Chariot Pile
Trap Card |
MC describes excitedly that Yusei can successfully destroy Giant Bomber Air Raid. At this moment, Bommer opens his face-down trap card [Chariot Pile - Permanent Trap: Once per turn, you can inflict 800 points of damage to the opposing player. Your opponent can release 1 monster on their side of the field to negate this damage. Once per turn, by paying 800 Life Points when an opposing monster attacks directly, you can negate that monster's attack and destroy it]. Once this trap card is activated, true Chariot Piles (spinning blades) are equipped to the wheels of Bommer's D-Wheels. Bommer insists that he won't be defeated, no matter what.
Bommer reminds himself of his past. In a day, Bommer was receiving a call from a staff to participate in an opening ceremony of a tournament. Bommer didn't seem to care as he was more concerned about a mail in his front laptop. The message in the mail was, "Bommer, I couldn't believe until I got there, but what you said is true. I am sorry. I hope from my heat that they will rest in peace".
The meaning of the massage refers to the losing of his dear ones. Bommer declares his strong intention that he won't be defeated by Yusei until he can carry out his mission. At this point, Yusei hasn't been aware of Bommer's true mission yet.
Note: The true mission of Bommer will be addressed at the end of the episode. It actually isn't to awaken Yusei's ability as a Signer.

The turn moves to Bommer. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added into his and Yusei's SPC gauges following by the effect of Speed World. He results to have 6 SPCs (5+1) while Yusei appears to have 4 SPCs (3+1) on their SPCs' gauges respectively. Drawing a card, he activates the effect of Chariot Pile. Once per turn, he can inflict 800 damage points to Yusei: however, Yusei is allowed to avoid this damage by releasing a monster on his field. Bommer asks which choice Yusei would like to make.
Yusei certainly decides to release Massive Warrior in exchange of receiving 800 damage points because he has only 300 LP left. Seeing Yusei pick up the choice to release the monster, Bommer declares to end his turn.

The turn is back to Yusei. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added into his and Bommer's SPC gauges following by the effect of Speed World. He results to have 5 SPCs (4+1) while Bommer ends up with 7 SPCs (6+1) respectively. Drawing a card, Yusei gets Junk Synchron. He counts on his monster before summoning [Junk Synchron 3/1300/500: When this card is successfully Normal
Summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 2 or lower monster
in your Graveyard in face-up defense mode. Any effects of an
Effect Monster Special Summoned by this effect are negated] onto the field in attack position.
With the special effect of Junk Synchron, when it is summoned successfully, Yusei can special summon a monster with level 2 or less from his graveyard. Therefore, he special summons Speed Warrior from the cemetery onto the field in defense position.
Without waiting, Yusei tunes Junk Synchron into Speed Warrior. Bommer is aware of the coming of a Synchro monster. "Clustering stars will call upon a new force! Become the path its light shines upon", Yusei says, declares synchro summon, and calls [Junk Warrior - 5/2300/1300: When this card is Synchro Summoned, this card's attack
power is increased by the total of the attack power of
all Level 2 or lower monsters face-up on your side of
the field] onto the field in attack position.
Note: A Synchro Summon is a new combination between a Tuner and non-Tuner monster. In order to perform a Synchro Summon, the levels of the Tuner and non-Tuner monsters must add up to be the exact level of the desired Synchro monster (no more, no less). Once that is satisfied, the two monsters are sent to the Cemetery, and the Synchro monster can be summoned from the Extra Deck. In this case, Junk Synchron (Tuner Monster) has 3 stars while Speed Warrior (Non-Tuner Monster) has 2 stars. Their stars are added up to 5 (3+2), the star level of Junk Warrior (Synchro Monster) exactly.
Yusei quickly declares the direct attack of Junk Warrior, "Scrap Fist!",toward Bommer. As Junk Warrior is flying toward its target, Bommer tells Yusei that it is too bad because Chariot Pile still has another effect. Once per turn, Bommer can pay 800 LP when the opponent makes a direct attack in order to negate the monster's attack and destroy the monster. Bommer's LP decreases to 2600 (3400-800), and Junk Warrior is destroyed accordingly. Rua feels so pity that Yusei finally lost Junk Warrior that he could synchro summon. Yusei then sets up a face-down card and ends his turn.

