At
a night under fullmoon, Asuka is standing in front of an
old building, an unused dorm. She puts down a rose under
the gate and looks at the dorm sadly. On the other side,
Sho, Judai, and Hayato are staying late at night in the
dinning room. On a table is a lightening candle, while Sho
is telling a ghost story. He says that there is a cave under
the cliff on this island. Inside the cave is a small ground
well. During night time, there is moonlight shining from
the ceiling of the cave onto the well. Meanwhile, Sho is
imagining himself in that situation. If he looks into the
water and thinks about a card that he desires, the card
will appears in the water. Sho thinks that he would like
to get Black Magician, so Black Magician card image reflects
from the water. When he hands over to pick up the card from
the water, a mysterious hand suddenly appers from the water
surface and then pulls him down into the water. Sho is trying
to scare Judai and Hayato by his frightening face. Of course,
he did. Hayato looks very scared and steps away from the
table; however, Judai enjoys and seems interested by the
Sho's story. He tells Sho that he would like to see that
ground well. Sho feels disappointed by Judai's act because
he couldn't successfully scare him at all. This is Sho's
level 4 ghost story. People are playing a game; they have
to tell ghost stories with level of scary based on level
of monsters they draw. Sho drew and got a level 4 monster,
so he told the story about a ghost in the ground water inside
the cave of this island.
Next
turn comes to Judai. He draws a card and gets level 1 [Killer
Snake]. Sho feels that Judai gets an easy job over
there. Then Judai starts telling a story happenning when
he was a child. He hoped that he could hear monsters' voice.
At a night time while Judai was sleeping in his room, he
heard some voice and saw some light coming out from another
side of the door. Thinking that the monsters were having
a party over there, Judai openned the door and entered.
It was his toy room and he found everything quiet normally.
After that, little Judai openned his card case to check
it. At this time, Sho and Hayato are paying attention seriously.
Nevertheless, Judai says that his story has ended here;
there was nothing special that he found. Indeed, Judai has
recently heard voice of Hane Kuriboh. Suddenly, Daitokuji-Sensei
(teacher) with his cat, Pharaoh, appears quietly and asks
what his students are doing. Most people especially Hayato
are frightened again. Sho tells Daitokuji-Sensei about the
game that people are playing. Feeling interested in the
game, Daitokuji-Sensei would like to join it. Thus, he draws
a card and gets level 12 [F.G.D].
That means Daitokuji-Sensei's story is supposed to be extremely
scary. Then, Sho tells him to start the story.
As
a result, Daitokuji-Sensei decides to talk a real story
about an unused dorm on this island. Previously, this dorm
was reserved for special honor students, and later some
students disappeared. Also, there was a rumor that some
people were doing a reseach about a shadow game over there.
Meanwhile, Hayato, who is staying away from the table, seems
attracted by the shadow game topic. Daitokuji-Sensei explains
that this awful game can be played when legendary millennium
items are activated. Anyway, Judai seems uncertain about
the millennium items, asking Daitokuji-Sensei whether they
are about superstition. However, even Daitokuji-Sensei can't
give him an answer about the truth of it. This dorm had
been closed when he started his job at this school. Then
Daitokuji-Sensei gets up, telling people for bed time before
he leaves the room. Sho is still wondering whether there
is really such a place like that on this island. Certainly,
Judai is very interested in and enjoys this story, inviting
Sho and Hayato go there tomorrow. Although Hayato is scared,
he agrees to go with Judai. Thus, Judai draws a conclusion
of this agreement immediately. No one has noticed that professor
Chronos is sneaking and listening to this conversation outside
a window. He is planning and thinking about something; drop-out
Judai may be disappeared by the shadow game.
On
the other side of a city in a small street, two men are
dueling against each other. A mysterious guy in black coat
and a mask becomes the winner, activating power [Mind
Crush] of a millennium puzzle against his opponent.
