EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 1

Earlier, Yusei, Jack, and Crow followed Ushio to the hospital. Ushio was seriously injured by a mysterious D-Wheeler called Ghost. Yusei asked him what happened. Ushio just gave him a short warning not to play Synchro against Ghost. Yusei looked confused and wasn't aware of Ushio's meaning. He later approached into a duel with Ghost who summoned 5 monsters to the field in an instance. Each monster was a robot part, and they were unioned into the body of an ace monster, Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. Yusei gets stunned as the gigantic robot is approaching him.

In the morning, Rua and Ruca run to Yusei's home and see that Aki has already been there. There is nobody of Yusei, Crow, Jack, and their D-Wheels. Rua doubts why Aki is here. Aki replies that her reason of coming here should be the same as the kids'. Ruca understands that Aki also feels it so, putting her hand on her right arm. Aki looks at her dragon's birthmark telling her that Yusei is fighting. The dragon birthmarks connect people to one another no matter how apart they are. Anyway, pain from the dragon's birthmark this time makes Aki have some bad feeling, and she is concerned about Yusei. Ruca and Rua doubt what it is.

The duel between Yusei and Ghost is continued. They are having a riding duel on particular riding duel driveway while Jack and Crow are riding on highway on both sides of the duel driveway. Seeing Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, Crow becomes very surprised by the monster he has never seen before. Jack sees Ghost and his monster that defeated Ushio.

Note: New transportation is developed and explained in episode 65, in which riding duel is allowed on highway split into 2 path ways: regular highway and particular riding duel driveway. Refer to the earlier episode for details.

Jack enters the riding duel driveway through Duelgate 0014 and going along with Crow after Yusei and Ghost. Crow looks at the monitor and sees the 5 monsters on Ghost's field. He turns to ask Jack what these monsters are. Jack has no idea as he has never seen them either. Anyway, he is convinced by that Ghost has clearly used them thoroughly in the duel with Yusei. In other words, these monsters are Ghost's power. Crow hopes that Yusei isn't going to lower down his guard against them. In the 2nd main phase of Yusei's turn, he sets up 2 face-down cards and ends his turn.

3rd turn - Ghost

Ghost's SPCs 2
Yusei's SPCs 2

Shock Reborn
Normal Trap Card

The turn comes to Ghost, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Yusei's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World 2. Both result in 2 SPCs evenly. Ghost immediately moves into battle phase and declares the attack of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity toward Max Warrior. At this moment, Yusei opens his face-down trap card [Shock Reborn - Normal Trap: Activate during damage calculation in your opponent's turn. Halve the Battle Damage you take from that battle, and Special Summon 1 monster from your Graveyard whose ATK is equal to or lower than the Battle Damage you took].

This trap can halve battle damage Yusei is going to receive from battle. Max Warrior is destroyed by Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. Yusei gets surprised a bit by the impact he receives from the strike, which seems to be real damage. The attack causes Yusei's LP to drop to 3150 (4000-[800-2500]/2). In addition to the effect of Shock Reborn, Yusei can special summon a monster with ATK equal or less than the battle damage he has just took from the cemetery. He therefore special summons Oneshot Booster from the graveyard to the field in attack position. Setting a card, Ghost ends his turn.

Note: Max Warrior now has 800 ATK, which is its own DEF. In the prior 2nd turn, Ghost plays Labyrinth of Klein to switch ATK and DEF of the attacking monster or Max Warrior until the end of the following turn. Thus, Max Warrior's ATK and DEF is switched until the end phase of this turn.

4th turn - Yusei

Ghost's SPCs 3
Yusei's SPCs 3

Yusei calls for his turn and draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Ghost's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World 2. Both result in 3 SPCs evenly. Yusei thinks about a play to overcome Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity's 2500 ATK and looks at Oneshot Booster on the field and Gauntlet Warrior, Debris Dragon, and Sp - Angel Baton on his hand. From Sp - Angel Baton, Gauntlet Warrior, Debris Dragon, and Oneshot Booster respectively, they all lead to possibility with Stardust Dragon and Meteor Wave.

Note: As a note, Yusei is going to play the cards in order of Sp - Angel Baton, Gauntlet Warrior, Debris Dragon, Oneshot Booster, Stardust Dragon, and Meteor Wave from now on.

