EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 1

Earlier, Bommer revealed the truth about the crimson devil. 5,000 years further before the time when the Earthbound Gods were sealed in geoglyphs 5,000 years ago, the wicked god fighting the crimson dragon had been sealed deeply in the underground beneath the geoglyphs. The name of that wicked god was Scar-Red Nova.

At the surface, flaming draws a picture and makes reflection in the dark sky. It's a common sign of an Earthbound God. Annie is stunned by what's happening, watching at a statue with a carved picture of the guardian dragon at the top of the shrine. Beneath the shrine, the duel between Jack and Familiar is continued. Jack has 1600 LP while Familiar has 4000 LP.

Beneath a pillar where Jack is standing, the soul of the crimson devil is moving. Yusei calls it the phantom of the Earthbound God, Scar-Red Nova. It looks like a red serpent. Jack knows that it is truly the crimson devil trying to take over his body. He declares that he has no intention to offer his body to the crimson devil.

6th Turn - Jack

Jack resumes the duel by calling for his turn, drawing a card and getting Nightmare Demons. He summons [Dark Resonator - 3/1300/300: Once per turn, this card cannot be destroyed in battle] to the field in attack position. Yusei looks stunned by seeing Jack playing a tuner monster. Bommer wonders whether Jack is insisting to show further power. As expected, Jack tunes Dark Resonator into Big Piece Golem.

"The ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shaking power!". He declares his Synchro Summon, calling out his very soul, [Red Demon's Dragon - 8/3000/2000: When this card attacks a Defense Position monster your opponent controls, after Damage Calculation, destroy all Defense Position monster your opponent controls. If this card is face-up during your End-Phase, destroy all monsters you control that didn't declare an attack this turn except this card], out to the field in attack position.

Red Demon's Dragon

Familiar gets excited when he sees that Jack's ace monster representing himself finally appears. Jack quickly moves to battle phase and declares a direct attack of Red Demon's Dragon, "Absolute Power Force!." Familiar laughs as he likes Jack's spirit that never gives up. He activates a monster effect of Ferryman of Underworld in the graveyard. When the opponent attacks, he can special summon an Underworld monster from the graveyard to the field.

Familiar thus calls Frontier Guard of Underworld from the graveyard back to the field in attack position. Following by a monster effect of Ghoul of Underworld in the graveyard, any monster he controls must be destroyed. Thus, Frontier Guard of Underworld is stabbed by the spirit of Ghoul of Underworld and sent to the graveyard again. When Frontier Guard of Underworld is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, Jack's battle phase must end immediately and 800 damage will be inflicted to him.

As a result of this whole combo, Jack's LP drops to 800 (1600-800), and the attack of Red Demon's Dragon is ended. Jack does nothing else and ends his turn. Bommer is realizing how impregnable Familiar's combo is: reviving and destroying the monster in the graveyard all over, ending battle phase, and inflicting damage to the opponent. Yusei is more concerned by that Jack has only 800 LP left. Next turn, if Jack attacks and this combo is repeated, his LP will be written off to 0. Max is looking very worried about Jack. Anyway, Jack still looks confident under the circumstance.

7th Turn - Familiar

Familiar calls for his turn and a new stone card falls to the ground. He ends his turn without doing anything again (There is nothing he can do but counter. This strategy works well on Jack as Familiar is convinced by that Jack will be coming strongly by high spirit).

8th Turn - Jack

A turn is back to Jack, and he draws a card. Everyone is looking forward to Jack's next move. Jack points to Familiar and declares a direct attack of Red Demon's Dragon. Bommer doesn't understand what Jack is doing. It's clear that Familiar is waiting to activate his combo to counter Jack's attack.

"Absolute Power Force!," Jack declares as Red Demon's Dragon attacks Familiar directly. Familiar feels that this is interesting as he agrees to take it as much as Jack wishes. He repeats the same combo, activating a monster effect of Ferryman of Underworld in the graveyard. When the opponent attacks, he can special summon an Underworld monster from the graveyard to the field. Frontier Guard of Underworld is thus called back from the graveyard back to the field in attack position.

