EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 1

Earlier, Placido executed his new plan by going to meet Catastrophe Team and give them a secret card, Hidden Knight -Hook-. Nicolas met Placido in a street and was surprised by getting it from him. Placido told him that if he used it, they didn't have to smoke around this place. Duels would be all complete victory, and they could even become a king. This card was called to be a card of darkness. Nicolas felt that it was interesting and accepted to use it.

Later, Nicolas used it with Aki practicing alone on a highway. It locked Aki's wheel and made her fly off. Aki quickly summoned Rose Tentacles, but it couldn't save her. Her body passed through the monster. Aki was very surprised by that her power couldn't be activated. This should be the power of Placido's card that sealed her psychic power. Aki thus crashed and was taken to the hospital.

Crow thus had to play in the preliminary round in place of Aki despite the face that his shoulder was still injured. His first opponent was Hermann who summoned Hidden Knight -Hook- in the first turn. Carly told Mikage and Ushio that this monster was the one that made a wheel lock. Crow had waited for this fishy monster to appear. He would like to know how this monster could lock a wheel.

Crow declared an attack of Black Feather - Sirocco of Dawn, "Dark Wing Slash," toward Hidden Knight -Hook-. Yusei saw that Crow finally made an assault. Hermann said that he wouldn't be beaten by such a strike. He activated a monster effect of Hidden Knight -Hook-, "Shadow Hook!." When this monster became an attack target, it could change to defense position along with the attacking monster. Thus, both Hidden Knight -Hook- and Black Feather - Sirocco of Dawn changed to defense position, and they had 0 DEF and 900 DEF respectively. Because Crow's monster was changed to defense position, his attack was negated.

Hermann explained the remaining effect of Hidden Knight -Hook-. When it changed from attack to defense position, 800 damage would be inflicted to the opponent. Crow received this effect damage, and his LP dropped to 3200 (4000-800). He felt more pain coming from this damage as the impact seemed real. His D-Wheel was swinging. At this moment, something was emerging from shadow on the back wheel of Black Bird. Crow noticed that it looked like a hook trying to catch his wheel. He quickly turned his Black Bird away from it. Everyone looked very shocked by such a scene. Crow managed to run straight finally. The crowd seemed confused and didn't understand what's going on.

Hermann felt disappointed that Crow had a good luck and could dodge it. Mikage and Ushio were not sure what they had just seen. It seemed to Mikage that there was something beside Crow's wheel. Crow was sure what had just happened. He looked at the hands of Hidden Knight -Hook- and noticed a hook. It's the same hook trying to catch his wheel from shadow. Yusei thought that the hook from shadow was a hand of Hidden Knight -Hook-. Jack didn't want to believe it. Breo wondered how such a thing could emerge from shadow. Yusei had no idea but he was convinced that he was right. Luca had a bad feeling about this, and Lua doubted whether this monster wasn't a mere solid vision.

At this point, Crow sees how it makes sense to him. If his wheel is locked by that monster, he will be ended. Crow holds his should as pain begins to return. He thus can't take this duel longer. Setting 4 face-down cards (Urgent Tuning, Black Back, Defender's Cross, Gravity Breakdown), he ends his turn.

It's clear to Jack and everyone that Crow is rushing to end the game due to pain on his shoulder. At the pit of Catastrophe Team, Hans sees Crow's struggle so useless. Nicolas agrees. It doesn't matter what trap cards Crow will use. As long as they still have Hidden Knight -Hook-, the game will be on them. Hermann plans not to let Crow pass this time.

3rd Turn - Hermann

Hermann's SPCs 2
Crow's SPCs 2

Hidden Knight -Dark-
Effect Monster Card

Hermann calls for his turn and draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to both sides following the effect of Speed World 2. They result in 2 SPCs (1+1) evenly. Hermann changes Hidden Knight -Hook- to attack position and normal summons [Hidden Knight -Dark- 3/800/0: This card can attack your opponent directly. You can Tribute this card when a Defense Position monster you control is attacked. Switch that monster to Attack Position] to the field in attack position.