Yusei plans to follow this play by activating [Speed Spell - Angel Baton - Normal Spell: You can activate this card if you have 2 Speed Counters or more. Discard 1 card from your hand. Draw 2 cards]. This card requires 2 SPCs to be activated, and Yusei has up to 3 SPCs to satisfy this condition. It allows him to draw 2 cards and discard one card from hand. Yusei decides to discard Gauntlet Warrior.

Next, Yusei summons a tuner monster [Debris Dragon - 4/1000/2000: When this card is successfully Normal Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 monster with 500 ATK or less from your Graveyard in face-up Attack Position. The effect(s) of the monster Special Summoned this way are negated. This card can only be used as a Synchro Material Monster for the Synchro Summon of a Dragon-Type Synchro Monster; The other Synchro Material Monster(s) for this Synchro Summon must be of a Level other than 4] to the field in attack position.

When Debris Dragon is successfully summoned, Yusei can special summon a monster with 500 ATK or less from his graveyard. He thus special summons [Gauntlet Warrior - 3/400/1600: Activate by Releasing this card. Increase the ATK and DEF of all face-up Warrior-Type monsters you control by 500 until the end of the next Damage Step they battle. This effect can be activated during your opponent's turn] to the field in attack position. All tuning elements have been ready. Yusei tunes Debris Dragon into Oneshot Booster and Gauntlet Warrior. "Clustering stars will call upon a new star! Become the path its light shines upon!," he says and synchro summons [Stardust Dragon - 8/2500/2000: When the effect of an Spell, Trap, or Effect monster is activated, that includes "destroy card(s) on the field", by releasing this card , you can negate the activation and destroy that card. In the End-Phase of a turn you use this effect, if the card is in your graveyard, you can Special Summon it to the field] to the field in attack position.

Crow gets excited as the ATK of Yusei's monster is now evenly matched with Ghost's monster. Ghost just chuckles and smiles while watching Yusei's play. Yusei activates the last element in his series plan, opening his face-down trap card [Meteor Wave - Normal Trap: Activate by selecting 1 face-up Synchro Monster you control. Increase that monster's ATK by 300 until the End Phase of this turn. When it attacks a Defense Position monster, if the DEF of that monster is lower than the ATK of the attacking monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points], which can increase ATK of a synchro monster or Stardust Dragon by 300.

Gauntlet Warrior
Effect Monster Card
Meteor Wave
Normal Trap Card

Stardust Dragon's ATK now becomes 2800 (2500+300). By this, Jack sees that Stardust Dragon's ATK exceeds Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity's ATK. Yusei moves into the battle phase, declaring the attack of Stardust Dragon, "Shooting Sonic!." At this moment, Ghost activates the monster effect of Wisel Guard, which is a right arm of the robot and is in defense position (1200 DEF). It can change an attack target to itself, so the attack of Stardust Dragon instead destroys defending Wisel Guard. The robot now loses its guard right arm.

Yusei calls additional effect of Meteor Wave. If his monster can destroy a defense monster in battle, damage equal to the difference must be inflicted to the opponent. Ghost's LP therefore drops to 2400 (4000+1200-2800). Crow is glad to see that Ghost's LP drops dramatically in an instance.

Note: As a reminder, Speed World 2's effect is different from regular Speed World. No Speed Counter decreases for losing 1000 LP. Please review the effect of Speed World 2 at the bottom of this page for details.

Yusei has just understood that although 5 monsters of Ghost are unioned, they are not treated as 1 card. Thus, only right arm is destroyed. Yusei has seemed to misunderstand from the beginning that Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity is an individual monster. He sets up a face-down card and ends his turn.

Ghost looks at data on screen and checks Yusei's profile. He originally merely understood that Yusei wasn't an ordinary man. However, he did pick an interesting opponent as Yusei is the one who crushed down Goodwin. Ghost looks at Yusei riding in front of him. He would like to give him some greeting by showing something interesting.

5th turn - Ghost

Ghost's SPCs 4
Yusei's SPCs 4

A turn moves to Ghost, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Yusei's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World 2. Both result in 4 SPCs evenly. Ghost normal summons [Wise Guard 3 - 3/0/2000: Destroy this card if you do not control an "Infinity" monster. When your opponent's monster declares an attack, you can change the attack target to this card] in defense position. Wise Guard 3 becomes a right arm of the robot in place of the missing arm. Crow is stunned by what the monster is as it is unioned to become an arm of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. Jack understands that they are union monsters. Although one part is missing, a new part can replace and power up.