Extra Veiler
Tuner Monster Card

At this moment, Jack activates a monster effect of [Extra Veiler - 2/600/200: If a monster is Special Summoned during the Battle Phase, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. During the turn this card is Special Summoned by this effect, all damage that would be inflicted to you is inflicted to your opponent instead] from his hand. When the opponent special summons a monster, he can special summon Extra Veiler from hand to the field in attack position. Yusei looks very stunned while Familiar doubts what the monster can do.

The combo of Familiar is continued. Frontier Guard of Underworld is stabbed and destroyed by a monster effect of Ghoul of Underworld in the graveyard, and 800 damage will be inflicted to Jack. Jack activates another monster effect of Extra Veiler at this moment. It can absorb effect damage and return it to the opponent. Therefore, 800 damage is reflected back to Familiar, making his LP decrease by the first time to 3200 (4000-800).

Setting a face-down card (Nightmare Demons), Jack ends his turn. At his end phase, Extra Veiler that didn't attack in this turn is destroyed by an effect of Red Demon's Dragon. Bommer and Yusei see that Jack has changed his strike by using damage-inflicting strategy by the first time. It's clear that his battle way is changing.

Familiar understands how Jack feels but is afraid that his persistence is making the crimson devil angry. The giant statue of the crimson devil begins to glow, and many red serpents emerge from abyss. Familiar tells Jack that no matter how he fights, he won't be able to defeat him as the servant of the crimson devil. Thus, he suggests Jack show his own way of duel and belong to the crimson devil eventually. Jack yells at Familiar, telling him to stop making fun of him. He points to the giant statue of the crimson devil and tells Familiar to speak to his highest that he won't follow his desire.

Familiar acts as if he is thinking before saying that he has no idea about it. The giant statue then creates gust of wind and blows Jack away. Jack can catch an edge of the pillar by a hand before he falls into the abyss. Beneath is many serpents or the spirit of the crimson devil waiting for Jack to fall. Familiar laughs with pleasure. He claims that if Jack loses his life in the mid of the duel, an outcome will result in his defeat and his body will belong to the crimson devil. Thus, he hopes Jack will be more careful.

Jack can hold himself now by both hands, trying to climb up. Yusei calls Jack and looks very concerned about him. Jack tells Yusei not to be worried. He will definitely save Yusei, Bommer, and Max as there is no way he will fall at this place (If Jack's body belongs to the crimson devil, Yusei, Bommer, and Max will be sacrificed as well).

Jack successfully gets up to the pillar. "I won't be defeated. As long as my rough soul isn't exhausting, I will fight, by any possible mean, until my burning soul will run out!," he says. It's truly a challenge to the crimson devil.

"Rough soul...Burning Soul! I see. The one who buried the crimson devil wasn't only the crimson dragon. There was still a legendary Signer who holds Burning Soul," Bommer says.

Yusei turns to Bommer and looks curious about the legendary Signer. Bommer tells a story, "10,000 years ago in the battle between the wicked god and the crimson dragon that occurred in every 5,000 years, the ultimate Earthbound God, Scar-Red Nova the crimson devil, drove the crimson dragon into the depths of inferiority. But at that time, a man, a Signer, appeared from flame of volcano. Burning Soul!."

Bommer is talking about the legendary Signer who had Burning Soul, a complete form of the crimson dragon on his chest. This legendary Signer appeared from flame of volcano and confronted Scar-Red Nova alone.

"When rough soul runs through a body, a miracle happens," Bommer continues. The complete form of the crimson dragon set blaze on the legendary Signer's chest. The legendary Signer pulled power, Burning Soul, from his burning chest, and threw it to the crimson devil.

"The man who gained the power from the crimson dragon defeated and sealed the crimson devil. The one who held the rough soul or Burning Soul...," Bommer adds. Reflection of that legendary Signer is now within Jack who inherits Burning Soul.

"Rough soul...Burning Soul," Yusei murmurs as looking uncertain.

"Come on, the crimson devil," Jack yells as a challenge.

EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 2

9th Turn - Familiar

Familiar sees that Jack still has no match to the crimson devil, calling for his turn. Another stone card falls to the ground. Setting up a card, he ends his turn.