Hidden Knight -Dark- has a monster effect that allows it to attack the opponent directly. Hermann declares its attack to Crow. Crow's LP drops to 2400 (3200-800). Next, Hermann declares an attack of Hidden Knight -Hook-, "Devil Hook!," to destroy defending Black Feather - Sirocco the Dawn successfully. The strike is now passing to Crow. Jack sees that a hidden attack from shadow is coming again.

As expected, a hook emerges from shadow beneath a wheel of Black Bird. Crow quickly turns his Black Bird away from it. Although he somehow swings around, he manages to dodge it successfully. Hans and Nicolas become very surprised. Hans doesn't want to believe and thinks that it is just a fluke. Yusei and Bruno smile after seeing that Crow was safe from it. Crow holds his shoulder again as his struggle to dodge a wheel lock seems to put more burden and pain on it.

Hermann looks mad as he failed again. MC describes to the crowd that it seems that Crow's D-Wheel has a trouble. Hermann sets up a face-down card and ends his turn. Bruno asks whether Yusei saw it. Yusei says that he did, but he isn't sure how come shadow attacks. Crow crosses his eyes to his back wheel and remembers the picture of a hook trying to catch his wheel. He still wonders what that hook truly is. Pain runs through his shoulder again, making Crow groan.

As Jack expects, fighting by that shoulder is too much for Crow. Jack suggests to bring Crow back to the pit. Lua gets it and quickly gives a message to Crow through a sign board. "P Crow!," on the board is a message to have Crow return to the pit. MC doubts whether this means Crow's Black Bird is broken.

"Crow, Pit In!," Jack says. He also tells Crow to leave the rest on him. Crow denies to do so as he wants to defeat only this monster by himself. He ignores his friends' message and passes the pit without stopping. Luca calls Yusei as she doubts what they should do. Yusei says that Crow has already made a decision. They had better believe in Crow. Although Jack doesn't like it, he tells Crow to do as he wants. He doesn't know what will happen and won't take on it.

4th Turn - Crow

Hermann's SPCs 3
Crow's SPCs 3

Black Back
Normal Trap Card

It's now Crow's turn, and he draws a card in pain. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to both sides following the effect of Speed World 2. They result in 3 SPCs (2+1) evenly. Crow opens his face-down trap card [Black Back - Normal Trap: Special summon 1 "Black Feather" monster with 2000 or less ATK from your graveyard to the field. You cannot normal summon a monster in the turn this card is activated]. It allows him to special summon a monster with 2000 ATK or less from the graveyard. Crow thus special summons Black Feather - Sirocco the Dawn (2000 ATK) from the graveyard to the field in attack position.

Next, Crow special summons [Black Feather - Hurricane Gale ~ BF (Black Feather) - Shuppuu No Gale - 3/1300/400: If there are monsters on your side of the field with "Black Feather" in their names other than "Black Feather - Hurricane Gale," you can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, you can halve the attack and defense power of 1 monster face-up on your opponent's side of the field] from his hand to the field in attack position. This monster can be special summoned from hand when there is a Black Feather monster on the field.

Crow activates the remaining effect of Black Feather - Hurricane Gale. Once per turn, it can halve the ATK and DEF of an opponent's monster. Crow decides to apply this effect to halve Hidden Knight -Hook-'s ATK to 800 (1600/2). He moves to battle phase, declaring an attack of Black Feather - Hurricane Gale, "Black Scratch!," toward Hidden Knight -Hook-. Lua is concerned by that if Crow attacks, the monster effect of Hidden Knight -Hook- will be activated again.

As expected, Hermann activates the monster effect of Hidden Knight -Hook-. When it becomes an attack target, it can change to defense position along with the attacking monster. Thus, both Hidden Knight -Hook- and Black Feather - Hurricane Gale are changed to defense position. In addition to the effect of Hidden Knight -Hook-, 800 damage is inflicted to Crow. Crow's LP drops to 1600 (2400-800).

