At the Duel Academy, first-year students from the three dorms are studying together in a class that Professor Chronos is an instructor. At this moment, Asuka is standing, explaining chracteristics of cards in the duel monster: they are composed of many types of monster card - normal monster, effect monster, and fusion monster -, magic cards - instant magic, permanent magic, equipment magic, field magic and others -, and trap cards - counter trap, instant trap, and permanent trap. Professor Chronos is very impressed by Asuka's answer. He thinks that this question should be very easy for his Obelisk Blue student. However, Asaka tells him that it is just a basic knowledge and she then sits down. Next, Professor Chronos calls Sho to let him explain a meaning of the field magic. Although Sho knows what it means and how it can be played, he can't explain in words. Therefore, he merely stands still and gets embarrassed while the others students are laughing at him. Professor smiles and looks down such a low level of the Osiris Red student who couldn't answer the fundamental question. Then Judai responds to Professor Chronos that the basic knowledge sometimes doesn't matter. As an Osiris Red student, Judai could still beat Professor Chronos. Of course, Professor Chronos is getting mad by his prior defeat. It seems that Judai can recover Osiris Red reputation while people in the class start laughing again. Meanwhile. Asuka is looking at Judai from behind interestingly.

The next class is instructed by Daitokuji teacher, a supervisor of Osiris Red dorm . He is teaching about alchemy in ancient Eqypt that contains a lot of detail. Judai feels asleep and starts yawning. Then Sho turns to him and thanks for that Judai saved his face in the Professor Chronos' class. However, Judai appears not to remember what he did. Seeing Sho isn't paying attention, Daitokuji calls him up. Daitokuji tells Sho to help him catch [Pharaoh]. While Sho is wondering what Daitokuji means, a cat is walking around his leges. Daitokuji says that Pharaoh is exactly his cat's name.

At Professor Chronos office, he has been getting mad at drop-out Judai, thinking about a revenge. He writes a love letter to Judai by using Asuka's name and puts his lipstick mark on the letter. At the same time, another class is beginning. People change their uniform and are ready inside a main dome. However, that Sho hasn't come yet worries Judai. Then a lady supervisor from Obelisk Blue comes in and introduces herself as a head instructor of this class [Ayuka Emi]. In student locker room, Chronos is looking for Judai's locker and trying to put his fake love letter there. Openning each lock, Chronos sees boots with Judai's name. Thus, he puts the letter on the top of them and then leave the room. After that, Sho is hurry to come in because he has already been late for the class. Openning his locker, Sho finds that Judai placed his booths in the wrong place. Thus, he takes Judai's booths out without seeing the letter on them. The letter drops on the floor, so Sho picks it up and misunderstands that it is a letter to him. He looks very excited when he sees a lipstick mark on it. Then Sho opens and reads it.

"I have been in love with you since I first met you. Tonight, I will wait for you at the back of the lady dorm.

Tenjyoin Asuka"

Absolutely, Sho is very shocked by the love letter from Asuka. He start dreaming of his sweet life with Asuka. In his dream, he and Asuka are running toward each other and then Asuka tells him that she loves him. Sho feels very happy with it.

At night, Judai just having a bath returns to his room and tells Sho that a bath is now available. Anyway, Hayato tells Judai that Sho is away. He thought that Sho had a bath with Judai. Thus, Judai is wondering where Sho has gone. At this moment, Sho is rowing a boat to the lady dorm following the fake letter. Professor Chronos gets dressed in black bodysuit and cuts a key chain at the lady dorm entrance. He sneaks in and hides himself in bush behind lady bathroom. Some girls are having a bath and talking. Asuka's friend [Momoe] is feels jealous and impressed and by Asuka's style while Asuka is getting shy (Lady topic ^^). Also, they are talking about Judai, thinking that Judai is such an annoying guy. Nevertheless, Asuka merely smiles without any comment. Professor Chronos thinks about this evil plan at a proper time. If drop-out Judai comes behind this lady bathroom here at this time, Professor Chronos will take a picture of him as a evidence. Of course, he plans to reveal this picture to people so that Judai will be kicked out from the school.