10th Turn - Jack

Jack calls for a turn, draws a card, and gets Synchro Gunner. At this moment, Familiar opens his set-up card [Battle Mania - Normal Trap: Activate only during your opponent's Standby Phase. All face-up monsters your opponent controls are changed to Attack Position, and cannot change their battle positions this turn. All monsters your opponent currently controls must attack this turn, if able], which forces all Jack's monsters to switch to attack position and force them to attack.

Synchro Gunner
Effect Monster Card

Yusei clearly sees that Familiar is pulling Red Demon's Dragon to attack, wondering whether he is going to activate the Underworld's combo again. Jack smiles as he has already got another plan. He summons [Synchro Gunner - 1/0/0: Once per turn, you can remove from play 1 Synchro Monster you control to inflict 600 damage to your opponent. Skip your Battle Phase this turn. During your Next Standby Phase, return that monster to the field in the same Position] to the field in attack position.

With a monster effect of Synchro Gunner, Jack can remove from play a synchro monster on his field to inflict 600 damage to the opponent. He selects to remove Red Demon's Dragon. The body of Red Demon's Dragon is loaded into a booster of Synchro Gunner. Jack tells Familiar to hear outcry of Red Demon's Dragon and firing bullet is shot. Familiar's LP drops to 2600 (3200-600). In addition to the monster effect of Synchro Gunner, Jack has to skip his battle phase and his removed monster or Red Demon's Dragon will return to the field in his next standby phase.

Because his battle phase is skipped, Battle Mania has no impact to Synchro Gunner. It's clear to Bommer that Jack's battle way of fighting by utilizing power has already changed to a different strategy. Yusei believes that Jack is trying to fight by any possible mean. Jack thinks that Yusei is right. He believes that there must be his new battle's soul at the end.

Jack opens his set-up trap card [Nightmare Demons - Normal Trap: Release 1 monster on your side of the field. Special Summon 3 "Nightmare Demon Tokens" (Fiend-Type/Dark/Level 6/ATK 2000/DEF 2000) to your opponent's side of the field in Attack Position. When a "Nightmare Demon Token" is destroyed, the controller of that Token takes 800 damage].

By releasing Synchro Gunner on the field, Jack can special summon 3 Nightmare Demon Tokens on Familiar's field in attack position. When a Nightmare Demon Token is destroyed, the controller will take 800 damage. Familiar looks in panic because 3 Nightmare Demon Tokens can be impacted by Ghoul of Underworld in the graveyard. That's what Jack has expected. He explains that as long as Ghoul of Underworld is in the graveyard, all monsters Familiar control must be destroyed.

As a result, all 3 Nightmare Demon Tokens explode, and Familiar's LP quickly drops to 200 (2600-800*3). Max is very amazed by that Jack could write off the opponent's LP to 200 in an instance. Bommer is also amazed by that Jack could outsmart the Underworld's combo. A new way of Jack's fight that doesn't depend on power is now growing.

Familiar is getting very mad. He can't allow Jack to go against the crimson devil any further. Anger will become fire and consume Jack's body. When Familiar finishes talking, the statue of the wicked god creates gust of wind and pressure toward Jack. Jack withstands the pressure as the duel is resumed.

11th Turn - Familiar

A turn returns to Familiar, and another stone card falls to the ground. By removing Ghoul of Underworld, Frontier Guard of Underworld, and Ferryman of Underworld in his graveyard from play, Familiar is able to special summon [Wicked King of Underworld - Mictlan Coatl ~ Yomi No Jaou Mictlan Coatl - 10/3800: This Card Cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by removing from play 3 "Underworld" monsters with different names from your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can destroy 1 face-up Spell or Trap Card your opponent controls and inflict 600 damage to your opponent] to the field in attack position.

Familiar tells Jack to realize that the crimson devil is now getting angry. The giant statue of the wicked god cracks and creates such a pressure again. Jack is trying to hold himself firmly while his steps are moving close to the edge of the pillar. Max points his brother to look at the cracks. There appears a big eye staring with rage. Familiar tells people the crimson devil is going to revive now.

