EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 1

The riding duel between Crow and Bommer is continued. Bommer successfully summons a Dark Synchro Monster, Dark Flat Top, to the field in attack position. Crow looks stunned by its huge shape but thinks that size doesn't matter. Bigger doesn't always mean better. Bommer is afraid that there is no such a monster in his deck. He activates the monster effect of Dark Sea Rescue, which allows him draw 1 card when it is used to summon a synchro monster and when the summoned synchro monster is in defense position.

Dark Sea Rescue is used as a synchro material to synchro summon Dark Flat Top in defense position, so Bommer can draw 2 cards for 2 conditions. Also, he activates the monster effect of Dark Flat Top to special summon Giant Bomber Air Raid from the graveyard once per turn. Crow is very surprised by the effect that he has never known. Yusei understands that this means if Dark Flat Top can't be beaten, Giant Bomber Air Raid will be invincible.

Bommer special summons Giant Bomber Air Raid from the graveyard to the field by Dark Flat Top's effect. Also, he activates the monster effect of Giant Bomber Air Raid, "Sharp Shooting!". By sending Star Blast from his hand to the cemetery, Giant Bomber Air Raid can destroy 1 card on the field. Bommer selects to apply this effect to destroy Armored Wing.

Bommer moves to the battle phase to declare the attack of Giant Bomber Air Raid, "Death Air Raid!," to destroy Black Feather - Hurricane Gale. The strike causes Crow's Black Bird D-Wheel to spin and crash. Crow struggles to hold himself up while his LP drops to 900 (2600+1300-3000). Because he loses more than 1000 damage points in a strike, he has to lose 1 SPC (1700/1000: remainders are irrelevant) following the effect of Speed World. Crow now has only 4 SPCs (5-1).

Crow's SPCs 4
Bommer's SPCs 4

Yusei and Bommer park their D-Wheels as Crow can't continue the duel now. Bommer hopes that the game is over. He sees that Crow isn't in a condition to continue dueling. Yusei steps down from his D-Wheel, and Crow quickly stops him from getting closer. Crow tries to hold himself up and tells Yusei to step away. He calls that this duel hasn't been over yet, walking to his collapsing D-Wheel. Bommer is surprised by that Crow can still move. Crow reaches his D-Wheel and thinks about his dear kids. Until he can defeat the Dark Signers, he definitely won't give up. Otherwise, the kids will never find peace.

Crow checks the machine and strongly believes that his Black Bird D-Wheel can still fight. He turns on the engine. Black Bird D-Wheel then begins to ride on for a round and turns back to park in front of Crow. Duel data are returned on screen. Bommer is surprised by that Crow's D-Wheel is still alive. Crow tells him that he and his Black Bird D-Wheel haven't given up yet. The duel is now resumed, and Crow begins to ride on. Bommer also starts to follow Crow.

Bommer understands that Crow is trying to release his anger of losing his dear children by defeating him. Crow's feeling is now the same as Bommer's. Bommer recalls a moment at his village. The village where he grew up was as poor as Satellite. Just like Crow, Bommer learned everything from Duel Monster cards and tried to pass everything to his siblings and children in the village. However, the dream would never came true. His village was later burned out and exterminated.

Bommer comes back to reality and resumes the duel still in his turn. Placing a face-down card, he ends his turn. Crow feels pain inside and holds his body. He thinks that a couple rids may be broken. He doesn't feel much power from his entire body but realizes that he has no time to complain or care about it.

7th turn - Crow

Crow's SPCs 5
Bommer's SPCs 5

A turn comes to Crow, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Bommer's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World. Both result in 5 SPCs (4+1) evenly. Crow begins to think about annoying monster effect of Giant Bomber Air Raid that can destroy a summoned monster. If he carelessly summons a monster and takes a lot of damage, he won't be able to bear it this time. Meanwhile, Yusei is riding closely after Crow. He is aware that Crow has already been injured from the prior crash. Crow then decides to end his turn immediately without doing anything in this turn.

8th turn - D・Bommer

Crow's SPCs 6
Bommer's SPCs 6

A turn moves to Bommer, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Crow's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World. Both result in 6 SPCs (5+1) evenly. Bommer clearly sees that Crow has run out of choice. Crow challenges Bommer by asking whether Bommer really thinks so. He says that he has 2 face-down cards, and one of them is a card that can get rid of all Bommer's monsters. Bommer looks stunned. Crow warns Bommer to make a choice carefully as Crow begins to speed up to get away from Bommer. Bommer thinks that although what Crow said is true, he still has another move. He looks a card on his hand, which is [Dark Sea Float - 1/0/300: When this card on the field is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard, draw 1 card]. He is still convinced by that his victory won't fall.