Crow notices a hook emerging from shadow at this moment. He jumps up in the air to avoid it successfully. Black Bird hits the ground strongly, and Crow tries so hard to take control it. Hans, Nicolas, and Hermann are surprised by that Crow could again dodge it. Lua looks at Bruno and repeats that he was right. Attacking Hidden Knight -Hook- doesn't do any good. Bruno gives another aspect that Crow's movement now makes Hidden Knight -Hook- change to defense position.

Yusei further explains that as long as Hidden Knight -Hook- is in attack position, it can't be beaten. Nevertheless, if it is in defense position, it can negate a strike of an attacking monster. Luca understands that Yusei means Crow planned to have Hidden Knight -Hook- change to defense position on purpose.

Still in Crow's battle phase, he declares an attack of Black Feather - Sirocco the Dawn, "Dark Wing Slash!," toward Hidden Knight -Hook-. Hermann counters to activating a monster effect of Hidden Knight -Dark-. It can be released to change battle position of a defense-position monster on the field to attack position when that monster is attacked. Hermann thus releases Hidden Knight -Dark- to change Hidden Knight -Hook- to attack position. Lua is concerned by that Hidden Knight -Hook- comes back to attack position again.

Hermann activates the monster effect of Hidden Knight -Hook- when it is attacked. Both Hidden Knight -Hook- and Black Feather - Sirocco the Dawn are changed to defense position. At this moment, Crow knows well what is coming. A hook emerges from shadow beneath his back wheel. Hermann is convinced by that Crow will crash this time. Yusei calls Crow out loud. Crow tries so hard to move his Black Bird up and makes it fly higher in the air. The hook moves further and tries to reach him. Its full appearance emerges from shadow and is seen by everyone.

Everybody is stunned by seeing the entire body of the monster hidden in shadow. Crow lands on the ground strongly and safely even though it causes more pain on his shoulder. He smiles as it is easy for him to dodge when he knows the trick. Hermann reminds Crow that he still has to receive 800 damage from the effect of Hidden Knight -Hook-. His LP drops to 800 (1600/2).

Crow's play hasn't been done yet. He sends [Black Feather - Etejia the Double Longswords ~ BF (Black Feather) - Nino Tachi no Etejia - 3/400/1600: When a "Black Feather" monster you control attacks your opponent's monster, and the opponent's monster is not destroyed by battle, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of that "Black Feather" monster] from his hand to the graveyard to activate its effect. When his Black Feather monster cannot destroy a monster by battle, damage equal to that Black Feather monster will be inflicted to the opponent. Hermann thus has to receive damage equal to the ATK of Black Feather - Sirocco the Dawn. His LP drops to 2000 (4000-2000).

MC says excitedly that it's an amazing combo. Crow took 1600 damage points but still could inflict 2000 damage in an instance. The crowd screams and cheers up, so does Lua. Hans is now in panic and asks Nicolas what they should do. Nicolas tells him to calm down. Although Hermann got some damage, Crow has only 800 LP. Nicolas thus believes that their victory is still clear.

Still in Crow's battle phase, he opens his second face-down trap card [Urgent Tuning ~ Kinkyuu Douchou - Normal Trap: Release 1 Tuner Monster on your side of the field and 1 or more Non-Tuner monster to Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster that fulfills the Summoning Requirements from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Synchro Summon)]. This trap allows him to do a synchro summon in battle phase.

Hermann can't allow Crow to destroy his monster through a synchro summon easily. For that purpose, he opens his continuous trap card [The Shadow of Dizzying Darkness ~ Yami Kuramumashi no Kage - Continuous Trap: A Defense-Position monster you control cannot be destroyed by battle. When your opponent controls a LIGHT monster, destroy this card].

