around the island. They try to
call Sho to let him show up and move around edges along
the island. Hayato feels pity that the dinner may have already
been over. At the same time, Sho is preparing for leaving
the island by a raft. As Judai is still looking for Sho,
his deck starts shining, and Hane Kuriboh comes out and
hangs on his shoudler. Hayato feels that he hears the familiar
voice of "Kuri Kuri" again. Hane Kuriboh guides
Judai to follow it. Judai understands that Hane Kuriboh
is trying to tell him where Sho is, so he goes after it
at once.
Under
a lighthouse on a pier, Asuka walks to see Ryo standing
and looking into the sea. Ryo asks whether Asuka got anything
about her brother. Asuka is afraid to say that she got nothing.
Everything has passed normally through the wave without
any trace. Anyway, Ryo tells her not to be hurried. She
must be able to do it someday. Then Asuka changes the topic.
She tells Ryo about Sho's duel. Because of that, Judai is
now looking for Ryo for a duel. Ryo has just remembered
that Judai was a new candidate in the entrance exam. While
they are still talking, they hear some voice of Sho from
the other side. At this moment, Sho is getting scared when
he sees Judai chasing after him. Thus, he jumps on his raft
and trying to escape. Seeing that, Judai jumps over on the
raft. Suddenly, the raft is broken and both of them fall
into the water. Sho is screaming and asks for help because
he can't swim. He tries to hold himself with Judai until
both of them sink into the water. Hayato hurries to jump
after to save them, yet he finds that the water floor is
very shallow. Then Judai and Sho appear from the water safely.
Sho tries to tell Judai not to be worried about him and
finds a new partner. However, Judai has already decided
that his partner must be only Sho. Sho still refuses because
now he can not win at all.
Ryo |
Did
you catch up something? |
Asuka |
Um...there
is nothing changed in the whole day. Everything has
passed with nothing. My brother's trace has gone through
the wave. |
Ryo |
Don't
be hasty. You will...some day. |
Asuka |
I
got it. Anyway, did you see your younger brother's
duel...? |
Ryo |
Then
why...? |
Asuka |
I
don't want to say but about this...Yuki Judai has
been looking for you for a duel. |
Ryo |
Yuki
Judai. Ah! that new candidate in the exam. |
Asuka |
Why don't you try...Ryo? |
Then
Sho and Asuka appear over there. Sho is shocked to see his
brother. Judai has just first seen Kaiser by his own sight.
Ryo asks whether Sho intends to run away. Anyway, Sho hesitates
to answer. Thus, his brother says that it may be good for
him. Feeling upset, Sho turns back and cries. Judai is unpleased
with Ryo's act to his younger brother. Ryo says that he
can't help anything. Judai argues that at least Ryo should
have given farewell to the younger brother. Therefore, Judai
challenges Ryo for a duel and Ryo accepts it. As Sho feels
uncertain about Judai's decision, Judai tells Sho to merely
watch his duel carefully.

|
At the seaport in front of warehouses, the duel between
Judai and Ryo has finally begun. Sho is getting worried
because he causes this duel. Anyway, Judai still enjoys
the duel as usual. First turn comes to him. Drawing a card,
Judai summons [E-Hero Featherman 3/1000/1000]
in an attack mode. He sets up a reversed card and ends his
turn.
|
Cyber Dragon
Monster Card |
Come to Ryo's turn. He draws a card and summons
[Cyber Dragon 5/2100] in an
attack mode. Judai is getting surprised when he sees Ryo
summoning the strong monster without sacrification. Thus,
Ryo explains the special ability of Cyber Dragon. While
the opponent has some monster on the field while the player
doesn't, Cyber Dragon can be summoned without sacrification.
Getting worried a bit, Judai tries to accept this great
play. After that, Ryo plays a magic card [Mystical
Space Typhoon ~ Cyclone] that can destroy one magic
or trap card on the field. Of course, Ryo uses it destroy
Judai's reversed card. Then he declares the attack of Cyber
Dragon, Evolution Burst, against E-Hero Featherman. Therefore,
Judai's LP goes down to 2900 (4000+1000-2100). After that,
Ryo plays another magic card [Different
Dimension Capsule]. By its effect, Ryo has to select
a card from his deck and remove it from the game by putting
it into Different Dimension Capsule. The selected card will
be activated in the next two turns. Having placed into the
Different Dimension Capsule, Ryo's chosen card is disappeared
with it from the field. Although Judai doesn't understand
what kind of the favourite card Ryo selected from his deck,
he feels very excited. Anyway, only Sho can guess what that
card may be (Power Bond). Then Ryo ends his time.