Note: Not to be confused by what characters are calling. None of Wisel monsters are a union monster but a normal effect monster. They are on the field as 5 monsters in 5 monster card zones. Anime just presents that they are all unioned into 1 appearance.

Yusei is looking stunned. Ghost tells him that his effort is useless. Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity is immortal. Yusei understands that even a part is destroyed, a new part can replace it and keep reviving. The 5 cards all support and supplement one another. They become more trouble to Yusei than expected. Ghost hopes that Yusei has already been aware of Machine Emperor's terror. Anyway, he calls that true terror is coming from now on.

Yusei begins to ask what has doubted him. If Ghost has this much power, Yusei doesn't understand why he has to target and attack D-Wheelers. Ghost explains that his intention isn't going after D-Wheeler. He just wants to eliminate unnecessary things from this world. Yusei looks confused by what unnecessary things are. Ghost explains that they are things called "Synchro Monster!."

Synchro monsters are called to be proof of humans' evolution. They are considered unnecessary to this world. Ghost hopes that Yusei will feel the power of "Synchro Killer" completely. He activates the monster effect of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, making Stardust Dragon bound by its infinity power.

Ghost explains that Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity can absorb ATK of an opponent's monster once per turn. Besides being bound, Stardust Dragon is consumed and vanishes into Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. Jack, Crow, and Yusei are all shocked by that Stardust Dragon is taken. At this moment, Yusei has just totally understood the meaning of Ushio's last message at the hospital (episode 65). Ushio warned him not to play Synchro against Ghost. It's because he knew the monster effect of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity that can take a synchro monster from the opponent's field an equip it with itself. It is a robot able to capture a synchro monster.

Note: Stardust Dragon is taken from Yusei's field and equipped with Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. It is now on a Ghost's spell/trap card zone.

With the ATK of Stardust Dragon, Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity's ATK becomes 5000 (2500+2500). Everyone is stunned by such powerful strength. Ghost moves into battle phase and declares the attack of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity to Yusei directly. He hopes Yusei be defeated by the power of his own monster. Crow sees that this is very bad for Yusei. If Yusei takes this direct attack while having 3150 ATK left, he will be finished off immediately. Yusei crosses his eyes over the attack of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity coming after him.

EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 2

Ghost tells Yusei to be smashed by the single blow of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. At this moment, Yusei opens his face-down trap card [Scrap-Iron Scarecrow ~ Kuzutetsu No Kakashi - Normal Trap: Activate only when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Negate the attack, and Set this card face-down again instead of sending it to the Graveyard] to negate the attack of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity. This trap card then can be reset to face-down position. Ghost is annoyed by how persistent Yusei is. Setting 2 face-down cards, he ends his turn.

6th turn - Yusei

Ghost's SPCs 5
Yusei's SPCs 5

Vehicler
Effect Monster Card

A turn moves to Yusei, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Ghost's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World 2. Both result in 5 SPCs evenly. Yusei normal summons [Vehicler - 2/200/200: When this card is destroyed by battle, you can Special Summon 1 "Uncycler" from your hand or Deck] to the field in defense position, sets up 1 face-down card, and ends his turn. Ghost chuckles and wonders whether Yusei can't do anything else. Yusei is well aware that he has no card on hand which can now turn this game on. He therefore can't do anything but bear it for now.

7th turn - Ghost

Ghost's SPCs 6
Yusei's SPCs 6

Ghost calls his turn and draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Yusei's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World 2. Both result in 6 SPCs evenly. Ghost opens his face-down trap card [Wise A3 - Normal Trap: Activate by Releasing 1 "Wisel Attack" you control. Special Summon 1 "Wisel Attack 3" from your hand]. By its effect, he releases Wisel Attack, which is currently a left arm of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, to special summon [Wisel Attack 3 - 3/1600: Destroy this card if you do not control an "Infinity" monster. When an "Infinity" monster you control attacks a Defense Position monster, and that monster's DEF is lower than the ATK of the attacking monster, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent's Life Points] from hand.

Wise A3
Normal Trap Card
Wisel Attack 3
Effect Monster Card

Wise Attack 3 is equipped as a left arm of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity in place of Wisel Attack. By this new equipped monster, the attack of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity becomes 5400 (500+1600+0+800+2500). Ghost then declares the attack of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, but Yusei negates it by Scrap-Iron Scarecrow. Crow sees that Yusei could bear it this time. Jack thinks that Yusei can't be relax yet. Yusei will be defeated if the attack Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity can pass through. Crow is afraid that he has no chance to win in this moment when his ace card, Stardust Dragon, is taken.