The turn comes to Bommer. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added into his and Yusei's SPC gauges following by the effect of Speed World. He results to have 8 SPCs (7+1) while Yusei ends up with 6 SPCs (5+1). Drawing a card, Bommer summons a tuner-monster [Black Bomber - 3/100: When this card is successfully summoned, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 Dark Attribute monster from your Cemetery in defense mode] onto the field in attack position.
Similar to the special effect of Junk Synchron, the special effect of Black Bomber allows it to special summon a dark monster with level 4 from the cemetery onto the field in defense position when Black Bomber is summoned onto the field successfully. Bommer decides to call back Trap Reactor RR from his cemetery onto the field in defense position.
Bommer then tunes Black Bomber into Trap Reactor RR. Yusei is surprised by seeing Bommer playing synchro summon. Bommer tells Yusei that Yusei isn't the only one who plays a synchro monster. He synchro summons [Dark Dive Bomber - 7/2600/1800: Activate the following effect by releasing 1 monster other than this card on your side of the field. Inflict 200 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the released monster's level x200. If you activate this effect, this card cannot declare an attack during this turn. This effect can only be used once per turn] onto the field in attack position.

In this case, Black Bomber (Tuner Monster) has 3 stars while Trap Reactor RR (Non-Tuner Monster) has 4 stars. Their stars are added up to 7 (3+4), the star level of Dark Dive Bomber (Synchro Monster) exactly.
Bommer declares the direct attack of Dark Dive Bomber toward Yusei. Many missiles are fired, falling to Yusei's D-Wheel. At this moment, Yusei opens his face-down trap card [Synchro Spirits - Trap: You can activate this card by removing 1 Synchro Monster in your Cemetery from the game. Special Summon the set of monsters used for this monster's Synchro Summoning from your Cemetery].
According to its effect, Yusei can remove a synchro monster, Junk Warrior, in his cemetery from play to special summon the material monsters used for the synchro monster from the cemetery onto the field. Thus, Junk Warrior is removed from play, and Yusei can call back Junk Synchron and Speed Warrior from the cemetery onto the field in defense position.
Junk Synchron jumps up to receive the coming attack of Dark Dive Bomber. After the explosion, Bommer is surprised by seeing Junk Synchron remain on the field, doubting why it wasn't destroyed. Yusei explains that it is because of the special effect of Shield Warrior in the graveyard. With that special effect, he can remove Shield Warrior in the cemetery from play to negate the destruction of Junk Synchron on the field.
Bommer hasn't given up his strike. He activates the effect of Chariot Pile to inflict 800 damage points to Yusei (This effect can be played once per turn, and Bommer hasn't played in this turn yet). Anyway, the effect allows Yusei to release a monster to negate this damage, so Yusei decides to release Speed Warrior.
Bommer continues his next play by opening his face-down trap card [Ultimate Mine - Trap: Special Summon 1 "Ultimate Mine Token" (Level 10, ATK????/DEF 0) on your side of the field in defense mode. When "Ultimate Mine Token" is destroyed, inflict 800 points of damage to your opponent's Life Points]. This trap allows him to special summon 1 Ultimate Mine Token with 0 DEF onto the field in defense position.

