EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 1

In the detention center, Yusei is standing on the field, confronting Himuro. He is going to duel Himuro by Yanagi's deck that has just been defeated. Himuro asks whether a Satellite scum like Yusei is convinced that he can duel. Yanagi watching Yusei behind is also concerned as he doesn't have confidence in his own deck easily beaten up by Himuro. Yusei replies plainly that Himuro will understand it soon. Himuro is afraid that Yusei will instead be humiliated. Himuro's gang thinks that Yusei better gives up at this point. They doubt what such an awful deck can do and suggest their boss, Himuro, to finish Yusei off.

Yanagi is very worried and asks whether Yusei will be fine. Yusei just tells Yanagi to watch this game carefully while he is looking very calm. Yanagi reminds himself the red dragon he accidentally saw at the duel stadium last night. He knows that Yusei must be a part of this incidence and can't stop asking who Yusei actually is. Yusei doesn't answer to this question and stays still. Himuro tells Yusei that this duel will make him understand his degree of ignorance and position before standing by his duel disk. Yusei having such a serious eyes stands by his duel disk in response. When both of them are ready, the game is declared to begin.

1st Turn - Himuro

Jirai Gumo
Monster Card

Himuro calls for his first turn. Drawing a card, he summons [Jirai Gumo - 4/2200/100: When you declare an attack with this card, toss a coin and call it. If you call it right, attack normally. If you call it wrong, lose half your Life Points before attacking] onto the field in attack position. Yanagi looks scared as seeing such a powerful monster coming out. Himuro's gang begins to cheer his boss up. Jirai Gumo is a powerful level-4 monster with 2200 ATK. The gang cheers Himuro to scare them by this monster even more. Setting up 2 face-down cards, Himuro ends his turn.

As Himuro declares to end his turn, Yusei looks at the cards on his hand, and they are Ashoka Pillar, Stonehenge, Spirit Mask, and Curse-Returner Hitogata Doll, and Crystal. Yanagi looks concerned by whether his cards will work well. At this moment, Yusei tells Yanagi that duels breathe life into cards and breathing is the responsibility of duelists. If the card that was stepped on feels pain (Himuro looked down Yanagi's deck by stepping onto his card in episode 6), to give it joy through a win is also the responsibility of a duelist.

At the same time, the warden or the warden of the detention center, [Takasu], is watching over Himuro's and Yusei's game through the monitors in his office. He decides to pick up a phone, makes a call to Rex at a larger mansion surrounded by big garden, and informs him about this duel. Rex tells Takasu to keep on monitoring them before hanging up. He is currently walking after Jack as reporting him that the Satellite guy is now dueling in the detention center. Jack doesn't say anything back but keeps walking into the mansion with Rex.

The door of the mansion is open, and the two guards bow to Rex and Jack. Rex steps to the front and says that he will lead the king from now on to the room where he has never seen. He leads Jack and enters an elevator. Once the door is closed, Rex has his eye scanned through the security system. He says that Jack is going to witness the true form of the public security maintenance bureau. When the scanning process is done and passed successfully, the elevator is moving down to the underground level.

Both Jack and Rex leave the elevator and walk along the narrow hall. There is no electricity but fires. Jack looks around and notices many line patterns on the wall that are similar to the mark on his arm. The destination is the rock gate that is finally opened for them. When both of them enter the room, the rock gate is closed automatically. As Jack looks concerned, Rex tells him to be relax and turn to pay attention ahead. There is a large rock sanctuary standing in the front. In the entrance of the sanctuary, Jack notices the picture of a dragon attached on a rock sign.

Jack quickly opens his arm and realizes that the dragon picture is similar to the mark on his arm. Rex asks whether Jack can notice that the mark he has is actually the wing part of the crimson dragon that he saw at the duel stadium. Jack keeps thinking about it, the fact which he has never known.

2nd Turn - Yusei

At the detention center, the game between Himuro and Yusei is continued. The second turn moves to Yusei. Drawing a card, he gets Triangle-0. Yanagi notices that Yusei has obtained the same cards that he got in his earlier game. Seeing Yusei taking out Crystal Skull, he tries to stop him and explains that if Yusei plays it, he will receive 1000 damage points due to the special effect of Crystal Skull. The result will be the same as what Yanagi faced in the previous game.