Black Feather - Etejia the Double Longswords
Effect Monster Card
The Shadow of Dizzying Darkness
Continuous Trap Card

This card can protect a defense-position monster on his fried from being destroyed by battle. Crow continues by tuning Black Feather - Hurricane Gale into Black Feather - Sirocco the Dawn. "Darkened whirlwind, take flight in the wings of concealed feelings! Synchro Summon! Soar! Black Feather Dragon!," he says and synchro summons [Black Feather Dragon - 8/2800/1600: When you receive damage besides from battle by this card, you cam reduce this monster's ATK by the same amount of damage received to negate the damage. Once per turn, You can return this card's ATK by the ATK reduced by this card's effect. Reduce the ATK of all monsters on your opponent's field by the ATK returned] to the field in defense position.

EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 2

The crowd screams, and Lua gets excited to seeing Crow's ace monster. Luca anyway still doesn't understand why it is synchro summoned in defense position. Lua is unsure, either. Hermann understands that because Crow knows that he can't win, he decides to play defense. Crow asks back who is going to do so before opening his third face-down trap card [Defender's Cross - Normal Trap: Activate only during the Battle Phase. Each player selects a Defense Position monster they control. The effect(s) of the selected monsters are negated until the end of the Turn. The monsters switch to Attack Position and battle]. This trap is an answer to Luca's earlier doubt.

This trap can be activated only in battle phase. It forces both players to select a defense-position monster they control. The effects of the selected monsters are negated until the end of the turn, and they have to change to attack position and attack. Yusei has a big smile as Shadow Hook effect of Hidden Knight -Hook- can't be activated by this play. Bruno adds that because it's still in Crow's battle phase, he can still inflict damage.

Both Hidden Knight -Hook- and Black Feather Dragon are changed to battle position. Hermann is very stunned by seeing Black Feather Dragon with 2800 ATK. Jack sees that Hermann has 2000 LP left and Hidden Knight -Hook- has 800 ATK (It's ATK is halved by the effect of Black Feather - Hurricane Gale early in this turn). If Crow's attack can break through, he will win (2000+800-2800).

Because Hidden Knight -Hook- is in attack position, the effect of The Shadow of Dizzying Darkness is meaningless. Crow is now very angry. There is no way he will forgive Hermann for the horrible thing he did to Jean, Andore, and Aki. Black Feather Dragon roars in response to Crow's strong emotion. Its wings get darkened, stunning Ushio and Breo.

Crow declares an attack of Black Feather Dragon, "Noble Stream!," toward Hidden Knight -Hook-. As giant nova is moving closer, Hermann activates his face-down trap card [Revival Knight - Normal Trap: Activate during the End Phase of a Turn when a Fiend-Type "Knight" monster you control is destroyed. Special Summon that monster in Defense Position].

Defender's Cross
Normal Trap Card
Revival Knight
Normal Trap Card

At the same time, the giant nova hits Hidden Knight -Hook- and makes it explode. Hermann's D-Wheel spins along the walls, and his LP drops to 0 immediately (2000+800-2800). MC describes an official result of the first match that it is a reversal victory of Crow. According to the rule of the tournament, when a player is defeated, a turn becomes End Phase immediately. The crowd screams. Lua is glad that Crow finally made it.

There is no way Hermann will end up like this. The effect of Revival Knight is still valid and can be activated only at the end phase. In the turn his fiend-type "Knight" monster is destroyed, he can special summon it to the field in defense position. Thus, Hidden Knight -Hook- is called back to the field during Crow's end phase. Crow looks worried that an annoying monster is back again. Hermann laughs as he can't allow only this monster to be destroyed. He tells Crow to take the power from a card of darkness.

Gravity Breakdown
Counter Trap Card

His lines truly surprise everyone. The shadow of Hidden Knight -Hook- expands further, forming into a giant body and trying to reach Crow. Crow opens his last face-down trap card [Gravity Breakdown ~ Juuryoku Houkai - Tribute 1 Synchro Monster you control to negate the Summon of an opponent's monster that has less ATK than the Synchro monster and destroy it]. It allows him to send a synchro monster on the field to the graveyard and negate the summon of a monster with ATK less than the synchro monster and destroy it. Breo and Yusei hardly believe Crow's decision to destroy his ace monster.