Rua wonders what this token monster is for. Himuro explains that it is a monster that can inflict 800 damage points to the opponent when destroyed. Tempei reminds people that Dark Dive Bomber has a special effect to inflict 200 damage points to the opponent for each level of a monster released to utilize this effect. Himuro notes that Ultimate Mine Token has level 10. Rua tries to count before Ruca quickly tells the result of 2000 damage points (200*10). Yanagi and Rua become pretty shocked by such a huge damage.
Bommer tells Yusei that Yusei has been sealed again. In his next turn, Yusei's LP will be 0 when he activates the special effect of Dark Dive Bommer to release Ultimate Mine Token and inflict 2000 damage points to Yusei. Yusei has only 300 LP left, so he will certainly be defeated. Bommer ends his turn at this point.
Note: Dark Dive Bommer's OCG and anime effects appear different at this point. In anime effect, Bommer isn't allowed to activate the effect to inflict damage points to Yusei if he declares an attack of Dark Dive Bommer in a turn. In the 9th turn, Bommer declares the attack of Dark Dive Bommer in his battle phase, so he is unable to release Ultimate Mine Token to inflict 2000 damage points (200*10) to Yusei in his second main phase. However, in OCG effect, it doesn't state that this effect can't be used if Dark Dive Bomber attacks in a turn. In other words, according to OCG effect, Bommer can release Ultimate Mine Token to inflict 2000 damage points to Yusei in the second main phase even though Dark Dive Bomber attacks in the 9th turn. Then, Yusei would be defeated.

The last chance comes to Yusei. In his standby phase, 1 Speed Counter is added into his and Bommer's SPC gauges following by the effect of Speed World. He results to have 7 SPCs (6+1) while Bommer ends up with 9 SPCs (8+1). MC describes that Yusei has 0 card on his hand, so he has been driven against a wall. Everything depends on his next draw.
Yusei draws a card and gets Tuning Supporter. He bets everything on this card and summons [Tuning Supporter - 1/100/300: If this card is used for a Synchro Monster's Synchro Summoning and sent to the Cemetery, draw 1 card from your deck] onto the field in attack position. He quickly tunes Junk Synchron into Tuning Supporter, synchro summoning [Arms Aid - 4/1800/1200: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, you can treat this card as an Equip Card and equip it to a monster, or free it from being an Equip and Special Summon it in face-up attack mode. Increase the equipped monster's attack power by 1000 points only if this card is being treated as an Equip Card via this effect. When the equipped monster destroys an opposing monster by way of battle and sends it to the Cemetery, inflict damage to your opponent's Life Points equal to the attack power of the destroyed monster] onto the field in attack position.
Note: A Synchro Summon is a new combination between a Tuner and non-Tuner monster. In order to perform a Synchro Summon, the levels of the Tuner and non-Tuner monsters must add up to be the exact level of the desired Synchro monster (no more, no less). Bommer doubts what Arms Aid with 1800 attack points can do. Yusei explains the special effect of Tuning Supporter that when this monster is used for synchro summon, he is able to draw a card. MC describes excitedly that this should be destiny draw for Yusei as the gang is all concerned about him. Yusei draws a card calmly and slowly flips it up. He smiles as the card he has waited for has come. It is Speed Spell - Synchro Return.
 |
Speed Spell - Synchro Return
Speed Spell Card |
Yusei activates the speed spell card [Speed Spell - Synchro Return ~ Sp - Synchro Return - Spell: You can activate this card if your Speed Counters are 5 or more. Special Summon 1 Synchro Monster removed from the game. In addition, this Synchro Monster will be removed from the game during the End Phase of that turn]. This speed spell requires at least 5 Speed Counters on Speed World to be activates. Yusei has 7 Speed Counters, which are sufficient to satisfy this condition. Speed Spell - Synchro Return allows Yusei to special summon a synchro monster removed from play onto the field.
Thus, Yusei special summons Junk Warrior earlier removed from play by the effect of Synchro Spirits onto the field in attack position. At this moment, Yusei activates the special effect of Arms Aid, surprising Bommer very much. Arms Aid can be equipped with Junk Warrior's arm and boosts its ATK by 1000. The attack points of Junk Warrior totally become 3300 (2300+1000). Bommer is amazed by that the ATK of Junk Warrior is now higher than Dark Dive Bomber's. Without waiting, Yusei declares the attack of Junk Warrior, "Power Gear Fist!", to destroy Arms Aid. This strike reduces Bommer's LP to 1900 (2600+2600-3300).
Yusei then activates the remaining special effect of Arms Aid. When it can destroy an opposing monster, damage points equal to the attack points of the destroyed monster, which is 2600 ATK of Dark Dive Bomber, must be inflicted to the opponent. Bommer looks at largely flame arm coming behind from Junk Warrior. The big arm of Arms Aid strikes Bommer and reduces his LP to 0 finally. (1900-2600).
Duel End
Bommer's D-Wheel spins around as Yusei is riding pass him. It finally stops, and a lot of smokes flies off from Bommer's D-Wheel. Yusei's gang all cheers up to his great victory. Anyway, Tempei notices something unusual that the duel has already ended, but Chariot Pile attached to D-Wheel hasn't disappeared yet. At the observation tower, Jaeger feels pity to the result of the duel. Rex sees that Yusei's ability as a Signer hasn't been awakened yet. Jack expresses his feeling Bommer's duel that it's such a disgrace. Bommer's mission appears to be a shallow thing after all. Jack then gets up and is about to leave.
MC declares the official result of the first semifinal match of Duel Fortune Cup to the audiences. The winner is the shooting star of Satellite, Yusei Fudo, who could win over the black storm, Bommer, and can next advance.
Yusei is staying on his D-Wheel, standing in front of Bommer. Bommer steps out from his broken D-Wheel and interrupts MC's announcement by talking through a public microphone. Everyone in the stadium can hear his words. Bommer addresses to let everyone hear that he is glad for Yusei. It's a very splendid game.
Jack hearing Bommer's voice quickly turns back. Jaeger is surprised by what's going on. MC tries to check his microphone, but it doesn't work. His voice is completely interrupted by Bommer's broadcast. Bommer accepts his defeat to people, but his mission hasn't been over yet. Rua doubts what mission Bommer is talking about. Bommer reveals his true mission that he planned to win this tournament and brought what Rex Godwin did to the public at the ceremony. However, it becomes a dream that has never come true. Bommer therefore decides to take revenge right here now.