Yusei doesn't seem to care and moves on to summon [Crystal Skull ~ Suishou Dokuro - 1/0/0: The player that Summons, Reverse Summons, or Special Summons this card receives 1000 points of damage] onto the field in defense position. As Yanagi is concerned and warns him, Yusei has to receive 1000 damage points from the special effect of Crystal Skull. His LP decreases to 3000 (4000-1000).

Himuro's gang all laugh at Yusei's play, which is the same as Yanagi's. Himuro isn't pleased after seeing that Yusei is making fun of him. He doesn't want to care if Yusei would like to kill himself by digging his grave like this. Yusei asks Himuro who is digging the grave. Himuro looks stunned by Yusei's response full of confidence.

Curse-Returner Hitogata Doll
Spell Card

Yusei next plays quick-play spell [Curse-Returner Hitogata Doll ~ Noroi Kaeshi No Hitogata - Quick Play Spell: You can only activate this card when damage from an effect incurs. Reduce the damage incurred to 0 and inflict damage equal to that amount to the opposing player]. Once this card is played, a big white paper doll appears from Curse-Returner Hitogata Doll and breaks into many small dark paper dolls to strike Himuro. His LP decreases to 3000 (4000-1000). On the other hand, Yusei has full 4000 LP as his damage is reduced to 0.

Note: The two characters for man (hito) and shape (kata) are combined to [Hitokata]. In Japan, you commonly see it as a paper doll in a feature of a human. It has both positive and negative influences. You can use it as a cursed doll or a purified doll to wash evils/disasters away.

The gang looks confused and doesn't understand why their boss' LP is written off by 1000 but the Satellite scum like Yusei doesn't receive any damage despite the face that he summons Crystal Skull. Himuro becomes very surprised before asking what Yusei did. Yusei explains that, according to Curse-Returner Hitogata's effect, his damage points are reduced to 0 while Himuro must be the one to receive those damage points.

Note: Yusei's LP originally shouldn't have been reduced to 3000. Anime just presents that his LP first reduced to 3000 by the special effect of Crystal Skull. When Curse-Returner Hitogata Doll is played, his damage points are reduced to 0 and makes his LP return to 4000.

The gang is amazed by that Yusei intentionally dumps his damage points to Himuro. Even Yanagi is impressed by that Yusei was able to use the curse of Crystal Skull like that. Yusei explains that the cards just respond to him. Crystal Skull that people have insulted like a trash has gained strength from the power of its friends. Yanagi still doesn't understand by what friends Yusei is talking about. Yusei turns back to him and smiles before saying that the cards that Yanagi has collected together are the friends. Yanagi feels impressed by that Yusei sees value in his treasures and also thinks that he is such an amazing guy.

Himuro looks very mad. The gang tries to cheer him that this should be just a luck. There is no way that the Satellite scum like Yusei can beat him. Himuro denies and says that it isn't a luck. He has realized that Yusei knows his way around duel very well. This makes Himuro feel a chill as he hasn't found a person who can make him serious for a long time. The current opponent is so strong that Himuro has to put his full effort to oppose. Yusei turns back to the game and ends his turn at this point. The gang begins to sweat because they haven't never seen Himuro making his face like this before.

3rd Turn - Himuro

As the turn comes to Himuro, he draws a card and gets Ushi Oni. He decides to release Jirai Gumo to summon [Ushi Oni - 6/2150/1950] onto the field in attack position. Yanagi is surprised by that Jirai Gumo appears to have higher ATK than Ushi Oni. Despite of this face, Himuro decides to summon Ushi Oni with lower ATK. The gang warns him that the real game is going to start from now on.

Next, Himuro releases Ushi Oni on the field to special summon [Great Bull Djinn ~ Ouu Ushi Oni - 8/2600/2100: This card can only be Special Summoned by releasing 1 Ushi Oni on your side of the field. When this card destroys 1 of your opponent's monsters, it can attack once more. This effect can only be used once during a turn] onto the field in attack position. This second summon is considered the special summon by the special effect of Great Bull Djinn itself.