However, Chronos is getting shocked when he sees that a coming guy is Sho not Judai. He screams loudly and expresses until ladies hear his voice and appearance. Many ladies around there start screaming, so Chronos runs away so fast that he falls into a river and disappears. As a result, only Sho is caught by the ladies who think that Sho is exactly a pervert. Sho is brought inside a main hall of the lady dorm. Momoe and [Junko] are wondering when Sho says that he gets the love letter from Asuka. Junko doesn't believe at all that Asuka of Obelisk Blue would write a letter to a guy of Osiris Red. Sho still argues that he got a notice that informed him to come behind the lady dorm tonight. Then he shows the ladies the love letter. Junko takes it and shows it to her friends quickly. Seeing the letter, Asuka says that she didn't write these words. Therefore, Sho is wondering who did this. Also, Junko has just noticed that this letter is written to Judai not Sho. She shows it to Sho, so Sho is shocked again by his mistake. While the ladies are discussing whether they should report Sho's act to the school, the lady dorm supervisor, who hears people's voice, comes out to an upper balcony and asks what people are doing during this late time. Asuka tells Momoe and Junko to hide Sho by sitting on him. Sho is complaining that they are heavy but the ladies have no other choice to help him. Asuka tells her teacher that there is nothing and says sorry for staying late at night. Therefore, the teacher suggests the ladies return to their room now, and she thens leaves. Junko asks what Asuka is going to do. At this point, Asuka is thinking about something. Apparently, there is someone who would like to put Judai in the trap by Asuka's name. Asuka feels that this is interesting, thinking about taking this situation as a good chance to test Judai.

At Osiris Red dorm, Judai is playing a game and he then gets a message. Openning his PDA machine, he sees neither picture of the sender nor clear voice message. It contains too much noise. Anyway, Judai can catch up the detail that he is challenged to take Sho back from the lady dorm. He, of course, doesn't understand what is going on.

"Marufuji Sho is now caught by us. If you would like to take him back, come to the lady dorm."

summary - second period
episode 3 translated by Janime

At a lake in front of the lady dorm, Chronos emerges from the water. While he is complaining, he sees drop-out Judai rowing a boat toward the lady dorm. Landing the boat, Judai sees Asuka, Junko, and Momoe catching Sho there. Thus, Judai asks what is going on. Sho is afraid to tell this long story. Anyway, Junko tells Judai the fact that Sho sneaked into the lady bathroom. Although Sho tries to argue, he can't change the fact that he was there at night time. Thus, Asuka proposes an agreement on a duel against Judai. If Judai wins, she won't report Sho's act to the school. Even though Sho doesn't understand the situation, he enjoys and feels active to the duel and then accepts Asuka's challenge.

People move to a battle stage in the middle of the lake. Judai is standing on his boat with Sho while Asuka is on another boat with Momoe and Junko. Meanwhile, Chronos feels that this duel may be interesting, keeping on watching it. Then the duel between Judai and Asuka starts. Frist turn comes to Asuka. Drawing a card, she summons [Etoile Cyber 4/1200/1600] in an attack position. Setting a reversed card, Asuka ends her turn.

Doble Passe
Trap Card

Come to Judai's time. He draws a card and then summons [E-Hero Sparkman 4/1600/1400] in an attack mode. He declares the attack against Etoile Cyber at once. Asuka is wondering whether Judai isn't aware of her reversed card at all, openning her trap card [Doble Passe - Passe=Ballet Step] at once. This card can be activated only if the opponent attacks a monster on her field. It allows Asuka the take receive the attack directly to herself and then allow her monster to attack Judai directly. As a result, Asuka gets the direct attack from E-Hero Sparkman and her LP goes down to 2400 (4000-1600). After that, her Etoile Cyber (1800) attacks Judai directly, so Judai's LP goes down to 2200 (4000-1800). Judai is wondering by Asuka's play. Asuka seems not to be worried about her damage by playing that kind of trap card. Then Judai ends his turn.

Asuka's time's comes. Drawing card, she summons [Blade Skater 4/1400] in an attack position. Continuously, she plays a magic card [Polymerization - Yuukou] to fuse Blade Skater and Etoile Cyber into [Cyber Blader 6/2100/800]. She lets Cyber Blader attack E-Hero Sparkman immediately, so Judai's LP goes down to 1700 (2200+1600-2100). At this moment, Momoe and Junko are impressed by Asuka's great play while Sho tries to cheer Judai up.