Finally, his opponent falls down on the ground while the
mysterious guy asks for his entire rare cards following
the game rule. Suddenly, a phone call rings. The mysterious
guy picks up his call, introducing himself to the speaker
that he is a shadow duelist (Yami No Duelist) named [Titan].
He seems to get a message about Duel Academy.
Next shining day in a class of Daitokuji-Sensei, Judai
and Sho are sleeping and snoring. Professor Chronos looks
at Judai through the class door. He hopes that Judai is
having a good sleep because this becomes his last nice dream.
At night, professor Chronos comes to meet a guy calling
himself the shadow duelist. Professor Chronos hires him
to duel against Judai. The deal is that he has to pay for
the shadow duelist equal to his 3 month salary. Anyway,
professor Chronos is worried whether everything will be
fine. Titan claims that he is a pro, so professor Chronos
can rely on him. Whatever professor Chronos should think
is just to give him the payment of the deal. Then Titan's
appearance starts moving back without letting professor
Chronos see his back at all. Professor Chronos understands
that this may be a professinal rule.
On
the other side, Judai, Hayato, and Sho have finally come
to explore the mysterious dorm. Hayato feels very interested
in the shadow game while Judai seems not to believe in this
kind of superstition. In front of the gate, Sho sees the
dorm look very scary, so he suggests Judai give up the exploration
plan. However, Judai tells him that they have come too far
to give up. Suddenly, a person steps on a piece of branch,
so Sho and Hayato are very frightened. They think that a
ghost finally appears. In fact, the ghost is an appearance
of Asuka. Judai is curious why Asuka is here, and vice versa.
He tells Asuka that he just comes for little exploration.
However, Asuka becomes very serious, warning people about
danger in this place. The story about this dorm isn't a
joke. Among people who disappeared here was his brother.
Asuka doesn't want to go on the conversation, telling people
to do what they wish. Judai has just realized that the rose
in front of the gate might be placed by Asuka, a message
to her lost brother.
Sho |
That
looks scary. Big Brother, let's give up! |
Judai |
What
are you talking about? You have already reached here,
so we can't give up. |
 Sho,
Hayato |
There
it come! |
Judai |
Asuka? |
Sho |
Asuka-San! |
Judai |
Why
is Asuka here? |
Asuka |
That
should be my words. What are you guys doing here? |
Judai |
Just
little exploration at night. |
Asuka |
Don't
you know about the rumor....students disappeared here? |
Judai |
I
don't believe that superstition at all. |
Asuka |
The
story about this dorm is true. It isn't a playground
for fun. Also, this place is limited. If the school
knows about this, what will happen next? |
Judai |
If
we are afraid of that, we can't do the exploration. |
Asuka |
Please
listen seriously! |
Judai |
What?
You become desperate. We would like to get your answer,
too. Why are you here? |
Asuka |
Do
as you wish. |
Sho |
Asuka-San |
Asuka |
Among
people who disappeared here was my brother. |
Judai |
(I see...that rose...Asuka...) |
Judai
and Hayato start going inside the dorm. Although Sho is
very scared, he doesn't to stay alone outside. Thus, he
is following his friends. At the same time, Asuka is facing
against the shadow duelist, Titan, who tries to capture
her. Inside the dorm, three of people have reached a main
hall with some pictures of the millennium items hanging
on the wall. Seeing them, Hayato is wondering whether the
rumor about the millennium items is true. Nevertheless,
Sho tries to argue that it was just superstition. Judai
looks at the pictures carefully, realizing that there are
seven millennium items. Turning his light to another side
of the wall, he sees a picture of a guy named [Tenjoin
Fubuki], Asuka's brother.
At this moment, Asuka gains her consciousness, finding
herself in a casket while her hands are tied up. Suddenly,
she hears voice of Titan. While she is still amazed, Titan
activates power of a shadow power from a millennium item
toward Asuka. Thus, Asuka screams so loud that Judai, Hayato,
and Sho can hear her voice. They start running following
the scream of Asuka. Reaching another room, Judai sees a
card on the floor. He picks it up and sees that it is Etoile
Cyber, Asuka's card. Hayato points to a secret way linking
to another side. Moving along the way and finally reaching
the exit, they see an unconscious body of Asuka in the casket.