Without waiting, Himuro declares the strike of Great Bull Djinn, "Specter's Bite", towards Crystal Skull. The gang thinks that this should finish him off while Yanagi gets scared. At the same time, Yusei looks very serious. Although Crystal Skull in defense position is destroyed, Yusei's attitude doesn't change. Yanagi, however, looks very upset that his treasure is destroyed.

Himuro explains the special of Great Bull Djinn that when it can destroy a monster (Crystal Skull in this case), it can do another attack in the same battle phase. He declares the second attack towards Yusei directly. This strike reduces Yusei's LP to 1400 (4000-2600). Yanagi becomes very concerned while the gang is glad to see that their boss finally made it. Himuro ends his turn at this timing. He even rushes Yusei to summon a monster. Yusei doesn't say anything but stares at Himuro by his angry eyes.

EPISODE SUMMARY - PART 2

At the underground level of the mansion, Rex is talking to Jack about the true face of the public security maintenance bureau. The public security maintenance bureau of Neo Domino City is just a temporary form. The true form is a group that succeeds people with the power of the stars in order to bring peace to the world. The group name is [Yliaster], which means the first mass of all things. As Jack looks confused, Rex clarifies that politics, economics, militaries, and everything that controls society are driven by people who swear their loyalty to the name, Yliaster. Rex reveals that he is the 360th generation of the star guardians.

4th Turn - Yusei

At the detention center, the game is continued with Yusei's turn. He draws a card and summons [Ashoka Pillar - 3/0/2200: When this card is destroyed, this card's controller receives 2000 points of damage] onto the field in defense position. Himuro's gang is amused again by another defense monster and suggests Himuro hurry to destroy it. Himuro anyway isn't pleased with the gang and tells people to stop. He is currently excited by how far Yusei can go on by this deck.

Stonehenge
Spell Card

Yusei next activates an equipment spell card [Stonehenge - Equipment Spell: Select 1 monster with an attack power of 0 from your Cemetery and Special Summon to your side of the field with this card equipped. When this card is destroyed, destroy the equipped monster]. It allows him to special summon a monster with 0 ATK from the cemetery and equips it with this card. Thus, Yusei selects to call back Crystal Skull from the graveyard and equips it with Stonehenge. According to the special effect of Crystal Skull, Yusei has to receive 1000 damage points when it's summoned successfully. Therefore, his LP decreases to 400 (1400-1000).

The gang begins to laugh and thinks that Himuro actually overestimates Yusei. Nobody expects him to resummon Crystal Skull as Yusei knows well about its negative impact. Therefore, they are all amused by Yusei's unlimited insanity.

Nevertheless, Himuro doesn't think that Yusei is stupid or has an insane play. With the special effect of Great Bull Djinn, it can do twice attacks in the same battle phase if it can destroy a monster successfully. In other words, if Yusei doesn't have at least 2 monsters on the field, his LP will be written off to 0 in this turn. The gang has just realized that the 2 monsters of Yusei are his barrier monsters, and Yusei intends to defend Himuro's strike by accepting to lose some damage points from the special effect of Crystal Skull (Although he loses some LP, he hasn't been defeated yet. It's better than he receives the twice attacks until his LP goes down to 0).

Even though Himuro accepts that it is a smart play, he thinks that Yusei has made a mistake. The gang doesn't seem to understand, so Himuro explains that when Ashoka Pillar is destroyed, its special effect will cause Yusei to receive 2000 damage points. Yanagi is afraid that Himuro is right. If Himuro lets Great Bull Djinn destroy Ashoka Pillar, Yusei will be finished off immediately by Ashoka Pillar's effect. Yusei doubts whether Yanagi really thinks so before setting up a face-down card and ending his turn. Himuro expects that Yusei is preparing to play a trap for his attack. Anyway, he has already prepared for it. His current 2 face-down cards are also a trap to counter Yusei's play.

At the mysterious sanctuary, Rex keeps talking to Jack about the place and the background of Yliaster. He walks to the entrance of the sanctuary and touches the wall full of mysterious texts and pictures. To talk about the true face of Yliaster, Rex says that its origin was discovered in Andes Highlands of South America about 3000 years ago. He tells Jack that he will accompany him distantly to the world of Pre-Inca civilization at that time. After he raises his hand up, the surrounding place is moved up. Jack finds himself among clouds and moves closer to an island ahead. The construction on the island is the same ancient sanctuary Jack sees in the underground mansion. This was the form of the sanctuary 3000 years ago.