Judai thinks that Kaiser (Ryo) is really great
as what people said. Merely in the first turn, Ryo could
set up all tactics for every movement. Entering his time,
Judai draws a card and plays [Polymerization-Yuukou]
to fuse [E-Hero Sparkman 4/1600/1400]
with [E-Hero Clayman 4/800/2000]
to [E-Hero Thunder Giant 6/2400].
He activates the special effect of E-Hero Thunder Giant
at once. When it is summoned, it can destroy a monster with
lower base attack points on the opponent's side of the field.
As a result, Cyber Drago is destroyed by this effect. When
Ryo has no monster left, Judai declares the attack of E-Hero
Thunder Giant against Ryo directly. Getting hit strongly,
Ryo's LP decreases to 1600 (4000-2400). Setting a reversed
card, Judai ends his time. Sho thinks that his Big Brother
(Judai) is also great. Anyway, he believes that his brother
hasn't shown up his real strength yet.
|
Cyber Twin
Dragon
Monster Card |
Turn comes to Ryo. He draws a card and gets
Cyber Dragon. Therefore, he activates its special ability
to summon it onto the field without sacrification again.
After that, he plays a magic card [Monster
Reborn-Shisha Sousei] to regenerate another Cyber
Dragon from his cemetery. When there are two Cyber Dragon
on the fields, Ryo uses [Polymerization-Yuukou]
to fuse them to [Cyber Twin Dragon
8/2800]. By its special effect, Cyber Twin Dragon
can do twice attacks in a battle phase. While Hayato is
getting amazed, Asuka explains that Judai will get the direct
hit in the second attack. Sho has realized that this is
his brother's dueling style. In order to win... no one can
beat it even Big Brother (Judai). Then Ryo declares the
attack of Cyber Twin Dragon, Evolution Twin Burst, against
E-Hero Thunder Giant. At this moment, Judai opens his reversed
trap card [A Hero Emerges - Hero Kensan].
When Ryo declares an attack, Ryo can select a card randomly
on Judai's hand. If the selected monster is a monster card,
Judai can summon it specially onto the field. There is only
one card left on Judai's hand and it is a monster card [Friendog
3/800/1200], so Judai can automatically summon it
onto the field in a defense mode. However, both E-Hero Thunder
Giant and Friendog are all destroyed by the twice attacks
of Cyber Twin Dragon. Thus, Judai's LP goes down to 2500
(2900+2400-2800). When Friendog is sent into graveyard,
Judai can activates its special effect. It allows Judai
to get back a [Polymerization-Yuukou]
card and a monster with [Elemental
Hero] in its name into his hand. Thus, Judai gets
Polymerization and E-Hero Clayman back. Then, Ryo ends his
time. At this moment, Judai tells Ryo that he gets excited
and enjoys this duel a lot. It is surprised that Ryo replies
Judai that he also feels the same. Sho is very amazed by
his brother's response to Judai.
|
E-Hero Mudballman
Monster Card |
Come to Judai's turn. Drawing a card, he gets
[E-Hero Bubbleman 4/800/1200]
and summons it into an attack mode. When this card is successfully
summoned, Judai can draw additional two cards from your
deck. This time, he gets his partner [Hane
Kuriboh 1/300/200] and [Wing
of Evolution - Shinkasuru Tsubasa]. Of course, he
plans to use Wing of Evolution so that Hane Kuriboh can
evolve itself as he did this play before against Manjyome.
When Hane Kuriboh evolve to Hane Kuriboh Level 10, it can
be sacrificed to destroy all of the opponent's monsters.
Then the total attack points of the destroyed monsters will
deal directly to the opponent. In other words, the total
attack points of Cyber Twin Dragon (2800) will deal directly
to Ryo (2600) and Judai will finally become the winner.
However, Judai can't summon Hane Kuriboh in this turn because
he has already summoned normally E-Hero Bubbleman. Thus,
he has to wait until next turn to summon Hane Kuriboh normally.