Bommer activates the monster effect of Giant Bomber Air Raid, "Sharp Shooting!," discarding Dark Sea Float to the graveyard to discard a face-down card of Crow. The destroyed is Fake Feather. Crow feels sorry to Bommer that he made a wrong choice. He challenges that if Bommer attacks him now, his monsters will be totally destroyed. Bommer asks whether Crow really thinks that he is listening to his bluff. Crow's field is widely open. If he receives a direct attack, this duel will be ended by his defeat. Thus, Bommer sees his struggle just a desperate bluff.

Crow challenges Bommer to test it by himself. Bommer hopes this duel will be ended. He moves to battle phase and declares the attack of Giant Bomber Air Raid, "Death Air Raid!," toward Crow directly. Crow has already waited for this moment. He opens his face-down trap card [Black Feather - Back Flash - Counter Trap: Activate this card only when there are 5 or more "Black Feather" monsters in your Graveyard and when your opponent declares an attack. Destroy all monsters on your opponent's field]. According to its effect, when there are at least 5 Black Feather monsters in Crow's graveyard and he receives a direct attack, all monsters on the opponent's field must be destroyed.

Dark Sea Float
Monster Card
Black Feather - Back Flash
Monster Card

Crow now has exact 5 Black Feather monsters in the graveyard to satisfy this condition: Black Feather - Black-Lance Blast, Black Feather - Hurricane Gale, Black Feather - Shura the Blue Flame, Black Feather - Mistral the Silver Shield, and Armored Wing (which is also a Black Feather family member). Thus, all monsters on Bommer's field, Dark Flat Top and Giant Bomber Air Raid, are destroyed as Crow has warned. His single card could fall all of Bommer's fleets.

Bommer has just realized that Crow's earlier talk wasn't a bluff. Crow feels sorry to Bommer as he has never told a lie since he was born. That fact that Bommer didn't believe him did save him this time. Bommer is afraid that it doesn't mean he didn't believe in him. He activates the monster effect of Dark Sea Float earlier sent to the cemetery to activate Giant Bomber Air Raid's effect. When Dark Sea Float is sent to the graveyard by a card's effect, he can draw 1 card.

Notes: There may be some arguments on the activation of Dark Sea Float at this point. First of all, the effect of Dark Sea Float indicates that it must be destroyed by a card effect when it is on the FIELD so that Bommer can draw 1 card. However, Bommer sends Dark Sea Float to the graveyard when it is on his HAND by the effect of Giant Bomber Air Raid. Thus, he shouldn't be able to draw a card by the monster effect of Dark Sea Float sent from hand to the graveyard. Second, the effect of Giant Bomber Air Raid to discard 1 card is normally a cost to satisfy its monster effect. Regularly, paying a cost by discarding 1 card on hand isn't considered to be discarding by a card effect. Thus, Dark Sea Float discarded for a cost of Giant Bomber Air Raid's effect shouldn't be effective and shouldn't allow Bomber to draw 1 card, either. A good sample of this similar play can be seen in Dark World deck. Please keep in mind this discrepancy only on anime duel.

Bommer looks at the drawn card, smiles, and places a face-down card. He calls that Crow has just moved following his plan and opens his face-down trap card [The Unpurified Earth ~ Kegasareta Daichi - Trap: Activate this card when 2 or more monster on your field, 1 of which has a level 8 or higher, are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard in this turn. Special Summon 1 "Earthbound God" from your Hand, Deck, or Graveyard onto your side of the field. The "Earthbound God" monster Special Summoned by this effect cannot attack and its effect cannot be activated in this turn]. According to its effect in the turn when 2 or more monsters with level 5 or higher are destroyed, an Earthbound God can be special summoned from his hand, deck, or graveyard.