Battle Return
Normal Trap Card

Yusei and Ghost are now riding closer to the city. Ghost tells Yusei not to think that he could play the same trick with him. He opens his face-down trap card [Battle Return - Normal Trap: Activate only during your turn's Battle Phase. During the Battle Phase only, by halving the ATK of a monster you control which had its attack negated or did not destroy an opponent's monster by battle, it can attack once again]. This card can halve the ATK of a monster on the field to have it attack once more time in the same battle phase.

The ATK of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity is therefore halved to 2700 (5400/2), and Ghost declares its second attack. Crow sees that this is bad because Scrap-Iron Scarecrow can be activated only once per turn. Thus, Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity successfully destroys Vehicler. Ghost activates the monster effect of Wise Attack 3. When an Infinity monster on the field, which Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity in this case, attacks defense-position monster and its ATK is higher than its DEF, damage equal to the difference must be inflict to the opponent.

Yusei's LP thus drops to 650 (3150+200-2700). Yusei activates the monster effect of Vehicler. When it is destroyed in battle, [Uncycler - 1/100/100] can be special summoned from hand or deck. Yusei calls it to the field in attack position. Ghost is amused by what this trash monster can do. He opens his face-down trap card [Trap Recycle - Normal Trap: Activate by sending 1 card from your hand to the Graveyard. Select 1 Trap Card which was activated and sent to the Graveyard this turn, and return it to your hand. You cannot Set that card during this turn]. According to its effect, Ghost can discard 1 card from hand to add 1 trap card activated and sent to the graveyard in this turn to his hand. The trap card he adds to his hand is Battle Return. However, Trap Recycle's effect doesn't allow him to set it in this turn. Ghost's turn is ended here.

Uncycler

Trap Recycle
Normal Trap Card

Crow sees that this is very bad if the trap is set. Battle Return will allow Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity to have 1 more attack in the same battle phase, and Scrap-Iron Scarecrow won't save Yusei from the second attack. Jack isn't satisfied and yells at Yusei, asking what Yusei is doing. He rushes him to beat Ghost quickly as he won't allow any unsightly duel in front of him.

8th turn - Yusei

Ghost's SPCs 7
Yusei's SPCs 7

Yusei calls his turn and draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Ghost's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World 2. Both result in 7 SPCs evenly. Yusei looks at the card he gets, which is Road Runner, and looks worried. Ghost understands that Yusei's expected card hasn't come yet. He tells him that people whose Synchro monsters are taken like Yusei remain only destruction.

Yusei activates the effect of the field spell, Speed World 2. By removing the whole 7 SPCs on Speed World 2, he is able to draw 1 card. His SPCs become 0. Yusei bets everything into this draw. His dragon's birthmark on his right arm then glows. The dragon's birthmarks on the other Signers, Crow, Jack, Ruca, and Aki also glow in response. Ruca understands that Yusei is asking for their power. All birthmarks disappear from the owners' bodies and combine into a completely glowing birthmark of The Crimson Dragon on Yusei's back.

Yusei realizes that his friends are lending him their power. He tells Ghost that no matter what Ghost is going to do, their evolution can't be stopped. This will be a proof of his words. Yusei then draws a shining card on the top of his deck. It's certainly [Savior Dragon ~ Kyouseiryu Savior Dragon - 1/0/0: When this card is used as a Synchro Material, it can be used to Synchro Summon only a "Savior" monster]. Yusei normal summons it to the field in attack position.

Synchro Material
Normal Trap Card

Yusei next opens his face-down trap card [Synchro Material - When you perform a Synchro Summon during the turn you activate this card, you can use monsters on either side of the field as Synchro Material Monsters for that Synchro Summon]. By its effect, it allows Yusei to use monsters as synchro material monsters on either field for synchro summon in this turn. Ghost is very stunned. Yusei activates this effect to bring back his Stardust Dragon currently equipped with Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity on Ghost's field to his own field for synchro summon.