Yusei looks confused by what revenge Bommer is talking about. Bommer points Yusei to the visual screen displaying Bommer's village. The picture is displayed to all the audiences as well. Jaeger is in panic and tries to let someone stop this broadcast. Rex replies shortly that he is fine with it.
Bommer continues his broadcast, describing that this is his village and also his hometown. Godwin exploited his village in order to resurrect the crimson dragon. The result was the destruction of his village, and there appeared large explosion. Jaeger doubts how Bommer can know about this. It makes him and Rex think that Bommer may be a survivor. Rex doesn't say anything while Jack looks very surprised.
Bommer further says that all villagers were missing. Those people also include his brother and sister. Yusei is about to ask further about Bommer's siblings. Bommer makes it straight, telling Yusei and Jack not to believe Godwin. No matter what, they must not give the crimson dragon to him.
Finishing his words, Bommer quickly gets onto his D-Wheel and rides on. Yusei turns back and calls him, but Bommer has already gone too far. Bommer says that the will settle down this by his own hands. It's for all of his friends and siblings at his hometown so that this sorrow won't be repeated. Bommer rides very fast before making high curve and jumping toward the middle observation tower. His goal is to attack Rex standing inside without concerning about his life.
At the same time, Yusei accelerates his D-Wheel and jumps from the other side to block Bommer's way. Both D-Wheels crash strongly in the mid air until Chariot Pile attached to a wheel of Bommer's D-Wheel is separate and flies toward the observation tower. Chariot Pile breaks the glass window and moves toward Rex. Rex rapidly stops it by a left arm. Jaeger looks very scared and collapses onto the floor.
Jack is watching and noticing that the whole left arm of Rex is an artificial arm. Thus, it's strong enough to stop Chariot Pile. Bommer's D-Wheel explodes and can no longer move. Bommer becomes very angry and catches Yusei's collar to pull him up. He asks why Yusei had to stop him. Yusei tells Bommer that he can't forgive what Rex has done, either. He comments that if Bommer is going to settle down this by force, he will be the same as Rex. Bommer cries out loud into the sky although he knows Yusei's goodwill. Rex meanwhile is watching toward them and dropping Chariot Pile onto the floor.

To be continued...