Crow and Yusei become very surprised by coming of Bommer's Earthbound God. A heart-shape object appears in the air and starts to consume people's souls to make it beat. At this point of time, Bommer hasn't been aware yet whose souls are used as sacrifices for this Earthbound God. Following the effect of The Unpurified Earth, he special summons [Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua ~ Jibakushin Chacu Challhua - 10/2900/1600: If this card is face-up on the field, you cannot Summon, Reverse Summon, or Special Summon a card with "Earthbound" in its name. If a Field Magic is not face-up on the field, this card's following effects are negated and this card is destroyed at the End Phase. This card can attack the opposing player directly. The opposing player cannot target this card with an attack. This card cannot be affected by your opponent's Magic or Trap cards. While this card is in face-up Defense Position, your opponent cannot conduct Battle Phase. Once per turn, you can inflict damage to your opponent equal to a half of this card's DEF. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is used] to the field in attack position.

The Unpurified Earth

Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua
Monster Card

Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua descends a form of The Killer Whale. Crow looks amazed by its giant shape. Yusei tells Crow to be very careful about it. Crow sees that an Earthbound God finally appears. Anyway, due to the effect of The Unpurified Earth, Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua special summoned by its effect can't attack or activate its effect in this turn. Bommer's turn therefore ends at this point.

9th turn - Crow

Crow's SPCs 7
Bommer's SPCs 7

Black Feather - Foehn The Steel Chain
Monster Card

A turn comes to Crow, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Bommer's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World. Both result in 7 SPCs (6+1) evenly. Crow sees that Bommer has 1800 LP left, and he now has no monster that can stand up against the Earthbound God's ATK. He decides to summon [Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain ~ BF (Black Feather) - Tessa No Foehn - 2/500/800: This card can attack your opponent directly. When this card inflicts Battle Damage to your opponent by a direct attack, change 1 face-up monster your opponent controls to Defense Position. The monster cannot change the Position until the end phase of the next turn] to the field in attack position.

Bommer is afraid that a monster with 500 ATK can't do anything against his Earthbound God. Crow corrects him that this card isn't used to fight the Earthbound God. His target is at Bommer as Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain can attack the opponent directly. Crow moves to his battle phase, declaring the attack of Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain to strike Bommer directly. Bommer's LP drops to 1300 (1800-500). Bommer doesn't look much worried as he believes that Crow will be attacked and crushed down by his Earthbound God in the next turn.

Crow asks whether Bommer really thinks so. Bommer is then surprised by seeing Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua diving and changing into defense position. Crow explains the monster effect of Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain that when it can inflict damage to the opponent directly, 1 face-up monster on the opponent field must be changed to defense position until the end of the next turn. Thus, Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua won't be able to changes its defense position until the end of Bommer's next turn, which means Bommer can't declare its attack.

Note: In anime effect of Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua, it can't be affected by any spell or trap card, which doesn't include a monster effect. Thus, the monster effect of Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain works on the Earthbound God.

Crow says that it doesn't matter how strong a monster is if it can't attack. Yusei is glad that Crow did it well. Setting a face-down card, Crow ends his turn.

10th turn - D・Bommer

Crow's SPCs 8
Bommer's SPCs 8

A turn comes to Bommer, and he draws a card. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Crow's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World. Both result in 8 SPCs (7+1) evenly. Bommer is afraid that Crow has already misunderstood something big. He activates the monster effect of Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua. When it doesn't attack, it can inflict battle damage equal to a half of its DEF to the opponent.

Crow is getting shocked as Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua while emerging from the ground surface. Bommer orders Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua to attack Crow by its monster effect, "Dark Dive Attack!." This strike reduces Crow's LP to 100 (900-1600/2). Crow's Black Bird D-Wheel spins around by the impact, but he can still take control it.

Basara
Trap Card

Bommer next summons another Dark Sea Rescue to the field in attack position and opens his face-down trap card [Basara - Permanent Trap: Once per turn, you can Release 1 monster on your field to activate this card effect. Destroy 1 monster on the field whose level is higher than the level of the Released monster. The controller of the destroyed monster receives 800 damage points]. According to its effect, once per turn, he can release a monster on the field to destroy a monster on field with a level higher than the released monster's level. Also, the controller of the destroyed monster must take 800 damage points.

Bommer decides to release Dark Sea Rescue with level 1 to destroy Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain with level 2, whose level is higher to satisfy the condition. Crow is getting stunned. He now has only 100 LP left. Yusei is concerned by that Crow will lose immediately if he takes 800 damage points by the effect of Basara. Fire from Basara is now moving quickly toward Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain.

EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 2

Ushio, Rua, and Ruca are now riding along the flaming geoglyph. Rua is very surprised by many surrounding ruins on the street. It seems to Ushio that they were all attacked by an air raid. Ushio doubts what's going on here. Ruca is worried about Yusei and hopes that he will be safe.