Judai hears a voice stating that Asuka's soul is sinking
deeper into darkness. After that, Titan appears over there
and welcomes Yuki Judai, introducing himself as a shadow
duelist.
Judai |
Asuka! |
| Titan |
Hi

Judai |

are amazed by the shadow game that Titan has been talking

thing. He is asking for Asuka back. Anyway, Titan can comply
him only if Judai can beat him in the shadow game. Hayato
understands the situation well, taking out a duel disk and
sending it to Judai. When both sides standby their duel
disks, the duel begins. No matter what, Judai intends to
save Asuka by this game.

Inferno Queen
Demon
Monster Card |
First turn comes to Titan. Drawing a card,
he summons [Infernalqueen Archfiend 4/900/1500]
in an attack position. Seeing the first monster of Titan,
Judai has realized immediately that Titan is playing a demon
deck. By its special effect, as long as Infernalqueen Archfiend
remains on the field, a Demon monster can gain additional
1000 attack points. There is only one Demon monster, Inferno
Queen Demon, on the field now, so Infernalqueen Archfiend's
attack points go up to 1900 (900+1000). Judai argues that
although Demon deck is such a powerful deck, its advantage
is that the player has to pay his LP for the cost of remaining
his monsters on the field. However, Titan tells him that
the condition isn't always necessary if he plays a magic
card. Then he puts a field magic card [Pandemonium ]
into his duel disk and activates it. Suddenly, bright light
starts shining around while there are monster skulls appearing
around the field. Titan explains the effect of Pandemonium
that as long as this card remains on the field, paying LP
for the cost to remain Demon monster on the field isn't
required. In addition, if a Demon monster is destroyed other
than as a result of a battle and goes into the cemetery,
Titan can select a Demon monster with lower lever than that
card from his deck onto his hand. Then Titan ends his turn.
Seeing that Judai may pay attention only to Asuka, Titan
decides to close the casket and takes Asuka down away from
the battle field. Hayato and Sho claim that Titan is playing
such a dirty method. Anyway, Titan doesn't care at all because
this is the shadow game; a loser must disappears. Thus,
Titan can do anything to win. No matter what, Judai thinks
that he has to win.
Come to Judai's turn. He draws a card and
looks at 6 cards on his hand that are
[E-Hero
Featherman] - monster
[Holy Barrier Mirror Force]
- trap (2 cards)
[Hero Signal] - trap
[Emergency Tunnel Mirror Gate]
- trap
[Emergency Provision] - magic
Judai has realized that there is no monster
that can beat Infernalqueen Archfiend with 1900 attack points
on his hand now. However, he still summons [E-Hero
Featherman 3/1000/1000] in an attack mode. Setting
two reversed cards, Judai ends his turn.
|
Terrorking
Archfiend
Monster Card |
Turn is back to Titan. Drawing a card, he
summons [Terrorking Archfiend ~ Genocide
King Demon - 4/2000/1500] in an attack position.
This card can be summoned normally or specially only if
there is other Demon-type monsters remaining on the field.
Because Infernalqueen Archfiend has remained on the field,
Terrorking Archfiend could be summoned. Also, by the effect
of Infernalqueen Archfiend, a demon monster on the field
can gain additional 1000 attack points. Therefore, Titan
selects to increases the attack points of Genocide King
Demon; Terrorking Archfiend's attack points go up to 3000
(2000+1000). Titan declares the attack of Genocide King
Demon against E-Hero Featherman at once. Suddenly, Judai
opens his trap card [Dimension Tunnel
Mirror Gate - Ichigen Tunnel Mirror Gate] that can
switch control of the attacking and the attacked monster.