Time is back to Judai. Drawing a card, he gets a field magic card [Fusion Gate]. Thus, he activates it at once. By its effect, any Fusion card isn't required to fuse monsters. Thus, Judai fuses [E-Hero Featherman] and [E-Hero Burst Lady] from his hand into [E-Hero Flame Wingman 8/2100/1800]. Asuka seems glad by the fusion monster of Judai against her fusion monster. This is what she has waited for. Anyway, Asuka claims that the attack points of E-Hero Flame Wingman and her Cyber Blader are still equal (2100). In other words, if Judai attacks, both monsters will be together destroyed and then Judai's field will be openned. Then Asuka can take a change in her next turn. In fact, Judai hasn't finished his turn yet. He plays a permanent magic card [Spirit of the Knight - Kishidou Seishin]. By its effect, all of Judai's monsters can't be destroyed in battle by monsters with the same attack points. Also, by the special effect of E-Hero Flame Wingman, it can deal direct damage equal to the destroyed monster to Asuka. In brief, if Judai attacks, only Cyber Blader will be destroyed and Asuka has to get the direct damage of 2100 points from her own Cyber Blader. Thus, Judai declares the attack onf E-Hero Flame Wingman against Cyber Blader at once. However, he is amazed by that Cyber Blader isn't destroyed after the attack. Asuka explains a special effect of her Cyber Blader that can't be destroyed in battle when Judai has only one monster on the field. As a result, Asuka feels sorry to Judai that both of their LP remain the same in this his turn. After that, Judai ends his turn.

Fusion Weapon
Equipment Magic Card

Come to Asuka's move. Drawing a card, she smiles and claims that the fun time has ended. She starts playing seriously by an equipment magic card [Fusion Weapon] that can be equipped with a Fusion monster. Thus, Asuka equipps it with Cyber Blader. It also increases attack and defense points of the equipped monster by 1500 points. That means Cyber Blader obtains the attack and defense points of 3600 (2100+1500) and 2300 (800+1500) respectively. Instead of getting worried, Judai is getting excited by the great strength of 3600 points. Asuka declares the attack of Cyber Blader (3600) against E-Hero Flame Wingman (2100) at once. When E-Hero Flame Wingman is destroyed, Judai's LP is decreased significantly to 200 (1700+2100-3600). Junko reminds Judai that he is still a Osiris Red student although he could defeat Professor Chronos. Anyway, Judai can't be against Obelisk Blue at all. Sho no longer cares about his matter or what will happen to him. However, he can't forgive anyone looking down big brother Judai who is trying to help him. Sho cheers Judai not to lose, so Judai tells him not be worried. At this point, Asuka is curious what else Judai can do by his 200 LP. There is no monster left on Judai's field now. Whatever Judai has left is only his activated permanent magic card - Fusion Gate. There is only one card to turn this game . It is also the last chance in the next draw that will determine the game. Thus, Judai bets everything in his next turn.

E-Hero Thunder Giant
Monster Card

Judai's move, he draws a card, and he, of course, gets the key card [Monster Reborn - Shisha Sosei]. Then he nomrally summons [E-Hero Clayman 4/800/2000] in an attack position. After that, he plays Monster Reborn to regenerate E-Hero Sparkman from his graveyard. Seeing two monsters, Asuka claims that her monster still obtains greater attack points. Thus, Judai activates the special effect of his permanent magic card - Fusion Gate. He fuses E-Hero Clayman and E-Hero Sparkman into [E-Hero Thunder Giant 6/2400]. At this moment, Sho can give the explanation about the field magic that he couldn't say in the Chronos class: the effect of a field magic card remains continuously as long as it remains on the field. Anyway, Asuka sees that nothing is changed. Her monster still obtains higher attack points. Therefore, Judai explains special effect of E-Hero Thunder Giant. When summoned, it can destroy a monster on the opponent side of the field whose original attack points are lower than this monster. Before Cyber Blader is eqipped with Fusion Weapon, its original attack points are 2100. Thus, E-Hero Thunder Giant (2400) can destroy it following its own special effect. Without any wall monster, Judai declares the attack of E-Hero Thunder Giant against Asuka at once. Getting the heavy direct damage, Asuka's LP goes down to 0 (2400-2400). She is finally defeated. Sho is glad to see that Judai is the winner while Judai really enjoyed the duel. As promised, Judai takes Sho back and Asuka has to keep the situation a secret. Junko tries to remind Judai not to be confident because of this victory. However, Asuka tells her to stop. No matter what, she was already defeated. Then Judai says good bye to Asuka, rowing the boat back. Asuka feels very impressed and interested by Judai. By the way, Junko is amazed by Asuka's strange act today. On the other side, Professor Chronos just appears from the lake. Although he fails today, he will let Judai pay next time. Then he dives underwater and leaves because he has already got tired today.

Sho

You did it!

Judai

I won. What a nice duel! As you promised, I will take Sho back.

Asuka

Well, I will keep my promise. I will keep this a secret.

Junko

Hum...don't think that you are great because you won by luck.

Asuka

That's enough, Jundo.

Junko

Asuka-San

Asuka

Defeat is defeat. There is nothing to be sorry about.

Judai

Anyway, it might be the luck as you said but....you are really strong. See you...

Asuka

(He has been becoming more interesting, hasn't he!?)

Junko

Why today Asuka-San looked different? Could it be....?