Bomb Guard
Trap Card

The duel between Crow and bommer is now at critical point. Yusei is concerned by that Crow will be defeated immediately if he receives damage from the effect of Basara. There is no way Crow can let it happen. He quickly opens his face-down trap card [Bomb Guard - Trap: Activate only when a card is activated with an effect that would target and destroy 1 monster you control. Negate the effect and destroy that card. Then Inflict 500 damage to your opponent], which can be activated when an effect to destroy a monster is played. This trap card can negate it and inflict 500 damage points to the opponent. Bommer's plan is countered, and his LP decreases to 800 (1300-500). Bommer is surprised by that Crow could dodge his attack at this rate. Yusei looks glad that Crow has done well.

11th turn - Crow

Crow's SPCs 9
Bommer's SPCs 9

A move comes back to Crow. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Bommer's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World. Both result in 9 SPCs (8+1) evenly. Crow looks at the last card on his hand, which is Parasite Mind. If he gets nothing, he is going to lose certainly. Everything lies on his next draw. Crow thinks about his dear kids and hopes that they are going to lend him power.

Crow draws and gets Black Feather - North Pole Blizzard. It's exactly what he wants, so he thanks the kids for granting him his wish. Crow faces down Parasite Mind and summons a tuner monster [Black Feather - North Pole Blizzard ~ BF (Black Feather) - Kyokuhoku Blizzard - 2/1300/1: This card cannot be Special Summoned. When this card is successfully summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster with "Black Feather" in its name that is in your Cemetery in face-up defense mode] to the field in attack position.

According to the monster effect of Black Feather - North Pole Blizzard, when it is summoned to the field successfully, a Black Feather monster with level 4 or less can be special summoned from the graveyard in defense position. Thus, Crow special summons Black Feather - Shura the Blue Flame from the cemetery to the field in defense mode. He next tunes Black Feather - North Pole Blizzard into Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain and Black Feather - Shura the Blue Flame.

"Gust fiercely, storm! Gain the will of steel and the speed of light to sublime your form! , Synchro Summon! Black Feather - Line Silver Wind!," Crow says and synchro summons [Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind ~ BF (Black Feather) - Kyokuhoku Blizzard - 8/2800/2000: When this card is Synchro Summoned, you can select up to 2 face-up monsters on the field that have DEF lower than this card's ATK and destroy them. During the turn this effect is activated, you cannot conduct your Battle Phase. Also, once only during your opponent's turn when you control this face-up card, "Black Feather" monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle] to the field in attack position.

Black Feather - North Pole Blizzard
Tuner Monster Card
Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind
Synchro Monster Card

Note: Black Feather - North Pole Blizzard (Tuner Monster) has 2 stars while Black Feather - Foehn the Steel Chain and Black Feather - Shura the Blue Flame (Non-Tuner Monster) have 2 and 4 stars respectively. Their stars are added up to 8 (2+2+4), the star level of Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind (Synchro Monster) exactly.

Bommer is afraid that Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua still has a monster effect. When it is in defense position, an opponent's battle phase must be skipped. Crow calls that his Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind also has a monster effect. During this turn, instead of conducting a battle, it can destroy up to 2 monsters with DEF lower than its ATK. This monster effect makes Bommer very stunned.

Crow tells Bommer that he may not be able to win in battle, but he can surely destroy an Earthbound God by a monster effect (Only spell/trap cards can't be played against an Earthbound God, but a monster effect is still effective). He is about to order Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind to attack Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua but has to stop when he sees pictures of kids appearing at the body of Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua and asking for help. The kids are asking someone to help and release them.

Yusei and Crow become very surprised by what's going on and why those kids' faces are appearing. Bommer asks Crow what's wrong. If Crow doesn't attack, Bommer plans to run on his turn. Crow asks whether Bommer doesn't see it. Bommer says that he sees only a goal of victory. Yusei tells Bommer to hold on and take a look at Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua carefully. Bommer looks stunned and doesn't want to believe when he sees the children and people from his hometown crying inside the body of Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua.

Bommer doesn't understand how they are now inside the Earthbound God. Crow and Yusei understand that those kids are Bommer's siblings. Bommer wonders whether this means the Dark Signers not the Crimson Dragon destroyed his hometown. He feels upset to what for he has dueled this far and begins to lower his speed. Yusei speeds down following Bommer and encourages him to spot this fight as it serves no more purpose. Bommer apologizes Yusei as he is wrong and they are right.