In other words, Terrorking Archfiend will belongs to Judai
while E-Hero Feather will belongs to Titan in this turn.
However, at the same time, Titan activates another ability
of Terrorking Archfiend. When this card is a target as a
result of an effect controlled by the opponent, Titan can
roll a six-sided die. If the result is a 2 or 5, that effect
of the oppoent is invalid. Meanwhile, there are six balls
with six numbers appearing from the field and floating onto
Titan's hand. Titan claims that the roulette of destiny
has already started. Then, a fire ball begins running around
the six balls. Hayato and Sho are very excited by the result.
If it becomes 2 or 5, the effect of Judai's Dimension Tunnel
Mirror Gate will be negated. Anyway, the fire ball stops
at 2 that means the trap effect is invalid. Thus, the attack
of Terrorking Archfiend (3000) still carries on and E-Hero
Featherman (1000) is finally destroyed. At this point, Judai's
LP goes down to 2000 (4000+1000-3000). After that, Judai
opens another reversed trap card card [Hero
Signal] that can be activated only if a monster was
destroyed as a result of the battle and sent to the cemetery.
It also allow the players to summon a monster with [Hero]
in its name from his deck. In other words, when E-Hero Featherman
was destroyed, Judai can summon another [Hero]
monster from his deck. Therefore, Judai selects to summon
[E-Hero Clayman 4/800/2000]
in a defense mode.
While
people are glad with Judai's play, Titan shows up a millennium
puzzle and activates its power. According to the rule of
the shadow game, Titan claims that some parts of the body
must be disappeared following the lost LP. Suddenly, a millennium
eye on the millennium puzzle starts glowing while some parts
of Judai's body are disappearing. Titan reminds Judai of
the shadow game again as Judai seems not to believe in it
yet. Due to the shadow power, Hayato and Sho also get some
effect. They are seemingly unable to breath and move normally
because of the intense pressure. Titan reminds people again
that they can't run away from this shadow game. However,
Judai hasn't believed in this kind of power yet. He realizes
that Titan may play some trick. In order to activate the
shadow power, an millennium item is neccessary. Thus, Titan
shows Judai his evidence, the legendary millennium puzzle,
that creates the shadow game. While people are still getting
amazed by the shadow power, Titan ends his turn. At this
moment, Judai is still wondering whether this is really
the shadow game. Although he hasn't understood anything,
he is still able to smile. Thus, Titan is surprised by Judai's
expression.
Come
to Judai's move. Drawing a card, Judai gets [Jar
of Greed - Kou Yuku Na Tsubo] and then plays it.
It allows Judai to draw additional two cards. After that,
he fuses [E-Hero Sparkman 4/1600/1400]
from his hand with E-Hero Clayman on the field into [E-Hero
Thunder Giant 6/2400]. By the effect of E-Hero Thunder
Giant, Judai can select and destroy a monster on Titan's
field that has the attack strength base lower than the attack
strength of this monster. As a result, Judai decides to
activate this effect against Terrorking Archfiend (Before
its total attack points are increased by 1000 by the effect
of Infernalqueen Archfiend, its attack base is 2000 that is
lower than the attack points, 2400, of E-Hero Thunder Giant).
At this moment, Titan still activates the special effect
of Terrorking Archfiend to roll the roulette of destiny.
The fire ball starts running again and stops at the number
5. That means the special effect of E-Hero Thunder Giant
against Terrorking Archfiend is invalid and is returned to
E-Hero Thunder Giant itself. E-Hero Thunder Giant itself
is destroyed. Thus, A luck of the destiny seems to be on
Titan's side. Even Judai's E-Hero Thunder Giant was finally
destroyed easily. Hayato is getting worried by such powerful
and awful demon deck of Titan. It can negate any special
effects against demon monsters. Therefore, Hayato is wondering
what Judai is gonna go next in this tough situation. At
this moment, Titan starts laughing because Judai's monsters
have totally been wiped out...
to be continued...