Crow wants to destroy Hidden Knight -Hook- at all costs even though it means to sacrifice his Black Feather Dragon. He sends Black Feather Dragon on the field to the graveyard to negate the special summon of Hidden Knight -Hook- and destroy it. The giant shadow is shattered, and Hidden Knight -Hook- explodes. The crowd screams again. Yusei and Jack get excited to that Crow could defeat Hidden Knight -Hook- beautifully.

First Duel End

Crow's play truly stuns Ushio very much. The way that Crow set up such a trap card (Gravity Breakdown) is as if he could read that his opponent would revive Hidden Knight -Hook-. Crow has already accomplished his goal to beat up his friends' enemy and also come to his limit. His shoulder has come only this far. He rides back into the pit despite the fact that he still has 800 LP left. MC wonders whether there is still something wrong with Crow's Black Bird. He doesn't seem to have an idea of Crow's injury on his shoulder.

Crow stops at this pit, takes off his helmet, and tells his friends that he has already taken down the enemy. He transfers the team's sign to Jack. Jack takes it from Crow and tells him to leave the rest on him. He runs into his Wheel of Fortune, prepares himself, and takes off quickly. MC officially announces the second wheeler of 5D'S Team, Jack Atlus, to the field. According to the tournament rules, LP transferred from the prior wheeler will be invalid. Thus, Jack will start with full 4000 LP.

The ladies get excited once Jack enters the field. Stephanie has already waited for Jack's time. Because the card of darkness is gone, Carly is convinced by that it will be Jack's game. Mikage calls her Atlus-Sama out loud. Ushio looks very tired of the ladies' over act toward only Jack. At the top of the roof, Luciano tells Placido that his plan seems to fail and laughs. Placido doesn't look pleased with the result but doesn't say anything.

The second wheeler of Catastrophe Team is Nicolas. He is sitting on his D-Wheel and standing by at the pit. Hermann finally reaches the pit and parks near Nicolas. He apologizes him for the result. Nicolas looks very mad when he stares at Hermann. He rudely takes the team's sign from Hermann and takes off. Nicolas tells himself that he won't be ended up here as he still has a (key) card left. Placido is now watching over Nicolas. Nicolas enters the field and goes after Jack.

"You finally show up! An outrageous fellow who depends on a card of darkness! I, Jack Atlus, will teach you a real duel!," Jack says. Both then declare to begin a duel. Because the earlier game ends by Crow's turn, it is now a turn of Catastrophe Team. SPCs of Crow and Hermann are transferred to their wheelers.

5th Turn - Nicolas

Nicolas' SPCs 4
Jack's SPCs 4

Nicolas calls for his turn and draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to both sides following the effect of Speed World 2. They result in 4 SPCs (3+1) evenly. Nicolas sets up a face-down card and ends his turn at once. Bruno is surprised by that Nicolas just set up a card in his play. Crow wonders whether Nicolas didn't intend to summon a monster. Jack doubts whether Nicolas really thinks that he can defeat him just by a set-up card. He doesn't care anyway and continues his own game.

6th Turn - Jack

Nicolas' SPCs 5
Jack's SPCs 5

It's now Jack's turn, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to both sides following the effect of Speed World 2. They result in 5 SPCs (4+1) evenly. By sending [Dread Dragon - 2/1100/400: When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Level 3 or lower Dragon-Type monster from your Deck to your hand] on his hand to the graveyard, he can special summon [Power Giant - 6/2200/0: You can discard 1 monster with level 4 or less from your hand to Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Special Summoned by this effect, lower its Level equal to the Level of the discarded monster. When this card battles, negate effect damage inflicted to your Life Points until the end of damage step] from his hand to the field in attack position.