Familiar moves to battle phase, declaring a direct attack of Wicked King of Underworld - Mictlan Coatl. Jack counters by opening a set-up trap card [Screen of Red - Continuous Trap: While this card is face-up on the field, Monsters with 2000 or more ATK cannot declare an attack. During your End Phase, inflict 2000 damage to your Life Points. If you control a "Red Demon's Dragon", negate this card's effects and destroy it], which doesn't allow a monster with 2000 ATK or higher to attack. Wicked King of Underworld - Mictlan Coatl thus goes back to its position.

Magical Martial Law
Continuous Spell Card

In the second main phase, Familiar activates a monster effect of Wicked King of Underworld - Mictlan Coatl. Once per turn, it can destroy a card on the opponent's field and inflict 600 damage to the opponent. Screen of Red is thus destroyed, and Jack's LP decreases to 200 (800-600). Yusei sees that both have the same 200 LP now. Familiar activates [Magical Martial Law ~ Madoukaigenrei - Continuous Spell: Send 3 Monsters with the same name in your hand to the Graveyard. Until your opponent's End Phase, your opponent cannot activate Spell Cards].

By sending 3 monsters with the same name on hand to the graveyard, Familiar can stop Jack from playing a spell card until the end of Jack's turn. He laughs before sending 3 [Bewitched Butterfly - 2/800/1800: If your opponent controls a monster(s) and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If your opponent controls a monster with a higher ATK than this card, destroy this card] on hand to the graveyard.

Bommer remembers that Bewitched Butterfly is a monster in Max's deck when he dueled Jack (episode 111). This is a clear proof that everything was a trap set up by the wicked god. Familiar ends his turn. The earth quakes, and the red face of the crimson devil finally breaks the statue and shows itself. Familiar says that the ritual of contract has come to the last chapter. It's time for his highest, the crimson devil, to revive.

Yusei is stunned by the appearance of the crimson devil, Scar-Red Nova. Familiar translates the crimson devil's message that Jack Atlus now has no card on hand that can defeat him. Because of the earthquake, the underground starts to collapse. Yusei, Max, and Bommer have to move up the stairs. Jack looks worried about them, and they appear to be safe.

Familiar reminds that 3 of them will be sacrifices for the ritual and suggests them adorn the climax with their last moment. Jack says that he won't allow him to do so. Although he has to burn out his entire soul, he will protect his dearly important friends and irreplaceably like-minded comrades. Familiar isn't satisfied and asks what Jack is talking about. The result has already been determined that his body will be sacrificed to the highest, the crimson devil. Jack argues that his soul won't let it happen so.

Jack holds a fist to his chest in the same way the legendary Signer did in the past. His fist begins to glow, and Jack says that Familiar has already forgotten that his soul (Red Demon's Dragon) will return soon. Familiar tries to think and remembers that Red Demon's Dragon will return to Jack's next standby phase following the effect of Synchro Gunner in the 10th turn.

12th Turn - Jack

In Jack's standby phase, Red Demon's Dragon returns to the field. Jack is holding a glowing fist at his chest. He says that Red Demon's Dragon sets blaze to his soul. Familiar tells Jack that Red Demon's Dragon won't be forgiven by going against the crimson devil. Light inside Jack's palm is shining bright while he is feeling beating of his soul. Jack's hand finally burn in flame, surprising Familiar very much. He tells his soul to keep burning. Yusei calls it, "Burning Soul." As he has expected, Jack is the legendary man who fought the crimson devil 10,000 years ago.

Jack draws a card in his turn by his burning hand. Familiar can't allow Jack to succeed. The power of the crimson devil explodes and makes a piece of the ceiling collapsing and falling over Jack. Max cries for Jack. Yusei and Bommer look concerned about him. At the surface, swirling power erupts from the statue of Quetzalcoatl at the top of the shrine and flies to the sky. The dragon's birthmarks glow on Jack's and Yusei's arms following by appearance of the crimson dragon behind Jack.

Seeing appearance of the crimson dragon, Max and Bommer realize that it is Quetzalcoatl, the guardian god worshipped on this land (Nazca Plateau). Jack's eyes are now glowing as a vision of the legendary Signer is reflecting in his body. Jack resumes the duel by activating a monster effect of a tuner monster [Create Resonator - 3/800/600: If you control a face-up Synchro Monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand] on his hand. When he controls a synchro monster, this monster can be special summoned from hand. Jack calls it to the field in attack position.

