"What for has I been dueling? What else is that I am missing?", Judai keeps on asking himself these questions and tries to find the answer for the whole season. He, as a chosen hero, falls into such a tough and mysterious situations in Season III. After he flies into the different world, many of his friends have turned into zombi students and his dear friend, Johan, becomes a sacrifice. Everything is because Judai is the target of his childhood precious card, [Yubel]. In this season, Judai has to face his past and future and fights in the unfamiliar worlds. He mostly suffers and looks sad rather than has a fun duel, trying to find the answer of his missing thing that can make him become a qualified duelist.

The spirit of Supreme King is the ruler of Dark World, the world in another dimension. Judai, who loses his friends and trust of friendship, is losing his way and getting lost. While he can't find any answer for his confusion, he finally falls into darkness and becomes Supreme King of Dark World who hunts duelists' souls cruelly. Supreme King is Judai's dark and evil side against his heroic side following his belief to defeat an evil by becoming an evil himself.

This little prince is the past life of Judai. He's born with the power of Supreme King sleeping inside his heart. Until the day he becomes an adult, he needs someone to protect him. Yubel volunteers to be transformed into an unsightly dragon to protect him forever. In reponse, Young King Judai gives a promise to Yubel at that time that he will love her forever no matter what people will say.

As the only lady of the group, she has braver heart than anyone's. Asuka always has a journey along with Judai and the group without having afraid of any danger. She doesn't have much duel in Season III, but always fights along with her friends in the different world. Asuka feels upset and disappointed to Judai's act. She is also sacrificed and dies along with other people in Judai's battle.

Sho is advanced to Obelisk Blue during the early of Season III. However, he doesn't feel confident in Blue uniform, so he downgrades himself to stay in Ra Yellow. When brought to another world, he misses by losing to a student and becoming zombi duelist like many other students at school. He is also a lucky person who isn't sacrificed in Judai's battle, but he is the reason why Judai turns dark. Sho loses trust on Judai's friendship due to Judai's selfish act, but finally realizes that Judai is still his dear person anyway. Thus, he decides to watch over his important person forever no matter what is happening to him.

GX Champ is allowed to return to Obelisk Blue, but he volunteers to stay in Osiris Red in Season III. He tries to compete Amon, an heir of Garam family that is the rival of Manjoume Group. Manjoume is also brought to another world. In order to protect the food storage, he loses to a zombi student and finally becomes a zombi duelist. Manjoume is the one who bursts out his anger towards Judai's selfish act before he dies in Judai's battle.

Misawa has left the school since he saw the duel between Judai and Dr. Zweinstein in Season II. He helps Dr. Zweinstein with some experiment on the grand duel theory that there are duel monsters existing in another world. There is big light exploding in the lab, and he is then brought to the different world and meets with his friends there. He returns to support any logic idea for the group.

Kenzan is still in Ra Yellow in his second year. He is such a good support of the group by his strength. He has never turned to be a zombi and always helps out his friends fight against zombies. As usual, he follows Judai everywhere without hesitation. However, surprisingly, Kenzan eventually bursts out his hatred towards Judai's selfish act before he dies in Judai's battle. He is very upset to that Judai cares other people rather than himself and the gang.

After the battle against Saiou, Edo has returned to Pro League. He comes back to Duel Academia from time to time. He makes his journey to the different world with Judai and the others, fighting together along with Hell Kaiser. Edo would like to help Judai in order to pay back what Judai used to help his friend, Saiou.

To duel a qualified duelist, Hell Kaiser has returned to Duel Academia to compete Johan. He helps creating tremendous power through intense duel to open the gap between different dimensions. Due to the effect of his prior underground duel, his health is getting weaker. He shows some pain in his heart many times in this season and always tells himself that he doesn't have much time left. Before he dies in the different world, he decides to show his last and eternal brightness for Judai.

Another unlucky teacher is turned to be a zombie because he tries to sacrifice himself and protect his students. Professor Chronos shows his courage and performs like a brave teacher who truely fights for his students although he sometime looks uncertain. He even travels into the different world along with the other students and supports them when needed.

Although he died in Season I, Teacher Daitokuji has lived as a spirit inside Pharaoh's stomach. His spirit still shows up and helps Judai during crisis in Season III.

Having been a teacher for years, she has just had a chance to duel in Season III. Ayukawa performs as a medical teacher to treat injuried students in this season. Unluckily, she turns into a zombie in order to save Rei and has to fight her dear student, Judai.