Rex describes that, at this place, the native people called [People of the Stars] built the boulder civilization called [Sanctuary of the Sky]. These people worshipped [The Star of Dragon] as a god that rules all things. All knowledge was handed from the stars down to the ruler called [The King of Star Dragon]. Currently, the pictures displayed are the flashback of the ancient time when the King of Star Dragon with a mask was standing at the entrance of Sanctuary of the Sky. He's surrounded by various female servants.

The King of Star Dragon stepped to the top of the Sanctuary of the Sky, and a red star appeared in the sky and began to shine. The king opened his arms wide to accept messages coming from the star. People at that time were led by the stars through the message from the king in order to build individual societies and civilization. However, wicked disturbances threatened peace many times. The King of Star Dragon, therefore, stood up and prayed to the Star of Dragon for salvation.

The Star of Dragon finally responded. [The Crimson/Red Dragon ~ Akaki Ryu], the embodiment of god, was incarnated to whirl and seal the incarnation of evils left in the earth. Jack still looks confused by the evils left in the earth that Rex is talking about. Rex tells him that they are here while raising his hand up. The pictures beneath them then display the pictures of [Nazca Lines].

Note: Nazca Lines is an actual series of geoglyphs located in Peru. They are mysterious lines in different shapes such as spiders, birds, lizards, and others. There are more than hundred features whose their creators have been unknown to the world. One of the most popular stories is a rumor about aliens. People may have seen a sample story already in Indiana Jones the Kingdom of Crystal Skull, a movie released in 2008.

5th Turn - Himuro

The duel at the detention center is continued by Himuro's turn. Drawing a card, he gets Nobleman of Crossout. Himuro then tells Yusei that he would like him to show what his face-down card is, so he declares the battle of Great Bull Djinn, "Specter's Bite", to Ashoka Pillar. Yanagi looks scared of the coming strike towards his treasure. As Himuro has expected, Yusei activates the trap card that he has set up. It is [Totem Pole ~ Permanent Trap: Negate an opponent's monster's attack towards a monster. When you use this effect 3 times, destroy this card].

Note: Another treasure of Yanagi is Totem Pole, an actual pole sculpture carved mostly by cedar trees. This sculpture was originally constructed in North America. It has different believes depending on cultures and can refer to clan lineages or notable events.

Due to the effect of Totem Pole, Yusei can negate the attack of Himuro for 3 times. Yanagi thinks that it's so wonderful as he has never known that the card contains such an effect. Himuro's gang is all stunned. Anyway, Himuro chuckles. Yusei has already fallen into his trap as planned.

At this moment, Himuro activates his permanent trap card [Spider-Web Castle ~ Kumo No Sujyou - Permanent Trap: This card can only be activated when an opponent's Trap card is activated. When an opponent's monster attacks, halve that monster's attack power. If you sent this card to the Cemetery, this card's player can attack their opponent directly]. A castle surrounded by spider webs emerges onto the field. Himuro explains that this trap card can be activated only when Yusei activates a trap card, which is Totem Pole in this case. The effect of Spider-Web Castle will impact Yusei when his monster attacks and its ATK will be halved. In addition to the effect of Spider-Web Castle, if Himuro selects to send Spider-Web Castle into the graveyard, he can allow his monster to attack Yusei directly.

Himuro doesn't see any chance for the Satellite scum like Yusei to win. Yanagi asks whether Yusei is okey after Himuro talked to him like that. Yusei doesn't seem to be affected by Himuro's words anyway. Setting up a face-down card, Himuro ends his turn. He looks very confident to his 2 perfect face-down cards, Holy Barrier Mirror Force and Trap Hole. Trap Hole has an ability to destroy a monster with 1000 ATK or higher summoned. Yusei currently doesn't have any monster with higher ATK than Great Bull Djinn of Himuro. Thus, Trap Hole should be a good guard in case Yusei can surprisingly summon a high-class monster. Anyway, Himuro has prepared another defense in this case. The second face-down trap card, Holy Barrier Mirror Force, has an ability to destroy all attack monsters whenever Yusei declares an attack. With these 2 trap cards, Himuro is strongly confident to his perfect defense (Nevertheless, what he hasn't been aware or prepared for is when Yusei doesn't attack by monsters but card effects).