Next, Jack normal summons another tuner monster [Attack Gainer - 1/0/0: When this card is sent to the Graveyard for a Synchro Summon, 1 Monster your opponent controls loses 300 ATK] to the field in attack position. He double tunes Attack Gainer and Create Resonator into Red Demon's Dragon. Bommer is surprised by turning with 2 tuner monsters. Yusei is more surprised by whether such a synchro summon exists (A rule is thumb is that only 1 tuner monster is used in synchro summon).

With 3 monsters combined, a new synchro monster will have level 12 (8+3+1). Max is very amazed by such a powerful synchro monster. Yusei tells him that the one holding Burning Soul gains power of the crimson dragon and makes a miracle. Jack's entire body is now burning as the dragon's birthmark on his arm is glowing. Jack tells his burning soul to seal the crimson devil once again by its power. He raises his hand in the air, and there appears a shining card in his palm. Familiar looks surprised by what's happening while the red body of the wicked god is glowing.

"The crimson devil, I will take entire power of yours. The King and The Devil, here and now, shall become as one. A Raging Spirit! Lift up the very cries of Creation itself! Synchro Summon! This card cannot be destroyed by the effects of your opponent's Spells, Traps, and Effect Monsters. Scar-Red Nova Dragon

The red body of the wicked god is now sealed in a card on Jack's palm, vanishing from the giant statue. The picture of Scar-Red Nova Dragon appears on the card. Familiar hardly believes that his highest, the crimson devil, has been abided. Max is very impressed by how amazing Jack is.

Jack puts the card into his deck and activates a monster effect of Scar-Red Nova Dragon. It gains 500 ATK for each tuner monsters in his graveyard. There are 4 tuner monsters (Dark Resonator, Create Resonator, Extra Veiler, and Attack Gainer) in the graveyard, so the ATK of Scar-Red Nova Dragon is boosted up to 5500 (3500*500*4). Familiar looks clearly in panic.

"I will show you power, the ultimate power I worked all of my hands to get by all means. This is my new soul of fight," Jack says and declares an attack of Scar-Red Nova Dragon, "Burning Soul!," to destroy Wicked King of Underworld - Mictlan Coatl. Scar-Red Nova Dragon creates a big hollow in the body of Wicked King of Underworld - Mictlan Coatl, making it exploded. Familiar's LP drops to 0 (200+3800-5500).

Duel End

The statue of the wicked god collapses over Familiar. The stairs and the pillar where Jack is standing also collapse, making everyone falling to the abyss. The crimson dragon roars before flying to help everybody. At the surface, the shrine shines brightly and blinds Annie for a moment. When she opens her eyes, the reflection of flaming in the sky vanishes. The shrine collapses, and the bodies of Jack, Bommer, Yusei, and Max lay on the ground. The crimson dragon is roaring and flying away in the sky.

Everyone gets up and looks at the crimson dragon. Quetzalcoatl or the guardian god of Nazca plateau is truly the crimson dragon protecting the Earthbound Gods on this land. The Quetzalcoatl picture on the statue of the shrine is the drawing of the crimson dragon. After the incident, it's time for Yusei and Jack to say goodbye to Bommer and his family.

Bommer hopes Yusei and Jack will visit them again. Yusei agrees, but Jack tells him not to be kidding. Jack feels that he has already got enough occult. His lines rather make Bommer and Annie smile. Max runs into Jack and tells him that he will believe in his own deck from now on. If he keeps believing, he will be able to create a king-like deck someday. Jack smiles and tells Max that he will be looking forward to fighting him with the deck he believes in. For that reason, he will come here again (not for an occult reason).

Jack and Yusei then take off and ride along Nazca plateau. Yusei tells Jack that the one who called Jack here may truly be the crimson dragon. Jack wonders whether it means the crimson devil was used for him to gain a state of Burning Soul. Yusei thinks so. It's just like how he could gain a state of Clear Mind in Accel Synchro.

Yusei takes out Shooting Star Dragon that represents Clear Mind, and Jack takes out Scar-Red Nova Dragon that represents Burning Soul. It seems to them that these 2 new powers, Clear Mind & Burning Soul, are given to defeat threat of Yliaster.

To be continued...