In order to handle Ryo's next attack, Judai plays Polymerization
again to fuse E-Hero Clayman on his hand with E-Hero Bubbleman
on the field to summon [E-Hero Mudballman]
with 3000 defense points specially in a defense mode. Hayato
is glad to see Judai's great play. He thinks that the twice
attacks of Cyber Twin Dragon (2800 points for each hit)
will be invalid against 3000 defense points. However, Sho
understands that the key card of his brother will be unsealed
in the next turn. Then Judai ends his time.
Return
to Ryo's move. When he draws a card, Different Dimension Capsule reappears
onto the field. Destroying Different Dimension Capsule when two turns after
this card was activated has passed, Ryo can get the sealed
card that has been removed from the game onto his hand. Ryo
tells Judai that this is supposed to be the final turn for
this duel. Although Judai doesn't understand what is going
to happen, he feels very excited. Seeing Judai's action, Ryo
accepts his best play. To pay back Judai's feeling. Ryo intends
to play by his best performance as well. At this moment, Ryo
really gives his respect to Judai's duel. Sho is very surprised
by that his brother admires Judai's play. Judai thinks that
Ryo may want to tell Sho those words. Sho has just realized
that his brother always cares his opponent in any duel. Perhaps,
Ryo would like to teach Sho how to give respect to his opponent
no matter what kind of the opponent is. Thus, Sho has already
understood by now how he previously behaved himself badly
against his opponent.
Ryo |
Judai,
this should be our final turn. |
Judai |
Ah,
I am getting excited by what is gonna happen. |
Ryo |
I
see that. You have played by your best. In return,
I will bring out all of my power. I give repect to
your duel. |
Sho |
(My
brother is approving the duel of Big Brother, isn't
he?) |
Judai |
(Kaiser, that sounds like you are
going to tell Sho those words.) |
|
Cyber End
Dragon
Monster Card |
Ryo continues his turn. Playing a magic card
[De-Fusion] to separeate Cyber
Twin Dragon into two Cyber Dragons, he plays [Power
Bond] from his hand. Of course, Power Bond was the
card previously sealed in Different Dimension Capsule. Ryo
explains that this card is treated as a Fusion magic card.
It only works for machine monsters. He fuses two Cyber Dragons
on the field with another Cyber Dragon on his hand to summon
[Cyber End Dragon 10/4000/2800].
By another special effect of Power Bond, the summoned fusion
monster can double its attack points. In other words, Cyber
End Dragon's attack points go up to 8000 (4000*2). In addition,
Ryo describes the special effect of Cyber End Dragon. When
it attacks a defending monster with lower defense points
than its attack points, it can deal damage equal to the
difference directly to the opponent. Hayato tries to cheer
Judai up to withstand this attack. By another effect of
Power Bond, it forces Ryo to deal damage equal to the original
attack points of the attacking monster to his own LP at
his end phase of the turn that he activated Power Bond.
To explain, if Judai can stand 8000 attack points of Cyber
End Dragon, Ryo has to deal 3000 original attack points
of Cyber End Dragon to himself (2600) at the end of this
turn following the effect of Power Bond. Then Judai will
win. Asuka thinks that the player usually has to take some
risk to play Power Bond. However, only Sho understands how
his brother is feeling. The risk isn't the problem for his
brother, but respect toward the opponent significantly matters.
From this point, Judai has already prepared for his coming
destiny with fighting spirit of a duelist. Ryo declares
the attack of Cyber End Dragon, Eternal Evolution Burst,
against E-Hero Mudballman. As a result, Judai's LP goes
down to 0 (2500+3000-8000).
People
are all surprised by that Judai was finally defeated. Sho
feels sorry to his Big Brother (Judai), running toward him.
Although Judai was defeated, he tries to keep himself up
and says his favourite words that he enjoyed the duel very
much; what a nice duel! Seeing Judai's response, Ryo smiles
a bit. He looks at Sho who has already changed his attitude
and grown up. While Ryo is walking back, Asuka follows him
and asks about the duel. Ryo thinks that Sho has such a
nice brother. Judai also shares the same feeling. He thinks
that Sho's brother is such a great man. He also tells Sho
to go back, and he will help Sho recreate his deck. Nevertheless,
this time, Sho agrees to unseal his Power Bond and use it.
By the way, Hayato tells his friends that the dinner has
already been sealed. Then people have just realized that
they are all hungry. Thus, Judai tells Sho and Hayato to
return to their dorm at once. Perhaps, they may be there
in time...