Without finishing his words, Bommer is taken control by darkness. Rudger's voice comes through his head to force him to continue fighting. He reminds Bommer that he is a Dark Signer reborn from the underworld, so he has to keep fighting and killing all Signers. The Killer Whale's birthmark begins to glow along with the Dark Signers' pattern on Bommer's face, and the power of the Dark Signers takes control Bommer's body.

Bommer speeds up and calls himself to be a Dark Signer who will erase this world by the darkness of the underworld. Crow is surprised by what's going on with him. Bommer is trying to fight with the power of the Dark Signers to take control his normal sense. The Killer Whale's birthmark on his right arm is now flashing and trying to force him to duel. Bommer asks Crow to defeat him now and the captured souls inside the Earthbound God will be released.

Crow hesitates and finally doesn't apply the monster effect of Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind to destroy Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua. Bommer eventually loses his mind, and his body is now controlled completely the power of the Dark Signers. He decides to run his turn after seeing Crow stopping his turn without doing anything else.

12th turn - D・Bommer

Crow's SPCs 10
Bommer's SPCs 10

Bommer quickly draws a card to run his turn. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added to his and Crow's SPC gauges following the effect of Speed World. Both result in 10 SPCs (9+1) evenly. Bommer changes Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua to attack position with 2900 ATK and moves battle phase. He activates the monster effect of Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua to have it attack Crow directly.

Yusei calls Crow's attention as Bommer isn't his true self now. He also tells Crow not to waste Bommer's wish. His words make Crow come up with a solution. An Earthbound God can't be affected by Crow's trap or spell cards. However, it doesn't include the effect from the trap/spell cards of Bommer himself. Bommer calls Crow to die as he believes that Crow shall be finished by this direct strike.

Parasite Mind
Trap Card

Crow opens his last face-down trap card [Parasite Mind - Trap: During your opponent's turn, activate this card by selecting 1 face-up Permanent Spell or Permanent Trap card on your opponent's field. You can activate its effect and gain control the card], which allows him to activate a permanent trap's effect of Bommer's continuous trap card or Basara. Once per turn, he is able to release a monster on the field to destroy 1 monster with level higher than the destroyed monster and inflict 800 damage points to the opponent. Crow therefore selects to destroy Black Feather - Lone Silver Wind with level 8 to have Basara destroy Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua with level 10.

Note: There may be an argument in Parasite Mind's effect and how it is played at this point. Japanese texts clearly state that it can ACTIVATE the effect of and gain CONTROL your opponent's continuous trap. However, gaining control Basara may mean that Crow is its controller and makes him unable to use Basara's effect against Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua, which can't be affected by any spell/trap card (Anime effect only).

Fire from Basara pierces through the body of Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua and destroys it. Earthbound God, Chacu Challhua collapses while Bommer's LP drops to 0 exactly (800-800) by the effect of Basara. The game is over, and Crow, who is a Non-Signer, becomes the winner.

Duel End

The flaming geoglyph disappears, but the impact from the last strike severely destroys surrounding buildings. Some giant concrete collapses over Crow, but Bommer jumps over quickly and hits him out of the way. Nevertheless, Bommer gets stuck inside the giant concrete. Both Crow and Yusei hurry to run into him and ask him not to die yet.

Bommer is still concerned about Crow and asks how he is. Crow yells at him and asks why Bommer had to save him. It's because Bommer understands that Crow saved people of his hometown. Since Crow saved those kids, Bommer expects him to raise them well. Crow plans to do that anyway although Bommer didn't say so.

Bommer turns to Yusei and agrees to what he said earlier. Behind revenge is nothing. Bommer then groans and looks in pain. He asks Yusei to defeat the Dark Signers for him. It's his last wish, and Yusei grasps Bommer's hand as a promise to do so. Bommer's body then turns into particles and vanishes. Crow yells and cries for Bommer not to go. Yusei holds his fist tightly and swears to make a promise.

At Bommer's hometown, villagers are all released safely. Among the people are Bommer's brother and sister. They see a big shooting star and thinks that it looks like his big brother, Bommer. They also believe that Big Brother Bommer did save them and hope him to watch this shooting star with them as well.

Yusei is now with Crow, Rua, Ruca, and Ushio, standing by to take off. Crow asks whether Yusei is going after Kiryu now. Yusei tells him that his battle is going to start from now on before taking off under the shooting star in the dark sky.