Note: Himuro's battle phase had already been ended before he activated Spider-Web Castle. He couldn't let Great Bull Djinn attack again in this turn by its special effect because it didn't destroy Yusei's monster successfully.

The duel with Yusei makes Himuro feel very hot and excited. He has already forgotten this feeling and sensation for a while. As far as Himuro can remember, he used to have exciting time like this in his past life. He was once in the pro riding duel world. His last opponent at that time appeared to be Jack Atlas, and his Great Bull Djinn was defeated by Red Demon's Dragon of Jack. The result was an absolute defeat of Himuro, and he was certainly very upset. After the duel, Jack walked into Himuro and insulted him by saying, "The person who calls himself the opponent of the King is just only this level? It's the worst duel".

As a result of this duel, Himuro quitted a pro but didn't quit dueling. He ended up with the underground duel, kept winning, obtained the victories, and earned money in that dump place. Because he was involved in illegal duels, he was eventually sent to the detention center. It's such a pathetic story. Yusei is the one who makes his spirit burn again. As the spirit of a duelist, Himuro tells himself that he won't be defeated in this duel.

6th Turn - Yusei

The last chance comes to Yusei. He looks at the deck while his heart is beating stronger. He tells the cards that he believes in all of them and hopes that they will show their owner, Yanagi, the victory. The cards he has collected haven't been complete. There is one more card that he needs, and he hopes that he will get it in this draw. Drawing with confidence and getting Piri Reis Map, Yusei smiles as an opportunity has finally come. Everyone can notice that Yusei is smiling with something.

Yusei activates spell card [Piri Reis Map ~ Piri Reis No Chizu - Spell: Select 1 monster with an attack power of 0 from your deck and add it to your hand. When the monster added to your hand by this effect is summoned, halve your Life Points]. A largely ancient map appears behind Yusei. Himuro's gang thinks that it looks just a plain map. Yanagi gets excited and proud to present the story behind this treasure. The gang is annoyed by that Yanagi is about to talk big about his treasure again. They have been sick of his bragging already, so Yanagi doesn't have a chance to explain further.

Note: Piri Reis is an actual map originally created in the 16th century by a cartographer, Piri Reis.

Yusei explains the effect of Piri Reis Map that it allows him to add a monster with 0 ATK from his deck onto his hand. He certainly selects to add the last required treasure from his deck onto his hand and immediately summons it [Cabrera Stone - 1/0/0: When this card is placed in defense mode, it is destroyed. At that time, this card's controller receives 1000 points of damage] onto the field in attack position.

Note: Yusei can't summon it in defense position as it will be destroyed by its own special effect. Then, he has to receive 1000 damage points if Cabrera Stone is destroyed. Yusei currently has LP less than 1000, so he will be defeated immediately.

Piri Reis Map
Spell Card
Cabrera Stone
Monster Card

In order to play Piri Reis Map to summon Cabrera Stone, Yusei is required to pay a half of his LP. Thus, his LP decreases to 200 (400/2). The gang is surprised by what Cabrera Stone is. Yanagi again is trying to tell its amazing story related to dinosaurs, but the gang is enough and doesn't care whatever it is. Yanagi anyway is proudly to present these fascinating artifacts. People can't see Crystal Skull, Cabrera Stone, and Ashoka Pillar in any museum they go.

Note: Cabrera or The Ica stones are a collection of andesite stones alleged to include ancient depictions of dinosaurs and advanced technology. They were reportedly discovered in a cave near Ica, Peru.

Triangle-O
Spell Card

Himuro asks what Yusei intends to do by paying a half of his LP to play Piri Reis Map to summon Cabrera Stone. Yusei should have known this risk already, but he agreed to lose his LP to summon this monster. This makes him have only 200 LP left. Yusei replies by a short answer that it is to win. There is a certain card that can be activated only when Crystal Skull, Cabrera Stone and Ashoka Pillar are together on the field. That card is [Triangle-O - Spell: When Crystal Skull, Ashoka Pillar, and Cabrera Stone are on your side of the field, this card can be activated. Destroy all cards on the field. Damage towards the player received by the effects of the cards destroyed by that will all become damage towards the opposing player].

