THEME PREVIEWS
Theme I: Season III starts 6 months after the battle between the Signers and the Dark Signers in Season II. During this period, Neo Domino City and Satellite is connected completely to each other. There is no more boundary between the 2 regions, and people's hearts now become one to improve the 2 cities. High-class and complex transportation is created, and a landmark is a beautiful arch over the sea.

Theme II: Neo Domino City and Satellite is now connected by complex transportation over the sea. Roads are separate into highway which regular vehicles commute and small riding duel lanes or driveway for D-Wheelers. There is no regulation for people to have a riding duel on highway, so people can freely have it at anytime. Speed World 2, a new field spell, is mainly created in place of Speed World to make this process succeed. When it is activated when D-Wheelers are on highway, the main server will generate a recommended riding course for D-Wheelers. Highway system will start to alert people and other nearby vehicles that a riding duel is being proceeded and will automatically adjust routes for D-Wheelers to get into the recommended riding duel driveway separate from highway. Streets and highway also adjust themselves to facilitate D-Wheelers and public transportation and to protect walking residents for their safety.

Theme III: WR-GP (World Grand Prix) is an up-coming riding duel tournament that will be held around the city. It's a team tournament with 3 members. D-Wheelers will be competing on particular coastal driveways that transform into complex and high-tech riding lanes. Jack, Crow, and Yusei plan to participate in this tournament, working together to develop new machines.

STORY DIGEST
The first part of season II mainly sets the story for each character and introduces the theme of the main battle of this season, the World Grand Prix. The story begins when a mysterious guy called [Ghost] keeps attacking D-Wheelers one after another at night time. Ushio and Mikage who investigate this case ask Yusei, Jack, and Crow for help, but 3 of them are busy with developing new machines for WR-GP. Ushio therefore acts alone to capture Ghost, but he ends up with serious injury. Yusei, Jack, and Crow decide take off together to catch Ghost. Yusei approaches into a duel with Ghost who uses a mysterious monster with infinity sign that can absorb a synchro monster into itself. He also loses to his enemy but can overcome by a great help of Savior Star Dragon.

Since then, Yusei has been very concerned about how to defeat Ghost who uses a synchro-killer play. In front of this enemy, any synchro summon is dangerous. Yusei tries some strategies but nothing works. Then, he approaches into a new possibility introduced by a mysterious man. This introduced possibility is called [Accel Synchro].

Besides the new enemies, the story focuses on development of characters and sets a tone for each of them. Many characters move toward a riding duel and perform their riding in their possible way. Those people include Aki who is impressed by a riding duel and successfully gets a license and Luca/Lua who play a riding board due to their immature ages.

Next development is on main supporting characters like [Sherry] and [Bruno]. The story tries to describe their relationship with Yusei and the group and also leaves a clue that can be resolved in the WR-GP. Even [Kiryu] left in the season I is back and his story is complete in this season. The last element of the first part is appearance of the last 5D'S dragon, [Black Feather Dragon]. Crow's complete story about his deck and Black Bird D-Wheel are set up.

The theme of the first part ends at an official formation of [5D'S] team that consists of Yusei, Jack, Crow, Aki, Lua, Luca, Bruno. The regular players may be only Yusei, Jack, Crow, and Aki while the others play supporting roles. They are now ready to battle the other teams and going to solve some left mysteries in the WRGP.

SYNCHRO KILLER VS ACCEL SYNCHRO
Synchro killer is an ability of [Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity] played by Ghost. With this ability, a Synchro Monster is absorbed into Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity, which makes the field of the synchro-monster player widely opened.

[Accel Synchro] is first introduced in (episode 74). A theme concept of Accel Synchro is a synchro summon between 2 synchro monsters, which one of them is a Tuner-Synchro monster. More importantly, this synchro summon can be done in an opponent's turn. If Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity is about to activate its effect to absorb a synchro monster into itself, accel synchro can be done to synchro 2 Synchro Monsters onto the field into an Accel Synchro Monster. The effect of Machine Emperor Wisel Infinity can be used only once per turn. When a synchro target is gone, its effect can't be used again for a new Accel Synchro Monster in that turn.

NEW ENEMY & THEIR ACE MONSTERS
The main enemy of this season is 3 guys from the Yliaster group. They become a new boss of the Public Security Maintenance Bureau in place of Director Goodwin. Thus, they control the power of the security and are behind the main event of the World Grand Prix. The monsters that each person have similar theme . They are called [Machine Emperor ~ Kikoutei] series.

The concept of these monsters is that there are 5 monsters played in full monsters slots. Each monster supports the main one with [Infinity] in its card name. The Infinity monster gains the combined ATK of other 4 monsters and becomes the first target. Thus, other 4 monsters can't be targeted and destroyed easily as long as the main one remains. They represent each body part. Anime presents that 5 monsters are combined into 1 giant robot. In a real game, they are 5 effect monsters that support one another. If a part is destroyed by some reason, another part can be called to replace it by different ways of trap or spell.

Once 5 monsters are on the field, they seem very powerful regardless of the ability to take a Synchro Monster from the opponent's field and equip it with the Infinity monster. The point is how they can be called together in an instance. Anime presents support cards to do this job specially.

Because they represent a robot, their family type is Machine with different attributes. 2 Machine Emperor types have already been confirmed and played by Placido and Lucciano. The last one of Jose is about to appear soon.

Yusei's group or the 5D'S team is in block A. Other competitors in the same block are known as the [Unicorn] team and the [Catastrophe] team. In the preliminary match, the purpose is to become one of the top 2 of a block. Losing to a team doesn't mean that a team can't be advanced. On the contrary, winning 2 teams can guarantee a spot in the top 16 of the match tournament.

PRELIMINARY MATCH RULES
There is no official rule clearly described in anime. However, we list the following rules based on screenplay and character dialog. These rules are applied to the preliminary matches and subject to change.

  • This is a team tournament, and there are 3 wheelers in a team. Each wheeler has 4000 LP, so a team has 12000 LP (4000*3) in total. A team is allowed to compete by fewer than 3 wheelers but life points won't increase. For example, if only 2 members ride, the team will have only 8000 LP in total.
  • When the game starts, the first wheeler who takes a lead in the first corner will get the first turn.
  • A riding duel is a 1-on-1 match. Each team must set members to the first, second, and third wheelers. If one loses, the losing team must replace him or her by the next wheeler. Speed Counters and remaining cards on the field are also transferred to the next wheeler. The existing wheeler maintains current LP while the new wheeler has 4000 LP.
  • When each duel ends, the turn at that moment is ended immediately.
  • A team is disqualified if outsiders in the team touch a wheeler.
  • According to the effect of Speed World 2, a number of Speed Counters increases by 1 in each standby phase, starting in the second turn. The number can also increase when a wheeler leads the opponent's team by a lap. When Speed Counters of the leading team reach 12 at maximum, a number of Speed Counters of the opponent's team will start to decrease in each complete lap by the leading wheeler. If Speed Counters decrease to 0, the team will be forfeited.