Crow is glad that Yusei finally makes it to get back his Stardust Dragon. Yusei tunes Savior Dragon into Stardust Dragon and Uncycler. "Clustering minds will now become a new miracle. Become the path its light shines upon! Synchro Summon! Descend, Savior Star Dragon!," he says and synchro summons [Savior Star Dragon - 10/3800/3000: When your opponent activates an effect of a Spell, Trap, or Effect Monster Card, you can Release this card to negate that activation, and destroy all cards your opponent controls. Once per turn, you can negate the effect(s) of 1 face-up monster your opponent controls until the End Phase. Also, you can treat that monster's effect(s) as this card's effect(s) and activate it once. Return this card to the Extra Deck during the End Phase, and Special Summon 1 "Stardust Dragon" from your Graveyard] onto the field in attack position.

Note: Savior Dragon (Tuner Monster) has 1 star while Stardust Dragon and Uncycler (Non-Tuner Monster) have 8 and 1 stars respectively. Their stars are added up to 10 (1+8+1), the star level of Savior Star Dragon (Synchro Monster) exactly.

Without Stardust Dragon, the ATK of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity reduces to 2900 (5400-2500). Ghost claims that although Yusei attacks, Wisel Guard 3 in defense position will become an attack target according to its monster effect. Yusei feels sorry to Ghost. The monster effect of Savior Star Dragon can negate the effect of an opponent's monster until the end phase. Ghost argues that although Yusei's attack against Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity is successful, he won't be defeated by this single attack yet.

Note: Ghost currently has 2400 LP. If Savior Star Dragon (3800 ATK) destroys Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity (2900 ATK), Ghost's LP will merely drop to 1500 (2400+2900-3800).

Yusei smiles as he has already been able to catch up Ghost's play. Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity is actually comprised of 5 monsters. When the effect of Wisel Guard 3 is negated, Yusei can freely choose any part as an attack target. He doesn't need to attack the main body of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity with 2900 ATK. Ghost is afraid that Yusei has finally been aware of it.

The part Yusei selects is a head part, Wisel Top, which has the lowest ATK of 500. He declares the attack of Savior Star Dragon, "Shooting Blaster Sonic!," to destroy Wisel Top. This strike reduces Ghost's LP to 0 in an instance (500+2900-3800). Ghost is eventually defeated.

Duel End

Ghost's D-Wheel rides off the duel driveway, crashes the forest down there, and explodes. Crow and Jack see that they have to hurry to go down and save him. Ghost's D-Wheel is totally broken. Placido appears and takes out a panel from the D-Wheel. He sees Savior Star Dragon still flying in the sky and thinks that Yusei is such an interesting guy. Soon, this type of robot will be used. Placido chuckles and walks away.

Jack, Crow, and Yusei quickly run into Ghost. Yusei is worried about him and asks whether he is okay. Crow plans to take Ghost to the hospital. Once he is about to touch Ghost's left arm, the arm is broken and drops to the ground. It is an artificial arm which reveals that Ghost's whole body and his D-Wheel are totally a robot. This is the robot Placido mentioned earlier. Jack, Crow, and Yusei look very confused and don't understand what this means.

Yusei, Jack, Crow, Rua, Ruca, Aki, Mikage, and Ushio gather at Yusei's house. They are looking at the pictures of Ghost on a table. Ushio explains that this is [Riding Roid] that the security has been developing. It's a robot that controls violation of D-Wheel. Mikage notes that it was stolen 10 days ago. Nobody explains that it would be a true identity of Ghost. Jack doubts who is actually behind this. Ushio has no idea. That damage from a duel becomes real and that the Roid was stolen from the security are all the things he doesn't understand.

Ushio thinks that a memory ship on the Riding Roid should remain. Yusei notes that no data remain in a riding duel chip. He throws the chip to Ushio and explains that a program seems to be set that when a duel results in defeat, all data will be erased. Ushio is surprised by that Yusei took the security chip and checked it as he pleased. Crow tells Ushio not to call like that. It's safer for it to be checked by Yusei than the security's investigation. Ushio gets his points and can't argue further. Mikage seems tired of this and just lets it be.

Rua looks at the picture of the robot and would like to see it. Ruca tells him to be aware that there are many people getting hurt because of this robot. She would like him to be serious about it, so Rua apologizes her. Crow doubts who is manipulating this robot to crush Synchro Monsters and for what purpose he is doing. Jack has no idea. It's just clear to him that a new enemy has already appeared.

Yusei thinks that Jack is right. If the enemy is going to threaten this town, they have no choice but keep fighting. Crow and Jack smile as agreement. Yusei reminds himself of damage he received from the duel. It's a real thing. When the Dark Signers don't exist during this time, he wonders whether a new threat is approaching.