Yusei activates Triangle-O from his hand. A triangle area expands and surrounds his and Himuro's fields. All Yanagi's treasures crack and break in pieces. The effect of Triangle-O reaches Himuro's field and also destroys his monster, Great Bull Djinn. Yanagi gets very excited by the power of Triangle-O that he has never been aware (He just loves his treasures and has never cared about their effects). Yusei explains that the effect of Triangle-O can destroy all cards on the field and any damage he should receive will turn to Himuro.

According to the special effect of Ashoka Pillar and Cabrera Stone, Yusei has to receive damage points equal to 2000 and 1000 respectively when those 2 cards are sent to the cemetery. Due to the effect of Triangle-O, these total damage points of 3000 (2000+1000) are inflicted directly to Himuro. They make his LP decrease to 0 (3000-3000) exactly.

Note: Himuro has prepared his 2 traps, Trap Hole and Holy Barrier Mirror Force, to counter Yusei's monster attack, but none of them can counter spell effect.

Duel End

Himuro falls onto his knees as his friends are running in and asking whether he is okey. Yanagi thinks that Yusei is very amazing to inflict direct 3000 damage points and win like that. He himself has never thought of this play (as he doesn't know the effects of his cards well). Yusei turns back and tells Yanagi that he just follows what the cards feel and want. His words make Yanagi feel very impressed that he jumps to hug him and even tries to kiss him.

Himuro gets up as his gang gets angry and begins to yell at Yusei how dare he did this to their boss despite the fact that he has never got into a battle just once. Himuro tells his gang to stop and walks into Yusei. He doesn't look mad at all. The fact that Yusei could win without engaging into a single duel should mean that he was chosen by the cards. It's was such a scary and fine strategy.

As Himuro is standing in front of Yusei, Yusei gives his duel disk back to Yanagi and turns to Himuro. Himuro stares at Yusei and asks his name. Yusei has introduced his name to Himuro by the first time as Himuro always called him the Satellite scum/punk. Himuro even apologizes Yanagi for stepping onto his card earlier. Yanagi smiles and totally forgives him as there is no problem at all. He tries to make fun by showing his cards (Crystal Skull, Ashoka Pillar, Cabrera Stone, and Stonehenge) to Himuro and telling him that Crystal Skull is laughing.

Everything is because of Yusei's help. Yanagi thinks that Yusei is such an amazing guy. Himuro thinks that it's very pity for Yusei to hide into the place like this. If possible, he would like to send him to the pro world. Yusei doesn't say anything but smiles. Himuro shakes his hand with Yusei and asks whether they can duel again. Yusei convinces him that they certainly will at anytime. Suddenly, two securities walk in and call Yusei by his number, "88". One of them tells him that the warden or the warden wants to have an investigation with him personally, so he tells Yusei to follow him.

Jack and Rex are now standing above Nazca Lines, which Rex is talking that they are representation of the evils. The will of these evils was sealed in the earth. Rain water has spent its time to seep into underground and its stain has spread over over the whole earth. Rex tells Jack to think and see what is happening to the current world. War, poverty, incurable disease, and economic crisis are everywhere. There is no calmness or peace at the time of the people of the stars that has remained. The only existing Utopia is Neo Domino City.

Note: Utopia means an ideal society or fictional society portrayed in literature. The ideal society is different among people based on their nations, religious, races, and others. You may be able to hear something like Economic, Politic, or Scientific Utopia around the current world. Rex considers Neo Domino City an Utopia because this is a dream city of high-class and chosen residents.

Rex asks whether Jack has already understood that the evil god sealed under Nazca Lines will be soon resurrected by sustenance from people's evil hearts. In preparation for the resurrection of this evil god, Rex or Yliaster group has been searching for the summoners who can call the Crimson/Red Dragon to protect human beings. The summoners are the ones who possess the dragon's mark on their arms. They are called [Signer]. Jack looks at his mark and realizes that Rex is talking about him, a singer with the dragon's wing mark.