Having a quarrel with his wife in Paris, Vice Principal Napoleon left his wife and his son, Martin. He conceals the fact that Martin is his son and is very worried about him. He feels guilty when he realizes that Martin has turned dark because of darkness during his childhood due to family problem.

President of I2 Corporation creates Gem Beast deck and gives it to one of five favorite supreme duelists, Johan Anderson. He is the one who creates the key card, Rainbow Dragon, for by him such a modern drawing technogoly.

One of the 7 stars has returned in Season III. By some reason, she along with many monsters are brought into the different world where she meets Judai and Misawa.

Fubuki is still in Duel Academia in Season III. He doesn't act much during the beginning of the season. Anyway, he still helps and supports the group to open the gate to the different world and going with the group to have a journey there. By his kind personality, he feels very painful to Judai's act and finally dies with the others in Judai's battle.

The eldest son of Garam family that owns Garam Finance larger than Manjoume Group is such a flexible intellect. He is such an officious and philosophical guy who wants to be a king. Amon always has mysterious acts and goals, currently moving forwards the king position in the different world. In order to become the king, he can do everything even sacrifice his beloved woman.

He is the right man of Professor Cobra who took him from the battlefield. He is such a strict duelist with soldier background, so he always keeps himself with training attached with life. The spot is at his special duel disk in gun form on his belt. Once he takes it out, it's as if he is drawing a real gun.

European champ is the chosen duelist by Gem Beast monsters to play Gem Beast deck. With his optimistic and positive attitude, his playing style isn't to destroy the opponent's monster but to provide a chance for the opponent to show the entire potential power. He has special ability to see monster spirits as Judai does, and his private spirit is Gem Beast Ruby Carbuncle.

Johan sacrifices himself to send people back to the original world and save Judai. However, he falls a victim and his body is possessed by Yubel. Yubel takes control Johan, captures his true heart in Ultimate Gem God Rainbow Dragon, and changes his deck into evil Gem Beast deck or Advanced Gem Beast monsters. Judai is the only hope who can bring him back from the confinement in darkness.

A good-natured guy always gets dressed like a cowboy and carries a living crocodile on his back. He is also an archaeologist who used to search for dinosaur fossil, considering the enemy of Kenzan who wants to let dinosaurs rest in peace. Under his bandage is Eye of Orichalcum that has mysterious power to help Jim save his friends whenever he wants.

He is a temp professor whom Principal Samejima calls from West School. He has a strict policy on real battle, so he opens the Disclosure Duel and makes up such a scary condition to the students so that the students can enhance their fighting spirits. His purpose is to gather duel energy from those fighting spirit in order to satisfy his devil master and revive his stepson, Rick. He is such a very strict professor who comments on Judai's weak duel and depresses him that dueling only with fun of Judai can't make him become a true duelist.

The monster spirit of Johan is Gem Beast Ruby Carbuncle. It is a family member of Johan and always stays with him like Winged Kuriboh staying with Judai. Its good friend seems to be Winged Kuriboh, and they always tease each other.

An active girl has finally returned to Duel Academia after she once followed Kaiser to the school in Season I and was defeated by Judai. She should be in a junior high school. Nevertheless, due to her high performance going to the final round of GX Tournament, she's promoted to Duel Academia, a senior high school, and volunteers to stay at Osiris Red with Judai.

A new Ra Yellow student is a close friend of Rei. He always looks slow and pale, so Rei mostly tries to take care of him. There seems to be some relationship between him and Vice Principal Napoleon. He's taken control by a devil because he has darkness in his mind that nobody has known before.

The devil arm was left in an island where Professor Cobra found it. It has an ability to see people's darkness in their mind. Only people with dark mind can use its power. It uses Professor Cobra to gather duel energy for it to revive and kills him later. Now, it is bringing Judai and the others into another world, taking control Martin for some goal.

The 10-star monster is the real spirit and the owner of the devil arm. She has claimed Judai for herself since Judai was young and harmed everyone getting closer to Judai or harming him. When Judai was a little kid, he sent Yubel (card) into the space. Yubel suffered in darkness for years and finally returned to the earth. The body of Yubel was destroyed and there remained only the devil arm. Yubel had to collect duel energy to recover her body and got back her dear Judai.

This little boy is the past life of Yubel. In order to protect the spirit of Judai forever, he is transformed into the unsightly dragon that can't be harmed by anyone. He gives a promise to Judai that he will follow and protect him eternity.