By the monster effect of Power Giant, Jack can send 1 monster with level 4 or less from his hand to the graveyard to special summon it from hand to the field and reduce its level by the level of the discarded monster. The monster sent to the graveyard is Dread Dragon with level 2, so Power Giant's level is down to 4 (6-2).

Jack quickly moves to battle phase, declaring a direct attack of Power Giant. Nicolas can expect such a coming attack. He opens his face-down trap card [Doom's Ray - Normal Trap: Activate only when your opponent declares a direct attack. Inflict 800 damage to you and your opponent for each card in your hand]. When an opponent makes a direct attack, this trap can inflict 800 damage for each card on hand to both sides.

Doom's Ray
Normal Trap Card

Lua tries to count. There are 5 cards left on Nicolas' hand (He sets up only 1 card in the earlier turn), so 800 damage for each card adds up to 4000 damage in total (800*5). Lua is concerned by that if it gets through, both players' LP will be 0 immediately. Jack doesn't understand either and asks what Nicolas is thinking. Nicolas tells him that he just wants to make his D-Wheel crashed by the power of darkness he has got.

Jack looks confused by the power of darkness Nicolas is talking. To clarify, Nicolas tells him that Hidden Knight -Hook- isn't the only card of darkness. Bruno and Yusei see that it means Doom's Ray is also a card of darkness (which can inflict real damage to players). Doom's Ray shines brightly and blinds people before it explodes. Great impact hits both Jack and Nicolas. There are many evil spirits appearing and assaulting them. Jack is screaming while Nicolas is getting surprised by why he also receives the impact.

Placido watching from the roof of the stadium gives him a short answer that his business with Nicolas has already been over. Both Jack and Nicolas groan in pain as the spirits keep attacking him. Crow looks worried about him but there is nothing he can do. At this moment, Jack activates the remaining effect of Power Giant. When it battles, he can negate effect damage inflicted to him.

Thus, Power Giant creates a barrier to protect Jack and reflect those spirits. Only Nicolas has to receive effect damage from Doom's Ray, so his LP drops to 0 (4000-800*5). He screams in pain from the strike of his own card of darkness. Jack sees Nicolas and decides to give him a hand. The impact finally causes large explosion not too far from their pits. Some pieces of a D-Wheel shatter around. Seeing those pieces, everyone calls for Jack and gets worried about him. Those pieces of D-Wheel actually belong to Nicolas'. Jack jumps off smoke with his Wheel of Fortune. He carries Nicolas' body on his shoulder and lands safely.

Second Duel End

"Jack Atlus won't be defeated by power of darkness!, " Jack says. The crowd screams and everyone looks relieved and smiles.

MC pauses for a moment after seeing such a scene. He then tells the audience that an outcome has already been determined. Nicolas' D-Wheel is seriously damaged, so he can't reach the next wheeler to continue the duel. It thus turns out to be defeat of the entire team, and the winner that will advance is 5D'S Team.

Among the cheer, Nicolas is standing with Jack sitting on Wheel of Fortune. He asks why Jack saved him. Jack tells him that it should be clear enough. He points his finger to Nicolas' face and says that Nicolas has no value to die. A duel is a crash among souls. The one like Nicolas who doesn't believe in his own cards but uses a card of Darkness doesn't deserve to duel. Nicolas is stunned after being lectured by Jack. He looks upset but doesn't say anything.

Everyone in 5D'S Team is smiling. They are all glad to Jack's victory. On the other side, Sherry watching over the duel from the beginning has already found a clue in a card of darkness. It is a source of information linking to Yliaster. Meanwhile, Luciano watching from the roof of the stadium feels disappointed to this failure. He laughs as a result usually doesn't seem to go along what Placido wants. Anyway, when Luciano looks up, he sees that Placido is gone.

Placido is now executing another plan. Several entrances of a building are opened, and many Ghost robots are riding their D-Wheels and entering highways.

"Go, Diablo! Entrap this town with chaos!," Placido says. He is now standing at the top of the building and giving an order to the robot wheels or Ghosts.

To be continued...
